Lovely pub style food and drink. Crusty pie, cottage pie, chilli, salads, desserts and a special offer on beer. One happy hubby.

The food was ok, the service was the worst of all the Center Parcs restaurants and personally I would not be in any rush to go back. To give you an example we ordered a bottle of wine which was brought to our table and left there unopened and when I picked it up view the bottle it was warm. I asked for a cold bottle and was then given something which was slightly colder. I then asked for an ice bucket and left it there to cool down further. I then opened the wine as the staff seemed uninterested in me being able to have the drink that I had ordered. When the food came out it was left on the bar for so long that it was cold when it arrived at our table.

This is now called The Forresters and is decorated really nicely. We had always intended to have a celebratory 70th lunch here as part of our stay at centre parcs but on the day we realised we needed to book.We had no trouble booking as it was quiet and we mentioned it was for a member of the family who had their 70th birthday that day. When we arrived later that day the table had a champagne glass filled with mini marshmallows and fruit with a balloon attached and a banner on the table. A card was written from the staff to the person turning 70 which was such a lovely touch. The staff member who served us was excellent, friendly and chatty without being too much. The meal was very good and they also bought out a dessert with a candle in it.The staff were so generous and added some other touches which just made the whole meal so much more than we could've hoped for, it made it so much more of a birthday celebration, they really went above and beyond for us. Thank you to all the staff because it really did make it special.

On the last evening of our Center Parcs trip I booked up for the family to have a nice celebratory meal out. I chose the Forester's Inn (new name) for the occaision and we were not disappointed. To start with the staff were friendly and very accommodating for our party with a 2 year old and a 4 year old. My daughter saw that another table had balloons and like any other 2 year old decided that she wanted one. The staff supplied both kids with balloons. The food was very nice and I found the starters a difficult decision but happily went for the crab fritters (I can report that the salt & pepper quid was also good as was the hummus). I rather fancied fish and chips for the main (as did several of our party) and that was very nice indeed. Sticky toffee pudding was lovely but, I have to say I was envious of my daughters banana split (which after some initial persuading she ate with gusto).Would definitely recommend this gastro pub if you would like a nice meal out. I would advise booking ahead of time though.

Very happy with the updated look and feel and we like sitting outside with the comfortable seating and heaters. The menu has good range and the food is of a high standard, the club sandwich is especially good! The beer is very expensive I paid more than £6.20 for a pint (that is silly, let's be honest), staff are doing their best and it is clear they are short staffed, very friendly and helpful and it is clear to see some customers are difficult and less patient with them than we are. So, well done to the staff and my message to Center Parcs management is; sort it out and get some more people in there!

The afternoon tea was well worth the cost and we all felt extremely full afterwards. Unfortunately the service was poor. The hot drinks arrived after about 10 minutes, although one was missing. We then had a further 20 minute wait when one of our party decided to go and see if we had been forgotten. It was not a busy time and staff were not rushing around. All in all - good food, poor service.

Thought we’d give the new Forester’s Inn a go. Big mistake. Got there earlier than our booking and was sat without hesitation. Great so far. Ordered drinks plus tap water - drinks arrived; no water. Asked a further 3 times for the water to no avail. Went up to the bar as the 4 members of waiting staff seemed to disappear for varying amounts of time leaving a lot of guests including us growing impatient from lack of service. Asked again for water only to be told they were busy and they would bring it straight over. 45 minutes it took to get a jug of tap water. Not impressed.

We went here for dinner on Saturday night and intended having a relaxed evening meal. We arrived and the service was good and they attended to us right away. We ordered a drink and a starter and we're asked if we wanted to order mains at the same time which we did. The starter arrived before our drinks which felt a little strange. As I finished the starter, the main arrived very shortly after. The whole experience seemed a little rushed. We were all done within 45 minutes. In hindsight, I should have insisted on a long break in between so that I could enjoy the experience. The food was good, I had the lamb shank and my fiancé had the chicken which was a little dry. All in all, it was okay but I feel that they could do more to create an ambience and a good dining experience.

A group of 6 of us had a lovely afternoon tea here. We called up earlier in the day and they still had availability l, even though it was a Saturday in June. The staff were pretty good, managed to deal well with our short notice gluten free request, but seemed a little off overall, not rude, just seemed a little ambivalent. The food itself was good, crumbly scones and a good selection of cakes and sandwiches. I think we had salmon, cucumber and cress, ham and cheese and tomato. The macarons were very good. The tea was a bit disappointing, only English breakfast or mint, and they ought out a pot of not-quite-hot-enough water with the tea bag next to it. Pretty reasonable price, £16 for two people. Would go again.

Even though it was nearly empty we had to wit while they cleaned a table etc. etc. Food was average at best - my wife hated it and even my dustbin daughter couldn't eat it. I was not convinced - how hard is it to do a roast dinner? Booked this restaurant for Sunday lunch as part of large family gathering for 40th wedding anniversary weekend celebrations at Center Parcs. The best part was the lady who served us, I believe she had children that attended private school so guess she was working extra part time hours to finance their education. The food was mostly poor, my grandson was offered as a pudding, banana and jelly. Rather surprised when a small bowl of jelly arrived with a separate banana, that however was one of the better service aspects of the kitchen, from start of puddings arriving at our table for a party of 16 it was 25 minutes before the last sweet arrived. Our server was very embarrassed. The first 6 of our party had beef as their choice of meat, it was as tough as old boots. Midway though collecting our carvery main courses the original piece of beef had been fully used so a new joint arrived, this was much better, however by that time most of the original 6 had eaten most of their meat and only my Father in law who will be shortly 92 who could not cut though his beef even with help, had his beef changed. This has been rated as average only because of the lady who served us, without her I would have rated this as terrible.

I'd read quite a few mixed reviews of the Grand Cafe both on Google Reviews and on TripAdvisor prior to my visit to CP and was interested to see for myself which was most accurate. All opinions are naturally subjective but on my visit I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food. I went on a Wednesday evening (with my other half and 3yo son) and I knew before we went that the food choice was limited to a carvery menu for adults and the same for my son but with the option of the children's pasta menu, which he went for. The service was pretty good, although drinks took a while to be delivered even though it wasn't very busy at the time, and the carvery menu (2 courses; starter plus main or main plus dessert) was clearly explained. Two meats were on offer, gammon and beef, and you could choose either or both. Once you're ready to eat you go up to the servery counter and choose your meats plus stuffing, chipolata and Yorkshire pudding (which is put on your plate by a chef) and then you help yourself to as many vegetables as you can fit on your plate! The meat was moist and the veggies were passable (ever so slightly overcooked) but both were very flavoursome. We had apple and cinnamon crumble for dessert, which was delicious, and our son had vanilla ice cream with a bear shaped wafer. His children's menu was £7.95 and included the two courses and a drink. The two adult mains (2 courses) were £16.95, although there's a 3 course option for £19.95. A pint of beer is £4.40, which is fairly standard throughout CP Longleat. One noticeable 'rip off' was a 275ml bottle of non-alcoholic Becks Blue at over £3.50! This strikes me as unreasonable given that it's basically a soft drink! The only reason I've given it four stars not five is because it's a little expensive for what you're getting. I accept that it's not massively overpriced but it's enough to lose a star. A recommended visit though and I'd probably come again.

The Xmas carvery was £25 a head. It felt like a time warp to 1975 ( and not in a good way). Staff were lovely and the starter could be forgiven though prawn cocktail, pate or soup was not fantastic. However the carvery was absolutely dreadful. Carrots uncooked, sprouts over cooked, parsnips soggy, roasties passable. Turkey is basic but the beef was dreadful and the chef could not cut it in slices and had a blunt knife. Dry and overlooked. Desserts were OK, but I get better in the average Toby or Harvester for much less. Enjoying centre parks but avoid booking this!

The Grand Café is conveniently situated in the Village Square in the middle of the site and is a traditional restaurant serving British food. The restaurant itself is nicely designed with none of the tables being too near to each other, and the menu is varied and with plenty of choices. Portion sizes are generally large, albeit the children's were not, four small chicken nuggets with a few fries compared with unlimited serve yourself buffet at Hucks. However, as a party of eight we were served quickly and efficiently, and all of the staff were friendly. The mushroom on toast starter was particularly good, and most of us had the Boursin chicken and really enjoyed it. This is one of the restaurants you can book online in advance, and it is well worth doing as it gets busy.

We visited this evening to take advantage of the carvery evening. As soon as we arrived our reservation was found quickly and we were immediately shown to our table. We were slightly unsure of how to order, after scanning the menu and deciding on two courses we could see people making their way through a door and coming back with a plate of food. A couple minutes passed and the waitress appeared, she was very friendly and informative, she let us know we could get our carvery when we were ready. I inquired about desserts and she told me they were self-serve next to the carvery. The chef behind the meat station was very friendly and personable, had a nice conversation with him. There were 2 meats available, beef and pork, I selected the beef and then made my way to the vegetables. I was slightly disappointed with the lack of choice of vegetables, but managed to fill my plate. The food was nice and eaten very quickly! I made my way back to the dessert station and selected a chocolate fudge cake, and custard. The custard wasn't overly warm, however the cake was delicious! Overall a nice visit with good service.

I was very excited to try what Davana Thai had to offer as I have not had Thai food in a while. We got our food delivered and spent about £60, the food is cleaner and less greasy than a Chinese. Well packaged food, and arrived warm. We had: Black bean tofu, this was quite nice came with rice, my husband quit enjoyed this. Pad Thai, this was stodgy and really lacked flavour. I don't no if pad Thai doesn't travel well? The noodles where so chewy and really just didn't taste of much. Salad, we ordered a tofu salad and it was not what I expected it to be. The salad was tofu, rice and salad leaves, not exactly Thai food. When I ordered this dish I thought it would have more Thai influence. The salad was healthy and if you want a healthier option then this is for you, but you could make this exact thing at home for about £2.50 and I do not pay that price at Davana. Spring roles, these where disappointing, no flavour. Prawn crackers, had the most flavour out of everything. The food came quite quickly but the food just wasn't hitting the spot, for the price I paid I just can't say it was justified. The left overs went in the bin, I couldn't handle eating the rest the following day. I like supporting local businesses but I'm sorry to say I won't be back.
