Danvana Thai in Wiltshire

My sister suggested this place and to try Chicken Pad Thai so we got two of those between three of us and some garlic potatoes. Barely managed to finish it, there was so much food. It was very nice but as I have never had a Thai meal before I have nothing to compare it to, hence the 4 stars rather than 5.

Very quick and easy ordering. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful and the atmosphere when you sit in is so clean and calm. The food was excellent too! I would definitely recommend eating in and I'm sure the delivery is just as good!

We have ordered from here a few times and sadly tonight has been a let down, we ordered the set meal where they forgot the chicken. We then rang up to sort it out and was promise it with in 5-10 minutes this was around 25 minutes late normally this would not bother me but our food had to sit waiting whilst we waited on one of the main dishes. I am really upset with my order tonight and this will sadly now affect me ordering from here again.

Pai Thai is tasteless, Tom yum tastes like curry, vegetables are alright. Overpriced for this quality.

Lovely food, very generous portions, friendly staff, good value

We ordered a take away to be delivered on a Friday evening It arrived really quickly. It was hot and really nicely packaged. The food was fabulous and more than we could eat. Really fresh and tasty with a great crunch to the stir fry vegetables. Really great

Order was very late and required a follow up call. When it finally arrived it was incomplete. Phoned again - missing items never arrived, though we were charged. Never again.

Not Thai. Disappointing sad food. Tom Yum soup was just mushrooms in a sea of stock cube. Penang curry was tasteless wet gloop. Green curry almost exactly the same tasteless grey gloop. Seriously the worst Thai curry we've ever had (and have had lots). Threw it away.

Second time we've eaten here. First time dining in. We were not that hungry so ordered a pad Thai and sharing platter. Both were delicious. The staff were friendly and even added some extra pad Thai to the plate.

Staying in Trowbridge for 1 day and chanced upon Davana Thai for dinner. Really impressed. Beautiful food and great service from Albert. Would return again without hesitation.

Needed a nice evening meal as we were staying in an airbnb nearby which had limited facilities. We decided to come in having read previous reviews. We ate a delicious meal and the service from Albert was gold standard,We would return or order takeaway if we lived closer,a little gem 😁

From order to delivery it took over 2 hours. Had to phone restaurant to see what was going on and was promised the order was on its way…still took another 20 mins. Food arrived lukewarm and burnt.

Had an amazing lunch at Davana. Will highly recommend it.

Very impressed, food was absolutely brilliant in fact " one of the best red Thai Currys I have ever had " delivery was no time at all and web site was easy to order from! So top marks all round! My friend that popped in to visit also tried my meal as she had never had Thai food before, and was won over straight away!! Will definitely be using Davana Thai again!!

Was in the area to visit some family and wanted to try some Thai food. Best decision to try out Davana Thai after my last visit to their other branch in Melksham. Went to the restaurant with my family and we left more than satisfied. The price is definitely worth it with the stand out being the crispy chicken and Pad Thai. Truely enjoyed the night out with the customer service being 10/10. Next time I am in the area I will be visiting again!

Had a couple of good takeaways but then two atrocious meals, also they will not stop texting us, very annoying, will never use them again!!!!

Got a take away pad Thai it is absolutely delicious one of my favorite things to eat is asian food and this is no acception. Really delicious and the veg spring rolls are super yummy too

Me and my partner have just ordered a takeaway of a beef and chicken Thai Red curry, egg fried rice, with spring rolls and all I can say is wow, everything was so fresh and so so tasty, and plenty of it, worth every penny, we will definitely order again 😎

Had a meal out with friends at the new restaurant in Melksham. I have to say the food was fantastic, large portions and very tasty so no compliants there at all. The restaurant has not long opened in town, but I do feel they need to make it a little more welcoming. It was extremely cold in there and it felt like the aircon was on. Also, absolutely no decor on the walls, it was very clinical. Not sure if I would go back any time soon for a dine in experience during the winter months, but would definitely order a takeaway to enjoy in the warmth of my own home.

Excellent service, the food was lovely and the potion was great.

Fantastic customer service. I called due to having two vegans in the group and was very satisfied with their knowledge and answers. Delivery was bang on time and driver was lovely. Food was still hot when served. Thai red curry was beautiful and the veg spring rolls, and I believe all the other meals were enjoyed as we cleared our plates. - my only note would be it would be great if there were more vegan options without coconut milk as mums intolerant. Bar that, really enjoyed the meal and hope to order from there again.

Had from both Trowbridge and now Melksham. Food is a bit meh, not authentic and not much flavour. Rice is always dry! In Trowbridge this probably does ok because not many other Thai options. However if you are in Melksham I’d say it is probably the worst Thai food. I would suggest Thai from the west end (best) or maybe even kings gourmet which is still much better than this even though they don’t focus on Thai.

Used to go hear all the time, the cashew stir Fry was delicious, and the massaman would sometimes be good other times just cream, just rang up and the large stir-fry which cost £15 no longer comes with rice, it's now £2 extra, that is full blown restaurant prices, I'm sorry but the stir fry is literally vegetables in sauce with a few bits of chicken, £15 for fried vegetables and you can't include boiled rice anymore. This cost of supplier excuse has driven take aways insane and they are just ripping people off, so instead I went to the mogul where prices and reasonable, davana Thai your not a 5 star restaurant your a take away and your gonna loose all your customers with this extortion. So in conclusion 2 vegetable stir Fry's and rice would have cost £34.

Being new to the area, we decided to give this "Thai" restaurant a go, and eat in. What a mistake! The place has the air of a decayed Chinese take away, with an unpleasantlu sticky floor, which has clearly not been properly cleaned for some time. We sat ourselves down to find menu fliers strewn about the table - this was the only menu we were offered - to find that these were both old and new menus. The cook / waiter came to talke our drinks order; despite there being alcohol on the menu, they had none, so had to have soft drinks; the "waiter" later exoressed surprise that we had not helped ourselves! No glasses were offered and I helped myself to two glasses from beind the counter; these were clearly for display only and had not been washed in months given the layer of grease on the under side. The menu was very limited, but having ordered, we were asked to pay immediately, something I've only come across in McDonalds! When the food arrived - it appeared to have been freshly prepared (for which I give a star), we were unable to tell the difference between the two dishes. Having lived in Thailand for some years, we are familiar with the huge variety of Thai cuisine, and neither dish rasted anything like the dish it purported to be. One does not expect the finesse of Thai cookery, but this unacceptable. Overall, the whole experience was deeply depressing and we shall most certainly be troubling them again, especially given the excessive prices charged for this very third rate food.

Good clean food 😋 tasted like being on holiday

Just had a order from the on deliveroo, ordered garlic potatoes and can see the frozen crystals inside out of 10 I tried 3 were cooked and had to throw the rest Just tried what was meant to be Singapore noodles but tastes absolutely rancid, never ordering again from here, waste of £15

the food isn't bad actually rather good but i have had times were bits of food wasn't delivered or item were mixed up

Nice food, but twice I'm disappointed. Once I've ordered a carrot cake, but they got me a cheesecake instead without inform me before delivery. Second time I didn't receive the rice ;/ I just can not believe, I've just received my 3rd order and the the water I ordered it's not there... what a joke

Rather disappointing, both the stir-fry and the curry dishes were bland, chicken was chewy and potato undercooked in the curry.

Unfortunately our food was overcook, someone forgot put some salt for rice , drinks not what we order .very disappointed

Have used this restaurant many times for takeaways and food is usually very good. However food ordered yesterday fell somewhat short of the mark. Many of the curry dishes seemed to be 90% sauce and 10% meat. The stir fry dishes were as good as usual. Maybe if they are struggling to have enough meat for the dishes they should put them in smaller pots with less sauce...at least it would look less like a thai soup! Let's hope it was just a one off bad night in their kitchen.

I had a really considerate, multitasking genius in house service from one man's beautifully attentive table service who then presented himself as a clearly highly skilled chef. Felt great there and afterwards....So thanks for that 👊👌🙂😁

Fantastic lunch for my mother in laws 86 year old Birthday. They made her feel very special with surprise Birthday desserts and tunes. The Pad King and Thai Green curry were particularly delicious. Relaxed informal atmosphere and lovely attentive friendly staff. We will be back.

This place is the best discovery we have made in the last few months. The food is truly outstanding, both in terms of quality and quantity. Appears to be the same delivery driver every time, he's incredibly polite and a credit to Davana Thai. We can't speak highly enough.

I had vegitarian tofu with chilli's Jasmin rice take away. Excellent service . Can eat in .very comfortable . Tasted excellent

Consistent price increases for their Curries, don't feel like its worth the price anymore, considering the quality of it, it's not worth it. Will be going elsewhere from now on.

Tonight was the first time we tried Davana Thai. The food arrived as promised and considering that we live outside Trowbridge it was still lovely and hot.We are very impressed . The food tastes fresh and authentic . We will definitely be ordering from you again x

My new fave takeaway, that staff are so friendly. Best spring rolls ever!!! Also order the pad Thai couldn’t believe how big the portion was, excellent quality and value. I don’t order takeaway often but with a broken foot and delayed food shop wanted to order something that wouldn’t give you that horrible takeaway feeling afterward. This food is so delicious and fresh you don’t get that feeling at all. Will be making this a regular treat now I enjoyed it so much. Thank you!

I am sorry to say I have back to home with a takeaway food and potatos on the dish was undercooked. Any way I call to them inform about it and the lady on the phone Offer a refund. Than she ask about my long card number. I refused to give this kind of information from obvies reasons. I Offer I can give my sort code and account nr. Than she spoke with „manager”. He don’t want to belive that food wasnt alright so ask me to being it back tommorow to proof me I am wrong....

Consistently great quality, well cooked and delicious. Fresh, fresh, fresh. No wonder it’s our favourite take-away in Trowbridge.

What can I say. Amazing food. Amazing service. Amazing staff and amazing taste. After visiting Thailand at the start of the year I have found it really hard to find a good thai restaurant until now. The food is out of this world with amazing taste. Really shocked to see poor reviews but from what we have had it cant be beat. Great that its local and will always use now. Just had a £60 worth takeaway and it was Tragic! The food was cold, the rice was over cooked and it wasn’t worth a single penny I would never ever go back or recommend to anyone

Ordered our food at 19.10 and didn’t get it til 21.05, when I rang the restaurant to enquire where our food was the manager come to the phone and offered no apology and no explanation. There were 2 bits of chicken in my massaman curry and 2 bits of chicken in the Penang curry. Will not be ordering from this restaurant again.

I ordered my first davana Thai meal tonight and I took it home after meeting the polite and friendly staff. I have to say the food wasn’t cold as some have said here, it was flavoursome and after my meal I did not feel hungry. I will look forward to my next visit there after enjoying my first meal from there and seems great value too 👍🏻

Food is amazing and authentic, piping hot and the desserts are also gorgeous! Second time we have ordered now and it will be our new regular takeaway. Exactly the type of takeaway that the town needed!

Food is consistently of high quality here. Fresh ingredients, well cooked. Super flavour without the sense that it is loaded with artificial additives. More expensive than your average takeaway but well worth it.

We have had food from here before and it's been lovely, but tonight our food arrived stone cold, then I found a bit of plastic in mine and it tasted inedible. Was really disappointed this eve, the masaman curry I had tasted horrid which is a shame as I was really looking forward to it having had it from here previously.

Looking at the last couple of reviews it seems they have 'off'' days. I've been meaning to leave a review for a while because everytime we've oredered from here, the food has been fantastic.Sure they don't always have what you want to order, but everything we'veeaten from here has been much better quality than most take-aways in the area.Reading the last two reviews, it's hard to think we're talking about the same place. I suggest you try for yourself.

Ordered from here because we had a discount as the previous time they had got the order wrong. Once again the order was wrong. I ordered a vegetable fried rice as I don’t eat meat and it came with bits of beef in. I didn’t realise there were pieces of beef in the food until already eating some which is appalling. I haven’t eaten beef for over 3 years and this has now made me sick!! If you don’t eat meat don’t go here as they seem to just put anything in the food. Definitely won’t be ordering from this disgusting place again!

I tried this place for lunch the other day. I was very disappointed with what I received. £9.50 is expensive for a noodle box, but not too bad if it's good quality and tasty. Sadly it was neither if those things. The beef and prawn noodle box I received was not only tasteless, but both the beef and prawns were overcooked. The beef was so tough I couldn't actually chew it. I could forgive the beef and prawns being inedible if the noodles were tasty, but even these weren't good. They were just salty and tasted of nothing else. I just binned the lot and had a sandwich in the end! I noted the chef is a white guy so perhaps hasnt acquired the necessary experience to cook "Authentic Thai" cuisine.

We have used the take-away service may times and have on a few occasions sat in at the restaurant on a lunch-time. We have always been very happy with the service until this Monday. We never spend less than £50.00 each time for delivered orders, so I think we are reasonably good customers. It was my birthday and my family asked what I would like for dinner. A Davana Thai meal came immediately to my mind. We ordered just before 18:50 with a delivery time of 19:54 given. Our food arrived at 19:39, well ahead of schedule and we all sat down to enjoy our food. Despite the quick arrival, we all found our food to be almost cold and had to eat in relays of reheating the food in the microwave. So much for a family birthday meal since we effectively all ended up eating at different times. Further, we had requested (as on previous occasions) that one of the two Pad Thai meals must not contain Chicken but that the Prawns could remain in the dish. Both family members reported that there were no prawns in either of the dishes and that one had just Chicken. Very dissapointed and definitely not the standard we would normally expect. Even more disappointing that having tried numerous times to call them to complain, they are not picking up the phone. Funny that!

OK food. Not the best, but fills a whole

Appalling. As two key workers we thought we would treat ourselves to a takeaway. The meal was DISGUSTING. We never complain, but this was terrible. The chicken tasted off, the potatoes were black, the onions were undercooked and the rice was crunchy. I called and explained this and the response I got was that all of it was ok and cooked well. I even sent them evidence by email of the black potato and they replied that it was not a potato. So what was it? They told us we would have a full refund and I gave them our details. 3 weeks later and we still have not received anything. When I emailed to ask what the update was on the payment, they ignored and never replied. I have evidence of them saying they would give us a full refund, but now they are choosing to ignore me. We have never had to complain at any other restaurants before, we are appalled and would not recommend this place to anyone.

Its was £40 for this food!! Witch is ok if its good food!! All the food was stone cold when the food arrived the food was rancid!!smell funny!! Went in the bin!! Never again!! People of trowbridge DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE!!!!!! Iv been sick all night!! I wont my money back!! Should of just gone to the chip shop!!

Ordered the House Fried Rice and Singapore Noodles with a veg spring roll starter. All dishes had a strange chemical taste I haven't experienced in any other Thai restaurant in the UK. Maybe this is what authentic tastes like, but I think I could make much better, and fresher tasting versions withe better quality meat myself, much cheaper. Portions generous, if you like this food you can probably order one main between 2 people but we won't use them again.

Delicious food delivered promptly. The dragon potatoes are absolutely delicious and both the Penang curry and sweet crispy sesame chicken were great. Generous portions and really fresh tasting. We’ll definitely order again.

Ordered the prawn tom yum soup and vegetable fried rice and my partner had the chicken wings and black bean stir fry. My partner said the wings were nice. Im a pescatarian and was very surprised to find chicken in my vegetable rice and i had already started eating it. I sent it back and was given some new rice but it was literally drowning in oil and sauce. The tom yum soup was extremely salty, i couldnt eat it so left pretty hungry. The server apologised but no apology from the chef and had to ask for a refund for the 'vegetable' fried rice whilst paying. We always eat thai food and this is the worst we have had. Wont be returning.

Regular lunchtime place to visit with work colleagues. Basic decor, Set menu only available Thursday and Friday lunchtime for £5. Good authentic Thai food, we love it

The customer phone service is the worst I have ever experienced and its always a different person! First using swear words and then today being told to hold to make my order over the phone and was left there for over 5 mins while chatting and completely forgot about their potential customer.

My wife is fussy and I’m not much better but both of us enjoyed it here. The food was great, the delivery was quick, the staff friendly. I can’t find a fault beyond “maybe a little too much veg in the spring roll” and that’s just reaching. I’d recommend.

This takeaway was in severe chaos last night I waited for our order for just over an hour. During my wait front of house had a constant stream of tele calls either cancelling orders which hadn’d Arrived or asking were their food was. ‘Charlotte’ tried to deal with this torrent of unsatusfied customers and fare play to her she remained polite and as helpful as she could be Whatever system they had had clearly ceased to work Not good the food was only okay at best Sorry but I won’t be going back

The delivery man was very apologetic, and was the only saving grace for this evening. It is such a shame that they have lost our custom.
