Davana Thai Melksham in Wiltshire

I was very excited to try what Davana Thai had to offer as I have not had Thai food in a while. We got our food delivered and spent about £60, the food is cleaner and less greasy than a Chinese. Well packaged food, and arrived warm. We had: Black bean tofu, this was quite nice came with rice, my husband quit enjoyed this. Pad Thai, this was stodgy and really lacked flavour. I don't no if pad Thai doesn't travel well? The noodles where so chewy and really just didn't taste of much. Salad, we ordered a tofu salad and it was not what I expected it to be. The salad was tofu, rice and salad leaves, not exactly Thai food. When I ordered this dish I thought it would have more Thai influence. The salad was healthy and if you want a healthier option then this is for you, but you could make this exact thing at home for about £2.50 and I do not pay that price at Davana. Spring roles, these where disappointing, no flavour. Prawn crackers, had the most flavour out of everything. The food came quite quickly but the food just wasn't hitting the spot, for the price I paid I just can't say it was justified. The left overs went in the bin, I couldn't handle eating the rest the following day. I like supporting local businesses but I'm sorry to say I won't be back.

We had a home delivery. Went for the set menu for 4. The quantity of rice with the set menu is inadequate as you get one medium rice with 4 medium main dishes. Also three of the meals selected were prawn red Thai curry. One of the meals was more of a soup than a curry due to lack of beans and prawns. The curry sauce tasted great as did the gyoza sides. Based on the points above the food quality is better from the Trowbridge restaurant as we have had home deliveries from both with the same dishes. We had considered Davana Thai “one up” from the Chinese and Indian establishments in the area due to price and previous good food from the Trowbridge restaurant. We had friends visiting not from the area and their feedback was that the food was adequate but they wouldn’t reorder. We will order again but go back to the Trowbridge restaurant and the set menu for 4 needs better balancing with more rice

Great vegan options and really tasty food. The Vegan Spice Bag was good. Very friendly service.

This place is terrible. Bland food, empty and staff nowhere to be seen at the start. There is a Thai on the edge of town which I have been told is 10 x better so will have to try there. The worst Thai food I have ever eaten

Absolutely gorgeous, fresh, delicious and quickly delivered. Really impressed and will be ordering again. 10/10!

Davana Thai is an unassuming restaurant, and when I visited it was fairly empty. The food was delicious, waiting staff attentive, and I shall definitely be returning.

Excellent food and charming staff. Quiet, friendly atmosphere. I will definitely be coming back soon.

A lovely tasty meal different to other places. Cooked from fresh and spring rolls very good and a decent size. Will definitely go again.

Ordered a takeaway, no one in the restaurant or any staff to be seen when I arrived. Eventually someone came out with my takeaway. Curries were OK, and just ok. Nothing special and I have had far nicer. The vegetable spring rolls were disgusting. They were burnt yet soggy and they had a stale taste. For 2 curries, 2 rice, 3 small spring rolls for £35 I could have had a far nicer takeaway elsewhere. The restaurant itself was very unappealing, mismatched chairs, no pictures, no typical Thailand nik naks

If you like overpriced takeaway followed by endless spam text promos then this is the place for you! The text don’t opt out and despite direct communication they never stop. Very unhappy. The food was fine but too expensive for what is was.

The worst thai food ive ever eaten! The restaurant was empty, no crockery on the tabels. They didn't have our booking. Food took over an hour to come out and when it did it came out dish by dish with a good 10 minutes inbetween and the food was cold in the middle, like it has been microwaved. Do not recommend!

It ok. Wasn't blown away by anything, and I probably wouldn't go back. Felt too brightly lit and clinical inside. Only people in there, and we waited 5 mins plus to be acknowledged!

Amazing thai food, tasted fresh and healthy unlike other thai restaurants i have tried around the area! I don't usually leave reviews on restaurants but after the excellent customer service I received and great food I just had to come on here to share. The girl who took my order on the phone was extremely helpful, polite and professional when helping us decide on vegetarian options for my wife. Would highly recommend to taste and try if you are foodies like me and my wife. Keep up the good work guys!

Did a last minute booking here at Christmas... There was noone in there... Such a shame as we had really tasty food... And great service.... People need to give it a try

Worst local Thai i have had a meal at, didn't even have veg for the curry when we went it, flavourless food. Will stick with the place in Westbury from now on!

TOO COLD We dined in. We were 4 adults. The seated area was very cold. I didn't take my coat off the whole time we were there and my friend was draped on her thick wooly scarf. Food tasted delicious but it was served on cold plates in a cold room so it was luke warm when the food was served and cold by the time we finished. Very disappointing! Service was okay, slightly quirky. All in all it was a shame the dining area was not warm, as we were very cold and needed to get out of there to warm up. Food was yummy tho. Maybe takeaway is best until it gets warmer outside...and they serve food on pre-heated plates.

Nothing fresh or authentic about the food delivered to me. Bland and greasy, nothing like proper Thai food. very expensive. I would not recommend to anybody.

I've been waiting for Davana Thai to open. I live a Thai Green Curry and this wa the best I've had since I visited Thailand more than 10years ago. Delicious and fresh. I had mine with Jasmine rice and a very reasonable large glass of white wine. I'll be back soon

Good food, but had a bit of a wait on arrival as they seemed short on staff. The spring rolls were delicious and the Pad Thai had lots of chicken.

Lovely, clean restaurant. Friendly staff, good choice of meat and veggie options on the menu. Reasonably priced, big portions, loads of flavour and freshly prepared - all dishes ordered were delicious. You can ask for less spice if required - loved that personally. Good service all round, lovely family business - will definitely be returning with more family members soon. Highly recommend *****

Really lovely Thai. Had it a few times since it’s been open and it’s brilliant. We have had takeaway and it’s always super hot still and very flavourful.

We've just visited this restaurant for the 2nd time and it was as superb as it was the 1st time! Fantastic food and service. We'll be going back again very soon.

Had better microwave meals and jeans and T isn’t very professional attire. There was loads of flies on their very white walls. £5.45 for small bottle of beer

The wine was good and that's it! The food was bland and tasteless. No ambience, no music. no pictures just white walls! We won't return sorry.

We often frequented the branch in Trowbridge which we thought was excellent. This new restaurant in Melksham is just as good the Thai green curry in particular is superb, today we had the best Chow Mein I’ve ever had. Great food all round and friendly family staff. Only complaint is the confusion of the menu, not very clear that there are choices of meat and rice to be had with all the curries where not stated. Will be back often !

We went to the new restaurant in Melkasham and I am glad I did. We tried the pad Thai and crispy chicken and it was a good meal. Lots of flavour and big portions. I do recommend this restaurant and we will be ordering again!!
