I’m writing this so other people can read the reviews and get a realistic idea about this hotel. I wish we had chosen the Premier Inn. Luckily staying only one night. No hot water on arrival, still no hot water on returning from dinner, reported to night manager who agreed to log but was unable to help. In the morning was told by receptionist that an engineer was only called that morning as this was the first time it had been reported - clearly untrue. No manager available until later in the morning and check out time 10:00. At least whole floor affected. Tried contacting someone more senior via email who was also unable/unwilling to help. No one answered phone number. After breakfast water warm enough to wash and check out time extended by 1 hr to allow us to shower before departure. Reading other reviews the lack of hot water is a recurring problem. Reduction in bill requested and turned down. Approx £109/night including breakfast is too much to pay for no hot water and I believe that management were aware that guests were being placed in rooms with no hot water. Parking £10/day not £6 as advertised on booking.com, reception seemed surprised as price increase was some time ago. Lift doesn’t work but you are only informed after you boo. Not suitable for anyone with limited mobility. Although breakfast is a buffet every thing is as cheap as possible, staff avoid customers and it is hard to get anything like yoghurt. Much better breakfasts are available in town if you have time to look. Take your own shower gel, shampoo and soap unless you are happy to use cheapest possible products. Tatty modern furniture, few plug sockets, overall in need of repair and refurbishing.

The staff are being let down by the outdated hotel. The evening dinner was very good and well presented. Breakfast, on the other hand, was all over the dining room with no direction as to where the tea and coffee were or what the layout was. The bathroom was really nice, but the room 102 was truly awful. The curtains were badly torn and very old and dirty. The wardrobe was a box with a mirror door. The lift doesn't work and hasn't done for quite a while.

We dined in for an Afternoon Tea for two. For the price of £16pp we were very happy with the food, the waitress was also friendly. But, we booked the day before at the hotel reception and were given the impression that it was a hassle. The interior of the hotel is out dated and chairs very uncomfortable.

Lovely Victorian Hotel, seafront position. Lovely staff, warm welcome. Parking available but not free. Great offers and Add ons when you book. Well run, good menu. Normally a lift is available but it's broken at the moment so make sure you can climb the stairs. I was on the 4th floor! Clean and tidy and the single en suite room was very comfortable. Very close to all amenities and attractions as right in the centre overlooking the sea. Enjoy!

Was here for a week with my partner very very disappointed 😞 the pictures on booking .com totally different to when we got to room then window frame was rotten and rain came in when we were out towels were put on window sill carpet was also full of stains I went and complained and said for what my partner had paid it was unacceptable they moved us to next door then it went from bad to worse goes to close curtains they were falling down windows were draughty then had a shower all lights went off so another complaint was made as for the holiday itself it was good my opinion this hotel needs to be closed down so I wouldn't recommend anyone to book here as the advertising on booking .com looks nothing like inside trust me ps.the breakfast wasn't upto much either Fawlty Towers

Had a lovely stay at this hotel, staff were very helpful, meals although not a big choice were very good. I found that the single room was bigger than expected and a great sea view something you don't normally get in hotels (usually put to the back overlooking bin's etc) just a shame it's decor was so shabby /grubby nothing like the website photo.

Definitely three star. Needs a little bit of a refurbishment . The best part was the hotel right next to beach and town. Lift had broken down. Stairs hard work when staying on top floor. OK, for youngsters

Like another poster, I was a little unsure what to expect given the mixed reviews and photos from previous guests, but I can absolutely say I would book to stay here again. I stayed on the 3rd floor, a sea view single and my son and his partner on the 2nd floor in a sea view double (fabulous view to wake up to). The receptionists were lovely and friendly upon arrival and very helpful, and the adorned piano and extra wide staircase made us think of just how Grand the building used to be back in the 1800's when it was built. Yes, the floorboards creak a little in some places, and yes, some parts need a little bit of a paint touch up and there might be a tiny few marks on the room carpet from spillages that have stained. . But the hotel is clean and you can see it is in progress of being updated where needed. My room had a very old fashioned twist knob that you put your key into which was a bit wobbly, and you push a little button in on the inside to lock it (sons room had a Yale lock as well). A bit wobbly, but it still worked and added to the character of the building of how it used to be in times past. The architecture and design of the building from the outside, you have to appreciate the history of the building. There did appear to be a more elderly clientele, so nice and reserved and quiet. If you want sterile and spotless modernity, maybe not the place for you. The rooms were very nice and we all commented on how lovely and comfy the beds were, with crisp white cotton sheets, pillow cases, duvet covers, and mattress protectors. So comfy my sons partner wants to enquire the make of mattress they had! The rooms have everything you need for your stay, and even a fan and a little heater in the wardrobe should you need them. And waking up to the sun shining on that beautiful view from your bed is the icing on the cake. Breakfast is help yourself in a very big magnificently high ceilinged room, and you are greeted by a lovely gent who checks your room number off a list, asks if you have had breakfast before and explains what there is and help yourself. There is yoghurt, fruit, cereals, toast, jams, tea, coffee, juice, and cooked > help yourself also to bacon, sausage (sons gf said they were really nice), hash browns (really nice!), fresh grilled tomatoes, scrambled egg, fried egg (these were a little tooooo under so snotty), and beans. A nice breakfast to get you ready for the day. Oh, and parking. Yes, it is £8 when you check in. But you also have that parking spot for the day afterwards as it's 24 hours you pay for. So once you've checked out you can still enjoy the beach etc a little longer. Most places you have to leave as soon as you check out so this is a nice little touch.

This is the 4th time we have visited the Grand atlantic in the past years. This is a wonderful old hotel situated in an excellent location within easy reach of all attractions, the beach and a short walk to the centre of town. The reception area is directly in front of you once you pass through the revolving doors. There are several steps at the entrance to the hotel which may cause a problem for the disabled. There is a chair lift to the left of the steps but this tends to be out of action most of the time. Having read many of the reviews and the nit picking within them i wonder why many people bother to go on holiday at all. If they are after perfection then go to the Hilton and pay extortionate prices. During our 7 day stay we found the receptionists to be excellent in looking after us and went out of there way to give excellent customer service. If you treat them with respect they will go out of there way to deal with any requests you make. We had the 3 course meal for £20 or there were 2 courses for £15.00. The food was excellent and the waiter service was first class. Special mention to Sam who was outstanding all week. The rooms come in all shapes and sizes. We had a double room with a sea view. Well worth the extra money. Many people complained about the £8 per day charge for parking. I think it is a very reasonable charge. If you go to the multi storey car park in Carlton Street less than 3 minutes away it's £13.00 for 24hrs.. Overall this building is a few hundred years old so you will find things to complain about if you want to spend your holiday time looking for them instead of enjoying all the good things the hotel offers.

Expected that the hotel is a little bit tired and overdue a refurb when booking so no surprises there. That aside it was warm, clean & cozy with great sea views and the staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast selection was varied & plentiful and spot on for fuelling you up for the day ahead. No complaints 😊

Worse wedding reception I've ever been to. Will NOT be getting married there. After coming from South sands it's like chalk and cheese. The Grand Atlantic was run down and you could tell they couldn't really care less. Everything looked chucked together and none of the staff apart from the girl at the entrance even acknowledged us. AVOID

Room 114: There must have been an event on as music started at roughly 7pm and didn’t finish until gone Midnight. We heard every beat, drum and word spoken from below our room, and loudly! We were not made aware of this prior to attending, otherwise would have reconsidered our options. At 23.30, I went down to reception and asked when it would be ending. One of the reception staff was drinking a beer and told me it would be ‘ending in a few minutes’. It was still ongoing at 00.10. We left the house at 7.00 that morning. The whole reason we chose to stay was to rest following the commute down and a busy day! Very very disappointed to pay for a hotel to sleep in…and then get no sleep. Should have just gone home.

I stayed one night here. It was super cheap and allowed dogs (at £15 per dog per night). The location was amazing - right on the seafront and very central. Parking on site was £8 per night. The staff were super friendly and really helped make it a welcoming place. The rooms were furnished similar to a Travelodge - clean and modern. It lacked some attention to detail in that some there were old screw holes that had been filled but could still be seen and it needed some touch ups with paint in places. Its obviously and old hotel as the floors were super creaky and loud. I would stay here again though and would recommend it for short stays. The steps at the entrance are quite steep. There is a stairlift for those with mobility difficulties, but no ramped access.

An old hotel with plenty of original features, unfortunately the only lift was out of order which made accessibility to the third floor difficult with heavy bags.

Rooms were good for what we paid on par really with a premier Inn to be honest, there was a hairdryer and a kettle a fan and small electric heater. the problem was the heating we had to pull out the electric fire in the wardrobe in the end, though we asked at the front desk they didn't want to come assist, no phone to call down to reception so if you wanted anything you had to go down, not enough tea and coffee for a weekend so had to ask for more at reception. But that's normal. It also had a fan and plenty of sockets next to the bed which was a brilliant upgrade to other hotels, we had two single beds which were comfy, the cream teas were much too be desired and seemed to have been frozen not fresh so wouldn't recommend as dry and rockhard outside. icy in middle. Yes I did speak to the hotel about this and was advised they would speak to the chef no refund given even though we didn't eat it. Make of this what you will. There was a good evening show whilst we were there cheesy yes but a lovely end to a long weekend. I would stay again but I will lower my expectations, and the cost was actually £30 pounds cheaper a night compared to other hotels, breakfast was lovely but we didn't have dinner as we ate out over the weekend. For a cheap clean stay yes I would recommend though please keep in mind it's a pet friendly hotel so if this isn't your thing I would avoid 🙂. The staff were lovely possibly just need a bit more training on dealing with problems and recognising complaints when someone's not actually shouting about them and trying to be reasonable lol.

What a friendly and welcoming pub in every sense. I dropped in on the walk home from an afternoon out with my girlfriend and we had a lovely drink together before continuing on our way. Today I visited alone during a bike ride and was made really welcome by the staff and regulars. They even let me bring my bike in the bar, ( it was a week day lunchtime). I had some well kept Butcombe with a fresh, tasty cheese and onion roll. Good thick cheese filling and sliced onion. Near enough to be a local so I will return. Maybe I will bring the fold up next time. I will need to sample the meals too. Thank you for a pleasant hour or so staff and customers.

One of the best cod and chips we have ever eaten. Fish was beautifully white and the batter light and crispy. So many chips we couldn’t eat them all. We used to live in Worle over 40 years ago, now reside in Devon. Was in the area for a visit yesterday and called in. Wish we lived closer and we could call in more often.

Having stayed in premier inns for well over 10yrs now for trips and stays away, I have to this one is the worst! Up arriving after navigating through the jungle to find the entrance (over grown signage, poorly literally back lane and no clear road markings), we finally arrived on the main entrance. Once in there was no working self service desks and no staff to be seen. After pressing the attention button for what seems like a life time (actually 10 mins), a staff member appeared. The room had no bottle opener that's standard in all premier inns, no extra duvet (only a used empty bag un the bed), no hdmi wall ports, no raspberry tea bags (again standard in rooms) and no plug sockets next to the beds. The phone single was shocking and wasn't mentioned in the extra hotel info on the app, the rooms was grubby and the window wouldn't close That said, it was a reasonably quiet night and the black out curtains worked. That was the only 2 positives. I can honestly say I will never return to this particular hotel as generally premier inns are great.

Went today for a Sunday carvery and if it was honestly the worst carvery we’ve ever eaten the meat was chewy and the potatoes were not cooked through so were raw in the middle disgusting slop. That’s the only way that you describe it. Certainly won’t be returning 😞 how can you charge almost £16 ahead when you get a decent carvery down the road for less at Brent house?
