Great atmosphere and ready for a drink to celebrate our first holiday in 5 years but terrible wifi and only accepting table orders by an app that kept loosing our progress. When we asked to order without the app was asked to stand by a till to be served.... however... 15x mins later we moved off elsewhere while another member of our party battled on to try and place an order.

First of all, the staff are great despite seeming to be run off their feet. This is the largest of the upstairs bars in terminal 1 and the busiest. For this reason orders can sometimes get snarled up. Plus points for the table service system, but there are often times when the terminal is unmanned and this can be a little frustrating. When the food does come out, it’s not bad at all! And for an airport, not as expensive as I was expecting - 15 quid or so for a decent meal. Not a bad place to chill while you wait.

Food and drinks excellent. However, waiter was extremely rude when delivering the drinks and just placed them at the other end of the table and walked off without acknowledging us….very odd

Staff annoyed when asked a question, table not very clean, food overpriced and not very tasty neither. Above all, order through phone ask for payment and TIP before you recive any service. If I'd know what I'll get, tip would be 0. I won't visit ever again

We had to ask more than 3 times for our latte, zero apologies, just an explanation as to how it works.

Have been waiting 20mins for a beer and a wine and still counting. Abysmal service where you have to order through an app, no one is cleaning tables, exorbitant prices, and then has the audacity to prompt for a tip!

Music is overpoweringly intrusive, app is as user-friendly as a brick to the face, no bar service and service is glacial at best. Not an experience I care to repeat

08/08/24: still 3 stars. Guinness £6.99 was good, small breakfast was good, but now £13.99. However, the rave music probably made to make you eat and drink faster was not welcomed at 0530hrs. It's not a rave! Was seated quickly and food came quickly. Weatherspoons-esque! 01/12/22: amended review and photos. Changed from 1 star to 3 stars. The breakfast was better, decent hash browns AND there's now a Beavertown Brewery Tap at the back of the Grain Loft. We got the Ultimate Breakfast £11.99 and a Neck Oil £6.99 1 Star: Through security, past the shops, and up the escalator at the far end. The Grain Loft, Terminal 1. Really poor! The app to order everything from was very basic and didn't allow amendments to breakfast. Had to order separate breakfast items, for another in my party, that all came as separate items. It's pretty obvious 'it was a breakfast'. Table 513. Guinness line was off. Bar server who brought food took it to a different table. When they said they hadn't ordered it, he was about to just walk off and leave it, till we realised and shouted him over. Clearly didn't seem the brightest spark, although it was 0530hrs. Breakfast was warm, bacon hard, eggs like rubber and not quite sure what the greasy liquified potato things were supposed to be. Sausage was poor quality, but the beans were nice! Not a patch of the Lion & Antelope in Terminal 3

Jude served us while we had drinks during a delay all I can say is Hey Jude, he didn’t make it bad. Take a sad delay and made it better. Remember to let Jude serve you drinks , Then he can start to make the delay better.

Urgh. Massively "airport expensive". 16.99 for a full English plus an extra 2.99 for two slices of toast to go with it. Cheap bacon medallion, small portion of beans. Single lonely "large" mushroom. Kids waffle with Nutella was good and reasonable for 2.99. 5am in the morning and they're playing banging dance tunes. Awful atmosphere.

Great food. Everything came out pretty fast even tho it looked very busy. Very nice and helpful staff always smiling. Especially Jude as he greeted everyone at the door.

We had some time to kill, and opted to stop here for a drink and something to eat. Not the best idea, dirty tables and had staff complain and argue with each other on who should wipe table. Avoid id you can, rather pop across to bar MCR . At least you get friendly service!

Hi I visited here on an outbound flight recently and overall the food was good. The service was terrible. So rude no acknowledgement whatsoever and when I asked for help as my phone doesn't work with table order barcodes the staff got frustrated and annoyed at me, you shouldn't be treated like that you expect staff to atleast pretend they want to be there and try help you out.

Popular bar. A bit of a laborious online ordering system and very slow service, expect to wait at least 15 minutes for a £7 beer. Their “leave us a Google review” link is for a different bar, in Glasgow.

Nearly £20 for the worst full English I ever witnessed in my 48 years. £10 for a bacon and egg barm. Wasn't even presented by salt bae. Band that with dance music so loud at 6am it practically gave me sensory overload. Sausages tha looked like they had been threatened with a a hair dryer. Also claiming they got the food in in 12 minutes which was a Blatant lie. Give your heads a wobble please 🙏

First Class Service from Kostas as always! My go to place when departing from Manchester Terminal One, great food and drink options and unrivalled service. Thank you Grain Loft and Kostas especially, perfect start to my forthcoming trip.

The chicken burger was over priced and very poor. Avoid if at all possible

You get about 12 chips for £4. Which came 10 minutes before the drinks, despite place being quiet.

Very quick service & food was tasty, but extortionately priced with baby portions that even the 8 year old laughed at!

Over 35 minutes of waiting for the ordered beer. The service did not respond to requests regarding the order, I had to go to the bar three times before the order was served. This is not what you expect when you come to a bar where a beer costs over £7.

Food a little overpriced, but be that as it may, it is a really nice restaurant to hangout at the airport. Service is really great and the staff is nice

Literally the rudest most unhelpful staff I've ever come across. One told me to ' move you're in the way' The apps don't work but they refused for 10 minutes to take my order. Lazy, rude and pointless them even working here. Don't bother. Go across to Giraffe.

Food was absolutely shocking, twice as bad as wetherspoon breakfast but 5 times more expensive. Eggs benedict was served with a crusty dried up poached egg. Just eat before you come or grab a snack. Staff are rude and miserable wouldn't ever eat here again

Stopped here for breakfast before an outbound flight. Strange place, atmosphere was great but the staff all looked miserable - put this down to the early time. They grunted when they brought our drinks over, still not sure what they said! Food was pretty good, no complaints there, but the prices were a joke. A fried egg roll was £8! Very expensive for what you get. Bar MCR and Giraffe are on the same level and not as expensive.

Forced to use the app to order anything, went to the bar to ask a question and was just told no bar service and the guy pointed me away. Food was bland I had ribs, but they were the kind you get from the cheap frozen food shop. Would not recommend eating here. Bland with poor service.

I don’t often feel compelled to leave reviews, especially of most airport restaurants, but we had a superb visit to the Grain Loft. Our greeter (Ravi?) was hugely helpful and welcoming, and helped us to sit with our toddler. The food arrived on time and the poached eggs were cooked perfectly. It was a nice place to sit and wait for our flight. Very impressed and grateful.

Ordered breakfast at £49.00, had to do it 3 times and payments taken from the bank but the order not received, was told to email customer service for a refund tried to explain that we were due to fly out in an hour and was told that's what you have to do, absolutely shocking customer service

5 years ago: Well kept (but expensive) real ales. Now [June 2024]: Awful, avoid! - Almost no real ales. - If you try and buy a drink at the bar you are told you cannot sit at a table. - If you try and order at a service point, the person walks away on another errand. - If you try and order via QR code, the pages take forever to load and it transpires that the price of a pint is more than extortionate. I walked away in favour of a Boots meal deal.

The food is very bad just the cheapest possible ingredients. Tesco value frozen chips. Tesco value nachos. Tesco value ketchup and sour cream on the nachos. The service was within the estimated time which was a positive
