We love this place and go quite often for breakfast, lunch or coffee and cake. Today we had flatbread and iced coffee. Really lovely setting, delicious food and very good waiting staff.

Met friends here for breakfast, food was amazingly varied something for everyone, I had a ‘posh breakfast’ which was healthy and filling. Staff are really friendly and attentive, background music great. It’s just a great place. And cakes look yummy, we are going back for afternoon tea 😃

Every Friday we go out for a breakfast, we don’t go looking for the biggest plateful but we do look for the tastiest, friendly service and pleasant environment. This is top of our list, don’t miss the opportunity.

Great food and service, and very accommodating. Good knowledge around allergens, and had a good selection of gluten free options too.

Peter and his team have developed what can only be described as the best cafe / restaurant in Suffolk with stunning views of the Countryside. Book your table ahead to avoid disappointment as it gets really busy at peak times. Huge car park, excellent service and good home cooked food from the chefs. Comedy and theme nights are highly recommended.

Lovely warm welcome for two cyclists. We had drinks, soup and cake and all were delicious. Lots of space inside and out.

Another fantastic lunch with 2 friends who had never been before. Even though it was fully booked we didn’t have to wait long for our drinks and food. WOW! sums this place up for me. I arrived at 3.20pm with 3 friends hoping for a late lunch before checking into a nearby holiday park. Unbeknown to us, they stopped serving the lunch menu at 3pm, to get ready for the evening service. We could however have drinks and cake (which looked incredible!) We explained the situation to the gentleman who spoke with the kitchen and we were welcomed with open arms to order from the main menu. Loved the fact the prosecco was ice cold and local (Southwold) Menu was amazing and spoilt for choice, the sourdough rolls with the burgers a complete bonus. Food was all freshly cooked and lovely, service fabulous and we were even privileged to be visited by Dave the cat :-) Had we not arranged the food for our little holiday, we would have returned. Next time definitely :-)

Glad we made the effort to visit with our dogs, they loved the Roo Run enclosure. We had coffee afterwards in the Cafe, it's a lovely place in a lovely setting. The sun was out and we sat outside with our dogs. The staff were really friendly and we will be back to try the food.

We visited several times during our stay at Weybread lake lodges and loved the place. The food, the service, the unique style were really impressive, and feel we will be frequent visitors to this lovely little hideout.

The cafe itself is in a gorgeous place surrounded by lovely kept fields. It’s dog friendly etc. Went for lunch today and service as always was quick. Staff are all lovely and attentive. Food was amazing as well. Presention is great and all around I was highly recommend going here for a meal whether it’s for breakfast lunch or dinner. All round is an amazing place for a nice lunch. 5*!!!

Hidden in the stunning Suffolk Countryside is this hidden gem. Peter and his fantastic team have developed probably the best cafe / restaurant and entertainment venue in East Anglia. Booking is highly recommended in advance as it gets very busy with locals and passing tourists.

Absolutely wonderful. We tried this place for a bank holiday lunch as it looked a good alternative to pubs or coffee shops. Very rural and quiet, which we liked, and you have to book, which makes sense as it means they know when to expect you and how many people as it is comfortable but not large. To be honest we didn't expect much, considering it to be an add-on to the equestrian centre but we were very pleasantly surprised. The staff were all on the ball and very friendly. The place has a genuine atmosphere which is warm and welcoming and the food was absolutley first class. We will defnitely be returning. Oh, and teh abckground music was cool too ( 70s/80s)!

Omg what a place : was scrolling through Facebook and found a Japanese night advertised at The good the bad and the hungry, I have heard so many positive reviews of this place but never been. We are off to Japan on holiday this year so I booked last minute and wasn’t disappointed. I was a bit worried about the cost to be honest at £29 per person I thought a bit pricey but that included 3 courses, Japanese lager and unlimited Sake Firstly the setting is stunning, was warm, friendly, great atmosphere and friendly staff. Secondly food was amazing, plenty of it, tasty and very well presented. Every dish was my favourite just couldn’t choose. My partner was the same he couldn’t choose and thinks it’s the best date night we have had so far. We will be watching out for the next pop up food night and recommend you do too !

Visited today for the first time and it was superb. I had the beef Sunday lunch. The veg was cooked perfectly, the beef melted in your mouth, the service was very attentive but not overwhelming. Great value, fantastic food, will definitely be back. Good work...

Who would have thought there was such a place in small village of Wingfield. We came across this lovely little find after seeing somebody mention it via a Facebook ad asking for place locally for breakfast. We had been out on a dog walk nearby in Hoxne and was looking for somewhere for a coffee and spot of lunch. We were very surprised when we turned up and was asked if we had booked!! Didn’t expect to have to book on a Thursday lunchtime but obviously because it is so popular best to book to avoid disappointment. Luckily for us they fitted us in. Covid restrictions apply, plenty of seating undercover. The service was excellent, it was nice to see the staff dressed very smartly, good first impressions. The staff were really polite and very friendly and made us and our two dogs welcome. The food was gorgeous, I had a tuna melt panini and my husband had Cod and Chips which again was gorgeous, you got a good size piece of fish which was good to see and the chips were proper home cooked chips. As a foodie, I would highly recommend this place and look forward to returning again soon. 5 stars. Credit to the owners and thank you Tom for a great service.

First visit, not my last. Lovely outdoor space, plenty of tables. Excellent staff, very attentive, very aware of Covid cleaning. Lovely food, excellent cakes!!!! Book ahead though, particularly at weekends where the place is even more popular, particularly with cycling parties.

Visited with a few friends for lunch, we received great service and there was a good selection of food on offer! We had two ‘good breakfasts’ which were tailored to our dietary requirements, and the goats cheese tart - all were lovely and served quickly.The waitress (Ellie) was polite and efficient even though they were busy, and Tom seated us and made our coffee’s quickly, checking in to see if everything was okay during the meal - offering us some well needed advice on the fabulous variety of delicious looking cakes on offer!! Would recommend thoroughly to anyone looking for somewhere to have a bite to eat locally - the surroundings are great to take in over a cup of tea!

I booked for a little celebration lunch for the birthdays of our dogs on a rainy Thursday lunch When we arrived they had decorated our table and put out some dog treats and balloons for them. The team were kind and relaxed and efficient. The food is delicious and everything is spotless and gleaming clean. The range of beautiful hand made cakes and gluten free cakes is just divine ! Went today for breakfast, food was delicious, great quality food. Staff were very friendly and got a high chair for our little guy. Cafe is dog friendly, for well behaved dogs. Have also been in a few times for takeaway drinks for work and the staff are always friendly and helpful.

Out for a bike ride with new friends, this is a place that they visit often and I’m glad we went there. It’s an interesting place – the owners are trying really hard to make the visit more than just a nosh stop. Good coffee.

Staying with friend who introduced us to this lovely rustic cafe as they knew the cakes were good and they certainly didn’t disappoint. A great selection so we had a scone with clotted cream and jam, they offered to warm the scone, not many places do this.. the hard decision was to choose between a rolo brownie and the lemon drizzle. Both looked delicious and ended up with the lemon drizzle. Service was great and alll good value for money. Will definitely visit again when next in the area

Had a rustic tuna sandwich 7.75 expected chunky bread bit of salad and maybe some crisps . What I got was a huge plate of salad dripping in dressing which wasn’t pleasant and tuna sandwich on normal bread shoved to the side, when mentioned to waitress and asked for plate to put said salad on ( which was not a problem) the chef came storming out demanding to know problem interrupting conversation I was having

Walked our normal 3 mile route to get here this morning and the place was heaving.We were acknowledged straight away by chance really as the crowd around the till was mighty. Nice gent told us to take a seat, our orders were taken nice and swiftly and the food, well we both had breakfast, full english, delicious sausages, nice and hot.

We often stop here half way round our 40 mile bicycle circuit. Hungry we are and favourite foods are generally the aubergine and potato cake or home made hummus. There is a special board and the light snacks are great. We find the seating arrangements give plenty of space and parties of cyclists can be accommodated. There is outside dining space under cover too. Cakes and excellent coffee or teas are available for a top up and help sustain our energy for the biking!‍♀️‍♂️

The staff were pleasant, attentive and efficient. Food was served quickly but didn't compromise quality. Had our newborn and toddler with us and she was given a half size milk shake, small cutlery, a cold plate (so many places don't think!), Straw and almost a chocolate for being good - except I asked not to as she doesn't have any! Just nice attention to the small things that made it all easy.

We walked from Brockdish to this cafe today. It was totally worth it, the coffee is great, I am very fussy with coffee. We had potato skins and an egg and sausage bap. The food was delicious, served really nicely and looked appetising. You can tell that they do not skimp on poor ingredients. We have been here a few times in the summer also and it really is a beautiful spot. The service has always been friendly and efficient and was the same today.

Came here for lunch, nice place to go. good choice on the menu, nice polite staff, ordered, our dishes started to arrive, one at a time... This was a little slow. All in all very nice. We left the car and walked the dog round castle and fields.

Popped in here for a hot drink, on a walk with my uncle and hound, when the rain was pouring down. Lovely place, clean and doggie friendly. Staff were great and gave Rufus hound a treat, as well giving us humans a yummy hot chocolate. Can't wait to return!!

Went here for a birthday lunch treat and what a treat it was. The Menu is varied, lovely traditional fayre like meat pies etc but also open sandwiches. We had between us a quiche special offer that came with a cake for afters, too good to resist, avocado on toast and fruit pancakes. Plus a side order of fantastic thick chips.

Lovely place, really nice food but missing a few small things. I ordered the Rarebit which should have come with onion relish, but it came with coleslaw, not massive deal but its not whats on the menu, also the waitress didn't ask us if we needed a knife and fork, again not a massive issue but surely it's basic?

Found another café that does Moussaka their as rare as hens teeth friendly June sat outside & soaked up the sun & Good coffee too

Visited with a group of friends for breakfast. All very satisfied particularly with the poached eggs. Nice choice of cakes and coffees, fruit tea a plus. Very relaxed and attentive service. All in a nice pleasant relaxed setting.

We where camping in the area and noticed the signs on the main road and called in for breakfast, great setting and cafe with lovely food very friendly staff giving good service and dogs are also welcome. Big thumbs up

We followed the signs from the main roads to this somewhat off-the-beaten-track location and were pleased to have done so. It is set up inside a ranch-style cabin with a definite mid-western US décor and furnishings. The menu has a variety of of dishes from breakfast, lunch, tea & snacks or you could just have a coffee and cake. The coffee is good and the prices are reasonable. For horse lovers, you even pass the livery stables and feed store on your way to eat. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the food tasted good. All in all a great find.

Rural, horses, tea and cake what more could you want. Have already told friends and will be visiting again soon.

The Good the Bad and the Hungry is a gem in the Suffolk countryside. A friend went for lunch a few weeks ago and said what a wonderful place it is. We went today for lunch. The experience as we walked in the door was warm and friendly with the aroma of coffee and freshly cooking food. The quality of the service was brilliant, drinks were served whilst we looked at the menu, food cooked to order and arrived in a very reasonable amount of time (something you would expect as it was cooked to order). The food was of a high quality and was very well presented and obviously fresh produce. A bonus is the location, it is situated within an equestrian centre, the surrounding make this a unique place to visit and eat.

We pass the signs regularly when going to Stradbrook but this was the first time we have tried it. What a quaint little place with such friendly staff.

Really good breakfast served efficiently and with a smile. Proper tea pot - perfect. Lunch menu is good and includes omelettes, which is great. Great value and is local for us so we can use as often as we like - YES.

I used to come here on a regular basis but the service has turned very slow and keep getting orders wrong can't say I'll be going back any time soon which is a shame as one of favorite places to go

This was recommended to us by my father who kept sneaking off for a crafty breakfast as soon as we had gone to work on his last stay with us.

Popped in after having seen the road signs and wondered where it was and what it did. Although I did not stay to eat, it was very fresh and clean. friendly staff gave us take away menus and my friend assured me the burgers were a big hit with her grandchildren. A bit of a 'find' hidden in the countryside.

My wife and I had a cycle ride with a coffee stop at The Good, The Bad and The Hungry. This is a lovely place and the staff were spot on. Perfect coffee in a perfect location - cycling is so good! My wife recommended that her cycling club use it for their club run stop which they have since done. Any other clubs out there - get this one on your rides list.

Love the good the bad and the hungry, friendly staff, good menu choices, value for money. My husband loves going to horse shows with me now (held at the same place) and shopping for animal feed. Amazing brunch today highly recommend a visit.

Many years ago Wingfield was seen as rather a rough place notwithstanding the glorious church and the Wingfield Barns. Today it also has two excellent restaurants, the De La Pole Arms and the Good Bad and the Hungry. I only become aware of the latter of through searching online for places to eat in the local area. Situated next to stables the newish building has been furbished nicely. Front of house good. The food excellent and a reasonable choice, plus specials. We couldn’t resist sampling the cakes on display as dessert. The restaurant is doing so well through word of mouth that it is going to be open not only seven days a week but also some evenings. I am impressed, Wingfield is a small village, and for many people who live in the North Suffolk, it is in the middle of nowhere.

My niece had heard lots of good things about this place. We had an excellent breakfast and was able to sit outside as the sun had come out! Lovely, friendly staff and food was fantastic, would definitely pop back when in the area again.
