What a wonderful little pub in a beautiful setting! Coming from Aotearoa NZ, I found this magical little corner of Suffolk to be a quintessential English pub, and the weather was perfect for sitting in the garden as the sun set. What awesome people with beautiful standards: sourcing local produce, cooking great food, and creating a community atmosphere.

What a find! I was just looking for a place to pitch my tent for the night but found this gem of a community project pub with a wild flower meadow where you can camp. Plus the was a biker night to boot! The Ghanaian curry was amazingly delicious 😋

It was my first time at cross keys and I feel inspired to leave my first ever Google review! Menu was simple but everything appealed. I settled for a recommendation from another diner…. Ghana chef- amazing mackerel curry, really incredibly tasty with different textures and excellent value. Washed down with locally brewed lager. The smaller bar was buzzing with a darts competition going on in a neighbouring room and the main room was filling up with some local talented folk arriving with an array of instruments for the fortnightly open mic… It had such a friendly feel. The music and poems recited were wonderfully calming and entertaining. Thank you for creating this unique and wonderful place. May you continue to thrive!

I did not buy anything from here however, after running into some car troubles I pulled into the car park and asked the owner for some bottled water as my car was overheating, so he got some old bottles and filled them with tap water for me for free! seems like a really nice place and very friendly staff. :)

Went for brunch today. Thought it was very nice. Also thought we’d come back for lunch or dinner one day and include it as a stop on long country walks. Very friendly staff, good food and a nice feel to the place. Will be nice in the summer when we can sit outside too. It’s been remodelled since it was last open under the last owners. There’s even a piano in the hallway.

Amazing people, amazing venue. Next level in every respect. I had the tumeric latte and it was exceptional. There was option to have with dairy or oat milk. I didn't eat myself on my visit, but the food that others were eating looked divine! Would recommend checking this hidden gem out for yourself!

Genuinely a wonderful place to spend an evening. Food, drink, staff and atmosphere are always second to none. Have had some great times down here with family and friends. Ps. asked for the smash chicken burger. Even if it's not on the menu staff will know what you are asking for 10/10

Meet there every two weeks with our biker family. Excellent service, such a warm welcome by all staff. Food is all locally sourced and absolutely delicious. Loaded wedges out of this world. Amongst a variety of temping meals off a regular changing menu. They go above and beyond to accommodate everyone’s needs. A credit to a community run up and coming venue. Great respect and thanks on behalf of ourselves and the extended biker family ❤️

Firstly how great it was to hear that this fantastic old pub was being reopened after so many years . From a personal perspective being a lifetime biker I'd heard many stories about many friends and folk get-together regularly as bikers back in the seventies primarily and into the eighties when I was old enough to start visiting. Club 76 had much history there and still talk to guys who were very much part of that era .. Fat Bob and his wife ran the place I trust and they are well know enough around these parts . Anyhow moving forward the fantastic guys who have sunk money and much time in bringing the keys back to life are all fantastic and doing A great job from all aspects .. We as bikers have been uniformly welcomed back and every two weeks have enjoyed some incredible nights with great numbers at the venue with excellent service and food and drinks Made some very good friends with the staff along the way and respect from both sides is absolutely spot on.. Loads of parking for all vehicles and a cracking seating area outside and in... They also have varied entertainment throughout the weeks and cover most interests with more and more ideas along the way .. Overall its support that keeps places like this going and it will continue especially from us bikers and trikers .. Long live the cross keys Cheers guys

This place has everything that I love to experience in a pub - great food and drink, staff who seem to take pride in what they do and who genuinely engage with you, and importantly, a community feel about the place that is warm and welcoming . The quality of the food was exceptional for the price and it was particularly pleasing to learn that the ingredients are sourced to minimise food miles and help the local community. Bravo!

Local pub to me and it’s absolutely what everyone in the area hoped it would be. Friendly vibe, community space and so comfortable to sit for an afternoon Bev or for the evening. The staff are super friendly and it feels like home away from home. So proud of the work that went into rebuilding this pub for the community and thankful for everybody who has worked hard to make it the pub we all hoped we’d have back again ❤️ food is delicious, healthy and great value and the drinks are all locally sourced. We’ll done everyone involved!

It's nice that it's open again. It's definitely a different pub experience that's different from the typical gastropub / country pub vibe. It is certainly a valuable space for the locals. We had some nice food there and will be happy to visit again.

A brilliant community hub pub, with a different offering to the norm - fresh, healthy, locally produced and organic food served by genuinely happy people who really care about what they are doing! The drinks are also from local providers where possible (the cider is great!), served alongside ethical brands such as Karma Cola. The space is clean, homely and inviting and the atmosphere is chilled and relaxed; there is parking, a garden, cosy snug rooms and a meadow area with options for camping. During the non-pub hours the rooms are used for classes including yoga and ladies choir, so that the Cross Keys is more than a traditional pub. Many staff are volunteers as they believe in the vision, and there is great conversation. A model that could be rolled out all over the country!

Sadly, since our last visit, this cafe has gone downhill. The menu has become more limited and the cake options have been reduced, which is a shame as the selection of cakes used to be wonderful. The idea of serving food on a wooden block covered in greaseproof paper is not my idea of fun, but maybe it helps to reduce the washing up ? The only cake offering for gluten intolerance is a chocolate brownie. Do people think that is all we eat, as it it the only offering in most poor cafes. The decor is not as clean as it was and it seems a bit run down. I am guessing that the only people who use this cafe now are people who are there for meetings. What a shame, as this used to be a favourite, but not any more!

Visited on Mother's Day, and it was a lovely treat. We sat upstairs where it was nice and quiet. The pancake selection of both saboury and sweet was fantastic and the fact they can offer GF and vegan options too is great. Our lovely waitress also said they could adapt many of the others on the list too. We also ordered milkshakes (so great!) but next time I'm trying the hot chocolate. In fact I want to try the whole menu so I'll definitely be coming back on repeat. Such a unique little place, love it!

Staying in area and booked dinner. Lovely. Small friendly pub. The food was so good. Recommend the pies. Huge portions so don’t expect to have room for pudding. Really friendly staff. Apparently do takeaway fish and chips on Fridays £10. Would have gone back for that.

I cannot rate the service, food and good vibes this place provides. You are always made to feel welcomed. Food is good quality and portion sizes above average for the price. Dining within the church adds to the atmosphere and they have a wonderful children's play area my son loves.
