Bit into the chicken ball, tasted it and had to actually spit it out. I hate to leave a bad review but you need to do better, it’s not even edible

If I could give no stars I would it tastes like a 12 year old English girl made it experimenting in food tech at skl. It’s absolutely terrible non authentic NO FLAVOUR AND NOT FRESH VEGETABLES!

Avoid at all costs!!!! The food was nearly an hour late and was the most vile food I've ever tasted and I've had my fair share!! The chow mein had no soy sauce or seasoning. The beef in oyster sauce was rank and the chicken balls was almost burnt. The only half decent thing was the spring rolls. If you appreciate decent food then stay well away from this place as you won't get that. If I could I would give this place no stars

I don’t usually write negative reviews as it’s difficult for a business to grow. But I rather help the public out with my honesty. The food was actually too dry, very salty and very oily. If I was you, please don’t waste your money on this.

the soup looked so daunting that i won’t eat it … i’m genuinely fearing for my health after ingesting some of this food because of how disturbingly bad it looks and tastes. Pls do better , plus service was not good. The soup ? this has to be some sort of attempt on me it looks so bad😭😭😭😭😭

Absolutely amazing food. Having grown up in China, I can genuinely say that this is the most authentic Chinese restaurant in Chelmsford. I tried this a while back and wasn't too impressed, but I believe it is under new management now as this is the next best thing in Chelmsford! Well done Good Season Express! I’m sorry but this is the worst Chinese I’ve ever had. The chicken balls were really thick gooey batter, soggy dumplings, dry rice and the duck pancakes were not nice! They need to rethink there cooking - awful.

Ordered first time through Uber eats, shredded beef with peppers and onions, well, 3 small pieces of beef, 2 slices of peppers and just onions in sauce is what I got. Rice was warmish and not tasty, my young daughter didn't want to eat it and she begged me to order her fried rice, because she ate previously from a different restaurant and she loved it, but refused to eat this one.

Ordered takeaway over two hours ago and it’s still not arrived. Currently keeping my 9 year old awake for her dinner. Calling the restaurant we are told 15 minutes on the first call. Then they ignore all calls since. Finally arrived and driver didn’t apologise

Total waste of time. Ordering prawn chow mein over cooked out of date prawn, over cooked out of date calamari, cooked in out of date oil . I was sick immediately need to close down. Really disappointed. And I was so hungry as well. Stay far away this is a WARNING !!!!!

If I could give this 0 stars I would. I never normally like to complain but this is one of the worst meals I’ve ever had. The delivery took 1 hour and a half when it was meant to take 40 mins. When we got it, my boyfriend got burnt plain rice instead of egg fried rice, and the chicken was slimy. The spring rolls were greased with fat, so much so I couldn’t eat them. It’s very worrying this place is still open, as the reviews are all one star and lots of reports of food poisoning. I don’t understand how you can treat people so poorly.

The food was the worst I’ve ever had . Send a wrong dish with a dish missing. The chicken balls were black the rice looked like it had been scraped from a saucepan and had black bits in it all in all appalling

Ordered on deliveroo, food was 45 mins late, had to call multiple times. They lied to deliveroo that food had arrived 30 minutes before it actually did. The food itself was cold, soggy and tasted reheated. I tried to get a refund but because they lied… I can’t. Shame to see food to to waste but I won’t be eating it as I don’t want food poisoning.

The worst experience ever. Nothing about what I ordered was great. The duck meat had more of onion than the duck meat . Don’t even get me started on the king prawn Choi mien, it was not worth eating. Overall it was a total waste of money. I would not advise going there.

One of the worst takeaways I have ever ordered from! I spent nearly £30! And I had to wait over 2 hours when calling the restaurant they was declining my calls. Everything smelt disgusting. Please please never ever order from this place again.

Food very sub standard. Both myself and my Fiance have had bad stomach problems 24hrs after eating. Food didn’t taste fresh, Curry Sauce watered down, Mushrooms were uncooked, items missing from order, avoid, avoid, avoid!

I have never made a complaint in my life but this food is not even edible I promise you now do not waist your money it really is bad food and I was so looking forward to my Dinner 🙁

Waited 2 hrs for delivery worst Chinese food I had in my life bear in In mind I work in a Chinese restaurant can only describe the chicken curry as chicken swimming in oil omg unediable also got salt and chilli chips a bag of soggy chips and burnt onions .how is this place still open.im over visiting from Ireland waste of 20pounds

Waited an hour and a half for the worst food I've ever tried. Wasn't what I ordered. Chips were indescribable. Food and service was awful. Demanded a full refund but only given £10 and told to report it to the police!! Never using again and would strongly advise anyone ordering from there not to bother

Ordered as only Chinese left open for delivery after a drink up i normally eat anything after a drink but even aftet a drink i couldn't eat this waste of money food

The food took 2 hours to arrive from the time of ordering and although we were given an ETA on ordering it was still 3/4 hour later than this time and was luke warm, had to be reheated. If it had been any later we would have refused it and ask for a refund. Food wasn't up to the standard we are used to from other resaurants in our area. First and last time we use them.

Order took 2 hours to arrive. After 3 phone calls and our delivery driver having an accident with the food. We called again to be told the order was on its way. 30 minutes later and they stopped answering the phone. The order did eventually turn up but they missed my rice off of the order.

Took an hour and a half to turn up. They don’t answer the phone. No sauce on the Kung Po chicken, watery curry sauce, hard rice and greasy see through spring rolls. Rancid slop that I wouldn’t feed to a dog. Makes you wonder how they make enough money to keep afloat.

terrible, expensive for microwaved food! beef in black bean just all veg, 'egg fried rice' if you can call it that is just long grain rice with soggy bits of egg not fried at all

Really bad! “Special fried” rice was just plain white rice - pork and chicken were too dry to chew. About 4 peas in the entire dish and totally tasteless. After a couple of spoonfuls it went in the bin. How on earth are they in business. So disappointing. Would never order from again.

2021 update - oh dear. I’ve reviewed my stars to just 1... we will not be back. One word : AWFUL March 2020 - We have ordered 3 Fridays running and .... what a mixed bag of comments I have! They forgot our S&S chicken but they were very prompt to get them out to us!! I’m not complaining here but I need to say “the chefs are obviously all different from week to week” My chicken curry hasn’t been the same twice!! I’ve ordered it each week. First week it was soooo nice. Just chicken with onions (how it SHOULD be). Second week totally different ingredients (with horrid Dried peas and 3 baby mushrooms) and not much curry sauce. Third week was ‘ok’. Random horrid peas again, onion and not much sauce again. Won ton Soup has two wontons in chicken stock Pancake rolls are a bargain (you get two) but they are undercooked and not crispy enough Portion sizes vary A LOT!! If they could organise the staff, portion size and the ingredients we would all be happy. Peas do not belong in a curry! I’m not giving up on this place. I like it (with some buts) We are trying again this week. Fingers crossed that we are impressed again

It is without doubt the worst Chinese I've ever had the chicken was raw the service was so so bad I would stay away and the lady who takes orders also cooks and delivers cross contamination to the max and when I called to say about raw chicken she called me a liar please if you read this take note please please don't waste your hard earned money

Delivery took almost 2 hours. Tiny portions. Low quality food. [the best part of the meal was the prawn crackers]. Will stick to Happy Gourmet in future. I had King Po Chicken and it literally came with a sachets worth of sauce? There wasn't enough sauce to coat even half of the chicken? And the chicken was soft and rubbery.. Just a really, really strange meal..

Most disgusting food I have ever smelt let alone tasted! My order came cold covered in grease and stuck of fish. Called to speak to the restaurant and got sworn at when we asked politely for the food we ordered and got the phone put down on us. All food tasted the same and was so disgusting it all went into the bin. DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS RESTAURANT!!!!! Waste of money

Food was absolutely disgusting. Tried to nicely speak to the lady who was dealing with the delivery and refused to give a refund. Very very greasy. Ordered a chicken with cashew nuts and didnt even have cashew nuts in it and even if there was it wasn’t nice and the sauce was just watery grease. The dumplings were like rubber. The chips you could literally hear snap. The chicken balls were literally dollops of batter some not even having chicken in them. Really not happy. Ended up going through just eat and the restaurant wouldnt even comply with them. My order costed £29.80 and ive only managed to get £15 back because the restaurant refused anymore. Feel completely robbed of my money.

Terrible service, terrible communication, over two and a half hours to deliver.....gave up waiting and cancelled order. Glad it never arrived as I see many many other people haven’t had a good experience with this take away. Would never use again not recommend to anyone!

Absolutely shocking service. £175 food order ordered at 7.30pm for an 8.30pm delivery time, time comes and goes and no food. Phone them and apparently they booked the wrong delivery time, it will be half an hour more. That time comes and goes too, finally they turn up 3 hours after the order was placed. I phoned them 26 times in total, spoke to the person 4 times and she cut me off twice. When the food did arrive it wasn’t the complete order either. Absolutely disgusting service and do not recommend them. Apart from a lame apology all they offered us was a 20% discount on my next order, you wish!! Avoid at all costs.

This establishment is obviously a front for another business. Because they don’t know how cook anything correctly. I ordered Singapore vermicelli rice noodles. It’s was just noodles. They even managed to balls up salt and spicy ribs! The dish consisted Of third rate ribs with loads of onions and carrots 🥕😂. The food was absolutely disgusting.

Never normally review. Used to be ok food but ordered 6 months ago and was awful. The lady is on her own running the front and kitchen. 6 months later thought I’d give it another try.. still the same. Food quality gone down the drain. Will now never go back.

To start off with the crispy chilli beef portion was pathetic, coming at half the size of any other Chinese in chelmsford. The chow mein had no flavour at all and you could tell that everything was done using the same fryer which is bad for health and safety in case people have any allergies. A spring role is usually my favourite part of q Chinese but these were soggy and cold they were definitely reheated. With the price being the same to any other Chinese in chelmsford, I will be going somewhere else. I do not recommend!

RAW CHICKEN, LATE DELIVERY AND A LYING OWNER....... Made an order last night via justeat but upon receiving the food which arrived late it become apparent that the chicken was still pink in places. Unfortunately we couldn't get hold of the restaurant so decided to get in touch with Justeat who also could not get hold of any one until 5pm today. They werw able to speak to the owner who claims the chicken is pre cooked and they simply re heat and batter it but it is all cooked already so it was impossible for it to be undercooked and she demamded to come and look at the chicken herself. This was not a problem for me and just eat passed this information back to the owner who very quickly changed her attitude and said she didnt have the time to come (about half a mile away) and also that I have done this to her many times before. JustEat have gone through my 209 orders and can confirm this is the only time I have used these as I normally use Happy Gourmet or China Garden (highly rate both of these) I also pretty sure I know where I eat from. JustEat have logged all this with their compliance team and advised to speak ti FSA monday with regards to this and let them deal with the matter which will be done. I dont appreciate being called a liar but to try and call my bluff you are joking.

Wow. Would give zero stars if i could. This is the worst Chinese place in Chelmsford. I ordered from Hungry House, the food was of very poor quality. The sweet and sour sauce taste extremely processed and had an almost chemical taste even. Also swallowed a hair and pulled it out of my mouth whilst i was eating my Singapore noodles and found a hair on the inside of the container of the sweet and sour sauce. I first inspected it to make sure a hair of my own hadn't fallen out and after looking at it, realized it had to have come from a staff members hair, the color was not the same hair color as mine, so immediately stopped eating and phoned up the store. After explaining to the woman who must be the manager,she said that i should not be finding that many hairs in my food and so she could only refund half of my food which is absolutely ridiculous. I shouldn't be receiving any food that contains someone else's hair in it much less more than one, but I did. I explain that i should not have to pay for any of the food as i found hair in all of my food but after the woman choosing to argue with me about the fact that i shouldn't find so many hairs in my food as the reason why it couldn't possibly be hair from an employee and I got frustrated and just told her to refund half of the meal, and then hung up. A place where food is being made to be given to other people should not be Ok with having any hair whatsoever show up in their food. As someone who has worked in the food industry, having a guest or customer find hair in their food was always extremely alarming and important measure were taken so that it would not happen again. Will never be recommending this place to anybody. Disgusting food, standards,and customer service.

My food was cooked and delivered with in 20 minutes of ordering to which I live 10 minutes away from the restaurant you could tell the food wasn't freshly cooked to which we had to bin over half of it as it tasted horrible !!!!!!!!!!!

Ordered at 6:10 didn't get it till 8 o'clock it's was cold and when I rang the restaurant the man told me he didn't speak English very disappointed They have gone down hill

After waiting an extra 30 minutes for our meal to turn up the meat was cold. The beef was very chewy and the sauce looked like snot (to be blunt). The chicken was dreadful 95% of it went in the bin so me and my girlfriend went hungry. DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE

The food was really delayed and when I called I couldn't understand what the issue was but turns out there had been an accident and traffic was bad so it wasn't their fault. The food is tasty from there so I would order again. Recommend duck and mushrooms and udon noodles

I'm not a fan of watery sweet n sour sauce or lemon sauce. I found their excuse for lateness poor. Telling me you'll be leaving in 15 minutes but actually it was 35 minutes was a bit cheeky

Disappointing when you e paid for food to be delivered to then have to reheat when you have people over, kind of loses the convenience...
