Excellent deli which now sells Pommery Moutarde de Meaux, the best mustard in the world at 2/3s the price one pays online. Thank you very much for getting it in and thank you, likewise, for being a proper business that listens to customers and actions their requests. Really impressed. Greg

We visited yesterday and the deli is delightful, full of tasty produce from a massive range of artisan cheeses , cold meats ,salads, anti pasta & baked goods. The shop stocks an array of desirable local fine foods.I recommend the smoked salmon with dill cream cheese & salad in focaccia (made by Haxby bakery, ).

We recently ordered a lunch for a work event from the Good Food Shop, Dan made the ordering process very simple and the food arrived on time. As ever the quality of what was put together was of a very high quality and was enjoyed by all. It was great to find this service aswell as the fantastic shop.

One of my favourites. Simple but delicious sandwiches, lush desserts, and well curated in terms of pantry items, cured meats, and cheese on offer. Staff super nice too.

Small shop filled to the brim with exciting goodies. Fab scotch eggs and sausage rolls, and some unusual cheeses as well as the yummy Yorkshire Blue, which is the reason I went there. Don’t miss the focaccia with olives and onions ….. The price was right too!

We have been here a few times and enjoyed our food! Such lovely ingredients and food options. However, the salads can be a little tasteless and sandwiches a bit rushed so they sometimes can be a bit disappointing. But on the whole it is a nice place for a spot of lunch and go pick up some lovely grocery bits! Definitely worth a visit.

Used the Good Food Shop catering service for a private function and was so impressed. Had a party for 60 people, service and communication with Ruth was great beforehand, advised us on numbers and costs etc. Everyone at our event commented on how amazing the food was, can’t recommend them enough. Brilliant little deli with a surprisingly large selection of stock. Excellent cheese counter - I'm very lucky to be able to have this shop nearby to use regularly.

A regular favourite, the food is delicious and fresh, the options are varied and reasonably priced and the staff are always lovely. Highly recommend!

I contacted the Good Food Shop quite last minute and they were able to cater for my event. One of the party was gluten free and I was provided with lots of reassurance and options for them. The range, quality and quantity of the food was well worth the money. The food was expertly packed and presented and tasted absolutely delicious. There were lots of lovely details and touches. I would highly recommend for catering events and celebrations. I can't wait to go back.

Looking for a light lunch or a "picky tea" the this place can provide cheese, meats or a sausage roll ( well several types from root veg to hog roast). There is a mix of local and imported food, but all of it top end quality. It's a useful addition to the Bishy road stops and gives options when staying on the Rowntree Park CAMC site.

What a joy to live in walking distance to this deli! An absolute haven for foodies, with the most wonderful bread selection, sandwiches, salads, sausage rolls, cheeses and so much more. I have loved every single thing I've brought from them and only wish I could get lunch here every day!

This is my second visit to the Bishy Road area. First sandwich from the Pig and Pasty was excellent, today’s sandwich from the Good Food Shop was equally excellent, and just a little bit better!

Love it here! I come all the time as I live nearby. The salads are always fresh and lovely, and they have different lovely homemade soups every few days. Couldn't recommend it more highly

We ordered some Italian snacks for a corporate event and The Good Food Shop were more than happy to help us. They delivered these snacks to the venue for us, and were able to create these bags within a tight deadline. Really helpful staff and easy to contact.

I went in to purchase a few essentials for the weekly shop. Lovely atmosphere and great service. Products taste delicious too.

Absolutely love this place. The sourdough is the best I've come across. The deli also has a lot of choice, I particularly love the vegetarian pâté they sell. Staff are all lovely and friendly.

I ordered a food hamper for my son's 40th birthday. Ruth at the Good Food Shop York was extremely friendly and helpful and made some good suggestions for what to include. A selection of delicious cheeses, pickles, olives, crackers and cured meat was nicely put together at a very reasonable price. My son was delighted. Thank you so much!

Fantastic selection of cheeses and chutneys as well as beautiful fresh-baked bread and pastries - the almond croissants are like crack.

I needed a few cheeses for a meal and was on Bishy Road and popped in here as I'd spotted the cheese counter. Great service, terrific cheeses (even though it was late afternoon and they were running low on the selection). I'll be back 👍

High quality everything and the nearest place to home that sells haxby bakery bread 😍. Great sandwiches too which are always on the table if I'm working from home. Just tried their picnic box too and it was absolutely fantastic. Couldn't have finished it all if we tried but will keep well in the fridge for snacking over the weekend. Yum!

Highly recommend this shop. It literally has every type of food you need, from decent cheeses to saffron or shop made humous. Nice and friendly staff too. What more could you want.

Pedí una cesta para comida y para mi fiesta de cumpleaños sólo 5 libras por cabeza nos dieron más comida de la que podíamos comer, de calidad excepcional. Estaba lleno con cuidado y atención en un 'cool' y había una selección gloriosa. Cuando llegas a una edad donde quiere que los huéspedes se sientan como he comido bien, no sólo en relación tesco bovino bocaditos, la tienda de buena comida es exactamente donde tienes que ir! También tomó un montón de estrés de la ocasión que he sacado de la nevera y se sirve con aplomo! Gracias enorme ir a Carol para organizar esta para mí, no puedo recomendar la buena comida tienda lo suficiente.

He evitado este deli durante un año, pero la desesperación me hizo entrar. Esperando lo peor, recibí lo mejor. No sabía que la tienda había sido modernizada recientemente y me brindó una experiencia completamente diferente: una gran bienvenida, mucha ayuda y un ambiente de 'puedo hacerlo'. Quería un plato de queso para 8 personas y el resultado superó con creces todas las expectativas. Quesos cuidadosamente seleccionados, perfectamente envueltos y una maravillosa selección. Definitivamente seré un cliente habitual allí a partir de ahora.

Esta es una Deli local fantástica, ahora está bajo nueva administración, tiene un excelente servicio al cliente y todavía tiene comida increíble. Me encanta la selección de quesos (Black Bomber es la bomba) y las nuevas selecciones de pasteles. Increíble paraíso de comida para un entusiasta.

This place is so friendly now! Also great tasting healthy food. I love the soup! It's like a mini meal! And of course the cakes, and I've had some yummy cheese and the smoked salmon was delicious. Great that I can buy just a small amount and not so much packaging. I got a delicious birthday cake there for a friend too (don't tell her I didn't make it!)

Please try their scotch egg. Nice flavour and good size. It tastes good as it is cold but I always take it home and put it in the oven. It's more nicer.

Parte de la galardonada "Bishy Road" (Bishopthorpe Road) variedad de tiendas locales, la buena comida deli Shop es una fantástica con un montón de ingredientes, cultivados y los bienes producidos. Hay un montón de pan fresco y bollería, quesos, pasteles y muchas otras cosas buenas para su larder. Siempre nos hacen una línea bee para este lugar cuando en Nueva York.

Vale la pena pasear fuera de la ciudad para una visita no menos porque la buena comida Tienda es central a la experiencia Bishopthorpe Road. Llevar comida para un picnic es excelente, que venden pan y queso y una encantadora variedad de ensaladas y sándwiches. Para aquellos que buscan una rápida y sencilla cena de pesto y luego, su pasta italiana decente es difícil secos a superar.

I am a regular at the good food shop on Bishopthorpe Road but after todays experience i will be no more! After ordering my usual pitta bread i came away from there very dissappointed, As i make my way back to my office with pitta bread in hand (feeling somewhat lighter than usual) i was looking forward to my usual lunch, when i opened it up it had 3 pieces of tomato and 6 chickpeas and a smidge of coleslaw in there, it was that flat that you would almost think that i had dropped it on the road and it had been run over by a bus!!! i know theres a recession but please YOU CHARGE ENOUGH!!!! tip of the day: if your feeling a bit peckish, avoid the good food shop pittas at all cost. and they used to be soooooo good!
