Never had a bad meal here. Definitely the best Chinese food in Haslemere in terms of food quality and taste.

Woza!! Their food is absolutely delicious 😋 I could eat it everyday. It's my place of choice for weekend takeaways.

My husband and I were looking for an Asian restaurant in Haslemere and stumbled across this restaurant. Do not be put off by the unwelcoming exterior! After some reservations we decided to eat in and was most surprised by the bright and welcoming interior. The food was excellent along with the service.

Spent £100 on a takeaway for a birthday celebration for 7 people it was not at all the quality we were expecting from this restaurant we ordered our food at 5pm and were told to pick it up in half an hour which we did it was all boxed up ready so it wasn’t hot the salt and pepper chips were just chips the plain chow main noodles were supposed to have bean sprouts in they did not and were burnt and too dry to even swallow the 2 portions got thrown away none of the dishes we ordered were great and most were not as described on the menu none of us have eaten from here in a while so were expecting much better quality tasty food which it was not very disappointing

Probably the better of the Chinese takeaways in the area but is steadily declining while the price is at an incline. I don't use it as much as I once did.

Nothing to complain about the food but the service in the restaurant is not great. Rather stick to just the take away service.

Sadly we did not enjoy the meal. The Sweet & Sour Pork Hong Kong Style could not be eaten by anyone in the family of 5. The batter sadly had an unpleasant texture. Years ago it was the same, but I thought we could give them a another chance. But sadly it was the same. Will not be returning. You try it for yourself and see.

This place was run by some Malaysian Chinese people for years and was very decent, but seems to have changed hands a few times in more recent years and has been very inconsistent. After a long absence we tried again six months ago and the fried rice was SOGGY! Then my wife tried again recently and the fried rice was absolutely fine. So last night we got take away again, and again the fried rice was SOGGY!!! Absolutely awful!! How can a Chinese take away ruin fried rice!!?? They were busy on a Friday night, which might have made the difference, but this absolutely seemed like it had been pre-cooked and refrigerated. I also specified very clearly not to add water chestnuts or green peppers in the yellow bean chicken (he was clear as he asked if it was an allergy and I said no, we just really dislike those two ingredients) but then when we got home we found it was FULL of them!! So a shockingly bad experience all around. I am only giving them two stars as I hope they will get their act together. Maybe we’ll give them one more chance in another six months or so, but three strikes and you’re out.

Dining in is always excellent here. I'd recommend it.

This is a fantastic little restaurant in Haselmere. It’s atmosphere is great with a cosy feel to the restaurant. As for the food it was brilliant. The crab claws were delicious, as was the garlic and honey pork! We will definitely be returning.

Can be hard to find a good and reliable Chinese these days, ordered from here a few times now and we are very impressed and will be returning regularly. The most friendly, caring owners and the food tastes amazing and is made quickly.

We began ordering from this place since their hygiene rating went back up. The first takeaway was good. However, on the second order our dishes had several pieces of metal wire in them, possibly remnants of metal pan scourer. This was quite disturbing as it could have posed quite a hazard if anyone of us had not noticed and accidentally swallowed the wire. A real shame because we thought the quality had improved, but this has put us off ever returning.

Nice cozy place, very big menu 100+ things on it also great prices on everything. Definitely reccomended.

We regualy go here but after all the press outside last night we gave it a miss. Apparently some footballing directors of note eating there which was a shame as we were looking forward to going In.

Very soggy Hong Kong style chicken and prawn. Wet and no crunch. Disappointed, had to leave it. Beef was good. Free prawn crackers

Old school Chinese takeaway. Brilliant

Living locally we decided to celebrate my birthday, at the Good Earth, with 2 of my wife's grandsons. What a good decision it was with a bubbly atmosphere excellent service & food at highly competitive prices. As there were 4 of us we chose one of the set meals which was just right for everybody with plenty of food for us to tuck into. The staff were in top form providing unexpected entertainment throughout the whole evening. To complete the evening, just before curfew, the staff kindly gave the boys a couple of bags of prawn crackers to eat on the way home. What a treat - Thanks to all staff at the restaurant !!!

just had a take away after opening following the lockdown. Phoned the order through and was given a time to pick up..easy and food was so yummy!! Will definately go again.

My partner and I visited here after seeing they had a wide range of veggie options on the menu. The food was absolutely fantastic and the service was great, and very reasonably priced! We will definitely be going back soon!

Probably the best Chinese food in town, with good service provided by nice people! Definitely worth checking out.

Always a nice takeaway and pleasant service

We have been ordering from this place for years, albeit occasionally. The take away we had yesterday was full of flavour and very much enjoyable. I suggest ignoring people that post single star reviews based on a food standards rating which is nothing to do with their personal experience. Also there is a scale of 1 to 5 - I'm not sure there is a need to maliciously leave 1 star reviews unnecessarily.

Our family ordered a takeaway from here yesterday. The food itself tasted clean unlike many other Chinese restaurants I’ve tried. The spare ribs the meat wasn’t chewy at all and fell off the bone as expected, the squid was so good aswell as everything else. I can’t fault the service at all and the new owners are a blessing thank you for the delicious food I’ll definitely be back. Many compliments to the chef also.

Decided to pop in here last min for a Chinese but left disappointed, started out great nice clean restaurant waitress was good the mixed starter for two was nice and nice beer. Then out came the duck think it was reheated from previous night , it was not good and so greasy, then the main courses were very greasy too, ended up only picking at it cos it was that greasy. Overall not great!

Fancied a chinese meal on Friday evening - looked on Trip Advosor and realised most chinese were takeaways in our area. Noticed Good Earth was not too far away and that it had good reviews so gave it a try....We were not disappointed....great menue, great tasty fresh food, great service. We will be back.

Just back from The Good Earth, I had an amazing meal. Couldn’t fault any of it, we had prawn and chicken lettuce wraps to start were excellent! Seafood noodles, scallops top with prawn, sizzling beef and pepper sauce! All as good as you would get in Chinatown! I’m very Happy now I don’t have to drive there if I want a nice Chinese I can just pop to Haslemere

Very disappointing takeaway. Szechuan chicken was spicy but the chicken was gelatinous. Shredded beef was not crispy. Crispy Duck was the only good part.

I travel regularly all over the UK and a Chinese takeaway is my meal of choice. This is the best place I have visited by far in all of the south of England! The noodles were cooked to perfection, the mixed meats all individually full of flavour, a rich sauce to compliment the dish (not just to fill the container!) and a generous portion for £6.80. The staff I met were polite, welcoming and courteous and handled the issue we had with my £20 note with discretion. I will certainly return when I am next in the area.

Food Standards Agency give this place a food hygiene rating of only 2. Worst Chinese food ever. Chicken is not supposed to be the consistency of pork fat, but here they seemed to have it in abundance. The food left me with a massive thirst all night so I assume it was heavily laden with MSG. Portion size it a bit hit and miss, had a chicken chow mein that was smaller than a child's portion, but the calorific content was made up by the quantity of oil fat and grease it was swimming in. Cannot in all honesty recommend the place.

Visited on bank holiday Sunday evening. Three sets of customers and a few people dropping in for take away. One friendly chap presided over us all doing a sterling job as no one appeared to wait for dishes or service. Good portions and tasty food, topped off with Chinese beer. Had no sweet as stomach fully content, but finished with fantastic tasting jasmine tea that bizarrely stayed hot in the pot for over twenty minutes. Last to leave and not rushed. Comfy seats and relaxing atmosphere.

Decent take away to celebrate my son's birthday. The king prawn chow mein was very good. Spring rolls were OK too. The sweet & sour prawn balls were however, too fatty.

We had a takeaway with family and were pleasantly surprised with the portion sizes. It looks small but they pack it in. The crispy chicken noodles and chicken fried rice were amazing and that’s why it’s a 3 and not a 1!

I've been going to the Good Earth with friends for meals and on my own for takeaway, on and off, for more years than I can remember, but certainly more than 20. The food has always been very tasty and has remained at a high standard in all that time. If all else is changing around you, rest assured that a takeaway of your favourite dish will taste the same as you remember it the next time you go back, even if that is months or years afterwards. I think that's the hallmark of a good local Chinese restaurant; well cooked flavoursome food that doesn't vary wildly in quality from month to month. I've even managed to tempt my wife with their Szechuan Chicken and Singapore fried rice noodles, which is pretty good going as she doesn't normally eat Chinese takeaway. To complement the food the service is always cheerful even if you're just ordering a small takeaway. The decor is bright and contemporary, no half-lit gloomy old faux Chinese decor here, and there is plenty of room around each table so you're pretty sure not to be jostled by others as they come and go from their own meals. One slight detractor is that there is very little parking directly outside. However there is a large local car park a few minutes up the road and, if you can find it, parking g across the street if you're just popping in to collect your takeaway.

Went for my sisters 17th birthday and waited for an hour for one starter dish which was not what we ordered, we ended up leaving. Think they need to decide if they are a takeaway or a restaurant.

I have to be very honest, Good Earth should be called Incredible Earth as my taste buds just imploded (in the best way one can imagine!). First of all, the man that greeted us at the welcoming doorstep had an immaculate smile that robbed me of any doubt that I was at the wrong place. My heart rose as he lead me round the tastefully prepared chairs and a copy of The Daily Telegraph beckoned me but I declined as I realized my focus was drifting. The sweet odor of the ancient, traditional spices brought me all the way back to the lovely place away from the Telegraph. The man spoke "£21.21." He spoke softly and tenderly. I nodded at this proposal. Such a small price for taste so gigantic. With a swipe of my card I had bound myself in a contract to a future of Good Earth. I struck a question to the lovely man as the bag was being prepared. "Say, my friend," I said "Am I still on Earth?" He gave a comforting nod and said "Earth is good my child, you are on Good Earth." Oh, how I miss him now as I was whisked away by hunger as he handed my son the bag. "Your job!" He said to my son. "Carry this food for your master. It is the honourable thing to do." With a bow we walked out the beautiful shop. IT WAS TIME FOR LIFE CHANGING EXPERIENCES. we ate the food. it was nice. hence 5 stars. please find my reaction and my sons to the food in photos. satisfied with service. decent food

Enjoyed a lovely evening at The Good Earth with excellent service and quality fresh dishes. Great selection of wine and beverages and an excellent choice of food. Well priced set menus. Our starters were tasty and hot and the spring rolls were excellent. Perfect timing, not rushed but we didn't have to wait either. Good sized main dishes with tasty sauces and rice dishes. Finished off with a delicious coffee. Superb meal.

Fast service to get a takeaway. I wish they delivered! The chow mein and chicken and sweetcorn soup is quite good here

Absolutamente horrible. Metimos alrededor de las 9pm un viernes por la noche con mi compañero para un llevar en mi camino a casa de una operación el día anterior, así que decir que estaba hambriento y cansado era insuficiente. Fuimos recibidos por un servidor precioso macho que nos pidió que tome asiento y nos dio los menús de mirar a través. Después de elegir lo que nos gustaría (huevo frito arroz 2 x con un plato de verduras y un plato de pollo), él podía ver cómo el dolor que estaba en una no podía hacer lo suficiente para asegurarse de que estaba bien y para conseguir la comida para nosotros rápidamente. Olía encantador y nos fuimos a casa.

Llegamos sobre las 6. 10:00 y pedimos con la chica repitiendo nuestra orden. Los tres primeros platos llegó después de una larga espera y estaban muy sabrosos. Los dos últimos platos nunca llegó y finalmente nos llevaron con ellos con nosotros. El personal parecía estar concentrándose en 'llevar órdenes" en detrimento de los de comer en el restaurante. Entendemos que el jefe no estaba en esa noche, pero eso no es excusa!

Sólo he utilizado el servicio de comida para llevar, pero nunca me ha decepcionado. Todo lo que usted esperaría de un menú chino, las porciones son de tamaños muy bueno y aparte de a veces muy concurrido que brindan un excelente servicio y relación calidad-precio.

El restaurante en sí es lo suficientemente inteligente y servicio lento dentro mientras era amable.

This was a pre Christmas visit . We chose the set meal having asked to have an item changed on it . The staff were very welcoming , the service was excellent ,they really aimed to please ,and I am looking forward to going there again in the new tear

The food was ok, but that is about as good as my comments get. We had a takeaway with friends and ordered a number of things. My husband loves crispy beef, however it was not crispy. Apparently it was soggy and really disappointing. He much preferred The Wok Star up the road.We also ordered chicken fried rice, which tasted like it had been sat in oily water. It was a wet texture. Which I have never experienced before! Not fried tasting at all. Again I've had some great chicken fried rice at The Wok Star.We also order chicken balls with sweat and sour sauce. The batter was really thick and the chicken was over cooked. The Wok Star did really thin batter and the chicken was so moist.I'm sorry Good Earth but your takeaway Chinese just wasn't up to standard. Won't be going there next time.

First of all the staff were fantastic catering for all our needs. As my wife and I approached the building they came to the door and greeted us in. He showed us to our table, i think his name was Gary, and he brought our menu's straight away. The service was incredible with us waiting but a mere 15 minutes for our food. The food was delicious! We devoured a double portion of Mandarin Ribs and ate a whole half duck. The duck is insane!!!!!!

Reliable takeaway. In my opinion restaurant lacks atmosphere. Friendly staff. Convenient location on Weyhill with parking close by.

Use this place for takeaway and sit-down. Both are excellent, and the takeaways are usually very quick to be ready. Salt & Chilli squid is our favourite!

I liked the service and food was amazing - they accommodated our MSG free request and our son's allergies!The quality of the food was high and tasted fresh. All the dishes tried were gobbled up by my 5 and 7 year olds.This will be a regular for me.

Been here a few times but really only as a last resort. I find the food quite greasy and typical of a cheap Chinese takeaway. However, it is quite popular due to it's location and catchment. Service always good. Verging in pricey for what it is.

12 of us went for a mid-week dinner. Presentation clean and attractive, staff friendly, but service was a little hit and miss. Consequently some of the dishes were cool. For example the Peking duck pancakes were cold; had we been on our own we would have sent back. Otherwise the food was enjoyable not the best but clearly above average.

Not impressed. Virtually no sauce in any of the meals. And no sauce provided like every other chinese I've had. Resulting in a very meal. Plus the duck was so old it was hard to chew. Not good.

An excellent choice of food awaited us - the lamb wrapped in lettuce was cooked well - the Kung po chicken was well suited to one of the party and you couldn't go wrong with the sizzling steak! Staff were very friendly - especially a young chap named Konnor.

The worst hoi sin duck I've ever had, sadly. The "meat" was mainly skin and tiny scraps and not half a duck as ordered. The side salad of cucumber and spring onion was not nice as it had clearly been cut hours or days ago and was really dry and hard. Service was quite slow when I was there, which is surprising given how quiet it was. It also does not do beer by the draft and charge a lot for the 330ml bottles. Not recommended.

The occasion was my father's 91st birthday and the nearby Chinese restaurant the obvious choice. It looks extremely ordinary from the outside but there are good reviews on this site. Saturday lunch and the place seemed a little reluctant to open, eventually doing so at twelve thirty. So, having waited around outside a plain looking shop front and then being ushered into an empty restaurant was not the most auspicious start. All was forgiven, however, as soon as the food arrived, sizzling on its dishes. We ordered a number of the main set meals and shared both starters and mains. The crispy aromatic duck was fabulous and reminded me that it is supposed to be 'crispy' as indeed this was. A couple of the vegetable dishes had perhaps a few too many mushrooms but overall a wonderful spread and everything fresh, hot and very tasty. We never thought we would manage to eat everything but it was all so tasty we gave it a very good go. Very enjoyable and impressive.

This restaurant is a little gem and easy to miss, so look carefully. Great for takeaways and even better for dine-in. Excellent menu, well cooked and good portion sizes. We had one of the banquets which was more than we could eat. Highly reommended.

After our my most recent hideous experience with the Thai opposite (see my review), a friend and I went here and had a set menu. Service was great, food was good, and the price was fair. Had a few beers each and the "C" menu with starters, mains and duck and it was £60 with service for the two of us which I think was good value. Will be back, thanks.

What can I say - excellent Chinese food beautifully presented with a wide selection of dishes to choose from. We went back three times over the period of our stys in the area.

The restaurant seems to have been recently refurbished and has a pleasant dining area. Food was a good standard, together with the service. They do a take away service too. Worth a visit if you fancy Chinese food.

I'd tried it previously a couple of years ago and hadn't been impressed but kept hearing how good it was from people I know, so thought I'd give it another try in case it had improved. Not at all! It was still tasteless and greasy and the chicken had a weird soft texture which wasn't pleasant. Disappointing, because none of the others in Haslemere are any good either.

I went here with my wife and we were both hesitant due to the bad reviews here. However, previous reviewers either had impossibly demanding standards or the place has sorted itself out. The food was not exceptional but on a par with many other good Chinese restaurants in which I've eaten. The food was served promptly and did not appear to be drowned in vinegar as some have suggested. I would go back and the place was clearly popular for both sit in diners and people coming in for take-away.
