chips seem to be cooked with refries saved from all week, fat lady there is disgusting the oil seems to be never changed, food is undercooked

Was really surprised to see the negative comments on here after visiting this chippy (29th August 2024), for the first time. My usual chippy was closed today and found this by accident. What a happy accident. The fish was superb, best I've tasted in years, chips were fresh and perfectly cooked, the gravy and peas again great. This will become my go to chippy. So impressed I just had to write a review. No queue when I got there so cannot comment on the practise of serving regulars first, if they did that to me I'd ask why that was. I can only guess that they were online orders or standing orders, who knows as no one seems to have asked the question. Will certainly use again.

It’s true what they say about Tripadvisor innit? Only the moaners come here to post! This is by far the best chippy in the area. The freshest, plumpest, white fish you’ll get. Crispy and light, golden batter. Chips could sometimes be a bit crisper, but that’s personal preference. Also, on the ‘serve regulars first’ comments in reciews, that’s total rubbish. There’s a snaking queue system and you step forward when they ask ‘who’s next please?’ It’s not rocket science. Great fish and chips, having them tonight now :)

Will not be returning here. Fish was under cooked and couldn’t believe the man cooking actually touched the fish with his finger to check if it was cooked then put it back in the fryer-Have never EVER seen anyone do this!! Fish was pale and soggy not browned and crunchy how it should be, also chips were cold 0/10

Staff rude. I arrived 20 minutes before closing and staff kept me waiting to serve regulars first. People walked in after me and got served. When I eventually got served and asked for fish and chips, the response "we are no putting any fresh fish on now as its closing" I was offered chips! TERRIBLE customer service! Other places in and around Urmston just as good and staff friendly.

Not good service, I was first in line waiting for shop to open, and they served all there regulars first, not very friendly and totally ignoring me and they left my oder on top of counter to go cold, when I asked to put it somewhere warm while they were finishing the order, I got dirty looks, as I was leaving the shop they were calling me. Hard to get served if your not a regular customer, I won't be goung there again.
