The Golden Lion in Rochford

Have drunk in this pub many times in my past and my recent visit was good to see not many changes. I was pleasantly surprised by the price of a pint of my favourite cider. Will definitely be returning

Proper old fashioned pub with mildly eccentric locals

Had a very enjoyable evening. Staff were friendly and helpful. Prices very good. Great choice of music on the jukebox too.

We didnt eat in there so cant comment on the food but we had drinks in there at around 7pm on a saturday evening. What a perfect pub. Lovely atmosphere, friendly and welcoming people. The barman was fantastic, what a nice guy and great at his job. Its a proper traditional pub, just how I like them. If I was a local this would be MY local for sure. Would 100% visit again if Im ever in the area again.

Really nice little pub, perfect out of the way local pub for the neighborhood.

It could do with a bit of a spruce up as it hasn't changed in 25 years. Bar staff were very talkative. Not sure of prices as I didn't buy the round.

For me personally, the Golden Lion in North Street Rochford Essex, is a brilliant pub. I've been frequenting this pub since 1968, seen many changes. Friendly and helpful publicans and customers.

Excellent choice of beers lovely beer garden. Few bits and pieces could do with a lick of paint and repair. Proper old style town pub with lots of character. Recent update and lick of paint looks great

We were made very welcome by the locals. We brought our dogs with us as we were camping near by and googled dog friendly pubs so ended up in here. What a great local,lots of beers and it has a great atmosphere. Everyone was friendly and the dogs were treated to some chicken by the bar lady,we would recommend this pub and will be back for another visit.

A real mix of characters frequent this place. Good selection of beers, no hanging around waiting to be served. I have seen negative reviews of this pub, probably because the author felt out of place as the atmosphere is a bit different. Overall, why wouldn't you....?

Proper, traditional local pub, of the ever-dwindling kind. If you don't use it, you will lose it, and it will not return.

Proper pub, ale a bit here an' there but overall good atmosphere friendly regulars and a 'feel good' visit. Just like the '80's wish there were ashtrays on the table just to complete the experience (I'm not a smoker)

It is like going back in time, great old English pub.

Great old little pub based in Rochford. Draft ales on tap constantly changing so always a suprise to go back and a sample a new ale. Cant fault the pub if you looking for a lively pub this isnt for you. If you fancy meeting up , catching up in a quaint pub this is it.

Great selection of real ale and reasonable prices. A bit smelly and clicky with locals, but gives you a real taste of the local community.

Good choice of real beer. Always several new beers every time i go. Old fashioned period pub that has not been spoilt by unnecessary modernisation. I have never had a bad beer here . A few I have tried and not her to.my taste but never a bad one.

Love this Pub, I used to do Pub Crawls. This is my Local Town. The Pubs Changed, but... Unlike other Locals. Still Has Caricature and Great Beer. Plus Great Staff.

Fabulous real ale, friendly staff and customers, great relaxed atmosphere. It's a real pub in an old building and (in my opinion) that adds to it's appeal.

Staff rude unhelpful and don't bother asking to put rubbish in the bin as they tell you to take it with ya! Won't be returning

A proper friendly but a bit old fashioned pub,with a roaring fire and a large selection of fantastic "real" ales, all perfectly kept and served. At non poser prices too.

Such a good selection of beer and the choice varies every week. It's also the world's best pub for dog friendliness.

If you are looking for an old school traditional pub with a good selection of well kept real ales, this is the place to visit in Rochford. Not a glamorous pub and the internal decor is showing its age. However, well kept beer and the small courtyard garden is a nice​ place to sit on a summers afternoon.

Lovely chinese take away with lightening fast delivery in Hullbridge.

Beer selection is not bad. Fairly small inside with even smaller toilets. Fair choice for a cosy pint though, the pub not the toilets.
