The Golden Lamb in Derby

Unfortunately this time the order was missing items and the quality of the food was poor , poppadoms were chewy and not very nice and some of them were missing,onto the chicken china as the chicken was hard and we both thought it was tasteless

no matter what we order at home or in the restaurant, the food is absolutely gorgeous, I've never tasted better. thankyou for your service 💙

lamb chops spectacular, best takeaway chips ive had. The Lamb Razella was not so good. it was sweet, never had a Razella like that before.

We’d booked via the Fork, the place was empty when we arrived which was really strange for a Friday evening. We were hesitant but decided to give it a go! Unfortunately, the waiter was very abrupt and service was extremely poor. There were only 3 tables with customers, not exactly buzzing or busy for such slow service! Even the drinks we ordered they didn’t have! We ordered our starter and mains, the table next to us had arrived after us and got their food well before ours! When I asked the waiter where the starter was he said it’ll be a few minutes. I explained that the starter should have come out first! He said we’d only ordered one starter! Not sure what difference that should have made as was ordered as a starter! He wasn’t happy but brought the starter which contained 4 small pieces of Paneer! Tiny portion. We eventually got our mains, not the best Indian food I’ve eaten, extremely disappointing. My husband said the chicken was tough and chewy! We had to wait for absolutely ages for the bill! Certainly wouldn’t recommend and can see now why the place was practically empty for a Friday evening!!

Food arrived hot. Not had Indian for a while, so used The golden Lamb based on reviews. ALL the food was really nice, tasty and best of all the Puri’s were not greasy. Will order again from here.

Went on a wowcher deal, food was delicious and portions were big, service was also attentive Will definitely return next time we're in Derby Did return, with a wowcher deal that was valid but no longer sold so staff didn't want to give what we had paid for. Finally agreed, but begrudgingly and honestly you'd have thought I was trying to rob the place the way they kept checking what was on the deal they had offered. Ended up feeling very uncomfortable and so will avoid. It's not the only Indian restaurant in Derby so I'm sure I'll find another one......

Went here for dinner on a day trip in Derby. Great customer service - everyone’s lovely! We ordered chicken korma and chicken tikka masala, both tasted amazing with garlic cheese naans and garlic rice. Wonderful. Will visit again :) PS. The mains we ordered were very mild - just what we wanted

We ordered the food today which was late delivered and the chapatis was wrapped in the polythene bags which is not hygienic and it became soggy. Never tried this restaurant again.

Went with a party of 8 and all had a great curry. The staff were super friendly and looked after us very well. I had the King Prawn Puri and the Special Balti, very tasty. Would thoroughly recommend

Me and my mates of which one has no Internet or social media connections keen for dinner this evening and it was absolutely outstanding. One of the best Indian meals we’ve ever had. Will be a bit put off by the fact that the owner did not know where his picture came from however he did the research found out where it was and impress us even more a true culinary experience that more than met our expectations

If I could give the golden lamb 10 stars I would ! After being in derby for uni I was in search of a traditional Indian restaurant and I was not disappointed ! Over my time living in derby I have never had a bad meal from the golden lamb , every meal has been amazing despite whether I ate in the restaurant or ordered online .Every single member of staff makes you feel at home and nothing is ever too much for them to help. They cater for everyone (vegan , veggie , allergies and even fussy eaters). The food is also reasonably priced and of amazing quality and it is the only place in derby which serves food with edible 24k gold which is brilliant if you’d like to try something different ! Thank you to everyone at the golden lamb for making my time in derby wonderful and I will be returning in the future!

I have ordered here several time and really can not fault the quality of food . We have never been disappointed they always provide hot tasty high quality food.

We came for a birthday meal just the two of us , we had starters, platter for two was hot and fresh, and two mains the flavours were imense I was pleased with the service from Paul and the team will definitely come again and share my experience at the crescent inn where we work , bring on a beautiful future together, 🤩🍽️🍻

I recently visited this restaurant and had a wonderful dining experience. The atmosphere was cozy and intimate, with a warm and inviting decor. I had to ring the chef and thank her...the food was the best I've ever had..a true classic rogan josh cooked to perfection the rice was fluffy and hot with a hint of lemon..and the garlic naan was amazing..the beautiful lady who cooked it thank you..and thank you for the little chat .

Great meal for two (again) at the Golden Lamb on the 26th April . The food was delicious and the lamb in both main dishes was melt in the mouth. Great taste and portion sizes at reasonable prices. The food and its presentation is consistently to a high standard. Recommend the spicy chips as a small side - they are finely cut and have a very morish spicy coating. The service is friendly and engaging. Paul is welcoming and friendly and is an excellent host.

So far the food has always been hot and fresh.. even the chips are hot!

Bought it for my parents and they won’t shut up about how good it was. Really good service (delivery man was really nice) and the food was the best they’d had in their life (they are both 60 so that is pretty impressive)

I was fortunate enough to be treated to my birthday meal here. Our waiter Paul was exceptional. He and his ear to ear smile made the night all the more memorable. The food was incredible. Every dish was seasoned to perfection, and I can confidently say it was one of the best curries I've ever eaten. I was also given a complimentary dessert, which was equally as delicious, as a birthday treat. Thank you for an unforgettable birthday meal!

I have been eating at Indian restaurants for 40 years and I can honestly say this was one of the best meals I have had, the onion Bhaji was delicious and crispy, the chicken Phall was amazing with lovely soft chicken and really flavoursome, my Nephews Korma was lovely and creamy and flavoured with coconut, naan bread spot on and rice was nice and fluffy, staff very friendly and attentative, I will definitely be using this restaurant again, highly recommend.

That was disgusting worst curry I had in derby for years and believe me I love a good curry I said Nans well done they came white with no cheese on and I ask for both curry’s to be thick and they was watered if u treat customers like that u will go out of busyness good luck to u never again

Wasn't impressed really.. we have tried it twice, first time little touches like the chocolate in the gold bags was nice, second time nothing.. mine was bland and not much taste.. we gave it a go but won't be back..

The food from here is gorgeous! Full of flavour! Delivery took a while, but not the restaurants fault as they where trying to contact me but it was connecting through Just Eat. Deliver driver was really nice. Thank you 🙂
