The food was fantastic. I had a Patakha Karahi which is new on the menu, the spice level was fairly hot, but as a hot curry lover It could go hotter. Nicola the hostess was amazing and couldn’t do enough, she deserves a wage rise 😁

We had a table booking we made in an advance for my brother’s birthday, this was a table of 38. I was worried when I was in charge of organising this meal and ensuring everyone was invited because I wondered if Niccos could accommodate to a table of so many people. I requested my enquiry via their contact email and I had a fast response, the person on the other end was so helpful and was able to answer any questions I had. A deposit of £10 ahead had to be made on time of booking. We was able check out the space they had for us before the night of the meal to ensure we was happy with the space, we had a whole section to ourselves which you can appreciate with such a large family this was perfect. Our main waitress for the night was a young lady named Ruby, who was really helpful, friendly, funny and supportive. It was her last shift, what a honour it was to have Ruby as our main waitress and especially for her last shift. We all had a fantastic time, the food was absolutely delicious and the family members who had children were really impressed with the children's menu and the options on there. Would 100% recommend this restaurant, amazing all round! You wont be disappointed.

Went during the Christmas period it was busy. Staff were really hospitable even though we messed up on the booking! Leonor really went above and beyond for us. Food was also delicious! Will definitely be back again.

We visited Nicco in the Christmas season and had a lovely time. We tried a few small plates that were some of the best Indian food I’ve had in Derby. The atmosphere was great as there was a live singer and pianist. Our waitress, Lenor gave great service and was very attentive. Will be back again soon!

I would like to say a massive thank you to the chap who was at the desk who showed us to our seats today. I believe his name is Cory. In the space of 3 minutes he understood and grasped that my wife’s anxiety levels were through the roof and managed to seat us somewhere no one was sitting - and then 5 minutes later managed to let me know he wouldn’t allow any others to sit close to us whilst we ate. This may sound selfish but it wasn’t overly busy even tho there were still a fair few inside the restaurant - and he has no idea how this simple gesture will help me in assisting my wife on the road to recovery. I even managed to see the owner whilst in there and told him of the diamond he has working for him. Thank you sir for your compassion and understanding - you are a true gentleman. Niccos has always been my wife’s favourite but she has struggled to even go out of the house for close to 4 months now and I’ve been trying to take baby steps to aide her in her recovery and this was a real help even tho she was shaking like a sh****ng dog !!! Top food , top staff - best place in Derby for me for food and atmosphere.

We went for our anniversary. We had a lovely meal. The giant combo between us. It’s a real challenge. Jasmine our waiter provided us was fantastic service. Cocktails also very delicious. We will definitely return. Highly recommended.

This was my first visit to Nicco’s as I was an Anoki regular and thought it couldn’t be beaten. However, Niccos was strongly recommended so I gave it a go. I now have a new favourite Indian restaurant. The place is stunning, service was great and the food was incredible. The Chilli Chicken starter was the best starter I’ve ever tasted and it was a generous portion. Our waiter Nelson recommended the Handi Gosht for my main and it was delicious. I was so full from the starter I had to take some home which I’m already looking forward to eating tomorrow. I will be back many times and I strongly recommend you visit.

It's the 2nd time, myself and my husband has visited thus beautiful restaurant, we found it by chance and loved it. Fabulous atmosphere, great food and great staff. The decor is beautiful too (check out the bathrooms) love it here ❤️

I went for my birthday with friends, the food was amazing. The service was great and Olley that looked after us couldn’t do enough to make our dining experience fabulous, to recommending dishes we would like to bringing out a piece of cake for me with the plate decorated with Happy Birthday. We will definitely be back and hope Olley will be there to look after us all again.

Visited Nicco with work colleagues during a training course in Derby. Very friendly staff that are helpful. Well laid out, modern and has a real buzz about it which is different to many Indian restaurants. Food is amazing, I go to India and Nepal and this is the closest I have had in the UK on par with the real McCoy. Will definitely be back.

We arrived at the restaurant just before 6pm on the Saturday evening, to find the whole of the bar area completely full of loud and rowdy football supporters. None of them appeared to have a table booked or be eating, they were just crowded around being very loud and noisy, with lots of foul language being used. The restaurant was also full, and in general the whole place just had a feel of a canteen. It was so loud and noisy, that you could not hear yourself think, or have a conversation. The food itself was good, with some very tasty dishes, but with the noise and rowdy atmosphere, we all just wanted to eat up and leave as soon as possible. We would definitely not go again.

Booked table for 8 people ,good job a few of us was small enough to fit in the round booth. You could not hear yourself has noise levels were so high .the acoustic noise needs to be addressed. Singer in bar area was just mixed in with the rest of the noise .felt very sorry for them .starters turned up before poppadoms, then couldn't fit them on table .starters very nice ( only have 1 each ) i had a lamb awadhi. This was very poor 😢 ?. It was lamb mixed with a very creamy sauce and no flavour at all!! Had a sweet which was small but nice .wouldn't be in a rush to go back ,probably make an excuse to not go .

We went there on a Thursday evening as a small group but it was the first time I had been. The place has a good vibe about it and is nicely laid out with plenty of space and nice big tables. The staff are friendly, attentive and welcoming. The food we chose was really nice with a good range of flavours and some complex spicing. We all enjoyed it and would go back definitely.

I come here often with my wife and kids, sometimes with just my wife, sometimes to meet friends. The atmosphere here is great, especially when there's a live singer normally on a Friday evening. The staff are all incredibly polite and friendly which isn't often the case in a lot of large establishments. The food... Wow... The food is amazing. I like that their menu isn't static but has its staples, keeps me guessing while having my fallbacks. Everything here is really nice though I'm not a fan of the Nicco's Chicken Tikka (might be called something else) due to the spices not feeling balanced. But everything else is great, and perhaps it's just my own personal palate that isn't suited to that particular flavour. For busier times such as Friday and Saturday evenings, I recommend booking a table in advance. Jan 2025: The food is as good as it used to be. I'll raise it another star. If it stays this good on consecutive visits I'll bump it up to 5 stars.

Xmas work Dinner 🎄 Had the pleasure of dining here with my team over the Christmas period, a great choice made by one of our staff. The atmosphere was very inviting and staff to greet us upon entry. Wonderfully decorated in every corner of the restaurant ✨️ Music for ambiance but not too loud so as not needing to shout at one another on the long table, even tho we did play musical chairs to gain a proper conversation with one another. The staff were very prompt with the service from start to finish. Having a curry is my biggest preference when it comes to food, with it being my first experience here it is nice to have another establishment to compare to. Well...there was no disappointment, the food was above board! 👌🏽 The quality and quantity of the food was worth the price paid for. The lamb was oh so tender and melted in your mouth with each bite, it was lucky that the bowl was very deceiving as there was so much of it to enjoy it was neverending. And even once the bowl was FINALLY finished I almost felt greedy for the thought of being able to eat it all over again despite the fullness 😅 We all left agreeing that it was some of the finest foods we've eaten, even for those who don't often opt for Indian Cuisine. Thank You!! I've already arranged another visit...am so ready 🙌🏼

Had dinner this evening, just went for a main meal and it was one of the best Asian curries I have had in years, the flours were just explosive and you cant help wanting more, I was a bit sad when I had finished the whole dish. Service is good with friendly staff. My first visit to Derby for work and this restuarant was close to the hotel. Generous portion sizes and great value for money. I can't fault the restuarant and had a great experience.

Came for a Xmas do on 20th December, there were 20 plus of us and the service and food were both top notch. I also enjoyed the fact that there was no set menu to choose from, making my life as the organiser much easier. I'm sure we'll be back again at some point this year

Easy to book with lots of options & choice. Beautiful decor - we were allocated a really pretty table. Food really tasty, good sized portions & very reasonably priced. Excellent service - friendly & attentive. All together, a really good experience & would definitely recommend.

Food was amazing. Unfortunately service let them down. Ate most of our main course without any form of drinks. Water requested for the table never arrived and our drinks from the bar arrived after we had finished eating.

Really good atmosphere, however got food poisoning from the achari chicken wings.

I wish they had put on the website that they were having some kind of party. We walked into a nightmare to say the least as it was noisy and I was so overstimulated. It took us a long time to get started on drinks and the food was mid to say the least.

This is a lovely stylish restaurant. It has a great menu, amazing food and friendly staff. It was very busy and noisy the night we visited and I wished we'd asked to be moved as I couldn't hear my friends due to the loud voices on the table next to us. Parking was also difficult that night as it was so busy. Will definitely return.

The food was amazing, the service was pretty good. I have given the atmosphere a 2 purely because it's not a couples place, we went on a Saturday night, lots of groups and very noisy so couldn't really hear each other, it's very much like a Cosmo which is an atmosphere where groups go, I would suggest that if couples book then Niccos should maybe put couples in the corners where it's a little more quieter, don't look at this as a negative as it was our experience just as a couple, it's great food, good service but a bit too noisy for a romantic night
