The Golden Harvest in Sefton

This place is a hidden gem. Food is amazing, plenty of it and reasonably priced. We ate the three course evening meal for £14.99 per head, tasty and hot. The sweet and sour chicken I have not tasted anything better anywhere.

Food was very rubbish out didn't give time to finish are Food when we were eating they where taken away are plate away price where different to on line over priced

This was the best Chinese food I have ever tasted in my life the prawn toast is heavy and the banquet for 20 pound for 2 people is so good you get 2 starts 1 big main this is suitable for 3 people

Good food, attentive service, it wasn't too busy while we were there. Tradition style Chinese restaurant with traditional menu, well cooked, hot, v.tasty and plenty of it. Staff quite happy to provide doggy bags for remains.

We visited here after receiving a flyer through the door, recently moved into the area. Menu looked good so we went without a booking, not a problem. We ordered soup and duck rolls to start, one main rice dish, 2 meat dishes and one plate of mushrooms. 2 soft drinks, 2 rum and cokes, 2 glasses house wine, plus food £80.!!! Food cost at least 40% more than the price of the take away menu! £7 plate of mushrooms, £12/13 main and rice dishes, price difference doesn't make any sense. Ambience was OK, service was good and food was certainly excellent quality, ample portion sizes and hot but prices are far too high for me to make a return visit, sorry!

I literally only discovered this restaurant on Friday night! Fabulous food - it really is a little hidden gem. Service was great, no rush to get us out or order more drinks. Thoroughly recommend Banquet C - food so fresh and piping hot. 10/10 from me - I'll definitely be back or will order a takeaway for delivery.

What a little hidden gem this place is, no rush service, authentic, delicious,great value food, your courses come at a nice steady pace even though they are busy, not asked every two minutes for more drinks, great service great food and great value, first visit tonight, will not be our last, amazing restaurant

Food really good quality! None of that soggy strange meat. Everything top quality and tasty. Will return again and again unless the quality and standard of service is lowered but until then I highly recommend

We ordered house special chow mein, sweet and sour crispy pork, salt & pepper chips and rice to take away and they were all delicious and decent portions with plentiful meats and prawns in the chow mein. Excellent prices too and fast cooking (though it was relatively quiet at the time). Would definitely order again.

I attended 08/12/2021 for a family birthday meal. We all got seperate bills. Me and my partner ordered the £10 per person early bird banquet. We added a extra of crispy seaweed and then x1 children's meal. We had x3 large cokes and had to ask for a new main as I requested no vegetables in the main which they replaced. They charged us £63 at the end for this. Our staters contained x3 tiny ribs and x2 small chicken wings. My partners main was small and contained only 2 pieces of beef. The place have charged for x2 children's meals and the extra meal which they got wrong! They also placed a MASSIVE service charge on our bill which we were not allowed to remove from the bill. I would never attend this place again and neither would my family or friends!

We use the Golden Harvest at least once a week as they deliver the drivers are always pleasant and if there is a mistake with your order they will make sure it is sorted out sooner rather than later

After coming to the golden harvest a few times with my girlfriend, on separate occasions with larger groups and also as a takeaway I have never been let down by the food, the drink or the service. The atmosphere in the restaurant is always in good spirits, and the food is always fresh and tasty. My girlfriend is vegan and they tailor to vegan diets very well. I rate this restaurant and the owners highly for their fantastic attention they pay to customers and their warm welcome every time we go.

Sweet and sour chicken is fab and the spring rolls are lovely foot is amazing always go her every week never had a bad meal this place is fab for lock down meals 10 out of 10

I recently moved in to the area and really wanted to try Golden Harvest. We hadn’t booked a table but they were able to accommodate the two of us. I ordered the veg spring rolls and then the vegetable/green pepper in black bean sauce which was possibly the best I’ve ever tasted! We shared a portion of rice and chips between us which were generous sizes (the chips were nice and crunchy!) and the bill came to less than £40... There’s a broad choice of food on the menu, lots of options for vegetarians like myself, there’s also banquets and teatime specials - I’ll definitely be back!

Recommend cheap but amazing food 2 adults 2 teenagers and a 3 year old staff where brilliant food was really nice and restaurant is really clean. we chose from the midweek special menu £9.90 for a 3 course and £12 with duck £71 all in with soft drinks we all enjoyed our food and will definitely be going again

we tried to get in on new year eve but fully booked at 5pm so whent somewhere else .was full so good sign. booked for saterday night and a great place to eat in food superb drinks prices ok service fine and if you order tea it comes as a pot not a small cup well inpressed family realy enjoyed the meal plus doggie bag we took home as full

Best Chinese I’ve ever had. Ordered for delivery. Arrived sharp. Free prawn crackers. 5 out of 5 hygiene rating. What more could you want.We ordered crispy duck, bbq ribs, mixed prawns, fried rice and spring rolls. Really good quality tasty food.You’ve tried the rest now try the best. At last, a good Chinese!

Went here the other week for a meal with the fambo. All good no complaints. We always get a delivery meals aswell from here and its always hot not like some places were it's just warm

The operator of the convenience store across the street suggested this place to us. We tried 6 different dishes and liked everyone we tried. The staff was very friendly but the service was fairly slow. so if you have the time and are look8ng for decent Chinese food this is a good choice

Our first visit due to our regular favourite restaurant being renovated. We would recommend this restaurant as the food is very good, and the staff are very polite and attentive, we enjoy carry out food from there on occasions as well. To be fair, it can't be faulted and we will certainly go again in the near future.

Service was absolutely shocking !! Never once got asked if we wanted a another drink while we was there ! Waiter tried to take the plate when still eating off it.

My friends and I have a tradition of having a meal here a few times a year. We love it. Its excellent old school chinese food. Its not arty or “fusion” etc. You get decent portions of very tasty food! The house wine is absolutely fine but there is a larger list for those who want it.

went to Golden Harvester yesterday only to find it had closed we hadnt been for a while but food was always lovely and prices reasonable so we decided to go to the owners other chinese restaurant called 'Edwards' in Crosby which has same menu people are very pleasant here too as they worked in Golden Harvest in Bootle would recomend a visit its great for any occasion

Nos dieron los 15 platos para 3. La sopa de vino sin pan de gambas. Que estaban muy ocupados sirviendo personas que vinieron después entonces esperamos más de 20 minutos para empezar. Cuando llegamos no había mucha gente y el caballero fue tan servicial como podía ser tan sólo había 2 camareros y el gerente con un chef. Luego pedimos 2 ronda nd de bebidas y sólo uno vino. Tuve que ir y preguntar por él, y el camarero dijo que no se puede conseguir el personal. Y, a continuación, cuando el plato principal llegó el director trajo y preparó el plato de arroz con pollo 1 dulce y agria, que era pechugas de pollo crujientes cortar en trozos. Ella era la de traer comidas a los clientes que llegó después de nosotros, así que fui a comer mi plato y sigo esperando 2 más. Mientras tanto el arroz estaba fría. Es seguro decir que nunca volveré allí y le diré a todo el mundo el mismo. No hay disculpas. Lo que un gerente.

Esta es una joya de un restaurante con un ambiente relajado y una comida deliciosa comida china a precios increíbles. El lugar está limpio. El personal es muy amable y servicial. No puedo declarar la diversión gracias a la ayuda del personal, el sentido del humor y en organizar la tarta de cumpleaños sorpresa. Maravilloso el secreto mejor guardado de un restaurante de comida china antigua escuela.

We have been going to this restaurant at least twice a month since it reopened. We usually get the 15 course banquet which is soup and crackers followed by a starter platter (all deep fried picky bits, ribs, sui mais etc) then a main meal each and a dessert. It is all very tasty food and the staff are nice. I would recommend this to people who want a nice chinese meal but don't want to go into town.

A little rich on prices, and the soups needed more seasoning, but the rest of the meal was a pure delight. Fruit to finish was a good choice Is it worth the money? Not sure maybe 10% overpriced

Group of 5. Last minute booking. No Michelin stars but the food is tasty , the portions are decent and it is entirely worth the money . 5 stars!

I have eaten here many times and it's always been really good. Good value for money and friendly service. The take away service is really good too.

The Manager (Chinese man who had a ponytail) had a terrible attitude which Gordon Ramsay could not fix. The food was over priced and bland. Furthermore, the men's toilet was blocked and I was rudely told to use the ladies (not that I minded as...

I got sweet and sour chicken, and if you like chicken burger cut in to slices then you will be enjoy this meal, all the times I get sweet and sour chicken it all comes batted chrispy chunks not a chicken burger cut up in to slices. Anyway this meal been smell like damp, rice and chicken cold after this meal I spend 3 days on toilet, in slices on chicken you can find bits and bobs of hair DO NOT GO HERE

A great place for a family meal out. The food was freshly prepared using crisp ingredients - and very tasty. There is a very good choice of dishes and banquet deals at reasonable prices. We'll be back!
