Amazing place for a quick bite!

Orderd my food for my foodthen tbsy canceld my order for no reason but still took my money so i didnt have the funds to order from somewhere else then wouldnt answere phone or reply with any kind of reason.

Highly recommended by The Poolie Curry Club (est 2012). Great service, top quality food and good craic all round.

We used this place for years recently food always wrong this time no popadoms an pickles rang to be told we dont do them even though its on the menu after all these yearslooks like we need to find a restaraunt that doesnt advertise something and then dont deliver

Staying in Hartlepool for 1 night and decided to have a curry! Service was very good, usual good selection of dishes with a few different ones. Good selection of wines. Had the usual poppadoms to start with pickles, then onto the main. Hubby had Chicken Tikka Masala, I had a very good fish curry, well cooked rice and non onion bhaji. Portions were a good size. Have to say this is one of the best Indian meals we had in a long while. Was very reasonable price. Happy to recommend.

Best Indian restaurant we’ve ever been to! Food is absolutely amazing, staff are very friendly & lovely to talk to! Atmosphere is great here, we’ve been coming here to eat for a while now and service is spot on every time! Highly recommend :)

Hands down the best indian restaurant in town. Food is delicious. Delivery is always fast. I usually get the chicken tikka masala with not liking really spicy food but tonight I tried the chicken rogan josh to try something different for once and it was amazing. Would highly recommend to go here. I've been ordering from here for the past few months now and it has never failed to disappoint.

Food was not up to usual standards tasteless and got sone reason the onions bargees were not quite like the usual and the masala curry was extremely watery once out on plate not happy at all

Food was over half an hour late. When I rang the restaurant they said it was out it was out for delivery. Food was also a tad cold. Not happy with the service I received tonight.

We come every fortnight and the food and staff are outstanding especially mehrab.We have been coming here now since king kong was a chimp and we wouldn't go anywhere else . Establishment is clean and tidy, menu excellent and very reasonably priced. Special menu available which is excellent before 7pm. Dont walk past. Best curry house in Hartlepool.

Great delivery last night thoroughly enjoyed the meals. Not had any issues when ordering here unlike some others which start off great then drop their standard.

Didn’t receive full order. Peshwari Naan missed from order although paid for it. Delivery was 35 mins late. Saying all that food was lovely just a shame about missing item and delivery time

Food was brilliant however it wasn’t very (hot) you could tell the driver had more than 1 delivery.

Been coming here for 4 years steady now and never been disappointed with the food regarding taste and portion size. Very friendly service every time I visit. Also very good value whether you are ordering off the set menu or main menu. Best curry house in Hartlepool.

It's bad news when I've got to travel from Stockton-on-Tees on a train to Hartlepool to get a proper Indian. The Golden Gate must have been there 30 years now! they even catered for my wedding in 1998 and still they maintain this exceptional standard of quality Indian cuisine. A warm friendly atmosphere with fantastic service awaits all who visit, the prices are spot on. A real credit to the Owner and Staff, long may it last. Thank you, Michael and Joy.

Food cold really late never any complaints for this place but very poor service on this occasion

I'm sorry but this is my normal go to Indians so I got the garlic mushroom chicken appetiser only to put a fork full in my mouth and found metal in it

** WARNING** **GOLDEN GATE** **BE WARNED** **EMPLOYER WARNING** Last time we ordered the miserable sarcastic little Indian man with the bad attitude left our order on the mucky doorstep in the rain. the expensive food we paid for was just dumped there! DO NOT like being treat like a dog!!! So obviously i said something about it & said i wasn't too pleased about that, who would be? The next time we ordered which was last night at 20.30 pm to be delivered at around 11.00 pm, the meal never showed up at all and this was done on purpose, they were just trying to be clever because i complained last time & they didn't like it! I telephoned tonight & the same miserable little Indian man with the disgraceful attitude problem picked up & he told me they ran out of ingredients & telephoned us to say so! COMPLETE LIAR!!! Very sad indeed you miserable little Indian man. We have been ordering from the Golden Gate for over 25 years!!! You are finished for good now!!! Never ever again!!! you low life little man!!! NOBODY TREATS US LIKE THIS & I MEAN NOBODY!!! Bye bye and good riddance to you little Mr. miserable!!!!!

We order every week from here and it's always 10/10. Would highly recommend the "exclusive lamb dish" on the specials too.

Think this is around my 4th time ordering, food is restaurant quality, always absolutely piping hot and well packaged. Friendly fast delivery, the best in Hartlepool by a distance!

Food initially came early, but missed the lamb bhuna off the order took over 1 hour for the lamb bhuna to arrive, but by that time the rice was freezing along with everything else making the meal awful.

Dansak was watery and tasteless. Starter was rubbery. Only amazing thing was the chips. Poppadoms had a funny taste and the naan was hard. Usually my favourite Indian but for some reason this evening I have been left unsatisfied

Not 0.33 bottle it’s less than that which you need to specify on your page to avoid many who buy from being ripped off… apart from that food was delivered before time specified and piping hot 🥵 which was enjoyable thank you.. just don’t advertise bottles that you sell that aren’t what they’ll actually get okay!

Just lovely service and food. Had chicken tikka paneer followed by chicken kashmiri with the usual sundries, flavours gentle and portion size was spot on for a middle aged lad. Surprised this place isn't busier but I guess with the Royal still being shut afaik they don't get the passing footfall at the bottom end of Church Street. And not in a red light district to boot, as so many good restaurants are.

Excellent delivery time but the food was well below their normal 5 star - Chicken Tikka Masala and Lamb Bhuna were both very bland, hardly any flavour, and the poppadoms were stale

No onion Bhajis terrible taste of Vindaloo, must have a new chef, not good 😡

Orderd a non vegetable thali and a bottle of coke didn't get the coke again second time it wasn't deliverd but I paid for them both

Food arrived piping hot. The lamb dish was so nice and tender, spices were bang on for us. By far the best cuisine of this kind in the town, in my opinion anyway 😀

Golden gate was always outstanding but tonight was the worst Indian I’ve ever had ever. All 3 curry’s tasted the same no taste the Nan was ok - back to the Dilshad

I’ve already made a complaint to just eat , I’ve used this restaurant for years , the food i received was shocking , the chicken was dry . The rice was cold and the nan bread was burnt and dry i had two mouthfuls it was a complete waste of Money and I would like a refund

Food quality indifferent. Restaurant were brilliant to send a mixed korma per request despite it not being on the justeat menu, However sent me an upsettingly small naan that fit in one hand.

The food was better than most places and portions are definitely filling. Everything was as it said and nothing turned up cold. Only issue was the hour wait for delivery, which is to be expected for fresh food but it's still a while either way. Definitely would recommend

Heat lovers try the chicken tikka bengal. Like a vindaloo but with dried chilli's toasted and scattered throughout. Its like upgraded vindaloo V2.0

Just ordered a non vegetarian Thali chicken chatt and extra rice 22 English pounds the meal come to the vegetarian madras I had was as bland as eating water my girlfriends mushroom baji had a hair in it I have never had a worse meal in Hartlepool were did the chef serve his time nacro awful food would not recommend I would give it zero stars but unfortunately I cant

Forgot chips, then said chips would be 5/10 minutes, didn’t turn up so we had to go to restaurant to get a full new order as our first one was cold. Disappointing as this has happened on more than one occasion
