Dilshad Tandoori in Hartlepool

Check your change they will add a few quid on every time you eat in this place. The last time a large group of us were in here they robbed us of £40 and then had the audacity to try and say we tipped them £40. They knew exactly who we were the next day after we had talked between us and realised we had been robbed. The stolen money was returned after much arguing with the staff. None of us will ever eat in here ever again. Apart from that the food is ok

Amazing food and super friendly staff. Been twice now and will definitely be going again. There's a very good reason they've been open 44 years. Well done and here's to many more 🙏😁

The food was delicious- but cold and needed to be microwaved. It was very late and one of the rices was missing. That said, thanks very much! we enjoyed it. But a little disappointed as it’s usually lovely from the dilshad!

Popped in for a takeaway and the service was exemplary. We hadn't visited for many many years as visiting town to see family. Brought back happy memories. Once this was known by the staff we had a lovely chat about how the business has developed over the years. Couldn't have treated us better. We had a drink while we waited. We ordered off the set menu which offered unbelievable value for money. Food was fantastic - large portions. We will return. Highly recommended.

Ordered delivery and food was flat cold on arrival, could dismiss the 1 hour and 10 min wait if food was at least warm. Shame as normally been pretty good.

Popped in here for dinner on a whim one evening and it's the best Indian we have had in a long time. Really delicious food, served promptly, with friendly courteous staff. Can't wait to go again.

Food was beautiful, had lamb chops, problem was they were more like spare ribs, very little meat and only a few, had the duck starter too, tasted amazing but again, very little, just another 2 chops and a few more pieces of duck, it would have been up to the standard I’m used to from the Dilshad, I’ll be ordering again but if it get a repeat, I’ll be going elsewhere in the future

Great! Very nice atmospehere and good choices in the meny. Was going somewhere else to eat but decided on Dilshad and I am glad I did this choice. Well worth a vist! Great and hospitable staff!

Poor food today everything was freezing prawns had shell on got notified collection was ready at 7.40 then we waited in there for order because it wasn’t ready eventually got it at 8.25 granted the place was busy maybe shouldn’t take orders if it’s to busy total waste of money

First time customers here and we were scammed tonight. First curry we opened was the Chicken Korai (half full), second curry opened was the Chicken Pathia (under 3/4 full) Third curry opened Chicken Tikka Masala (half full) 2 bits of chicken in each curry = 6. And because of the lack of sauce and chicken, all the curries were dry as a bone and not enjoyable at all and not filling. Rice had no vegetables in it, just tiny bits, even though we ordered a Vegetable Pilau. Food was not hot either. Naan bread was very small. Mint sauce half full. Scrappy bit of salad. Asked for medium/hot curries for the Korai and Pathia, both tasted extremely mild. Curry powders are probably out of date that's why. Overall everything mentioned above = GREED. We would like a full refund asap and will never ever order from Dilshad Tandoori ever again. Extremely disappointed. : - (

Bhajis and chips cooked in horrible fat, tikka rock hard and undercooked, just pure muck only and this is usually my go to place, not anymore

Delivery 60mins late. Food cold and popodoms smashed to bits. Rang numerous times as order did not arrive on time. Definitely will go elsewhere next time.

didn't knock or ring when delivered just left outside so it was cold when consuming. Will not be ordering again.

Had to meet driver to collect food as was inexperienced nervous driver and would not drive up our lane shocking paid for delivery and had to get car out and collect

Poppodoms broken , both curries tasty but just warm . Chips not fresh at all . Pilau rice good . Overall disappointing as when we are out on a Saturday we always go for a curry here .

Well over an hour late, arrived freezing cold, won’t be retuning

Never ever had an issue with Dilshad but tonight absolutely piss poor, 2 hrs to deliver food is an absolute joke, “be with someone to deliver in 10 minutes” that was 25 minutes ago, absolute joke, would help if someone on the end of the line understood what you said aswell.

Excellent example of this type of restaurant. Cannot over emphasize how good the food is in this establishment.

Best Indian in the town .got to try the chicken tikka paneer .mmmmm

I have eaten in the Dilshad on many occasions and never had a problem. This was the first time that I’d ordered a takeaway and unfortunately the samosa stater was very bland, the chicken in the Balti was hard and dry (despite being generously coated in sauce) and the naan bread was the smallest I have ever had at an Indian restaurant. The only positive was that the chips were cooked really well and tasty and the delivery was on time. I’m sorry but I won’t be using them again and can’t recommend

Lived in Glasgow 25 years, this is as good as any curry house there. Been in business since 1979. Just outside train station. Back 28/7/24 … omg sooooo good and that’s not just from me it’s the others i’m with …..

Ask the waiter is this the meal. Your opinion that curry is not hot, in general wanted us out as the meal was cold very bad mannered. If one half of the meal is cold etc we told staff well that’s the problem rude rude

Took over 2 hours to arrive. Naan was burnt and cold Rice was poor and very powdery! Pasanda sauce tasted exactly like Korma. Lamb was tasteless. Poppadoms were ok though! Below average at best Won't be returning

I was very disappointed with my visit to the Dilshad yesterday evening. The food was OK but the service was terrible. We were the only ones in the restaurant and the service was very poor. The dishes came out very slowly and no-one offered us a second drink even though my glass was empty for more than hour. They also got the order wrong. I think they where concentrating on delivery orders and the Euro football match. They had balloons on the tables celebrating 45 years. I don't think they will be open much longer and I certificate won't return.

Still waiting for our food ...we ordered at 6:30 it now 8:55 . Totally unexceptable. If you cannot fulfill orders you should nor take payment them. You have been in business long enough to know your demand cerve on any given day. Sadly this is the 3rd time now so I will not be using this takeaway again. I have used this restaurant for 25 yes as the food is always good but don't know what as happened to the service.

I ordered from the restaurant to collect food. Delivery was going to be an hour and a half. I was told a time. I turned up at the specified time and they informed me it would be another 25 minutes. Not impressed.

Placed order at 6.20 and it arrived at 9.15pm. Was only a small order. App originally said delivery 7.20pm. Food was nice but the wait spoilt it as I don’t eat this late at night

We’ve always used dilshad but disappointed this time. Ordered our food at 7 o’clock and 9.30 still no food! I get the footy is on but maybe have a note on ordering that food is taking 2 and a half hours to arrive! I don’t normally complain but I’m starving!!

Delivery slightly late and was pushed back once but once here food was piping hot and so tasty will definitely be back

Possibly the worst experience I've ever had. Bathrooms were beyond filthy and the corridor leading to it had marks only comparible to a mechanics workshop. My chair arm rest came detached from the chair when tucking myself in. We asked for 2 curry's madras hot. What was served had the consistency of baby food (Pathia and lamb Gohst). Not only did they not tast like these dishes. I asked them to try it as it wasnt right. They refused and said its ok i believe you..I asked them politely for it hot thinking this may make it palatable and it was what i ordered.. It came back 2 minutes later with a couple of chopped chillies on top which were actually mild peppers. No taste whatsoever. Left the whole dish after 2 mouthfuls. On top of that, watching waiters standing around picking their achne didn't help the vibe of the place. Still had to pay full price. No apology either. Avoid at all costs.

Hot and as expected very tasty food. The only thing that was a negative was one of the dips that came with the poppadoms had bust open in the bag.

Very poor service, waited ages to be seated, even longer to order, longer again to be served my starter, followed with a gap of 20 mins for my main. When it arrived it was severely lacking in quantity. Will honestly say that I’ll never grace these doors again. As always, Glasgow out preforms any where on the curry front.

Was really dissatisfied with the takeaway this evening. None of my personal requests were met. Everything was totally ignored. Food tasted like a korma rather than a sri lankan curry. More chips than chicken.

We had a lovely time, the food was hot, tasty and plentiful. The service was first class by Yamin as he remembered my husband by name from previous visits, and also knew which meal he would choose. Highly recommended.

Cant fault the food absolutely delicious. Unfortunately I cant say the same about the service unfriendly and slow. We had finished our main courses and plates collected. No offer desert coffee etc despite 3 people standing around not doing very much. No offer of hot towls to wipe your hands or even your bill. Had to go the desk to pay again no offer of towls etc. 2nd visit wont be going back purly down to the poor service

Hands down best curry in Hartlepool excellent food all of my company are now more than happy to come again.the service impeccable made me feel more than welcome shout out Hadi worth his weight in gold !

Ordered a takeaway for me and my family tonight through the website and paid on my card to then get a text message five minutes later saying my order had been cancelled but they had still took the money out of my bank (order was over £30) rang the takeaway up and they said there is nothing they can do about it and the money will be refunded back into my account within 3-5 working days and advised me to ring foodhub as they were putting the blame on them they then gave me a number. my partner spoke to them over the phone and they have said this is not their fault it is the a mistake on dilshads part. This is the first time I’ve ordered in a while (never usually have any problems ordering) Will not be ordering from here again which is a real shame. If anyone does order from here I advise not to order online.

Really liked the food and good service but got home and the bill was 80 pound for two ppl that is really expensive two starts two mains two largers 4 shots of sambuca and two jd n cokes and a pickle tray that is ridiculous for two ppl

Great. This restaurant has really raised its game recently. Always good for 10 lads full of drink but now a bit more sophisticated.

I have been eating at this restaurant, on and off, for over 25 years. The food is always acceptable and the staff attentive. Yesterday evening, a table for 6 in my name. 4 adults two children. As always, the food was fine. When it came to paying the bill, I passed £100 in cash to one of the waiters. I explained to him that this is towards the total bill and my friend would settle the rest. As myself and my friend have known each other for over 32 years, I was puzzled when he handed me £10. It turns out, when my friend went to pay the balance, the, 'Lady' at the till, told my friend, "he pay £60". We have all started discussing this now. Could the Dilshad please make all Internal CCTV footage public. Myself handing the waiter £100 in cash. The audio between myself and the waiter. Also the CCTV of the, 'Lady' that accepted and counted the cash. You folks have multiple cameras.

Ordered food 523pm to be delivered I was told 1hour 10 min wait 1 hour 23 minutes then decided to ring restaurant to be told delivery has just left on its way 30 minutes later no food so I rang again to be told I will check were the driver is I replied I want to cancel as its nearly 2 hours 🙃 then a knock at the door with the food I cancelled I explained to the driver what had happened he replied I've just left the restaurant now so they lied 🙃 I will never order from this takeaway again absolute disgrace 🙂.....

Chicken Parthia was poor,Bombay Aloo was actually pre-heated chips in a curry sauce. Just Eat service was fine.
