Lovely freshly cooked tasty food. Good portion sizes and good value for money. Would return again.

Enjoyed one of the best curry's I have had in Hartlepool. Chicken tikka chat was the best ever and for main, The balti was packed with flavour with just a lovely hit of spice. I cannot fault my experience with exceptional service in a well run and lovely clean and tidy environment . All finished off with a refreshing pint or 2 of Cobra. This was on Friday when the special was on and there was no compromising on the quantity of food provided, both dishes packed with chicken. If you have never been it is definitely somewhere you should try. I hope like me you will be impressed and it will now be my goto Indian in the town

Great tasting food, the only thing was, the menu isn't up to date, online and in the restaurant it says £9.50 for a 5 course dinner, only to be surprised with the bill saying its now £11.50, the menu should be updated or the staff should tell you of any increase or changes,this is how they catch you out,it was the only thing that annoyed me, otherwise, good food .

Food was of an excellent standard as we have now come to expect, fast service, friendly staff. Had to get a take out box as there was so much to eat.

Always go here. However, the past few weeks has seen an almost 50% increase in price with a reduction in portion size. Otherwise, really nice food!

First time I've ordered from Masala Lounge and it will be the first of many! I had to cancel my order through Just Eat as soon as I ordered as my fat thumbs hit the finish button prematurely and then did it correctly straight away. When the order arrived we were missing a few items but they were the ones I put on the re order after I messed up so probably a technical error and I take some of the blame! I called the restaurant stright away and was met by an extremely understanding, professional and helpful call handler! He quickly sorted our order and had it delivered in record time! 👏 I've travelled up and down the country and this is without a doubt the best Indian food and customer service I've had!

Wasn't impressed with the starter it was quite dry. It cost nearly £7. No cheese on the naan bread, which was disappointing. I wanted cashew rice, and it didn't contain a single cashew. The lamb is tender and lovely. I ordered a balti, and I basically got a chicken tikka, just a spicy version.

1st time in here for a sitty down and it didn't disappoint, food was spot on quite a while between courses but you drink more that's the plan.

Quite a boutique atmosphere, very modern and contemporary feel to the place. The food is out of this world, the flavours of the food and the colours are all very vivid and rich. I would recommend this restaurant to anybody.

Never been before and so glad we came! Was initially worried that because it was quiet it was for a reason, no need to be at all Chicken tikka starter was beautiful, not greasy or oily and super tasty. Dips and poppadoms all delicious. I ordered lamb shaslick which came on a red hot skillet, and was super tasty. My other half got tikka masala and said it was the best he'd had. It was 5 courses on a £10.95 special so even more amazing. Will defo use for any Indian meals we fancy going forward!

Loved the food here really good, quite a menu plenty to chose from. Very generous portions. We didn't eat in but it was busy in the restaurant.

Food was nice when it finally arrived. Waited an hour between starter and main. Finished the meal to transfer the money to the owner as card machine broken. Wasn't mentioned when we sat down. Won't come back. Kitchen looked manky too.

My meal was very nice but the Keema & Garlic Naan was a bit small and it had the keema was missing so I only got the garlic naan. I would ov give one more star if they got it right sorry ☹

The chicken was cold, dry and tasteless, the salad was missing and the chips didn't taste nice. You're best off going to the chippy.

Excellent food. The 5 course special is ridiculously brilliant value for money. 4 of us ate early Friday evening and we had four different starters and 4 different mains and no one was disappointed. All delicious. Friendly and attentive staff. If anything, we'd say the rice and naan portions were on the large side, and we couldn't finish... Seems a waste. 4 very happy diners. Would highly recommend. Support local businesses.

I’m guessing that the real chef was ill or they are training someone new, the reviews I read for this place were all pretty good so liking my curry my self my wife and father in law being on holiday thought why not.Now I don’t often bother with leaving poor reviews as we can all have a bad day but in this case I’m afraid I really must let people know how shocking the food was.Starters.My wife and father in law are partial to a nice onion Bahji and both orders this option, in both cases they left half of the first and didn’t try the second, they were described as being a little like the cheep Tesco variety wafted at a microwave, I had the prawn puri, my puri was soggy not crispy and the the prawns were like rubber and tasted like the had been cooked in gravy with a little tomato sauce added. Not pleasant, still we had our mains to look forward to so thought we would soldier on.My father in law isn’t a fan of hot curries so he had the tikka masala this looked like a plate of hinze cream of tomato soup with extra red food colouring, the chicken was cooked to death being both tough and dry, the sauce tasted like gravy with a little tomato sauce in it sound familiar? My wife had a trusted favourite of hers the tandoori mixed grill, well were to start on this one, the chicken was so dry we thought it was dehydrated the lamb chops were burnt the kebab was hard to the point of being crunchy and the flavour well you probably can guess it was like burnt gravy with a little tomato sauce.Now with mine I may be being a little unfair as it’s the first time I’ve tried this dish it’s called lamb delicacy and the description sounds lovely and as I like it with a highly flavoured sauce, well my bits of rubber ( lamb chunks) and burnt offerings ( lamb chops) came covered in an unappealing looking brown sauce the onion was so burnt that it was very bitter and the sauce tasted like gravy with a little tomato sauce added. Now I know that I have been harsh here but this was truly the worst curry I have ever had and I have had a lot of curries over the years. This may also surprise but the waiter was lovely very polite and attentive, the place itself was clean and nicely decorated, just a shame that the chef was ill or they were training a new boy.

We got invite to Masala Lounge tonight by friends. The food were excellent but we waited a little too long for it. As they say well worth waiting for.

Budget place lovely food especially chicken paneer starter! It's amazing for what it is.

Great night at the Masala Lounge! Food was perfect and the staff were so attentive and friendly. I was part of a large group. We had the buffet menu. Extremely pleased with everything. Would definitely return.

Waited 1hr 45 minutes for a starter. Didnt have main course due to length of wait . Waiter service was abysmal. Did not ask if we wanted more drinks. The place only had 6 people in. In the end we left. Absolutely shocking service. Please avoid! If I could leave less than one star I would. A shame when it used to be a good place

If I could give zero stars I would. Ordered food for delivery never arrived. When called they just didn't answer the phone.... Useless. Avoid

Love the food always tastes the same, delicious won't go anywhere else

Ordered a takeaway to collect which normally takes 20 minutes. We were told it would be 30 mins. Arrived to collect it after 30 mins and had to wait another 20 mins. Asked the waiter why it was taking so long and he just shrugged his shoulders. Shocking service and way to run a business - I’d be ashamed if it was my business. On the plus side the food was lovely but will not be going back.

What a joke - worst takeaway ever!! 2.5 hours and still waiting for a takeaway that’s never going to arrive. Seriously if you fancy an Indian avoid this one at all costs.

Me and my hubby had a meal here Saturday 11th Nov 2017. The place was very quiet but we were told its Fridays and Sundays when its really busy. The place had recently been burgled twice were all the meat and booze had been stolen. Its a small place and wasn't quite keen on the lighting but omg the food was fantastic. We both had chicken balti, the best we'd ever tasted, a kima nan, pilau rice and chips, 1 cobra and a coke all for under £25. That's gotta be the cheapest night out. I really recommend this place, you won't be disappointed.

I visited this restaurant on recommendation and i've got to say it was the best decision of my life! I've been in hartlepool for a year now and have never really found an indian restaurant with good food. That was until I came here. Not only the food but the service was excellent. Staff were really helpful, attentive and have good banter, which is very rare for a restaurant. If you want great food this is the place to be. Will definitely be returning!!!!

Regularly have a sit down indian with friends. After being frequently disappointed with other familiar restaurants around seaton and church street (either by crap food, only having 4 bits of meat in your curry or enduring an hour+ wait for your main while they try and milk you at the bar), we have now been to or ordered a takeaway, 10+ times from Masala Lounge. Every time- faultless food. Generous portions. Very pleasant staff and atmosphere. Great value. Wouldn't risk going anywhere else. Keep up the good work!

Lovely food. Probably the best Indian food in town, although not the best of locations. Service can be either fast or slow, you take your chance. Do take away food aswell.

Had a beautiful meal in masala lounge last night. Food was delightful and staff were fabulous. Would recommend this place 👏👏

On the upside these dishes are huge I got lamb korma with chips the lamb was tender and tasty but the chips very dry. The staff are great, helpful and friends. U would go again but not get the chips.

Me and my partner visited this place last friday after a friend recommended it, never been to a more vile place in all my life, the food was late even though the restaurant was almost empty and when the food did arrive the starter had no taste and the main course was cold and flavourless, when i raised this issue with the waiter he very ignorantly replied if you dont like the food then you can go elsewhere!!! Personally i think that is disgusting and rude, if im paying for food and service i expect the best, wouldnt ever return!! Also the atmosphere was very boring and uncomfortable

I was staying on business in Hartlepool and decided to give the Masala Lounge a try.So glad I did, the samosa to start with were good and the madras I had with onion rice and the plain nan bread were all extremely good. The staff were very friendly too, definitely worth a visit

First visit here while visiting family and if lived here would be a regular ! Kids aged 13 & 11 were made welcome and loved their chicken tikka masala and tandoori cocktail ( tandoori mixed grill) . Onion bhajis some of the best I've ever eaten and my dansak was great too. Naan breads were obviously handmade and delicious.Give it a try !

Waited a little for our main course but it was rather pleasing we knew our meal was made to perfection and was cooked to perfection! The atmosphere created was fantastic, the cobra on draught was fantastic.. 5 star! Recommend to anyone

party of seven and had a glorious array of food and how anyone can say different i don't know, owner took our order and asked us if we wanted it mild r extra spice, nice to have the option, we had our poppadoms with pickles then our starters and asked f we could hold off from our main for about 20 minutes to let what we had settle, then when our food arrived in abundance we knew we were never going to finish it but were asked if we would like it bagged to take away,then free shots for all.i can honestly say i would recommend to come again, and if you like a your food a bit more spicier don't be afraid to ask as they will cater to your needs,as food is cooked fresh

Don't know what is going on Masala Lounge but this place is certainly going down the pan, hope things get sorted out because it was a lovely place to eat, good food, nice atmosphere but last night was a different story. We had family up from Birmingham so it was very disappointing as we always rave about this place. :-(((

We had our first takeaway from this place and the last. We ordered 3 main meals 3 rice dishes and 2 breads. The meal came on time but the food was neither hot or spicy. One of the main dishes had 4 large half potatoes in the bottom. We did not eat all the food it was that poor.I rang the restaurant to complain about the quality, I also asked why they had put in the potatoes they said that was the recipe but there was nothing in the menu to back up his claim when I pointed this out to the man on the phone he rang off

Not up to usual standards of an Indian resturant.Staff not very helpfull,food not good. Place could do with a good thorough cleaning. Not very competative on prices.

This restaurant is immaculate, its a shame it was empty and lacking atmosphere.The food was reasonably priced, beautifully presented and very tasty.The only criticism is that the seats were very uncomfortable especially forthose with back trouble or elderly.Parking is not great either but the meal was more than ample and i would recommenda visit, don't forget to take a cushion !

I have visited this restaurant on numerous ocassions. What a good atmosphere, and the staff, and owner Raj are so friendly and helpful. If you visit on a Wednesday or Friday it is specials night, which makes the cost even cheaper for this superb Indian cuisine. This is the best Indian restaurant in this area, and puts other restaurants, including Italian etc to shame. See you soon Raj, Ian Lancaster.

Visited the restaurant with a large group of my friends. We were seated straight away even though we had not booked. Service was brilliant as well as the food, best Indian I've ever had. Will be visiting again soon and would recommend to anyone! Best Indian restaurant in town

The restaurant has great staff that are always extremely helpful and friendly. This gives the restaurant a great atmosphere and makes you want to go neck again and again. After visiting various times the food has always been the best quality and you get an unbelievably great food experience at a great price. A restaurant of very high quality.

Excellent service from start to finish.....great value for money and bottles of wine at a good price also. The food was excellent and was cooked to perfection....would definitely recommend and will go back for more! I think the only downside was the menu colour with the lighting but don't let this put you off.

it was the 1st time for her in a Indian restaurant(we think) and she got a chicken korma which she did not like,just eating some boiled rice and chips. our meals were spot on, couldn't have been better. the owner or manager came over to talk to us asking the little one what she liked and so on and came out with a dish of chicken tandoori on the house for her to try and yes she ate best part of the meal,, a big thank you for a little time spent over our little girl

I am writing in reply to a gentleman who was in this restaurant when a man with learning difficulties was also in the vicinity. I think people have misunderstood on what the gentleman was saying; people with learning difficulties are obviously welcome anywhere however the behaviour of the gentleman in question was quite disgraceful. I was in there with my boyfriend this evening and we were very uncomfortable with the constant behaviour of the gentleman who continuously shouted across the restaurant, trying to seat customers and giving them wrong menu's, answering the telephone without taking orders etc. We were very shocked that this was allowed, as the gentleman's family paid no attention to him we were hoping the staff would solve them problem - and they did not.I am not saying that people with learning difficulties shouldn't be in places like this - what i am saying, is that if this behaviour was coming from a child or a drunk then it would not be acceptable, therefore why should it be accepted from anyone?However on this visit and the times I have been after, the food and service has been superior. It is definitely the best indian in this town and for miles around ... And we will be back.

I am writing in return to a comment put on the site about the masala lounge regarding a male with learning disabilities, I was in the restraunt in the night in question and everything that was published was so untrue. The male was enjoying himself with his family and it was good to see the owners can accommodate every walks of life, no matter colour religion or disability. The food was spot on and I think the people who can post comments like this clearly need to be more educated about life of today. The owners and the food are very good , and you are always welcome no matter who you are. Well done
