The Golden Dragon in Thurrock

This is the best Chinese takeaway we have nearby and the food is always amazing. Only annoyance is having to wait to get through but I appreciate everyone locally wants to get an excellent takeaway x

I called to confirm they would be open Christmas Day evening as it’s just me and my son and he wanted a Chinese this year - lady confirmed open from 5pm on Christmas Day. It’s 5.50pm and the shop is shut. - totally ruined our Christmas Day when it’s already a difficult time for us.

Made an order over 2 hours ago, phoned up after an hour and 10 minutes to find out how order was coming along, got told driver had just walked out the door, further 30 minutes goes by and no sign so call again to be told driver hadn't left and will be 5 minutes, waited a further 15 minutes and still no sign, phoned again and kept being told didn't know where driver was and would call me back, never called me, I phoned again only to have the call answered and then put down on me. Cancelling order as now over 2 and half hours since ordering and still no food.

I have tried on numerous occasions to contact The Golden Dragon for either collection / delivery. It takes forever to get through due to always being engaged. Last week I actually got through to this take away after trying for just under an hour for collection. I finally got through and was put on hold for 10 minutes by this time I was outside the shop. when I went in the phone rang and the person was put on hold. I reminded the person behind the counter only to be told that's OK what is it you want. I said that they needed a person just to man the phone and I told them they would lose custom only for the lady to laugh at me. I have been trying tonight whilst working to get through to place an order for delivery and again have been trying for over an hour. I will now go elsewhere and The Golden Dragon have lost a customer

Food was ok, until I found a bit of blue plastic in my bbq ribs, as shown in the pic. My wife had chicken rice noodles which had no flavour to it at all, first time we have tried it and last time unfortunately

Would like to say we have been using the golden dragon takeaway for a number of years we live about 2 miles from the takeaway but we love the food in the golden dragon all the food is always cooked freshly while you wait the chefs are really friendly and most helpful the prices are on par with other takeaways we have a Chinese in our village but we much prefer the golden dragon we would recommend you give the takeaway a try , We would recommend all the king prawn selection. We recommend the takeaway for lovely food and excellent customer service fluffyessex

This take-away offers excellent food at a give away price compared to where I live. Try the mixed sweet and sour chicken, pork and prawn balls with plain fried rice, it is more than a meal.

The food was cold the lady on the front desk was very rude and become cross as we asked for something and she noted it as something else and when we asked a third time she said we said something else so had a order that had to be changed we then had to ask her for our change also. we ended up going dewent chinese from then on

Standard oriental fare. all the usual favourites are there, the staff are friendly and best of all they do home delivery

Fairly average chinese takeaway that i've used on and off for a few years. There is nothing stand-out about the food, but the staff are friendly. The main reason I use the Golden Dragon is that it is one of the few chinese take aways locally that does home delivery
