Golden Express in Thurrock

Always great food from Golden Express. I usually order on phone and collect but their delivery service is pretty quick too. I recommend the King Prawns in Garlic sauce. We were offered it as a taster years back and hooked. This is definitely one of the best Chinese takeaways anywhere .

I like the food, but there was a misunderstanding regarding the 2-mile free delivery. I checked, and my location was under 2 miles. I think the 2-mile limit should be changed if you want to earn more. I did not give a tip because of this.

I recently got some food from this restaurant and have unfortunately been left with a very bad stomachache as a result

Late back tonight decided to try this takeaway m, rather than my usual one chadwell. Was not disappointed, food was really nicely cooked , and the price for 5 items was much lower than I used to pay. I was lucky to get my takeaway in 15 mins as the phone never stopped ringing. This will now be my local

It's a takeaway, so it not glamorous in the ordering/waiting room but it's ok

This area is amazing. The food is yummy and cared for and the costomer Service is wonderful. This could not be better!Even my son was saying this was the best.

Have only ordered at the counter, the staff are very polite and very quick to take an order. Service is always quick and the food is always served piping hot as you would expect. The portion sizes are great, enough for two people even if you are only ordering a dish usually meant for one person. Would definitely recommend, the food always tastes fresh. Delicious 😁

Rubbish - we tried to order a take out by phone -BUT my card is linked to a Norfolk address and as I wanted to treat a friend who I was visiting in Tilbury -they refused to accept it. My card has and continures to be excepted worldwide. So angry and embarrised - just be-aware.

Absolutely disgusting service got my order wrong wanted more money for the food that was missing which I had already paid for got spoken to very badly and that was the manager she needs to get trained in customer service food was very poor too I have been using this shop for years and have always had a better service experience so sorry to say won't be using them any more

Call up to get a delivery to my parents house as I’ve done previously on many occasions. I wanted to use my card and treat my parents to dinner. I was told the card had to be registered at the address I was ordering from. They took all my card details before telling me this. Then told me I was committing fraud. I’m committing fraud You sure. 👌 Shame as the foods really good but the service is shocking. I won’t be using them again.

Excellent and good quality food.

Gave it a try, ending up being a stupid mistake I had emperors fried rice that ended up giving me food posing. I have been stuck at home being sick and laying by the toilet I recommend you don't eat here. Really disappointed

After trying most Chinese in the area we have found this one to be good value for money. They are very helpful and the food is very tasty. The potion sizes are very fair and as I say for the area the price is very fair.

Food has a good standard, some prices offer great deals but some are a bit lacking, for example; 6 fried ‘Chicken balls’ + big sauce pot for £2.80 is a nice deal, on the other hand, ‘King Do style Ribs’ for £4.80 taste amazing but the portion size is TINY, only got like 2 and a half ribs whereas from large Tesco you could buy a whole rack of bbq ribs for like £4 (10+ ribs vs 2). Staff are very friendly, you won’t leave without a smile, also a very cozy spot if you’re wandering around late after a zoot on an empty stomach

Food from this place is disgusting. The chow mein was literally dry and overcooked (no onions or beansprouts either, just noodles). The egg fried rice ... The egg tasted gone off. The curry, clumpy and gooey. The chilli chips though were really nice. I will never go back, because it's just not good food.

Portion sizes are ridiculously small and they don’t specify on whether to get regular or large.

Had chinese from here last week. My first time and very last time. The egg fried rice was gooey sludge and it tasted like the egg had gone off! The chow mein tasted dry. The curry was like a lump of goo. The chips however ... Especially the chilli garlic chips, were nice. Very friendly staff, nice delivery driver. Decent prices, but AWFUL food.

best chinese in thurrock in my opinion only thing is the prawn toast could be less oily :) other than that, the food is wonderful great portions for the price too!!

Absolute awful & tasteless food! Worse takeaway in Essex! Buyer beware & avoid at all costs.

We’re new to the area and ordered some food. We got prawn toast, crispy chilli squid, pork dumplings, crab and sweetcorn soup and quarter duck. Sadly the duck was only decent thing. The little crispy squid on top of all the veg wasn’t crispy and the squid was chewy, the prawn toast was literally just fried toast with sesame seeds. I tore it apart as I couldn’t taste any prawns and there wasn’t any. The soup was flavourless as was the pork dumplings the only thing we ate was the duck. The rest of the £22.30 order went in the bin. Sadly that will be the last order I get from here.

Ordered at 6pm for an 8pm delivery. Turned up gone 9pm cold, chewy and tasteless. Buyers beware.

Its been a while trying to find a decent Chinese but now since finding golden Express in stifford i will not use any other resturant Hands down best food ive had in a long time Portion sizes are fair Fair prices Good customer service

Poor foo crap info on delivery rude staff.. I used this Chinese at least once a week but no more ...girl who answers phone needs to be taught some manners 2 hours waiting for food

Lovely delicious food, sometimes slow answering the phone, which could mean they're busy, but on the upside delivery is always on time, with food still hot

Been ordering here for years! Never had a problem. Only recently they have been speaking to me like trash on the phone. Not happy at all with the customer service! Will never go back.

First time we tried it and to be honest we will never go back to our regular takeaway, flavours wete amazing in everything we ordered.

Best Chinese in Grays. Seamless ordering and delivery usually quicker than the 45 minutes quoted. Excellent food and piping hot. Well worth it. We are regular customers always satisfied.

Chefs and front if house have a special magic which is carried over to the cooking. Try it once and you will go back

Absolutely crap food. I have avoided this place for a yr and hoped it had got better. Claggy rice that tasted like it had been reheated a few times. Mixed sweet and sour ball that were over cooked, dry and hard. Pancake roll you could tip the oil out of. Disgusting food. Never again.

Very nice service and very good food

Normally you get great service, that is as long at the young lady is working at the front. This evening however like most Sunday's she wasn't there. I walked in stood waiting to order my food, with 1 other person waiting to order like me. The man answered the phone 3 times before asking me what I wanted just I was about to order the phone rang again and I was told to wait a moment. Needless to say I walked out, waiting 20mins just to order takes the piss. Phone calls keep being taken before 2 people standing in front of you isn't on, It's bloody rude. The Sunday service needs to be sorted out

The most revolting food I have ever eaten curry sauce tastes more like rotten fruit will never go back

Vile food last weekend. Cold. Tasteless. Grissly chicken (tasted nothing like chicken) Contacted them to complain on Saturday night. Told i would be called back by the manager on Sunday. No call received. Had to throw most of the meal away for fear of being poisoned...

Great food , friendly service. I have been using this takeaway for several years and always been happy with the quality of the food. I will ring the order through and collect but there is a delivery service. For collection it tends to be never more than 20 minutes.

Absolutely rude to me on the phone food took hour and half to come and was cold , over priced for what I got . delivery woman on other hand was lovely which is why I give 2 stars

This is our favourite Chinese takeaway - the food is always freshly cooked to order, portions are good and the delivery service is good when needed.

Very good takeaway been using it for around 15 years get the occasional average dish but normally very good.

I use this one a lot as it's convenient for me, 99% of the time all is great occasions not so great.

I always use this take away I have found it to be the best around for the food and price. You never have to wait long even at the weekend

This restaurant's bad food is only surpassed by the service you receive there. Bad food. Bad service, and bad attitudes. Not for me.
