The Glyn Valley Hotel in Wrexham

It was my fourth stay at your hotel, I absolutely love it. So cosy, clean and friendly. Love that we can bring the dogs and they are made to feel so welcome too. Rooms are decorated lovely and are always so clean and comfortable. The staff who I have seen some of each time I have stayed can’t do enough for you and work so hard. I can’t recommend your hotel enough to anybody thinking of a a quaint, quiet place to stay with their dogs in a lovely part of wales 😊

Very clean throughout, very recently decorated. Room good size and great views. Food well priced and top quality. Free strong WiFi. Good choices of ales. Staff helpful, friendly and welcoming. Would recommend.

The room was much, much smaller than expected and close to a room with a group of people, laughing and screaming, and quite drunk! Then there was the “Restaurant” experience. i ordered a burger because it came with a salad. However, there was 1 small leaf under the burger (soggy, tasteless and greasy burger). When I asked about the salad, the person who served me indicated the one leaf. It truly felt like a Monty Python movie. Not to talk about the waiting time: appointment to eat at 19.30, dinner arrived 20.40. Truly awful!

Lovely happy place. Clean and well looked after. Reception guy -owner! Top guy. Chatty. Attentive and very polite. Lovely food. Lovely area. Quiet and just what we needed after camping. The bed was super comfortable. Shower hot and super powerful. Tv sound. Views sound. Relaxed and quiet. Games and few good choices on the menu. I went for 2 starters and that was spot on. Room.3 was clean and we loved it. 10/10 be back again to see this little gem 💎 Thanks alot xx

Wedding Anniversary overnight stay. Great surroundings. Meet & greet superb. Food. Absolutely dreadful. Asked at 5 o'clock for the dinner menu and told the " Chef" was preparing it. Went tin to restaurant at 7. 5 of the 6 choices (see photo) for dinner was frozen food. No peppercorn sauce, cheesecake or syrup sponge. The deep fried sausages in the sausage and mash should only be used in hand to hand combat. The triangular preformed frozen fish and frozen chips left a lot to be desired. In all an anniversary meal we will always remember for the wrong reasons. It was a continental breakfast in the morning as I think they just couldn't be bothered to cook anything. If you stay in this quiet, relaxing , rural hotel. EAT OUT.

Great hotel, great staff. Only gripe is the food menu which is very limited and at £14 for basically a Birds Eye burger, not great value for money. Would stay again though as everything else was fine, will just grab a Just Eat next time ;)

Lovely pub grub in generous portions, local real ales, friendly and efficient service. Comfortable dining and bar areas. We ate here 2 nights running and we're more than satisfied.

Great little place just a short drive from Llangollen, we stayed here en route to our final destination in north wales for a long weekend. Made to feel very welcome upon arrival, with one young lady showing us to our room which was a nice, traditional touch. There was no wine list, so couldn’t really see what the choices were before ordering, resulting in quite a steep price for a bottle for us to share (we did ask but we’re told they hadn’t been printed). The food in the hotel itself is relatively average and quite dry, so wouldn’t particularly rush back to dine there. We had booked a superior room, which is advertised as having a working coffee machine, but this wasn’t the case when we got to the room. A standard kettle and a few tea bags and coffee sachets isn’t quite what we were expecting. The room’s linen was wonderful and overall spectacularly clean. Breakfast as a whole was adequate and continental, which is a dreadful shame considering where the property is located. They could easily support local suppliers to produce an excellent cooked breakfast, even if it had come at an extra cost - I’d have happily paid it. To conclude, and even as a young person, I feel obliged to have to point out that the absence of ‘managerial/experienced oversight’ was definitely noticeable, which placed employees sometimes in difficult situations when being asked about drink and food choices. When questioned, the site manager seemed a little more interested in running the newly purchased/acquired pub; The Oak, just up the road from the hotel. I understand colleagues need time to use their initiative, but one colleague had stated it was her first day. Overall I have to say poor leadership. Despite this, the place is clean, comfortable and ideally situated if you’re looking for a one/two night stay.

This is my second visit within a couple weeks and it was very different. We were back in the area to finish the Ceiriog Valley trail. On our first visit the food was exceptional with lots of choice and variety, Karl the host, possible owner was very attentive and food knowledgeable. The second visit was much different. The menu was not the same, limited to say the least. We were waiting over well an hour for an overcooked burger and fish and chips. Dishes which shouldn’t have such a lead time. My friend was going to order the balti, but the table next to us were complaining how dry it was. Can’t understand the difference in quality in such a short period of time. On asking the young front of house member of staff, they quietly told me they had a different chef that night. This makes sense, but the standard was definitely not the same and I won’t be returning. We didn’t stay for dessert for obvious reasons, the ones the previous week had been excellent. Young waiting staff were well trained although it was apparent some were new.

My main review of this hotel was in regards to the excellent service received from the employees n arrival and during our evening meal. Unfortunately the hotel failed in the breakfast provision. I, expecting a full English was very disappointed to be greeted with a continental style breakfast. Anyone visiting must therefore also be prepared not to have bacon, sausage etc.

I visited as I was staying at the valley in my campervan with my dog. The gentlemen behind the bar who was also serving food was lovely from start to finish. It’s sometimes daunting to go places by yourself but he treated us lovely and made us feel very welcome. The food and drink was also lovely especially the scotch egg! We will definitely return. The beers are ill kept i got a pint of magic it was flat and well from here the name is the only thing magic about it. The whole place is shabby and ill kept. Magníficas vistas y fácil acceso a Llangollen. Muy limpio y la habitación 1 fue una tamaño ideal para dos adultos y un nieto de 6 años. El baño completo era razonable tamaño, a diferencia de algunos hemos estado en donde no hay suficiente espacio para el codo para secarte después de una ducha, y un montón de toallas suaves. Justo al otro lado de una calle tranquila hay un parque infantil para los más pequeños y otra separada para los niños mayores, ambos con buen equipo.Al llegar nos saludaron por dos chicas muy servicial y nos llevaron a nuestra habitación. Después nos reunimos con el dueño, que es un auténtico caballero. El desayuno era muy agradable, tanto en las mañanas, con algo para todos en suite. Tuvimos una cena impecable cada noche en el hotel, bien preparado, bien presentada y caliente. Después nos reunimos con el dueño y él es un auténtico caballero. La desventaja es que el comedor está cerca del bar y nuestro hijo de 6 años podría oír el idioma bastante claramente colorido de los lugareños que estoy seguro de que no me f y Jeff delante de sus jóvenes. También la habitación 1 es directamente sobre la zona de comedor, un edificio antiguo hay tablas entre cada planta y obviamente sin aislamiento, cada sonido individual, así que puede ser oído desde la bebedores mientras intentaba dormir, pero creo que el aislamiento acústico es parte del plan para mejorar aunque sea en detrimento de la personalidad por perder el techo de vigas a la vista. Me imagino que las habitaciones en la segunda planta hay una zona mucho más tranquila. Dicho esto yo recomiendo encarecidamente este lugar y volveré en el futuro no muy lejano

Decidimos comer aquí de nuevo después de visitar el año pasado. El personal del bar/camarera era tan servicial como el año pasado. Nada era demasiado problema. La trucha fresca ceiriog era absolutamente delicioso, y sin duda lo recomiendo. Comimos aquí durante la semana, así que era muy tranquila, pero el servicio y la comida era estupenda.

Este es un prometedor lugar buscando desde fuera, pero tan pronto como entra se da cuenta que está luchando. Marcus el propietario de oficios en el hecho de que él es suizo, y para ser sincero, la comida suiza basada que tuve fue bien. Sin embargo mi lubina de mi esposa estaba un poco aburrida con un auce' que parecía consistir enteramente de conservas de tomate.El lugar parece bastante deteriorada, con alfombras en mal estado y la decoración, pero el personal era acogedor y servicial. Si es domingo o lunes no tienes mucho donde elegir, pero si es cualquier otro día yo diría que 'El Roble' más arriba de la calle alta es una mejor opción.

Visitamos este pub para cenar (nos alojamos en una casa rural justo arriba de la carretera). Menú - no demasiado precioso muchas opciones (para que sepas que no todos los hechos/congelado) y un montón de platos de pescado local. El servicio era muy bueno - La camarera muy servicial. La comida era estupenda, realmente disfrutamos de la comida.

He visitado el Glyn Valley Hotel varias veces, normalmente con mi madre, y siempre tienen una excelente comida. Ayer fuimos con mis hijas de 11 y 12 años. Mi madre tenía curry, mis hijas la Penne pasta penne carbonara, y tuve el hongo carne stroganoff Pancake. Todos estuvimos de acuerdo en que la comida era excelente. Mi mi hija de 12 años comentó después que ella volvería a comer esa comida cada día si podían porque era tan deliciosa. En el pasado he disfrutado las tortillas y el Labrador's. Soy vegetariano y es agradable tener una buena selección de comidas. También es un buen lugar para entrar sólo para café y tarta. Es un ambiente muy agradable, y me gusta el hecho de que el dueño, Markus, ha mantenido las características tradicionales originales del hotel, incluyendo las chimeneas abiertas.

Nos hemos mudado recientemente a Glyn Ceiriog y el Glyn Valley está a una corta distancia de la carretera. Mi hermano vino a ver que nos lo llevamos a cenar allí. Ya que está fuera de temporada la joven camarera era por su propia cuenta pero conseguimos llegar a 3 bien cocinada, deliciosas comidas dentro de un plazo razonable. Su actitud fue muy soleado y servicial. Bien hecho! Usted merece un ascenso!

Nos alojamos en una cabaña en Glyn Ceriog unos días a visitar el pub en un par de ocasiones. todo el mundo nos pareció muy amable y nos hicieron más que bienvenido con nuestro perro y nos dejaron dentro de la cena. La comida era muy buena, con un montón de variedad en el menú, y de £40.00 por un plato principal y dulce para nosotros dos, nos pareció una buena relación calidad-precio.

Stayed two nights with mates. Rustic inn ran by very friendly Swiss owner, Marcus, who incidentally, is a blinking good cook. Steak was delicious as was the black pudding starter (had that one two nights in a row). Bar staff very friendly. My single room failed the swinging cat test, but was newly decorated and very clean indeed. Tea provided and small telly, for £45per night. Real ales good too. We will stay again when we revisit.

The food was ok edible for a lunch snack although over priced.The hotel looks like its in need of some TLC. The surroundings are dull and out dated.Toilets could be smelt from the restaurant area...not good

As it is so difficult to find a restaurant in The Ceiriog Valley, we had no option but to visit. However, we were pleasantly surprised. The menu was broad, with Swiss specialities, good prompt helpful service and good portions. The staff were friendly and welcoming and the food and price was good. Maybe the room and bar is in need of decoration and lacks atmosphere being so old fashioned. However, some people may describe it as quaint. Maybe I wouldn't recommend this establishment but would describe it as adequate.
