Went for lunch today. Ordered quiche which arrived cold. Second attempt not much better. Forget one meal and they decided to cancel a side of chips, they said that they had removed them from the bill, good job really as we never had them. Shame really nice place let down by mediocre food and disinterested staff. There are better places in Longton.

Visited The Glost House today for the first time. Easy to park next to the cafe. Lovely use of an old building with decor appropriate to the historic era but with a clean spacious modern feel. Plenty of space in between the tables to allow for privacy of conversation with different types of seating and tables sizes to choose from. I enjoyed an Americano with hot milk, a deli board with my own choice of four ingredients from a list of options and some lovely fresh seeded bread. I was feeling really full after that but couldn’t resist taking home one of the lovely cakes to eat later today. A great experience for just £15.40 all in.

Lovely little spot tucked away off the main road. Called in for breakfast whilst waiting for our works van to be fixed. Breakfast was delicious, lady behind the counter was lovely, would recommend coming here for breakfast. With regards the doorstep toast on the breakfast too it was definitely a good wedge.

We visited the Glost House Cafe for the first time today and will definitely be back. The coffee was one of the best I have tasted and the staff were so very friendly and helpful. As a vegan, I was super impressed at the selection of plant milks available and the variety of menu choices. My main reason for visiting today was the pop up shop for RM Vegan Cakes, and as usual they didn’t disappoint, but to discover such a fantastic cafe was an added bonus. We can’t wait to come back. We visited for coffee at 2pm to be greeted by, you've just caught us cleaning', not a welcoming greeting. We ordered our drinks, then told at 2:45 they were closing at 3:15pm, the website states 3:30pm. We felt we were in the way. We'll meet at Costa coffee next time.

As a regular customer I can say that the food is absolutely delicious 😋 the cakes in particular are fresh and made on the premises. However, the waiting staff who I later heard was the manageress and who was serving us, is: Rude Abrupt Shows favouritism to people who she personally knows. I have noticed a high staff turn over….is this related? I will not be returning until changes or further training is undertaken

We drove past this place million times and never noticed it untill today. We were really surprised how lovely the place look (despite rundown neighbourhood). The building looks lovely both inside and outside. Jacket potato and the sandwich was really tasty

Nice lunch surrounded by the history of the old Glost House. It was quiet when we visited, staff were very friendly and food lovely. There is free parking outside. You could easily drive past so keep your eyes peeled.

Somebody needs to investigate how good this cheesecake was from michelin or something. I never left a review for anything in my life but whoever made this cheese cake needs to be looked at as it was the finest thing I ever ate.

Avoid like the plague! Rude and unaccommodating owner. Simply asked for a table with a plug socket and was accused of trying to force others to leave. If you value having a good day, move on and take your business elsewhere.

Wonderful place to eat with wonderful staff well proportionate meal was served with great attention to detail placed with everything from egg in the hole to the banoffee cake served to perfection will definitely be returning

Felt a nuisance Asked for the egg in the hole to be poached and for it to be runny The two main breakfasts arrived first, average food, sausage over cooked and tasted of strong herbs. Different sizes of eggs on the two plates. My son felt out done. When the egg in the hole arrived (again different sizes of eggs) they had been fried. I explained to the Server that I had requested poached, only to be TOLD, you asked for runny! I was informed that they were baked, they weren’t as they would have had a “skin” on them and they didn’t, they were greasy. I agreed that I wanted runny eggs, but poached NOT fried. “So you want poached eggs then ?”, rude. This totally put me off eating and I declined. My husband and son ate theirs, I went hungry. Staff need a course in customer service We won’t be back.

Went to this little cafe restaurant for the first time and wasn’t disappointed. Despite the rundown nature of some of the neighbouring properties in the area, this historic building has been carefully restored and the cafe has an excellent industrial themed interior. Whilst the menu is not the most extensive, what they do offer is excellent quality and brilliant value. The service was both polite and speedy. Will definitely return with friends as it also has an on-site carpark which makes visits easy. Thank you for a lovely lunch.

I love coming to the glost house it’s mine and my friends go to place for breakfast or lunch date. Nothing but helpful staff that are sometime rushed if the feet. The sandwiches are lovely and cakes amazing. Thank you again for my lovely lunch. Until next time keep serving🥰🥰

I came in for a coffee and a scone to end my lovely day that I’ve just had visiting family in the area and I’m sad to say that I will never be returning. The scone was as hard as a house brick, it’s safe to say I nearly lost a tooth in eating it! and the coffee wasn’t any better, I don’t think the cup was washed as it had lipstick on it. And as for the staff, there was definitely a lack of communication there. won’t be returning.

My Mum and I went to visit the Glost house when we first came inside we were greeted my one of the servers who rolled her eyes when we asked to look at both the drinks and food menus. We were then shown to a table of two, my mum asked if it was possible to sit in one of the other tables with a bench as we wanted to sit with each other. There was only two other tables with people the rest of the cafe was empty the server again rolled her eyes and said that we couldn’t sit there and had to sit in the table we were supposed to sit at. We then walked out as couldn’t believe the rudeness from the staff. We normally avoid the glost house as the staff are normally rude and act as though you are the problem when you ask for anything. Not good hospitality, we went to Costa instead.

Dine here regularly with my parents and daughter. Lovely place, food is always nice and the staff are friendly. We particularly enjoy the Quasadias and oatcakes. Would definitely recommend.

Lovely place free parking friendly staff. In these times of Covid it’s very difficult to offer accurate reviews when both staff and customers are restricted so much but some places seem to manage so well even with the restrictions and this wa one of them.

Cute cafe/restaurant with a nice selection of breakfast/lunch items (we only had coffee there but the menu looked good). Homemade cakes also looked great, and we would definitely have eaten there if we had more time (just wanted a quick coffee before an appointment). Coffees were good quality and we enjoyed the ambience of the place. Waitress was also friendly and the covid regulations in place made us feel safe. Would definitely go back.

Had Beans on toast very filling ! Was enough! They seem to do quite well here love this area full of history and character I'd eat here again deffinateley

Visited with my family on a Saturday afternoon for an afternoon. I have never seen so much food for 6 people. An amazing selection of cakes, all baked on the premises and lovely touches such as a vegetable cous cous that you would not normally get with an afternoon tea. I thought it was fantastic value and I'm looking forward to visiting again next time I'm in Stoke on Trent.

We went for breakfast which is sever till 11 AM. I was delighted that they had a veggie breakfast suitable for a coeliac. So I had 2 rounds of toast with eggs baked in them and avians baked tomato on the side. I also had a lot of tea.My friend had the meat breakfast. They thought it was over priced for what it was. The venue was adhering to social distancing. They are partaking in the eat out to help out scheme.The service was terribly slow, even when a third member of staff arrive for their shift. My friend’s sausages were over done, dry and hard. They were replaced but it took a long time to bring them out. They came out with a further piece of toast and more sauce which was appreciated. The staff were very friendly.I like the look of the deli lunch but the wait time for food to be served has put me off returning.

I was working nearby and a colleague recommended trying the Glost House. As a former historic building, a lot of effort has been taken to preserving it. It was a great place to hold a meeting, the coffee was great and the cakes were very tempting. There are lots of nice historic touches that complete the setting.

The service here was polite and the inside and surroundings are beautiful. The food was really very nice and we would certainly visit again. The parking was very busy and I had to wait for a space. I'm not sure if this was full where you would park as an alternative due to its location. Very reasonably priced.

Lovely informal cafe set in a firmer potbank. What they do they do well- light spacious premises with car parking. Oatcakes 10/10.

I am becoming a regular visitor to this fine cafe located in a great setting which was once a thriving pottery manufacturer in the heart of the potteries. Here i can get the best large flat white coffee served in Stoke on Trent (and i've sampled them all). The food has always been excellent, the staff are always very friendly and helpful and the place is clean and tastefully decorated. (also Wi Fi connection). It is next door to the Portmeirion outlet too, and with me being a clayhead it's definitely ticking all my boxes. Well worth a visit.

Return visit and not disappointed. Food and drink very good, staff exceptionally friendly and helpful, decor superb, toilets excellent. Car park immediately adjacent. This is one of the very best not only in Longton but in the potteries first breakfast coffee or light lunches.

We just went for a coffee and brunch good price for what you’re getting, good breakfast menu for the locals, clean and tidy look.

I visited at lunchtime with my children. Lovely food and great service. A cafe with a very nice atmosphere and they are happy to adjust food items according to your needs. Highly recommended.

Visited this place again after a 3yr gap and the food is just as fabulous and the place is still as nice as the first time, we really love this place and we only wish we lived closer to visit more often... lovely friendly staff and the cakes are to die for... well done to all the staff... hope to visit again soon

Called in this wonderful quainty coffee shop,after visiting the pheonix homefurnings next door by which is fantastic.he reccommended the coffee shop, very modern clean comfortable,and the young girls are so pleasant.food and coffee was quick service and lovely.it was like a little hideaway, but with interest.would deffo visit again.

Tried this place for the first time when out with colleagues for our pay day lunch. Would highly recommend it for the venue, service and choice of food, especially the quiche!

Well created from part of very old factory that I knew guite well from way back.We both had a good old Potteries staple ,oatcakes and cheese!Excellent! It was mid morning, so only a few customers.The two young ladies who served us were very helpful and efficient.A very pleasant half hour, we will almost certainly revist soon.

I have visited the Glost House on a number of occasions and always enjoyed the food even if it is a little on the expensive side especially where it is located.

Myself and other family members booked in for afternoon tea. The service from the girls waiting on was fantastic. Nothing was too much trouble and they were very friendly. The selection of food was delicious. We all enjoyed the afternoon.

Today I popped in to this establishment after passing numerous times. All parking spaces were full even though there was only a handful of people in there. I was with my Daughter and automatically stood at the counter to be served. A very grumpy man asked if we wanted a take out? I told him no we wanted to sit in to which he retorted it was waiter service. I told him we hadn't been before to which he rudely replied it tells you on the bar! I was disguted by his poor customer service and walked out. Had he had told us to take a seat and he would come over to take our order like any decent mannered individual we would have stayed. If he is the owner then he is in the wrong line of business and if he is employed he is costing the owner money.

I absolutely love The Glost House, food is so tasty, the coffee is fab, everything is fresh, lovely homemade cakes, the decor is great, such a comfortable place to sit and enjoy your food and drinks, my 7 year old son loves the cakes, I’ve loved everything I’ve tried, the staff are all friendly, I would highly recommend visiting

I went here with my wife for lunch. My first impressions was Great, very stylish. The menu was ok it didn't have baguettes which was a surprise. The waitress was friendly and after taking our order the food and drinks came very fast. The food was nice and tasty however as soon as i had finshed my meal although my wife was still eating they cleared my plate which i found very inappropriate. The man behind the main counter never spoke to us once and didn't appear friendly or welcoming which was a shame, as he is probably the owner and should welcome everyone.

Arrived at lunch. It was very quiet only a handful of people in. Went to a booth at the back out of the way. (4 of us plus a baby). Sat down took off coats and went to retrieve a high chair to be told only high chairs can be used at two tables. Both were in use. Wouldn’t not let us use it at MANY of the other vacant tables. This was the start!

Walked in for lunch today having been lots of times to be met by the grumpy man behind the counter with... no room ! I looked around and there were three two seaters available I asked if I could move a seat to make 3.... no they are what they are!

Lovely fresh food as usual. staff very courteous as usual. I have never seen any problems or had any problems with any of the staff. So just wondering if the people in earlier reviews where in the Glost house. Over the years since opened we have been here regularly, various days of the week and various times of the day. Even when busy we have got a seat and the same staff have been welcoming and helpful. Thank you to all the staff at the Glost house. Best place in Longton to eat drink and chill out by far

I do not recognise some of the negative reviews on here as I visited for the first time last week and cannot wait to return, the staff were without exception very friendly, the food was excellent as was the atmosphere.

Fantastic oat cakes! Been dying to try these since arriving in Stoke for a break to see a friend. I ordered the cheese and tomato and asked for onions also which they accommodated without question. Absolutely fantastic service and lovely fresh Victoria sponge cake too - lovely young waitress with a fantastic personality A++++ I will definitely be back next time I am in Stoke :) thank you xXx

Fantastic spot for lunch in Longton. The food was great and very quickly served. The fit out is very in touch with the building and a great addition to the area.

Visited this place for the first time with a group of friends. Looks lovely, nice design.

I am totally in favour of supporting local businesses and whilst my friend was over from Hong King I took 5 adults and 4 children to have breakfast at the Glost House! What a mistake that was! I had visited before and found the gentleman working there to be abrupt and miserable. I gave him the benefit of the doubt and took my friends today to find his attitude totally unacceptable. Only 2 tables were occupied in the cafe and obviously the 9 of us wanted to sit together. He would not put 2 tables together and said the booth was only for 6 so we said it would be fine as the children are small. He said no we couldn’t sit there unless the children sat on a separate table. A nice lady who worked there pointed to round the corner where 2 smaller booths were together so the children and 4 adults sat down and the remaining adult moved a chair from one of the dozen empty tables to be told abruptly to put it back. He physically moved the chair before she even had chance to sit down. We asked what he wanted us to do as one of us could not stand up to eat! He said he didn’t know what we could do( very rudely) I said we were fine with the chair there and again he said no. To this we asked if he wanted us to take our business else where to which he very rudely replied ‘if you want to go else where it’s up to you!’ Do we did! His loss of nearly £100’s worth of business! So much for supporting a local business and it’s such a shame as the cafe is beautiful and my friends were excited to eat there. Definitely no return visit for me! I have given one star because I had to otherwise it would be a 0/5!

me and my partner have been coming here now quite regularly and i have just said to my partner that we have never eaten anything bad. in fact everything is perfect and top marks. the staff are very welcoming and friendly the service is very quick and the environment is relaxing and nice. I Highly recommend it and if you have never been you will thoroughly enjoy it.

Been a couple of times now both business and personal visits. Can't fault the coffee and the few things we have eaten each trip have been lovely. It is a really good spot for a business meeting with mixed seating including booths with plugs and USB charging points, always a bonus as well as its own car park. The place is an oasis round here and definitely worth a coffee stop and a bite.

This place is great. I always go for breakfasts and the prices are great and service is fast. The cakes are also delicious. Decor inside is very industrial and well done to the owners for the conversion.

Very nice informal cafe next to Portmerion on King Street - I had Egg in the Hole and the wife had the oatcakes. Great service, friendly staff, tasteful decor and fab food - cafe culture comes to the Potteries.

How can an owner of a cafe be so damm rude... no Thankyou or smile..very bad customer service. The staff are lovely but the manager is vile. What a shame when the food is so nice. We will not come back after his vile manner. He needs be back of house not serving. Carnt move a chair or nothing. When you ring to reserve he just grunts & puts phone down. WHAT A SHAME.

Why have I not seen this place before and I only live about 2 miles away. Lovely, warm, friendly staff. Decor is just perfect. Very clean. Will be visiting more often. Nice choice of food and drink. About time Longton had a decent eatery. Well done

Visited the Glost House at longton Phoenix works for lunch with my husband today. He has been a few times before for business meetings and has always enjoyed the food and drink there.

I have never had the need to complain and do not like to so normally but this is an exception.

I must point out that it wasn't me that visited but it was my partner. She was very upset after visiting The Glost House, purely because of one man and his outrageous attitude.

I visited yesterday for the first time , food was really good ,waitress was polite and friendly, the actual coffee shop was gorgeous, but the chap behind the counter was very infrequent to the point of being quite rude, I’d suggest he attends a customer service course has he has no idea how to speak or interact with people.

Whether you’re looking for somewhere to grab a coffee and cake before catching the train, pick up a takeaway lunch to keep you going in the afternoon or somewhere to have a glass of wine that helps you to unwind after a long week the glost house has it all. The staff, decor, food and drink are lovely. With free WiFi, charging points for you laptop/mobile and lovely coffee its also the perfect place to hold a meeting or catch up on emails.

went for dinner with my mum and auntie, manager spoke to us like we were dirt. totally rude and snappy. acted like he didnt want to be there amd if this was the case he shouldnt be working woth customers. when walkes out refused to eat there he was talking to other members of staff about us, DISGUSTING CUSTOMER SERIVES. other customers commented on his attitude. would not recomend!!!!!

Just a quick visit to this well presented eatery. Oat cakes are a local delicacy and stuffed with cheese and beans what's not to like !!!! Staff are friendly, food arrived promptly as did our drinks. Will visit next time I'm in the area

The food, decor & style are really lovely, very much to our taste...so really disappointed to be greeted(well not actually) by a guy who seemed like he didn't want to be there, no eye contact, a smile nothing. Not even a thank you at any point. Not the right sort of person who should be customer facing.....

Home cooked healthy eats and hearty food. Parking outside. Highly recommended. Big selection of home baked goods.

Having heard of this eatery, we were keen to discover it’s secrets. The building is old but has been refurbished nicely. The menu is adequate, prices reasonable and the portions are generous. The waitress was pleasant and the food didn’t take long to arrive. Between us we had soup, quiche and salad, baked potato with beans and cheese, all very nice. We would certainly return.

Having found this on trip advisor was delighted to try it out. On entering it was a very clean & beautifully presented establishment & we Sat in one of the comfy booths. I'd read the reviews & had jacket potato with a guacamole topping which surpassed my expectation, it was delicious & the cous cous was a great change rather than a bit of salad. Having enjoyed this we had to try a cake... A big wedge of victoria sponge was delivered along with scone, butter, jam & cream... Truly delicious . For a light lunch or just a drink this is well worth a visit & prices are very reasonable, £3.50 for a jacket potato with a choice of topping. The lady & gentleman serving were very pleasant & couldn't be more helpful.

Felt very uncomfortable with the man serving, felt unwelcome, a bit like 'why have you come in here, I've got better things to do than serve people...' Won't be back.

We visited last month as we had seen other people we know visiting there. The Glost House is on King Street Longton, tucked back on the right hand side as you are coming into Longton from Stoke. The food is good snd tasty. We had salad and coffees.friendly atmosphere. The restaurant is on the ground floor and easily access able. There is the Portmerion shop next door. Good off road parking.

Stopped in on the way home for a quick bite to eat and really enjoyed the quesadillas - the cous cous side salad was a big improvement on your usual bit of lettuce and tomato that you often get in this price range.

Great place for breakfast. Beautiful decor, friendly staff and delicious food. Only thing that was a bit tricky was parking but sure this will be easier when works have been completed nearby.

Went for a coffee on Saturday and was served by the rudest man weve ever met, the coffee shop looked lovely and it was our very first visit and can honestly say the very last visit. Asking for a coffee and getting a grunt, asking what filling they did on sandwiches and told he didnt have time and to look at the menu before walking away from our table leaving us speechless. My wife decided not to eat there and we both had a coffee and left, other people around us were flabbergasted and couldnt believe how rude this man was. I believe its a new business and you would do well to get rid of this member of staff and get in polite members instead to increase your sales and make people stay longer in what could be a really nice place to eat, drink and relax... Would not go again EVER!

Stumbled on this lovely cafe while we were visiting the portneirion factory shop in longton. One of the best jacket potatoes we have had with plenty of filling. Was served with a salad which was good, just would have preffered it on the side of plate rather than under the potato.

The staff were so lovely and kind, the food was delicious and came out pretty quick. I had the cheese and onion quiche and my friend had the corned beef pie which were both on the today's specials.

Thank god we have found a decent cafe in Longton.

We have been trying to find a cafe that makes good coffee in Stoke on Trent, which we did but the visit was disappointing due to the grumpy man behind the till (who made the coffee) who didn't greet us or make any attempt to make us feel welcome. Despite the good coffee we won't be back.

Booked the glost house for my mums 80th birthday. The food was much more than we expected. Lots of choice, lovely and fresh. We really were impressed. Ann & Mark the owners have done a real good job. Thanks so much for making our mum's 80th birthday one to remember.

I'd not heard of The Glost House before, but my parents have visited a few times and took me along with them today. What a pleasant surprise! The interior is very well done, with loads of references to pot banks in the artwork on display. I had a jacket potato and my parents both had sandwiches. We all really enjoyed our food, which as well as being tasty, was beautifully presented. I had lemon and ginger cheesecake for my pudding which was hands down the best cheesecake that I have ever eaten. I eat so much cake, to take that crown takes some doing.

They use great ingredients and we've always found that everything tastes good. Today, the sandwich they made, chicken and blue cheese, was delicious.

Visited this restaurant for afternoon tea with a friend and was so impressed another visit with my other half ensued shortly afterwards.

Have visited on 2 occasions and have been very impressed. They make a perfect cappuccino and we had some delicious oatcakes on our last visit.

Popped in for a coffee late on a Saturday afternoon, appeared they were sold out of most cakes and tea cakes etc, but this was down to a busy day and was only an hour before closing. Great place, loved the interior design features, lighting and decor, will be returning again for a breakfast. A great location and very smart surroundings, with a small car park just outside by the entrance, well worth a visit for something different to boring Costa, and most of all to support a local business.

This place truly is an hidden gem. Staff, food and beverages are outstanding. The cafe is situated in an old Potbank building and retains features like the arched ceiling providing a quiet and comfortable environment of that relaxing during and chat.

went here with my daughter, th room was freezing cold!!, the food is over priced what we ordered was awful value, and staff were not at all welcoming, no smile or hello it was not a good experience tried to ask the man a few times about the food he looked misarable, and did not make us feel welcome at all. Drinks were cold and so was the breakfast.
