I just love this quirky wee cafe. I had visited it a few years ago and was delighted to see it's still there. On the day I went the internet was sadly down but I was able to pay by BACS, that might have explained why it was so quiet - people go, the food is great and the ambience very inviting, especially on a sunny day! I had the mackerel with bagels, salad and kimchi, delicious.

We came across this lovely place whilst out on a walk around Instow. I loved the look of it and everything about it - rustic, chilled vibes, amazing seafood menu, lovely location! We came back later in the afternoon for some cocktails whilst enjoying the evening sun. The cocktails were a real disappointment. We chose a cosmo, mai Thai and a raspberry daiquiri. They were all served in the same glass, with ice, and none of them looked the proper way they should, and all tasted sweet and processed. The Mai Thai we couldn't even drink - so I took it back and they were ok with us, and said we could swap it for another cosmo. The lady in the kitchen said they couldn't change them much as they were all pre-mixed and from a bottle - hence why they all tasted similar, very sickly sweet and not authentic! At £8 for each cocktail this was wayy over-priced for the small, pre-processed cocktail we were served. The ice cream and milk our son had was nice - this was freshly made and the best of the drinks. It is a shame, as I had loved this place- everything about the set-up, the menu, the whole vibe was soo cool. Just avoid the cocktails!

A great relaxing lunch was to be had after a walk along the beach. The staff were all so very friendly and the food outstanding. My wife had the Fish Finger Wrap, delicious. I had a Crab Ciabatta, again delicious. We also shared a portion of mussels cooked the proper way in Cider with chopped onions, so very good. The accompanying coffee and obligatory cake was equally as good. All locally sourced food. Definitely worth a visit. We shall make every effort to pay another visit before the end of our short break.

If you bypass this you have missed out on a life experience. This is a little bit of heaven hidden in the dunes. A couple of oysters, served with Tabasco, fresh lemon and shallot red wine vinegar. Followed by local mussels, large plumb and succulent, cooked in a wonderful white wine, shallot, with a little cream and what I think was lemon grass. Best I I have had in many years here and in Europe. This is the kind of place that holidays destinations dream of, and of course local enterprises creating wealth in the community. Just sit back listen to the gentle R&B and soak up the atmosphere.

It did not disappoint! The service was efficient and really friendly, the food was amazing. Obviously wide-ranging seafood choices and great quality kids food too. Also, it’s great value for money. The last commenter mentions ‘£10 for a crab sandwich as expensive’. We live in Bude and that’s what I would expect to pay for a freshly prepared, local crab sandwich with salad (herbs/leaves grown on site) You pay £5 for a plastic wrapped, take out sandwich at Costa or Pret! This is fresh, local crab, We took our own alcohol, however they do have a really varied non alcoholic drinks menu. Sunny weather helps, as outside seating but definitely a place you can sit, chat and lose track of time. We’ll definitely return!

We've had the fishcakes, salmon gravalax (our favourite), mussels (scrummy), mackerel fillets and the kids fish finger sandwich (which our little one devoured, and was incredibly tasty). The food is exceptional. Yes you are eating on picnic benches and they only serve soft/hot drinks, but you can bring our own alcohol and they have plastic wine goblets. The cakes are also very very good. As a note for those with kids - there are toys and books to play with, as well as the sand that is all around. I wouldn't come back to Instow and not go here.

A great fish menu, wish I had had the opportunity to try a few more dishes. It also caters for many different dietary needs(e.g. gluten and dairy intolerances).

Absolutely delicious food and well clued up on allergies. The young man who greeted us went n double checked with the chef that my dairy n gluten free allergies could be catered for. Lots of choice for a change. Delicious hot food with a lovely out door seating area.

Absolutely the best fish & chips I’ve ever had! Fish & chips used to be a “once in a while” thing for us, but since moving here & treating ourselves on the night we moved in, we’ve treated ourselves every week for the past 6 weeks! They aren’t greasy like some. Perfect portion size too. Everything is just spot on perfect. Thank you Taffs x

Food mostly good though we have had a couple of poor meals here , we no longer use this takeaway as there prices have gone up to much !

Provided lovely food and the staff were friendly and efficient. There is plenty of parking as it is in an old railway siding.
