Absolutely beautiful fish n chips. Best in the land. Very friendly and helpful service. Very tasty, well priced. So highly recommended. I'd drive for days for fish and chips of this quality. One of a kind.

Had a bit of a wait BUT that's because it's cooked to order, not sitting around being kept warm. It was busy (a good sign) and the staff were working flat out. We really enjoyed our fish and chips. The portion size (imo) was perfect and very reasonably priced. All in all, very happy. Thank you Seahorse fish and chips

Not sure if they were having an off day or perhaps we ordered the wrong thing (the special deal) but the fish was so over cooked it was tough as old boots and my husband ended up with literally eight chips in his box. surprisingly poor.

We live in Northam.I waited half an hour for two portions of chips and 1 portion Very small cod..Were not told there would be a long wait.I only popped out for a bag of chips.There were only 4 people in front of me...The chips were very good though .wont be going back .so much quicker to drive into barnstaple where it is sooo much quicker.

Popped in for a take away chippy tea. Not been here for several years.. now I ask myself why not.. Best chips and battered burger I have had in years.. proper meshy peas and they do all the old favourites like battered burger and potato scallops. Now I have found his hidden treasure will definitely be going back..cleared plates all in this house..

Ordered cod, chips and peas yesterday for evening collection. Food was excellent, lovely fish with crisp, light batter lovely chips and good peas. Very happy with the portion size and well priced. Staff were really friendly and covid safe. Looking forward to our next delicious meal!

Stopped here to pick up a family supper before starting a holiday in Westward Ho! The food is great quality and the portions very generous.

Over priced for what you get. Considering it's a coastal area it was the smallest fish you can imagine. Very slow service and not very well organised on a Friday night which would be their busiest evening of the week. Needs younger staff who are on the ball and need to improve portion sizes. Food tasted great though but shame we all felt hungry afterwards.

What a great find on our holiday in Northam. My niece is dairy intolerant and some ready batter mixes have milk products in - some chippies can't tell her if theirs do. But this little shop actually has all allergens listed for customers to check, and the owner also makes her own fish cakes and can guarantee the ingredients. Good choice of food, good value for money, and everything was cooked well and tasted delicious - wish we lived nearer!

Do you know that smell you get if some oil burns at the bottom of your oven? Well that is what the fish tasted of. Really not impressed, next time we will drive to westward ho!

We have often used Northam Fish Bar it is not the quickest service but everything is freshly cooked as you order so that makes up for the wait.

Whilst staying in cottage tried the fish takeaway. Tasty very fresh fish and plentiful chips served in a cardboard box.

Best ive had in recent years tried haddock for a change and the fish was cooked to perfection being soft and tasty not over cooked

Good food. Service was very slow with only five people ahead of us and four staff working but everything tasted good, if not outstanding.

Started visiting here on a weekly basis several months back, the two ladies which serve you are so helpful and friendly. You always feel very welcome! Food is cooked to order so a little wait is required but the food is always very good.

Sólo ir aquí cuando pereza ir a Appledore. Habitualmente es pobre. No creo que puedan ser freír a la temperatura adecuada el pescado es siempre inundada con aceite, la pasta es repugnante, pasada y lleno de aceite. Yo vivo a 5 minutos de allí y por el tiempo que llegué a casa el papel de embalaje estaba empapada en aceite que cubre todo lo demás en la bolsa. Lo siento, no cómo la basura como bazofia hasta puede que y esperamos que pague por ello. Ir a Appledore o Westward Ho! Merece la pena.

Vinimos aquí una noche durante nuestras vacaciones y tenía buen pescado y patatas fritas. Parte del niño era extremadamente generoso. El pescado era inestable y la luz, las patatas fritas estaban calientes y crujientes. En conjunto sabroso.

Es necesario esperar un poco como su pescado recién hecha para ti, pero una auténtica bienvenida le espera aquí. Están realmente tratando de complacer y están alcanzando con platos de primera calidad, a un precio razonable. Una tarea difícil cuando hay varios chippys en la zona.

A menudo han conducido pasado esta tienda de peces en la esperanza de poner un espacio de estacionamiento, aunque en líneas de doble amarilla - un coche fue sacando como me acerqué así que me fui hacia el espacio. Señora agradable y simpático que me atendió, instalaciones limpias. Pedí el bacalao, patatas fritas y salsa de curry. Esperé unos 10 minutos. Siento decir que me decepcionó una vez llegué a casa y empezó a saborear mi cena. Las patatas fritas eran bastante pasada y muy grasosa y el bacalao más pasta en que había pescado!!

While on holiday in Westward Ho in September we came across Northam Fish Bar it is very clean the staff are very polite and helpful, But the Fish & Chips are fantastic we like it when we have to wait for it to be cooked . Without a doubt the Best Cod we have had for years we only went a couple of times but when we are down that way again on holiday we would go several miles out of our way to have them again.

A traditional fish and chip shop worth finding and sampling. A must visit when we are in the area. Excellant service and great fish and chips.

Chips are ok but fish is awful ! staff bit over the top and very loud ,parking is awful overall would never go back !

Myself and my boyfriend had fish and chips from here yesterday evening and loved it! Wasn't too busy as only locals know where it is. Very good potion sizes for the price we paid. Bit of a nightmare to park outside but the food is defiantly worth it!

Its a traditional Fish and CHip Shop and in the back street of Northam but far better for your money than the sea front shops. The food is the same quality but are half of the costs.

. The food is brilliant, and the staff there are THE BEST staff of any place I have ever come across. So go there asap and get full with their yum yums.

Really tasty chips! The fishcake is homemade and is the best ive ever had! Really friendly staff. Great service. Excellent value for money! :-) One of the best around!!!

Cod and chips - ample portion not mountains of chips that you have to throw away! Crisp batter - nothing soggy here. Have also tried the home made fish cakes which are really very tasty. Well worth a visit.

Great service, my daughter goes to collect and always made to feel special. A must try are the home made fish cakes. We are regulars, maybe a bit too regular at times service with a smile every time

I have been to this shop twice now, the fish is always good with nice batter and chips are not greasy. staff are also very welcoming. The kids both had child's meals which are good value to.

This fish & chip shop has changed owners since I last visited a couple of years ago. It looks much cleaner, updated and the staff are very friendly. The fish and chips were disappointing though. The chips were quite nice but the fish was dry and chewy so we left most of it.
