This chef can cook! Restaurant can be very warm if the sun is shine and can be blinding if you sit in the wrong position. I tried the chicken terrine was was ok but not the best. The steak and haggis pie is to die for as are the chef’s soups of the day. Breakfast in the main was fine however bacon too salty and had better potato scones but the best poached eggs ever. The food in this restaurant is the highlight of the hotel and would recommend eating there if your staying or passing.

My friends and I ate here as part of a two night stay. The staff are fabulous and the food was lovely. The only draw back is that as the name tells you it is a glasshouse and in the recent weather it was like eating in an oven! I don’t know how the staff cope with it. Lovely decor and large dining room but We did feel a bit squashed as they fitted 7 of us in. Worth a visit.

The menu could be a little more imaginative but the cooking and quality if ingredients is really good. The room is cold and cold looking- better lighting and candles would help- some heaters too!

Checked prior to booking to ensure that they could cater for gluten free to which we were assured that this was no problem. My daughter had booked the afternoon tea as a birthday treat for me. The difference between the non glutten free and mine was imense. The 3 tier stand for mine contained:- top tier 1 meringue, 2 tiny macarons and two minute meringues. Middle tear, sandwiches which were good. 3rd tear, half a slice of gluten free bread which was about an inch wide with cream and jam, it looked absolutely ridiculous! My daughter had a choice of sandwiches, cakes, sausauge rolls, scones which in comparison to mine was obvioulsy better prepared. My advice to Airth Castle and Spa is: be truthfull to your customers - you are only willing to put in the absolute minimum for gluten free or coeliac's. The only change you had to make to ensure it was the same as others was to use a different flour for your scones etc and you can buy pastry already made if you cannot be bothered. Found better cakes in a supermarket but you still felt no shame in taking the exact same price as others. So stop pretending you are catering for gluten free or buck up your ideas and buy in some gluten free crisps, some gluten free flour and batch bake and freeze if you are advertising gluten free afternoon tea.

This is my second visit (and review) of this restaurant. The first time was an evening meal with my wife, this time was a Sunday lunchtime visit with friends. Between the four of us we had 2 roast beef traditional roasts and 2 turkey traditional roasts, 3 Lemon and rhubarb cheecakes and 1 black forest gateau. The staff were pleasant and attentive but not overbearing, although we did get the impression one on the waitresses was probably still learning (but everyone has to start somewhere). The food arrived in a timely manner, was well presented and cooked. The only disappointment was the 'chocolate soil' which came with the cheesecake, that appeared to be a crumbed biscuit with a few flecks of brown. The cheesecake was ordered specifically because of the curiosity about the chocolate soil. Had it not been for that I'd have given this review a 5-stars rating. We stayed at the table for over an hour after eating the meal just talking and there was no indication that we had outstayed our welcome as happens at some restaurants, although it wasn't very busy and I appreciate that may not have been possible had they have been busy. All four of us would go back again.

restaurant has had a makeover . a very odd makeover in my opinion . stylist should be shot. same with menu with some odd things on it , having said that my partner had an amazing steak . i had pigs cheek which is something i will never have again . it came with boiled overcook veg and a brick hard fondant potato. i had biscuits and cheese and they were not that amazing . think menu style over substance .

Have an odd booking system that doesn't allow you to dine at your requested time even though they are not fully booked.Menu selection was okay, expensive but a fair selection. Staff were friendly, service was good, food quality was average. Need to up their game to justify the cost, I have eaten much better for less and in nice surroundings too.

Familiar food presented in a quirky nouvelle cuisine style. Nicely cooked and beautifully presented you will need to have the full 3 courses to feel truly full. Portions are not huge, but the taste experience is very nice. These are not cheap eats, but it is pleasant.

We had booked for a fairly large party of 21 and although there can be issues for some places catering for groups, it is a large party/conference hotel/restaurant who should be able to cope with running an event and running their large restaurant. Our waitress Elise was brilliant; however, there was another young lad who was quite abrupt and rude. One of our party were given a burger with mould on the bun (they took it away, removed the mouldy section and returned the bun to her). Two of our party had to wait 1/2 hour after everyone else had been served for their well done steaks, while others who had medium rare got them on time. Also one course was described as chicken with bacon and broccoli; however, it turned up with just chicken and spinach (not what they ordered). Obviously we complained and were given a generous discount; however, the general opinion we got of this establishment is that it is billed as quite plush, but certainly doesn't live up to expectations. Please also see my review on the Airth Castle Hotel.

Lovely restaurant with great, helpful and smiley staff, good food choices and reasonable prices. Tables are quite close together so you wouldn't want to have a private conversation when it's busy, plus the ultra high roof makes it feel quite 'warehousey' but it's well worth a visit. The staff are the highlight though, nothing is too much trouble for them.

food is not good- but you are limited in that area where to go- there is a Brewers Fayre just a few 100 meters up the road towards the motor way, I would chance that!

We were staying at airth castle on a dinner inclusive basis and had £25pp each night to spend. Both nights, the meal was delicious, as was breakfast. For dinner there was a choice of a 3 course menu for £25, or the a la carte menu. We opted for the a la carte both nights. On our 2nd night we had chateaubriand - AMAZING!!Service was fantastic by both the waiting and bar staff. We would return here for a meal again.

You get a set 3 course menu for £25, and you get the main menu, you cannot mix both menus. Food was good, service sometimes a bit slow.

Food selection good and compliments to the chef as the meal was best thing about our visit to airtime castle. Scallops and steak, lovely. Staff could do better in offering wine/drinks. We had to ask for water, wine list after our food order was taken.

This picture is of the glass house in St Andrews and NOT Airth Castle Stirling as the title says ...when you click onto this website icon it takes you to St Andrews Glass House and not a restaurant in Stirling! I have visited the Glass House in St Andrews and it was excellent value and service for an early evening menu.

We booked for sunday lunch recently. You dont really need to book as you can mainly just walk in and get a table except at the busiest times but we had one of their cards that gives 10% off if you book so we did! The carvery was our choice and I have to say it was a really lovely meal. Choice of steak pie, vegetable pie, roast beef, roast ham or chicken breast with ample supplies of roast and boiled potatoes, cauliflower cheese and a host of other veg all helped down by a tasty gravy ( with a veggie option) and a couple of tasty yorkshire puddings. Well satisfied, we were glad we hadnt had a starter although we had been tempted! The staff were so friendly and helpful and couldnt do enough for you. The surroundings have been refurbished and are pleasant and comfortable and the tables are far enough apart that you are not in everyone elses conversation. This was our first visit to Harveys but it wont be the last. Good honest tasty food, great service and very resonable prices. You should try it, they deserve to succeed in business.

Waiting for meals for over 30 minutes. Other tables served. Meal obviously warmed up, hot outside, cold inside. Returned meal, refund issued, did not require any replacement meal. Soft drinks ordered and arrived just before we left. Issues with time waiting on bill

Rude, disinterested female at front of house when we eventually tracked her down yapping in the kitchen. Rude and dismissive taking our booking and even worse in person, September 29th 2024. We got up and left after the drinks order to give her another chance, which she failed with flying colours.
