The Giddy Bridge in Southampton

Ordered two cocktail glasses, they came 25 minutes later, and one of the cocktails came in a pitcher size and without a glass to drink from. Servers wouldn't clear tables the entire time. Garlic bread was nice 👍

Meal and drinks were good, staff lovely. It’s a pity other patrons didn’t adhere to the non smoking signs on tables on the terrace, which wasn’t pleasant whilst eating. Unfortunately they weren’t confronted by staff 😒

Waited about 30 mins for a glass of Pimm’s which was ridiculous. When it eventually arrived the waiter asked for my id. I said I didn’t have it and asked if he would take a photo of my passport to which he responded “well I can get you a picture of the drink”. Absolutely rude. I went to speak to that manager to which he clearly didn’t care. Just said they were busy and when I asked for a refund he said no. When I got back to the table the same waiter was there. I said I didn’t appreciate the way he spoke to me and he went on a waffle about how he’s had shitty customers and that it’s been a long day. ABSOLUTE JOKE. would not recommend coming here

Great place to grab a nice breakfast while waiting for the train home

Dull and unfriendly Came back a year later nothing has changed, except they had nothing available on the menu. Everything we asked for was not available. Terrible really.

Food was good. Did however take 40 minutes to receive drinks when ordered through the app. Staff blamed poor staffing levels.

Online ordering system and card terminals were no functional and this is not posted anywhere other then the bar, otherwise just a regular Wetherspoons

Great location for breakfast for a fair price. On a match day it fills up early with fans, nice to get some atmosphere. Breakfast was fine and filling. You can get unlimited coffee with your mug from the machine. We liked it so much that we came here again for breakfast.

Decent spoons if you go before 8pm, sometimes they have small man syndrome door men but other than that it's decent.

Having travelled over from Ireland and use to paying £6 euros a pint was shocked how cheap the beverages are also had a lovely atmosphere for a weekday evening 😊🌿🇮🇪

Situated on a main road shopping area into Southampton with convenient parking fairly close to the Port area used by cruise ships. Unfortunately not the best Weatherspoons I've encountered and was cold most people kept there jackets on, service wasn't the quickest possibly due to being short staffed.

Another Wetherspoons I've previously been to, however didn't review. A decent sized pub, including an upstairs seating area and roof terrace, situated on the northern side of Southampton City Centre, just across the road from the north side of East Park. This pub is the nearest Wetherspoons to Southampton Central Train Station. It was not overly busy when I visited, and was easily able to find a table. However, I've been to Southampton before when the Football is on, and this pub can get very busy at those times. Ordered a Sticky Korean Chicken Bowl, chips and a pint of Leffe Blonde. Total was £10.02 On this occasion I ordered at the bar (the app doesn't take cash). A small wait until I was served. Food arrived in about 10 minutes of ordering. A good sized portion was given, and food was of good quality and presentation. Definitely worth a visit, if you are around the area.

La peor comida de pub que hemos comido, el día después de que ambos tuvimos malestar estomacal. La hamburguesa se quemó y el pollo parecía como si acabase de estallar en el microondas - se suponía que era carbón a la parrilla! Qué horror. El cocinero debería avergonzarse de servirnos basura a la gente.

Creo que he estado aquí más de cinco veces hasta ahora, y nunca me decepciona. Es literalmente lo que espero de una Wetherspoon: bebidas baratas y comida barata. Obviamente, cuando pago £ 10 por filete con papas fritas y una pinta de cerveza, no espero gran calidad, así que no me decepciona. Aparte de sus filetes, probé sus currys y sus llamadas "hamburguesas gourmet", que eran solo una hamburguesa de pollo con salsa barbacoa de Jack Daniel. Pero al final del día, obtienes lo que pagaste, y creo que Wetherspoons Giddy Bridge hace ese trabajo increíblemente bien. I don't expect much from a Wetherspoons given the general good value of food and drinks they tend to provide. On this occasion though a few of us stood at the bar for 10-15 minutes without even being acknowledged. There were several staff working, but only one seemed to be serving drinks at the bar and only to those stood directly in front of the till they were using. Ended up leaving without ordering. Ironic thing was we stopped in another Wetherspoons elsewhere in town on the same night where the service was good.

It was quiet being that it was breakfast time. Only saw two staff, And many tables were full of plates. But understandable if understaffed. The food came promptly and was very nice

Honestamente, nunca conocí personal como él, todos en sus teléfonos en la esquina escondidos esperaron 20 minutos para recibir los servicios, estúpidas tonterías de cola, luego Barril se fue a mis bebidas ... sin explicación de por qué me quedé esperando durante otros 5 minutos ... derramó la mitad de mi pinta mientras lo puso en la barra y se preguntó por qué le di una mirada extraña ... . un servicio horrible ... descuidado.

Best Wetherspoons in Southampton. A bit more spacious than the others. Good value for money.

Great friendly bar staff & door staff plus managers are all very friendly & helpful but think the ladies loos let it down 👇 it's often dirty with paper on floor or wet through everywhere plus a cpl doors don't lock very well & hand dryers blow out cold plus lots of the high chairs near windows are loose & wobble. This is a regular pub myself & partner use x

Foods up to wetherspoons standards, Good, although there was a hair in my cousins panini, but that happens a lot more than you'd think even in a 5-star hygiene rating place. Service was okay, nothing special, they delivered the food quickly and hot even though it was in the peak hours of getting food, although the app was broken at that time so it we had to order at the bar. The atmosphere was chaotic and was too open, lotta noise.

Good prices and selection of drinks and food but slow table service and a decent evening spoiled by an obnoxious off-duty member of staff.

You just can't go wrong with a wetherspoons breakfast, ordered on the app and it was delivered quickly. Obviously it's not a 5 star restaurant but for what you pay it's a cracking breakfast

The reason I rate this so low is that the food my friend and I ordered looked like child's meals. They treated very unappetising. My friend had a very small burger and I had a piece of plain chicken. It was Luke warm and rubbery. The food was literally plonked on the table with dirty cutlery by a member of staff who didn't know how to smile or engage. I appreciate it was a busy Friday night but customer service and food quality shouldn't waver. Whilst I can't prove this but after eating here I had to be in hospital with food poisoning. Not a good experience.

Roof top terrace, great service and the food is actually on point. I had the ramen which was quite surprisingly good. A good spoons this one. Went back for breakfast which was spot on.

After getting off our cruise ship early morning and going back to our parked cars in a taxi we was near this Wetherspoons pub so opted for breakfast before our long drive home to Sheffield. As usual it was great value as we ordered off the app, I had the large breakfast at £6.59 which included 2 fried eggs, 2 sausages, bacon, beans, mushrooms, 3 hash browns and 2 slices of toast. Great value washed down with a cup of tea.

Quick service and lovely beer garden. I didn't eat but have returned several times for drinks and will continue to do so when I visit Southampton.

A few months ago, I caught someone going through my stuff. Rather than them kick the thief out, they told me to leave. A few days ago, people cut in front of others and, again, the management prioritised them over the decent customers. Here’s an idea. If you don’t operate a queue system, then don’t be so slow and let queues form. And then let people jump said line. Absolutely terrible establishment. The staff happily let horrid people say and do what they like, then ban those that complain and stand up to such people rather than them. All the while indulging fat, blotchy-faced bullies to play excessive vigilante. I hope they all get what’s coming to them and the place gets shut down.

Only aspect that lets this place down, as is the case in a few Wetherspoons pubs, is the poor statevof the Gents toilets, in partuclar the WC cubicles and WCs themselves. As this does not directly impinge on the 3 categories for Star Rating assessment the 5star rating has been retained by me. However other reviewers may well feel different and downgrade as they see fit.

Love the giddy, it needs some TLC inside and a refurb but is a great place to meet friends and obviously the bar prices are very cheap compared to every other non Wetherspoons pub

Scammed my money. Accidentally ordered 2 portion and asked if I can cancel 1 and get a refund. They told me yes, and even said that they’ve already started the refund process. But to this day, a month later, I’m still waiting for this refund. Been in contact with customer service who says they’ve been trying to contact this specific Wetherspoon to no response !

I accidentally ordered two Chicken Tikka Masalas and asked the staff if I could get a refund. They agreed, and when I checked at the end of our meal, they confirmed it had been processed and would show up in my bank account in a few days. However, the refund never appeared. I contacted their customer service, but after three weeks, the issue still hasn't been resolved. Additionally, during our visit, a creepy guy approached and harassed our female friend inside the restaurant. My suggestion is to better monitor who enters the restaurant to ensure a safer atmosphere for us!
