Heard this place was the place to have a great Christmas lunch, and it wasn't wrong. Seriously 10/10. Everything was cooked to perfection and loved the relaxed service too. The manager Kevin was brilliant., loved his sence of humour towards all his customers and you can tell he sets a high standard and looks after all his staff too. Highly recommend this lovely cafe / bistro.

A friend and I stopped in while on our UK trip. We found this place about 10 minutes before closing, so we could only get it to go. As soon as we got back to our hotel, we dug in, and oh my wow... SO good! Anything chocolate is a good bet. Probably other items, as well. Will definitely return on our next trip!

Our train was delayed so we walked around the shopping centre and at first only saw usual outlets. We went in to the Georgian Pattiserie as it was different and were glad we did. Service was great and staff were very helpful to one of our party who was gluten intolerant. Food portions were of a good size and food was tasty Recommend this if your ever stuck in Doncaster station .

i have visited here on a number of occasions and whilst the food is nice i do get a little bit bored of the same things on the menu all the time and they only have one special that is always the same. It would be nice if as well as the normal menu there were a couple of seasonal specials that changed weekly or at least monthly

The premises is more like a cafe than a Patisserie . The staff are very welcoming and are very efficient. We decided to have the afternoon tea that was advertised . I would not class it the same as an afternoon tea as it did not come on a cake stand which would have been nice, and the sandwich all four quarters had the same filling ,but it was a sandwich of your choice .The bread was fresh and there was plenty of filling but could have been better presented as there was no garnish just the sandwich on a plate. We had a fresh scone of our choice there were several choices of scone . I chose the cherry scone which was the nicest scone I have ever had . It came with a small jar of jam there were several flavours to chose from and a small dish of cream . You had a choice of a fresh individual cake or a slice of cake or cheesecake . I chose the lemon & Lime cheesecake . To accompany our afternoon tea we had a lovely latte coffee. As we were full the staff kindly boxed our cheesecake up for us to take away . The cheesecake was a generous size and was really nice and full of flavour . This patisserie is definitely worth a visit .

So go on then, how many times have you walked past the Georgian Patisserie? You know the one, just about opposite the Pandora shop. Well my advice is don't walk past again. Stop...go in... you'll not regret it!! Each and every time I have been in it has been a pleasure. Whether it's the stew, a cake or just a coffee, everything is truly first class. Oh and if you only ever eat one more piece of cake in your whole life have a slice of the Limoncello drizzle roulade, it is fantastic. And one more thing the staff are all very nice and friendly too. The place is a winner.

On a journey from Essex to Scotland we turned off the A1 into Doncaster for a change of scene and lunch. Wandering through the Frenchgate centre we came across a cafe advertising Homemade Beef Stew with Yorkshire Pudding. The stew consisted of large chunks of tender beef with a large selection of vegetables in a rich gravy. The Yorkshire pudding was huge and filled with stew. The creamed potato was served in its skin and smothered with more stew. We were so full, we had no room to try the cakes, which looked delicious. If I have a complaint it is that the Yorkshire pudding was not crispy as I like them. But it was 3pm so perhaps it's our fault for coming late!

So disappointed as went yesterday for a coffee and a scone with my husband. I am gluten free and was so excited to find a coffee shop that made homemade scones that I could eat. My scone was half the size of my husbands and more expensive. Oh well I thought, but when I ate it realised that it had no sugar in either. I find being gluten free hard enough, as food is often bland and there are so many things that I can’t have, but I can have sugar! I went to ask the girl on the counter to explain and she said yes made also for diabetics. Why do this, I need my calories as I can’t eat so many things. Please understand I can’t eat wheat flour, that is all!!

Very late review but I have only just discovered TGP's presence on Tripadvisor. I popped into this quaint eatery to purchase some cakes for the family. 2 scones and a slice of caramel apple pie. Under £10 &, whilst expensive for a cafe, they were extremely good quality and went down very well. Doncaster's very own equivalent of Patisserie Valerie.

It was clean and tidy which is what I look for when am eating out. The staff at the counter are very nice and as I have to get about on crutches I usually find out how nice. My tray was brought to my table by a young man ( younger than me anyway ) and he checked to see if there was anything else I needed.Sadly I did'nt get his name but he had blondish hair ( could be dyed ). Did'nt make use of the toilet so cannot comment on that. Thank you for your service and most certainly the food.

We searched for somewhere to have a snack this lunchtime and are so pleased to have found this place inside The Frenchgate Shopping Centre in Doncaster. Two excellent coffees accompanied a cheese, tomato and pesto panini each. When these came they were not as we would usually expect being made with a Spanish folded bread - whose name escapes me. Rich, tasty and pleasantly served with homemade coleslaw and a crisp mixed salad too. How nice to have the manager come and ask us if the food was ok, tell us about the interesting Spanish bread together with a chat about the homemade food in general. Could not have been better service!

For a coffee house situated in a busy shopping mall, this place is a delight. Quite different from the usual Costa etc, this is somewhere to feel that you can relax and enjoy really good refreshments. Beautiful chandelier light fittings add a little extra bit of quality to the atmosphere. Excellent brand of coffee and tea is used here ( Taylors ) and there are some very delicious cakes and pastries to choose from. Friendly staff complete the all round positive feel to the place. We popped in the Georgian pattiserrie on a whine and where so glad we did. The staff where lovely and friendly, it was very clean had a good menu and the service was excellent. My husband had the homemade Carrot and Coriander soup with bread and I had the Jacket potato with tuna mayo. Both dishes where huge and beautifully presented defiantly homemade at its best. We also had a pot of tea and cappuccino both where served in beautifully pots and large cups with plenty of milk. My wife asked for extra butter and water and the request was meet without any fuss as often experienced in so many places in the UK. As we had travelled from Perth Western Australia it was a pleasure to visit and eat in a place where you where made to feel really welcome and comfatable. I am shocked that I am having to write a negative review as I usually only ever write something if I have a positive comment to make. My mother and I chose to have tea here today rather than the chain coffee shops available in the mall. At first all seemed fine, the staff were pleasant and the food and drinks presented well. We had tea, a custard and a cookie for me. My mum at 82 is usually lively and chatty but she seemed very quiet. When I asked her what was wrong she said the custard was not good as the pastry was wet. I told her she should not have continued eating it when she didn't like it, but she did not want to complain. She left the pastry and had eaten the custard. She decided to tell the waiter. She came back to the table quite upset as she had received no apology and was apparently told pastry is always wet when there is custard etc on it! A shame the young man who said it has clearly no experience of baking! As we were leaving she again decided she wanted to say the food was unsatisfactory. I was waiting for her just outside and heard my mum becoming very upset. The three staff were all being argumentative with her and the youngest was totally rude. He laughed at her and asked what was he supposed to do! I have never seen such ignorance and rudeness to a very elderly lady. I can not recommend this place now at all. I am sure most of their food is lovely but they should be able to take some small criticism if occasionally there is a problem. This was no way to deal with a perfectly acceptable complaint. All three members of staff should be ashamed of themselves.

loved my visit to the Georgian Patisserie today. quality of the food was second to none, the bread was delicious as was the homemade coleslaw and the veg crisps. The first thing I noticed when passing here whilst shopping was their vast collection of desserts that there always adding to as well (very creative ingredients and designs) There cheese scones are the best I've had, usually I cant finish a cheese scone whilst having coffee because there both filling & rich but the scones aren't heavy on the stomach, neither are there cheesecakes (which by the way they give out generous portions off). I must try there egg custard tart next time i am there. The place has such a nice atmosphere and is very well decorated and reasonably priced. Service is great also. defiantly a place I think to go to when off shopping in Doncaster.

We had been here once before under a previous management, when we thought the food was A. a bit pricey and B. a bit pretentious. Yesterday's experience was very different. The outside area when we walked up from the car park needed a bit of a clean, especial as the compound for litter is in full view and was full to the top of cartons and other rubbish. It wasn't a good first impression but we forgot all about it when greeted by a lovely member of staff, (Maisie?) who was very welcoming. Our table was in one of the small dining areas off the main bar area. We had a little wander around after we had eaten and the whole downstairs is very nicely decorated, clean and comfortable. Every member of staff we met was friendly, helpful and able to deal with our requests. We ordered two starters and mentioned that the third member of our party might be allowed to share. As a result, the waitress brought a third plate. The starters - fish cakes and ham terrine - were very nice indeed, although, in retrospect, I should have just had a main course, as the portions were quite generous. All three of us had the Barnsley Chops for a main and they did not disappoint. However, they were served in a shallow bowl and I would have preferred a proper dinner plate. It made cutting the meat from the bone quite difficult. We also had a side order of cauliflower cheese and it was enough for all three of us to share. Everything was very nicely cooked and presented. Dessert was the hazelnut cheesecake, which was pleasant, if a little bland. Very good coffee the end the meal. All in all, a very nice experience and I would recommend 1903 for a special lunch out.
