Really really good Sunday roast! I love the interior, and the little green room upstairs is a perfect place for a long Sunday lunch. Super friendly service also. The beef could have been more tender and the potatoes have more salt, but the meat was perfectly cooked and all the trimmings were super flavourful, especially the red cabbage. Next level Bloody Mary, and the Welsh rarebit croquettes were amazing. Prices are quite steep, but for the quality and the location, it’s reasonable

A pub in which you simply feel good Definitely my favorite pub that I visited during a trip to London. Beautiful interior is really cosy and relaxing, music is not too loud, so you can easily talk. Wide selection of very good beer, I really enjoyed hazy (don't remember the exact name). Scotch egg, which I had for the first time, was well prepared.

Thank you to The George, London, where the Sunday roast was truly an absolute hit. Offered here are chicken, beef, lamb and vegetarian (in the form of a mushroom and celeriac pithivier). Roast potatoes are simply delectable - fluffy innards and crisp seasoned outers. I find a roast potato often sets the standard for the rest of the plate. Wine selection and service were very good: we weren’t hurried off our table but were gently nudged shortly before the next booking. Points for improvement? The cauliflower cheese, which was lacking in cheese, and the mushroom sauce for the veggie roast could be more plentiful and spreadable.

Oh dear, noisy, smelly and totally unorganised! Not sure where to begin, booked a table for 5 but when we arrived only table for 4 was reserved. Had to wait for 30min till another was found. The meal did not arrive for a party of 5 together, one of us had to wait another 10min for his to arrive. All may be forgiven, but inedible roast beef on a Sunday in an English pub is unacceptable. Very nice pub with amazing staff. We came to stop there around 2 p.m. for a drink. The pub was relatively empty but not surprising for a Friday after the lunch rush. We ordered a Guinness and an elderberry syrup which the waiter graciously offered me. The service is fast and all the staff are really friendly without it sounding fake. The decoration is very beautiful and you feel comfortable very quickly. The music is not too loud and there are even sockets available. The food looked good but we weren't hungry. We saw the fish and chips pass by which looked huge, and everything looked homemade. The drinks were good, and the prices perhaps a little high, but the place is a little more formal than the neighborhood bar. Allow £7 for a Guinness. Hygiene is impeccable and the bartender even grabs the straw with his tweezers to avoid touching it. In summary? A very beautiful pub, ideal for relaxing and hydrating before continuing the visits. The kitchen seems to be very good. I would have happily returned if I lived nearby.

A pub that hides a real restaurant on its upper floor. The menu offers typical English dishes, we chose the "The George cheeseburger" and the beer-battered fried fish and chips, the latter really good. The cheeseburger, however, was without praise as well as really too expensive compared to the quality and workmanship offered. Kind service. I live in London so I'm not a tourist, came across this pub on my Insta feed. The service was very good and staff were super friendly (given is central London). Food wise is "not bad" for central London but I definitely had better roast. We ordered a sharing roast (£34 each) where I had give them an immediate feedback as the chicken was try and super small (pls see photo), also the couple next to us ordered the chicken roast (it was around £36 from memory) and their proportion is around 4 times bigger and looks juicy. The staff were said because we ordered a sharing platter our chicken portion is smaller (which I agreed), but I said is not just the portion, but how dry it is. TBH, it felt like someone had forgotten the chicken was in the oven and it was over cooked. It is so dry I saved for my dog to eat it back home. The staff were very accommodating and gave us two smaller pieces of extra chicken which was moist and tender like the couple next to us.
