EL&N London - Market Place in City of London, Westminster

It is a nice cafe to take your family or friends to have a nice drinks or sweet cake after walking around Oxford Circus. The food is better compared to the other Elan cafes in London.

The food is delicious, the service is friendly, and the overall pink color makes me feel so happy sitting inside.

All cakes tasted delicious, especially the chocolate cake and hot chocolate. Great service, staff were lovely.

Food & drinks were ok, but just not worth the price. You can get it better and cheaper in many other corners of London. Waiting time for drinks was extremely long (and there were only 3 tables occupied).

A very terrible experience. The food was alright, but overpriced for the quality you get. However the service was appalling. A waiter sat us in a very cramped corner despite us saying there were three of us. Food took about 20-25 minutes to arrive and the app is not the best to order on as it doesn’t allow verification of numbers. It took us at least ten minutes for someone to take our order. We were later served by a waiter (Shahid), they were the only waiter who was attentive and their service was really good. Would not recommend coming here👎

place was very nice, looked very clean and aesthetically pleasing. Only went in for a coffee which again was very nice but didn’t try the food however it looked nice from the menu. Unfortunately the experience was ruined by the service and attitude of the floor staff, one in particular (jessica). My daughter accidentally touched one of the pastries on display, jessica then came up to us with a very unwelcoming and hostile tone. From then point on she went on to gossip to the rest of the staff about my daughter touching the food and giving us very rude looks. This is a shame as the place itself was lovely but the attitude of this staff member left a bad taste in our mouth.

Cakes were amazing. We were celebrating our friend's birthday and Shahid served us so well. He was so friendly and we were happy.

I went with my friends, without booking, it's a delicious cake and The service from Mr Shahid was tremendous. He is humble and we all are truly satisfied with his hospitality.

First of all, we waited outside for almost 30 minutes in the cold and they didn’t even paid attention to the order of people who were waiting outside, they allowed two groups of people (who arrived later than us) to enter. The manager who was extremely upset wasn’t even polite or helpful. When trying to explain her what happened she replied really eagerly and made us wait 15 more minutes (when tables were available inside). After all this time, she placed us at a table nearby the door, when it was extremely cold outside and the door was always open. The same lady (who seemed to be the manager) was speaking to us really meanly and she kept on being quite impolite while taking our order, and almost throwing cutlery on us instead of just putting it on the table. Half of what was proposed on the menu was unavailable, and not exaggerating it, no juices, pancakes, pastries were missing and so on… Food was not good at all. My friend ordered a white chocolate and she got a coffre when mentioned, the lady ignored. The avocado toast was awful and there was several hair in it. Not to mention the 12% charge in the bill, while the service was terrible and we waited inside as much as we waited outside !!!!! It was overpriced, and not good at all! They probably charge because they NEVER received tips because this restaurant is to avoid at all costs.

Food was burned and when we said to staff they they said no that's how it's supposed to be. Pancakes are not supposed to be reduced to charcoal 🤣the drinks were ok food wasn't

Wanted to get a piece of cake to take away. Staff simply ignored me, even tho I explicitly tried to get their attention. After I finally managed to attract their attention the waiter tried to convince me that it’s my fault instead of apologizing for making me wait.

Really disappointed with this place as I’ve been here for the second time now and the staff are pretty rude… the guy at the bar who serves coffee needs to go on a professional course … he treated a member of staff appallingly in front on customers and he rolls his eyes at people. He really lets the place down … on top of that the service is terrible and extremely slow The service is the worst I have experienced.. they need more staff to clean up and get people in the cafe.. I have never seen so much chaos and stress … The tables at the back are terrible! People are sitting on top of each other and it is horrible! This place needs to be run more smoothly … and the staff need to be more attentive… instead they are running around like headless chickens

Through social media I discovered this place which inspired me a lot from the photos, so I booked a table in advance and came to have breakfast here. We take a pistachio cake, which for them was the best seller, one with honey, a lotus cheesecake and a croissant broken into a pan with various cereals and ice cream, then a pistachio milk and a coffee. Total £60 which is not deserved at all because the things that were saved were the croissant in the pan and the pistachio milk, the pistachio cake was ok but with a delicate flavor while the honey cake and lotus cheesecake we left them to him because he didn't they could eat. Very kind and super nice waitress but the food was ok at times, I wouldn't go back let alone for what we spent which wasn't worth it at all

Very nicely decorated. But in terms of service it was an absolute disaster. Waited 45 minutes for the food, even though we were told the food would be there in 10 minutes... an absolute disgrace! The store was not very busy and we still had to wait a long time. In the end it turned out that we had been forgotten... Service unfortunately unacceptable

If we could give 0 stars we would. It was an awful atmosphere with the staff shouting across the restaurant to speak to each other, they were taking a delivery of 30 packets of milk, that was spilled all down the stairs and also left a puddle downstairs when I went to the toilet, if I wasn’t paying attention I would’ve slipped. They forgot the feta for our breakfast and brought it separately 2-3 minutes after my partners food had been put on the table. My food arrived 5-6 minutes before his, so by the time everything was on the table mine was cold e.g. waited 9 minutes to eat together. Service with a smile - I think not! The male member of staff didn’t even make eye contact when we paid £50 for breakfast, we had a coffee each, a bottle of water and a breakfast plate each. It wasn’t worth £25, let alone £50. I was so disappointed with the energy (or lack of), food, service, price etc. I’ve been looking to go to one of these for a while and it was unkept with light bulbs out, toilet handles broken making it hard to flush and all in all a huge waste of money and time.

This was my first time visiting London and my husband and I chose to come to this place for brunch. We tried some Turkish eggs, French toast and flavored tea. The food, presentation and ambience of the place was top quality. Everyone was friendly and welcoming. We were hosted by Jess and she was absolutely wonderful. We had a great time and I would highly recommend this place to visitors! Will come back again :)

This location fell short of my expectations and was a big disappointment. Staff did not acknowledge us at all upon entering and just stared at us while we waited even though they were very quiet. The place is pretty grubby and really desperately needs a deep clean - the floors and corners were very dirty and the velvet booth style seating was covered in drink stains and dirt that could be easily removed with a steam cleaner. The service was slow, taking over 20 minutes to get my single mocktail and while quite tasty, the strawberry diplomat cake looked nothing like the pictures and was not fresh, with squishy old strawberries on top. I recommend the ombré passionfruit mocktail, it was delicious! Overall, I was so excited to try this café and their marketing does an excellent job of enticing the customers, however the experience falls short. Okay aesthetically for a few pictures but sadly, it just doesn't live up to the hype. Maybe other locations are better?

Sind durch Instagram auf das Café aufmerksam geworden. Wirkt von der Aufmachung her auch sehr ästhetisch und vielversprechend. Zuallererst war kein Tisch drinnen frei, weshalb wir uns selbstständig nach draußen gesetzt haben. Da kam dann 15 Minuten niemand zu uns an den Tisch, obwohl uns davor sogar noch gesagt wurde, dass wir draußen bedient werden. Irgendwann wurde sie dann auf uns aufmerksam, aber auch nur, weil der Tisch neben uns bedient wurde. Schließlich wurde dann sogar ein Tisch drinnen frei, der allerdings erstens an einem shared- Tisch war und sich außerdem direkt an der offenen Tür befand. Unsere Bestellung wurde dann relativ schnell aufgenommen. Allerdings warten wir auf die Getränke 15 Minuten und auf das Essen nochmals weitere 30 Minuten. Die Süßkartoffelpommes waren sehr gut, aber die Trüffelpasta war einfach nur Öl mit Käse (siehe Foto). Als wir dann getrennt zahlen wollten, mussten wir das erstmal eine Minute lang erklären. Anschließend verdrehte sie darüber noch die Augen und lästerte vor ihrem Kollegen über uns. Leider werden wir nicht mehr zurückkommen! Da wir selbst beide im Gastronomiebereich tätig sind kennen wir uns mit stressigen Situation etc gut aus, aber so kann man nicht bedient werden!!!

Extramely low quality afternoon tea for the price paid and the service is very unsatisfactory.

Only appearance, no quality at all. We had the worst experience in a café. The café exhists only for Instagram photos: it's all appearance with no quality. The impression is definitely that of a fake, cold place. The tables are small, too crowded and people around are rude. The service is slow and indifferent, and the information given by the staff is very confusing. The food? Well, never order the afternoon tea. For 40£+ for two people you overpay for a terrible experience. The quality of food is very low and the cakes do not taste good, not to mention the small portions. The scones are no better than supermarket ones. The sandwiches? They are not even sandwiches: too small, with bread only on one side and 'almost absent' stuffing. I would definitely not recommend this place unless you are looking to take pictures with a pink background for a few likes and you don't care about what you eat.

Wow! So delicious! I genuinely recommend the pistachio one. It's so great even expensive.

Lovely restaurant with gorgeous food. The Manager was serving us and was absolutely great - personable, helpful and friendly!

This was the worst restaurant I’ve been to this year. The food took 1 hour to arrive and the waitress still tried to slip in service charge. My meal was bland and soggy (I ordered the truffle pasta). Waste of money and time! I will not be returning.

Really nice place, I do recommend to visit. Lots of cakes, coffee and much more to choose. Unfortunately the staff is not that friendly. They're not really welcoming environment.

Deludente. Mi dispiace dare un cattivo parere ma non sono rimasto per niente soddisfatto. Il locale è molto carino, il personale gentile ed il menù ha una scelta discreta. I prezzi sono davvero spropositati e non rispecchiano assolutamente il piatto. Ho provato un pezzo ti torta, la consistenza era molliccia. Il servizio non è stato neanche rapido, considerando che non solo alimenti che richiedono una eccelsa preparazione. Sicuramente è un bel locale dal punto di vista estetico ma non lo rivisitarei

The service was ON POINT! Really good customer service from the 2 men on evening duty, very impressed. Thank you so much. Love the high tables because the high chairs support the lower back (unlike regular bars tools), which is really hard to find in these IG'able spots. My Coconut Hot Chocolate and Nutella French Toast hit the spot (thought I took a pic of the french toast but didn't 🙁). My friend wasn't feeling her Pink Macaroon and went for the Honey Cake... which she also didn't like. Keep it simple I say and go for the classics - they do them really well. They do a good Chip too. Really nice place. To make the place even nicer I'd say just dim the lighting slightly during the evening.

Came with a group of 7, Drinks were nice, but they forgot part of our order and it took them almost an hour to bring out. One of my toasts was burnt and one of my friends pancakes was also burnt at the bottom.

Whether it was the absolutely monotonous and soulless customer service, or the 30 minute wait for a cold ready made pain au chocolate (which genuinely tasted like it came from ASDA) I left this place extremely dissatisfied.

A nice place to hang out with friends. 6 of us enjoy the food and drinks here. I like the cheese cake and red velvet a lot!! And our waiter Kaif is very considerate and caring to offer us heater on when we were sitting outside, which was a bit cool and drizzling.

We pre-booked the Halloween special. Our cakes had been left out on the side uncovered and didn't look their best. My daughter barely touched her cake and left most of her drink as she didn't enjoy them. My cake wasn't nice either. My drink was lovely, but it was a quarter missing. They didn't know the price of the Halloween deal and overcharged me. I pointed this out, and he had to get someone else to sort out the bill. It was something that we were looking forward to, and we left disappointed. Also, a lot of the flowers were missing from the wall. This is another reason people visit. Because it is meant to be aesthetically pleasing. The flower walls should be maintained and not shabby looking.

Loved our trip to marketplace Elan today, such delicious food and Shadid couldn’t of been more helpful, made the experience great!

We are on a girls trip from Sweden to UK and went for Afternoon Tea to EL&N. We had the most amazing experience from the food , ambiance and most importantly Shahid who was helping us in getting the wonderful treats for us. Shahid was kind, extremely helpful and pleasant and our experience was elevated by his service!!!..

Wow....what gorgeous cakes and drinks. Lovely decor, pity about the curbside noise and vaping around us. Staff were friendly and attentive. Definitely recommend EL&N especially for a cheeky dessert after a meal 😋 👌.

The cakes are not worth the calories. Lots of bland favour, overly sweet and drowning in cream or butter pastes with very little flavour. Looks great , but that's about it.

Don't be drawn in by the lovely floral decor.Visited for a very overpriced afternoon tea with 8 friends.Service was shocking wasn't until we'd finished & paid were we made aware that drinks were unlimited and that's only because I challenged why I had to pay for my bottled water(not included in afternoon tea!) Bread used for sandwiches not fresh,and desserts had definately not been chilled.Not once were we approached and asked if we'd like more drinks or if everything was OK.Really not worth the £44.99 per 2 people.Then had audacity to add a £28 service charge which we refused to pay.

Overpriced tourist trap. Yes there are some nice pink flowers, but I’m there to eat, not do a photoshoot. My mango & passion fruit salad was supposed to have quinoa, but there were no more than a few flecks. £13 for a few leaves & a bit of mango. Also, we were told that tap water was unavailable. Is that even legal? On the plus side, service was polite and quick.

I’ve been to a couple of EL&Ns now and this is by far my favourite. Even though it’s in London it’s nice and quiet so you never have to wait for a table, food and drinks are amazing, service is great and helpful should you ask for anything specific. My 9 year old niece had the best time, so it’s not just for adults either!

Today I visted El&n Market Place and I can say it’s by far my favourite. I was recommended a slice of the fantastic pistachio cake by a young lady. I can’t remember her name but I believe she may be in some sort of senior roll. She was fantastic! Her great customer service allowed me to have a 10/10 experience! 🍰
