Went to Beko for a night away and wanting to watch the Ireland-wales rugby we cave across the George inn which had it on tv . Happy days :) the atmosphere in the pub was dry relaxed and friendly it was pretty busy and the landlord and his staff were on the ball at all times . It was an absolute please to a drink there and I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Berkhamstead . A propper pub. 👍

Great place for a pint or cask ale

I came in here with my Daughter to meet a friend of mine that i hadn't seem for a long time . What an excellent pub woth a great crowd and atmosphere. Best pub i have visited in a very long time. The staff were also top notch.

First visit just for a drink. Very friendly service. Will definitely return. Restaurant seemed popular and good menu.

Great little pub. The outside was lovely to sit out in. A cute cat with three legs kept coming back to sunbathe. Had a good vibe about it. Nice gentleman behind the bar too. Will happily come back here.

Nice cosy pub in a prime spot in the town. It’s nice to be able to sit in the windows and watch the world go by, with a good drinks range that’s reasonably priced. There’s a friendly atmosphere and the bar staff were welcoming, and for a relaxing drink I’d happily return.

We popped on for a drink before heading for a meal...The Lamb were only doing dine in...what's that all about. Friendly welcoming greeting and then offered a table for the four of us by the governor...such a lovely gesture...lovely atmosphere. We'll be back...thanks

Popped in for a swift pint of well kept Blue Moon. Not disappointed. Staff friendly and observant. It's nice to see a pub doing it's best to minimise risks. Staff wearing face masks. A one way system through the pub. Entry and exit doors. Table service with a smile (I think). I like the pub and will be back.

Always a warm welcome at the George

Swift friendly service, has the buzz you get with a place that has locals, and that extra buzz because a large number are young(-ish). Should be back to 5* once the rear garden earthworks are complete! (Whatever that result may be!?) For the moment, covered rear romantically lit and furnished area, immediately through back door - works well. Usually a good range of 2-3 classy draught bitter beers... down to one (Wadworth's 6x) tonight... but that's a good one fortunately!

I returned after the worst of Covid had ended...(we hope). Still a pleasant well run pub with a mixed crowd. Possibly more kids than went there a year ago. Lovely and very helpful girls behind the bar and serving when I went mid week. Sadly they were flummoxed by my request for non alcoholic wine.....worse to come....a pint of orange juice& lemonade was £3.60. Really? Let's have a reality check. Its Berko not Monaco. Real shame coz we like this pub.

Such a lovely little outside courtyard, perfect for drinking in Covid times. Table service by really friendly staff. Been here twice and loved it!

My local for the last 32 years. What can l say? Love the place. Simon and Charlie always make you feel very welcome as do all the staff. Great range of ales, lagers and great wines. Cocktails on offer too. They are dealing with the virus very well and l always feel safe and secure there. Best to phone and book a table, especially at the usual busy times, evenings, Sat and Sun lunchtime and evenings etc. It's a wet pub only, no food served but you'll do well to use the George as a pre or after dinner drink. Try it, l'm sure you'll love the place.

Been going to this pub since the 90s. Back now as a visitor who lives elsewhere, and still love it, even with the Covid-19 rules and regulations. The service was impeccable by the girls behind the bar. They pulled out all the stops and were polite, friendly, and humorous. Definitely a pub worth a visit.

Went in here with some colleagues from work for a pre-dinner drink. The refurb it had recently has made it feel lighter and airy. A buzzy feel inside with lots of chattering people, but at £4.90 for a pint of San Miguel I'm afraid I won't be in there too often.

Great little pub with a fair amount of seating both inside and out. Staff are all top, very observant, with minimal bar standing time. Good selection of drinks.

Just passing through but lovely beer and friendly staff

This place has become a victim of its own success. Obscenely expensive, yet still very busy with the heady stench of line cleaner hanging in the air. The staff are friendly and welcoming, but this doesn't compensate for drinking overpriced beer in a smelly pub. I'll not be going again out of choice.
