Amazing service by Mia, lovely restaurant with a great atmosphere and the food was amazing, I got the ramen noodle with chicken gyoza and it was delicious!

Came here for brunch, the menu is a mixture of standard brunch things and Asian inspired dishes. We chose to come here as it's dog friendly. The food was lovely and the service was excellent. Would definitely come again if in the area.

Came here for brunch with a friend, there obviously wasn’t enough staff in to cope with how busy it was so didn’t mind waiting extra for our brunch but when it came I was thoroughly dissatisfied £13.75 for a full vegan breakfast and there was nothing special about it a pitiful amount of food it was over cooked and unseasoned and all from the freezer aisle nothing home made to justify just under £14 My friend got the scrambled eggs and salmon which ended up giving her diarrhoea Definitely never going here again

Después de escuchar tantas críticas geniales recientemente mi esposa y yo decidimos visitar el restaurante George Charles (Pan - Asiática) en Didsbury ... . y ciertamente no nos decepcionó. A su llegada se le hace sentir inmediatamente muy bienvenido por el equipo y hay un ambiente realmente encantador - El gerente, Andy, fue "más allá" de nuestras expectativas para garantizar que estábamos muy bien atendidos y nada era demasiado problema. El menú es muy interesante y también incluye una emocionante selección de Pan - comida callejera asiática platos que estábamos dispuestos a explorar. Decidimos compartir dos platos de entrada, una Gyoza de Pollo que era ligero, crujiente y cocinado perfectamente y también disfrutamos de una selección de Sushi que era extremadamente fresco y muy bien presentado en el plato. Para seguir tuvimos un Teriyaki de Salmón y un Katsu de Gambas que estaban absolutamente deliciosos y luego para terminar nos permitimos un Affogato Unagi que era un “must” absoluto, particularmente con el Sake de Ciruela! Si quieres disfrutar de una noche perfecta donde la cocina de alta calidad va de la mano con un servicio impecable, ¡este es el lugar para ti!

Having heard so many great reviews recently my wife and I decided to visit the George Charles (Pan-Asian) restaurant in Didsbury …. and we were certainly not disappointed. Upon arrival you are immediately made to feel very welcome by the team and there is a really lovely atmosphere – The Manager, Andy, went “above and beyond” our expectations to ensure that we were really well looked after and nothing was too much trouble. The menu is very interesting and also includes an exciting selection of Pan-Asian street food dishes which we were keen to explore. We decided to share two starter dishes, a Chicken Gyoza which was light, crispy and cooked perfectly and we also enjoyed a selection of Sushi which was extremely fresh and beautifully presented on the plate. To follow we had a Salmon Teriyaki and a Prawn Katsu which were absolutely delicious and then to finish we indulged ourselves in a Unagi Affogato which was an absolute “must”, particularly with the Plum Sake! If you want to enjoy a perfect night out where top quality cuisine goes hand-in-hand with impeccable service, then this is the place for you!

Dog friendly and lovely staff. Sushi is always amazing, and the other mains are good. Stand out dish is the panko asparagus, but I would recommend the salt n pepper chips.

We decided to have dinner here after picking up a family member in Manchester and what a good decision that was. Great atmosphere and the food was amazing. It’s so great to have a menu to choose from as well as Unagi sushi! We aren’t from the area but will definitely be back whenever we are!!!

La comida está bien, yo tenía el teriyaki de salmón, estaban fuera de la carne de res, era agradable, pero me siento muy caro para lo que es. No mejor que wagamamma, estaba muy ocupado, el servicio era un poco golpe y falta. Bastante lento pero muy amable y educado. 6 de nosotros comimos y bebimos 2 bebidas cada uno (2 personas sin alcohol) factura total wad £ 230 Inc 10% cargo por servicio.

Perfect food in a vibrant atmosphere and service was efficient and friendly!

I ordered over the phone and collected in person. I ordered one portion of tuna sashimi, they gave and charged me for two. The waitress just held the contactless machine in front of me without a word or telling the price.. not sure now if this was why, it came an across a little bit rude. It was in a closed bag so didn’t realise until I got home that I’d been charged for something I didn’t order. The tuna itself was bland and tasteless, but of a weird texture to normal. Not great overall but there seemed to be a nice atmosphere with people sitting outside.

A perfect place for a lazy Sunday brunch. Decent veggie and vegan options, portions aren't huge, but that suits us just fine (would rather that than an insanely huge full English that you finish and can't walk home from!), and a good price to boot.

The fish and chips are somewhat disappointing, as there is rather more batter than fish. The mushy peas were cold. It was unfortunate to catch a staff member at the bar taking a sip of a prepared drink from a straw and surreptitiously changing to a new straw before serving the drink to a customer. Especially in the age of covid, this is not harmless behaviour. Nice layout and atmosphere.

We found this restaurant today for lunch which was great. Lovely food and fabulous service..... Dog friendly as well so we could sit in the warm whilst enjoying our meal. What a shame we live 3 hours away but next time we are in Manchester we will visit again. Thank you.....

Visited 3 x over the last month now and we’ve consistently enjoyed the food. My favourites are the sushi, crispy squid and katsu curry. You get decent service so can also enjoy a few drinks too! 10/10

We ordered 3 Full English breakfast and the food and presentation was excellent. Really quick service very attentive staff and served by the fabulous Pakteo if only every restaurant could have a staff member like her. She was bubble attentive and very pleasant we will definitely be returning.

Lovely brunch today. I had smoked salmon and scrambled eggs on toast. My son had the full English breakfast. Both well presented and full of flavour. Friendly service I would definitely return. The cocktail menu looks delicious...

Everything we tried from the small plates menu was tasty and fresh. Service was also very good. It is also dog friendly which is a big bonus.

Firstly only taken one of our food orders, conpletely ignored the other Didnt ask any dietary requirements Brought out normal mayo all over my chips when i am vegan, didnt refund me and wanted me to pay again One of the worst places ive been in a long time, will never be going back, avoid!

We dined early evening with friends and were really happy with our experience The staff were friendly ( but please stop using the Americanism guys all the time!) The menu choice is eclectic and varied, beautifully presented and delicious too! For a Didsbury eaterie we found the pricing fair..to all those who complain about a service charge..it’s Not compulsory! If you don’t like it, don’t pay it! We were very happy to do so! Will be back!

Came here for a Saturday lunch with my husband and daughter on the recommendation of a friend i was a bit sad to have missed the brunch menu BUT I was still incredibly impressed by the food, the service and the atmosphere. I asked our server for a few recommendations on rolls - which I did order and each of them was lovely and something different than what I would normally order. She was knowledgeable and helpful. She was also very kind to our 3 year old and honestly just really great overall - some of the best service I’ve had in a really long time. The restaurant itself is really cute and has a nice vibe. I wish I would have been able to eat more so I could try more of the dishes! We will definitely return when we are in the area again.

Been here a couple of times and it’s always been fantastic. Food and cocktails are amazing and the service is great. Definitely a firm favourite for us and even better that they’re dog friendly.

Love this place. My wife and I often visit the George Charles for lunch on a Friday. Fantastic mix of different styles of food to suit us both, great selection of drinks and always excellent service. Highly recommended 🙂

Great burger if you like mahoosive burgers. Been twice and never had anything else.

Great venue, nice atmosphere, good range of drinks especially craft type beers etc, friendly staff. Food was wonderful, shared some small plates and then we ate off the mains too. Really tasty and good range of choices... Bill included service (no prob) and it was nice that, when I went to tip even more, they pointed out we'd already paid for service... I thought that was a nice touch... When back in the area, will visit again.

This is our second time here and definitely won't be the last. I ordered a Salmon teriyaki for a change and the portion of the salmon was really good and worth the price. My husband also loved his burgers as much as we both loved the Unagi bangbang chicken karaage. Their caramel iced coffee was really tasty as well!

Had an amazing breakfast the service the staff are excellent even if your not vegan try the vegan Black pudding with your breakfast top place 😋

Really really disappointing,eaten here many times and agree sushi and breakfast good. Dinner tonight awful,pale soggy chips,taste less onion rings, horrible bread buns and dense unappealing red velvet cake. Not sure what is going on but wouldn’t return. Staff lovely though.

The place was extremely noisy and the food was below average. The Yakisoba was oily and sweet. Our waitress forgot to clear our starter plates so we had to wait ages for our mains. And they still charged us 10% for service. For terrible service, I have to say.

My husband visited during the week and hasn’t stopped talking about the breakfast so we decided to have breakfast here today. So glad we did, what an amazing breakfast! Lovely friendly staff, great quality food and dog friendly.We’ll definitely be returning.

Great food, restaurant quality, but way too loud and hot even though it was not a warm day! People next to us had a dog which barked incessantly whenever anything resembling a dog went past the window, made for a very tense atmosphere combined with the chat and loud music.

We love it! The food is super tasty and good quality. The restaurant is very unique since they serve a mix of British pub food and pan-asian food. We've been several times and always enjoyed their sushi, starters, and burgers. The katsu chicken burger is really delicious and comes with some chicken wings and fries. Big portion and amazing taste. The service was really good. They also do very nice cocktails.

Enjoyed lovely lunch of sushi and rice bowl, well presented and full of flavour. Lovely glass of my favourite rose and my friend enjoyed glass red! Staff friendly and service prompt! Place was quiet on Tuesday afternoon and could imagine gets busy at weekends and evenings! Would recommend and like to visit again!

Had some really nice Japanese food and drink here on a date night. Our dog was really comfortable as well.

A surprising find for fairly decent japanese food in the local area. Tuna tacos were excellent as were the spider rolls and spicy tuna rolls. Will be back to try out more things. Service was great as well, really friendly and efficient.

Great dog friendly place to eat in a contemporary part of Manchester.

I hate to leave a negative review for anywhere but recently had a really disappointing experience here. Visited for Mother’s Day with my family and partner who is a Celiac. A member of staff told us explicitly that all the soy sauce was gluten free- therefore my partner starting eating it. Another member of staff then came over and told us the sauce was not gluten free, however he had already eaten it. There was no apology at any point, and the original staff member who said he could eat it then avoided us. We have worked in hospitality before and just found the treatment and approach to the allergy by staff extremely bizarre and disappointing. No one appeared to understand the seriousness of the allergy or the fact he had now consumed a significant amount of gluten and would be severely unwell for the next few days. The staff appeared to not be trained on intolerances/allergies as the initial staff member he asked for the allergen menu from didn’t know what celiac disease was. Overall was so disappointing to not even be offered an apology! It’s a shame as the food/drinks were nice, but our experience was completely ruined by untrained and quite frankly incompetent staff.

Myself and my partner visit Burton Road every Sunday for a spot of brunch. On Sunday, we did fancy visiting a restaurant we have not tried before. Menu looked fab and was really excited so booked ahead. As we entered our table was pointed to us. It was an extremely awkward shimmy to the table past the crowded tables, physically unable to pass without touching other customers and minimal clear space to walk to the table. We was then squeezed between another couple. Drinks ok and plenty of choice, menu a mix between English and pan Asian dishes. Server asked me if I would like to upgrade to the salt and pepper fries and I did. Please see photo for reference. I questioned whether these were salt and pepper after not seeing an ounce of seasoning and was told they are lightly dusted with chilli seasoning. On the menu it states " Spicy mayo, spring onions and fresh chillies". She questioned whether I would like to kitchen to add more 'chilli seasoning' but I refused as this was not what was advertised. If the chips had been described as 'barely seasoned chippy chips in a light chilli powder" I would not have ordered. Not to mention you receive a portion of around 5 chips. I also chose the 'spicy edamame' which again had a pinch of seasoning and an overwhelming amount of oil. The beans were also not soft but instead rather hard to chew. I ended up having to leave immediately - leaving my boyfriend at the table, as I was so overwhelmed. Not only was I hungry and disappointed, the couple seated next to me who's shoulders were brushing mine was openly coughing without covering their mouths and loudly burping across the table. All of this combination did trigger my anxiety, not only did I feel repulsed but I felt so claustrophobic and was even then a struggle to leave. Safe to say I would not recommend. Dishes extremely bland and not as advertised. Paid full price for the salt and pepper chips also - yet not having been served them. If you are claustrophobic - I would avoid also.

Delicious Japanese food in a lovely pub with with a small cafe feel. Beer is great too!

Surprisingly good sushi for a fusion style restaurant

Very cosy place on the corner opposite Withington Community hospital. Subdued lighting, big windows, large well-stocked bar. The attraction for the teenagers was the large sushi selection and the wide choice of small Asian plates. The food was beautifully presented and exceptionally tasty. We had 9 dishes between 4 and we were stuffed, but nothing went back but empty plates. Spent about £35.- per head with non-alcoholic drinks only. A new family favourite!

Delicious food, excellent service, polite, friendly staff and a great range of vegan food available, fantastic atmosphere and superb decoration, highly recommended. Dog friendly too. Whats not to like?

There were a lot of tables available but we were seated at a broken table by the door. It was freezing cold and we asked our server to move tables. We have been told that all tables are reserved ... However they were still available at the time we were leaving.

Very overpriced for Burton Road, atmosphere is cosy and dark but it's not very warm.

The chicken club sandwich and the bangbang chicken wings are amazing! Nicest hot chocolate and sandwich ive had in a while. Staff are lovely& the Christmas decorations look lovely. Couldn’t recommend this place more!

All good I take nothing away from any aspect of this bar and restaurant except I think with all thex extreme taxes we all have to pay it is not right to BUNG this weird thing at the bottom of your bill saying Carbon Free Dining LOL I don't think so haha

We had a great meal for my daughters birthday, the service was excellent and everyone was really friendly, I was even allowed to take my dog, cos after all she is part of the family so that made it even better. Thankyou everyone at george Charles 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
