This was the best cream tea we had during our trip to both Cornwall and Devon. Not a detail was missed. The cosy well maintained location, the friendly staff, the matching tea sets and adorable decorations. Truly a great afternoon!

Went to Moretonhampstead on a sunny Sunday with my partner to see the transport museum and fancied a sit down and a drink afterwards. We were happy to find this place open as most places close at 4 on a Sunday and it was nearer 5pm. I am always worried when visiting somewhere new as a lot of places do not even have one gluten free cake to accommodate my partner, but not so here.! We sat down and were greeted by very friendly staff. (possibly the owner) and we had nice hot drinks. (not like the luke warm stuff I am always served in the chain shops ) I had the Victoria sponge, which was very tasty and my partner had Gluten free carrot cake, which was also very good. The café was spotless, the surroundings and the bone china made it feel like stepping back in time where you felt able to relax and not rushed like the awful modern places these days. We also enjoyed the eye candy too, which is naughty of us, but we are only human after all . We are new to Devon but will definitely return to sample the other food on the menu and try another cake as they all looked so good. If you are in the area, we suggest that you pop in as you will not be disappointed.

Finley Brown's Cafe

31/05/2019: Had the most intense rocky road brownie. It was amazing. Even had bits of curly wurly on it. Finley Browns possibly suffers from it's own success as it was really busy, but staff were friendly and calm despite that
30/07/2019: Stopped today and I had tea, my wife had a latte and a currant scone with butter and jam. Staff were really attentive and eager to please. The food was ordered and arrived really quickly even though they were really busy. The scone was warmed but you could also tell that it was really fresh, the butter was small portion size wrapped and the jam arrived in a small jar, all completed the treat. We looked at their menu which was on the table and the range of food was excellent. We also watched diners food arrive which looked great with reasonable portion size and well displayed.

Two Mile Oak Inn

14/04/2019: Sadly don’t come by here so often these days but pleased to find that the old place is still in fine fettle. It’s bang up against a main road but with safe access, parking and garden space to rear. I like Bass but there are some other very drinkable pints. There is a good range of pubby food fairly priced. Moderately lively on our visit and you get the feel that the pub likes its punters to be looking for a good time. We’ll be happy to stop off here again.
21/08/2019: Went here for dinner whilst staying at the nearby caravan site. Food is really good - I had the pie which was really good - proper filling and really tasty. Proper chips and all at a reasonable price. Good selection wines available and staff were wonderful - the couldn't do enough to help us. Very reasonable prices and a nice atmosphere - will return next time we're in the area
