The Manor Inn in Teignbridge

This is a perfect place for refreshment during a hike (in our case The Eden Way). We arrived soaking wet and were welcomed by friendly people and a log fire and local beers. It felt like a dream because we were cold and wet and were not expecting to find an open pub!

My lady and I had Sunday lunch here on Sunday 5 October 2024. It is a very quiet 'leafy' location with plenty of parking not far off the Devon Expressway - very easy to find. The menu choices were good - including vegetarian/vegan. We had roast chicken breast and Hake (fish) both were superbly cooked, with a good selection of vegetables. We are experienced 'diners out' at the best restaurants (both in the UK and Europe, mainly France) and we cannot but recommend 'the Manor' most highly - a definite 10/10. The service was excellent and prices moderate (for two starters, two mains, one pudding, one glass red wine and a coffee - we were charged £63 - and paid £70 (included £7 tip). We will certainly go again. [It's open for lunch Tuesdays to Sundays].

Just come back from evening meal and can't recommend enough, nicest meal I've had in a long time. All four of us had different dishes and each one was fantastic. Great home cooked food. Keep up the great work.

This is the shortest review I have ever written : Our dinner at The Manor Inn was one of the best meals we have ever experienced including visits to Michelin starred restaurants. The food was sublime, presentation was perfect, service was warm, friendly and professional. There is nothing more to say.

By far the best plate of food I’ve had in Devon for a long time. Friendly welcome, good service and the specials we chose were incredible. The beer garden is small but looks nicely tucked away. From the outside you wouldn’t know it was this good. Part of the charm is the modestly of the people and place. Everything else speaks for itself.

Outstanding cuisine, excellent value for the quality of the food. Highly recommended.

Worth travelling for. We had a lovely evening meal with friends. Well looked after and friendly locals.

The food and service are absolutely first class. The staff are friendly and helpful but not intrusive. The menu is extensive and the food beautifully cooked.

Wow! What a meal to celebrate my birthday! . Gorgeous starter, chicken meal absolutely spot on, so was the duck breast for my husband, and the lemon torte with raspberry coulis a dream. And what a surprise upstairs (to visit the loo) a lovely room completely out of character to downstairs. Pity you are a little too far away to make this pub a more regular visit and oh, those narrow lanes😩. Worth it though. Thank you. May call again one of these days.

Lovely pub, great service, friendly, excellent food, sunny garden

The food is excellent with decent sized portions. The location is stunning. I sat in the garden overlooking a gorgeous meadow in the sunshine, and the landlady was very kind and welcoming. I will certainly visit again.

This is a traditional pub at its heart with a sprinkling of soffistication and superlative standard of food. Once had a pheasant starter which was amazing where as this time I had a pie. Forget pie minister this pie was jam packed with meat akin to a stew on the plate. Veg is served one plate between two people, whilst there is plenty of veg it creates an adversarial atmosphere between a dinning partner who is not your partner when it's the in-laws, nice though. There is a great selection of drinks and the tentative server is well trained in observing when to attend to you without being a pest. Overall a fantastic experience I left there satiated and a smile on my face. This was not my first visit, however, my experience was so good I felt the need to comment. On a side booking is imperative as it is so popular. Insummery absolutely fantastic!

We had such a wonderful lunch at the Manor Inn. We had crab rarebit to start, the sea bream special and pork fillet - all of which were delicious. This was followed by the chocolate creme brulee. I am not normally a creme brulee fan but it was really exceptional. We both commented it was the best meal out we have had in a while. The team were extremely friendly and checked in regularly. Cannot recommend more highly!

Very good and tasty food from down-to-earth to upscale at absolutely reasonable prices. Friendly staff and nice boss. Nice atmosphere, pub downstairs, restaurant upstairs. Are at the beginning of our vacation. Will definitely visit this restaurant several times...

Over the last two years, I’ve been here on weekdays, I’ve been here on weekends. I’ve visited at lunchtime, I’ve visited in the evenings. This pub is consistently excellent with great staff and lovely food. I’d give it 6 stars if I could.

Their food was excellent 👌 more restaurant food than pub food, but at a good price. Their real ale 🍺 was also great. One of the best pub lunches I have had in a while.

lovely place to visit food is very good , there is an outside eating area. Nice seating area upstairs staff very friendly all in all nice place to eat Or have a quiet drink.

This restaurant is everything you hope for in a restaurant - the food is delicious, the veges are cooked to perfection, the ambiance is friendly, and the staff go the extra mile to ensure you have a good experience. We look forward to going again.

Lacks a bit of atmosphere, and better ales, but fabulous food, and at a good affordable price, most definitely a hidden gem.

The food was wonderful, everybody enjoyed their choices of starter and main. The service was a bit slow to start with but improved. They were very busy.

Another lovely meal at the Manor Inn. Been a few times and always been very happy. Food is excellent, with an ever-changing menu and specials board; everything is always lovely . Enough veggie options that I have plenty of choice as well. Delicious puddings too!

Cannot understand all these glowing reviews. We went today for my birthday lunch. The food was good, and the pub is lovely, and in a wonderful rural situation, but all the staff were manifestly unfriendly. This is the unfriendliest experience I have had in a pub in the West Country for years. They weren’t even friendly to the locals. When we went to settle up the charmless landlord didn’t even say a word, just placed the tab down and took payment. No thank you, no nothing. Try smiling at your customers rather than scowling. We won’t be back.

We visited the Manor Inn on a Saturday lunchtime. The bar and restaurant are very nicely decorated and have a very relaxed atmosphere. The food was excellent and the staff very friendly and attentive. We have already booked our next visit with a bigger group.

Amazingly good food. One of the finest meals I've had in a pub. In fact, I've paid a lot more for less tasty food. Locally sourced and prepared by a chef who clearly knows his business. Well kept beer too.

Superb Sunday lunch. Food is well above average pub food, a proper 5 star. Thoroughly enjoyed the roast rib of beef but envied my wife's Moroccan spiced sweet potato tart, it was soo tasty. Puddings also above average. There is love and pride in this food and it shows. Booked again for next Sunday.

We have eaten at The Manor a number of times and each time they do not disappoint. The food is excellent, the portions are generous. I highly recommend you visit.

Friendly and efficient staff. Warm welcome. Varied menu of tasty dishes - starters, mains desserts and specials on the board. Two draught ales as well as other beers and ciders on "tap". Comfortable furnishings. A couple of hundred meters off the B3193 over a narrow bridge. Adequate car park.

Just had our first meal at this friendly local village pub. The food was excellent, decent portions for the price and friendly staff. They were very busy tonight with a Hen party and other diners, but were still jolly, smiley and professional, despite being very busy. We will definitely be returning to try other dishes.

Faultless meal, we were staying at Finlake and popped up here for an evening meal. Both had the rib eye steaks, the 8oz & 10oz I recommend that you go for the bigger one (it was considerably better imo) and shared the cheesecake as dessert. A wonderful place, polite staff and very well presented food and absolutely delicious steak

A quick lunchtime meeting turned into a very quiet meeting as we all tucked in to some outstanding food. Very much recommended - would allow longer for a future meeting though, as the parmesan risotto slowed down conversation somewhat! :-)

Beautiful country pub. Fabulous food, with large portions.

We ate here three times during our week stay in Brixham. Once for Sunday dinner and then twice more after that. The food is superb and reasonably priced and the staff are all helpful, friendly and efficient. I’d certainly recommend eating here if in the area.

Genuinely a top notch Sunday lunch. I'm not a raving Michelin foodie, but aside from perhaps some run of the mill veg, the meal was particularly excellent. I will bring friends back and will be confident of a treat at modest cost.

Everything from booking to table service to food was excellent. Whilst very busy staff are doing all they can to keep covid measures in place despite restrictions being lifted now.. (asking you to sanitise on entry and signs asking to wear masks when moving around.. all staff still wearing masks which we appreciated) only let down by a few guests who did not wear masks, which in my opinion is rather selfish and we should do all we can to protect staff and other customers. Special board as well as main menu with desserts to die for. Well done and thank-you. Highly recommend
