Our server was lovely, very chatty and friendly whilst bringing our food. We felt she was approachable and made sure we had everything we needed. Kody was the chef today, no complaints there food was perfect, thankyou, we come here often as always good food at a good price

The new referb is stunnin..so classy and fresh...the breakfast was absolutely beautiful but the best part of the visit was jo and katelynn our bar staff and waitress...super friendly and hard working these ladies didn't stop constantly checking the place was serving its absolute best the whole time.. absolute credit to your company well done ladies xxx

Popped into the Gatehouse near King's Lynn for breakfast and was pleasantly surprised with the outstanding service, quality and value for money we experienced. The atmosphere was friendly and the Staff greeted us like friends. Our breakfasts were HUGE leaving us truly stuffed and sated. And the loos were well stocked and clean too - another bonus. Next time we're at WATATUNGA this will definitely be an essential stop.

Friendly waitress Liv she was very helpful and chatty took the time not just to take the order but to talk about things weather and cars

Food tastes great however there was a hair in 2/4 of our meals, at the beginning there was also some food they forgot but brang it out soon after we told them. Our server Jo was lovely. The menus was also very dirty.

Had a fantastic meal at The Gatehouse! The service was warm and friendly—Emma took great care of us and made the whole experience feel really personal. The food was absolutely delicious, thanks to Matty in the kitchen—everything was cooked to perfection. You can tell a lot of care goes into both the service and the food here. Highly recommend and will definitely be back!

Clean with friendly staff. Food....The pie wasn't edible it's pastry was rock hard and dry inside. Other meals lacked presentation.

The food was great but the service was even better! When you go try to get Roseann to serve you drinks, GREAT crack, funny as hell and will always have the time for you even when it's busy. The BEST bartender I know (and I know alot!).

Went to the gatehouse that just re opened recently and wow! Food was fresh to death and we were served by Liv who was so wonderful and friendly. Made the experience even better and definitely will be coming back.

The food is good and cheap, but even after a £100k reno the coke is still flat (9months and counting). Edit (for the reply): Firstly, thanks for the reply, I and the people I go with have mentioned it to your staff multiple times.

i pre booked a table for mother's day turned up ordered food waited 2 hours still no food and food was still another 1 and 20 minutes still to wait so got a refund You've asked me to email you which I have and no response and still no refund on my bank either

I booked a table for 4 adults and evening meal days in advance (time and date) for our visit to Kings Lynn on Mothers Day. The Gatehouse was much more busy and noisy than was anticipated. Consequently our meals were served some 90 minutes after the agreed time. Good points were: - we were advised on arrival of the 90 minute delay - using up special offers, we received 4 free glasses of wine - once we had got the attention of Eve, we were kept updated - Eve showed excellent customer care skills - Eve was attentive, polite, informative while very busy up to and including serving our meals within 90 minutes as stated. - Having travelled extensively in the UK, I would put Eve near the top of the best waitresses I can remember. - Eve said she is studying “management” at college. I hope Green King are supporting her; in my experience and opinion that will pay-off. ……. Jim Roche

No football for a start since their refurb. Don't book the Travelodge next door if you want to watch the footy with beer here. Tried the food. Waited ages for it and it was dry and not hot. Travelling workers........stay away.

Wouldn't let me do a new review so edit this one some people are so rude they told you as you walked in how long food was so if u didn't want to wait you could leave. The pair staff was going brilliant to say it was busy I will always rate this pub and the staff 💯 well done again team This is the best pub in lynn for food even when they was running on Skelton staff they still made the experience a good one. Go at least once maybe twice a week absolutely love the place 💯 percent from me

Visited the Kings lynn Gatehouse pub after it's recent refit. All looks lovely. Particularly impressed with the new members of staff. The two young Callums behind the bar, and Eve on table service were particularly lovely and friendly, and made our visit most enjoyable.

1-10 . It's just reopend and it's not good, it's fully packed the light lost power, they refused to make a drink I ordered, a lot of people this evening have been waiting for over 3hours for our food. I've got to say as a Bussiness that just re-opened, their not doing well

We ordered our drinks, they forgot one drink, brought the drink then forgot the ice in the drink we asked for. Then the food came and they forgot one of the portions, we told them we havnt got it and they went off and gave us that portion 30 mins later. But they did offer us a drink on the house for forgetting the food.

We ordered 5 meals but whey missed one,so all of us waited till they going to make the last meal ,that we could eat all together, honestly was feel disappointed

Just been to the gatehouse. It's had a major refurbishment and its really nice now. Food and serves very good . We will be back

Great place for lower cost prices but a good selection of food and drink, a lilltle understaffed on some days but that can happen to any business... Could do with an x 2 pool table being as I just learned they are closed for the month of march 2025 for refurbishment and it didn't state that on the Google opening hours... Can't wait to see the refurb though... A great place overall.

I went hear Saturday about 1.45, with my 3 grandsons two are 8 and one is 9, 2 had Quadzilla 1 had Chil Korean burger my partner had sloppy Joe, I had steak pie every one of my family are ill with being sick so 4 out of five are ill I can only put it down to the burgers they had , I'm fine as I had the pie, we have never had a problem like this as we come hear alot, but this had definitely put me off ,so for the bad review

Visited Saturday lunchtime, ordered 2 burgers and kids meal. Food was lukewarm and there was not a lot of it. Waitress dropped half the chips on the floor when she brought the food and didn't bring any more. Will be a while before we venture back 😔

Outdated hence the new refurb coming soon. Very quiet.

Well what a shocker. This is usually a very nice restaurant. Today I brought my family in for lunch but the food was of very poor quality. When I complained I was told that the restaurant is closing for three weeks and although the food is known to be sub standard they are not allowed to order fresh supplies. This is very poor customer service. I also found out that the very nice hard working staff are not being paid whilst the restaurant is closed. This is disgusting behaviour by the management. I will have to think long and hard if I'm going to come back here when it reopens.

Tiff was a friendly and lovely waitress. And the chefs Alan and Graham made a lovely meal and great value for money

Brilliant pub for a family get together. I had booked together for the 8 of us and we were politely shown to our table. I used my Green King App to order and pay. The menu had plenty to suit everyone including the 2 children and 1 vegetarian. The food and drinks arrived quickly and we were well looked after by Marie who was both friendly and efficient. We all had a great time and will be back. Thank you!

ordered chicken for 12 pounds, they brought 2 pieces of toasted bread, a piece of chicken and one piece of plastic cheese, it's terrible. 2 onions and 5 french fries. look this was my last time. I'd rather go to McDonald's. it's even a shame to put 1 star if I could, I put -. I'm thinking of the person who thinks about the food menu and food presentation? and the taste, maybe he was drunk?

Came in for Breakfast on Friday morning which was really busy. Heidi couldn't do enough to accommodate us. Food was lovely and we had a wonderfull experience.

The burger I had there was so juicy and delicious. There was a small issue, but was corrected at lightning speed.

Rather stupidly left my phone in the loo & the wonderful staff at The Gatehouse found it & even brought it to me at the end of the night. You should be very proud of your staff, they are friendly & welcoming, the food was great & they really give the place a great vibe. Thank you soo much again.x

It was only £8 for a basic curry and free drink (including some alcohol options) so I really cant complain, it was actually decent enough. Shame the Onion Bhaji was completely burned. Brand new EV chargers in the car park are the reason I came in.

As a family we come here often. It's a bit hit and miss with the gatehouse kings lynn food, assumingly different chefs. On occasions can be very delicious other times food portions are smaller than previous. Atmosphere is nice space for large families but do book if there are many of you, good parking, outside play area for the children. Service, staff are always polite and helpful. Prices are reasonable.

When for dinner tonight with a friend and our very noisy 3 children.. staff was brilliant!! we was served by Maria I believe her name was and I also believe it was her first shift which she absolutely smashed!! The food was lovely and very fast!! Desserts was made and brought out by the lovely tiff and was smashing!! Amazing all round!! really nice evening and we’ll definitely be coming again!!

We have eaten here before with our grandchildren and have enjoyed it so we thought we’d eat here before going to the theatre and was very disappointed. Firstly couldn’t order at the bar had to download the app and order. App downloaded and order placed at 18.04 at 18.20 my husband asked at the bar where our drink were, he was assured they were on their way. 18.30 our food comes but still no drinks so my husband went back to the bar to be told our drinks were on their way way. The pie was delicious but the burger was not very nice tasted cheap so I left it, the salt n pepper seasoning was so thick I think the lid must have come off when shaking as it I could literally spoon it off my fries. Our drinks were plonked on table half way through our meal. We left feeling very disappointed!!

Really nice barmaid who welcomed us, as we were running late, was really helpful. Would definitely go again.

2 4 1 on Burgers was absolutely amazing. The Korean BBQ Chicken burger is a must have. Waited less then 10 minutes for the food to arrive and the service was excellent. 10/10

Quite a regular in this pub as I just can’t help returning since the food and staff are always perfect! Management has changed and I must say for the better. This place is so much cleaner, running smoother and overall a lot better than it used to be, everyone is a credit to the team. Booked table for after Christmas to celebrate with family. We pre-ordered from Christmas menu......mistake! Prawn cocktail "unavailable", at least half a plate of weird tasting vegetables (cooked on the same pot?), overcooked turkey (or warmed up leftovers?), and the oddest tasting sauces! Desserts were better, but "chocolate orange sauce".......no thank you! We won't be having our Christmas meal here again.

Lovely meal, been a few times when visiting Kings Lynn and each time been good Review for latest visit January 2025, unfortunately this place has gone downhill since our last visit, food was ok but some of the food was not available and was told by customer beside us it's happening a lot. Service was not as good as before. We had a table with staples in them with one broken. Moved to another and again staples, was told the tables are being changed in March, how long would it take someone to go round to remove them. A big let down from other visits

I work with a disabled lady and every week we go to this restaurant.. the staff are always very welcoming and pleasant ... the nicest place in town to take the lady. Tiff woods who works here went out of her way to welcome us this week and cut up all the ladies food for her and made sure she was happy in every way she could. This is a fantastic way to treat customers with disabilities.... we both have a lovely time in this place

Most times the food is great but you can go in another time and it not up to par not hot, sometimes warm...but it doesn't stop us going in regularly

Have been here a few times, the food is good for the price, if there are any issues the staff are happy to help. Our waitress Charlie was very lovely and helpful.

It was one of the worst experiences I had in a while. When we got there, we sat down in a booth and the tv screen was broken. After a while, we went to the bar to order our food and there was no burger buns, no chips, and no fish. It was my last day there with my family as I was heading back home the next day and we wanted to have a nice meal, and I never did thanks to the lack of supply. Thoroughly disappointed with this place,may not return.

Myself my husband son and granddaughter went last night to have a meal before taking my granddaughter home to Birmingham and was thoroughly disappointed and angry that they had run out of fish chips and burger buns and was only five past six very poor organisations considering it was burger special day really disappointed

Went for breakfast with grandkids to have with santa 🎅. Santa 🎅 was very good. Great with the kids. Food was very dear. Orders mixed up. Long wait. This is just our opinion. Some people complaining. We would not go there again.

Ordered 2 x lamb flat breads. Came on cold plates. Chips was just warm. The flat bread was cold .. very unpleasant left 80 %of food. complained and they knocked off the drinks . Don't waist your money . Cost me £27 . Never going in there again .
