I went on a Saturday for a coffee and a chat only to find it shut. Internet says 12. My group sat outside for a while until a member of staff appeared cleaning tables and said it wasn't open until 12 despite what was and currently is advertised on the internet. So my friends and I left to go to a bar that was open. Fast forward a week and I've got a £100 fine for using their carpark. So they didn't open on time and now their car park company has fined me. Nice one.

Graham and the team made us feel very welcome and we had some lovely food.

Thoroughly enjoyed our lunchtime visit today. We were a party of six including two vegans and we all found something exciting to eat. I chose from the set lunch menu and had a brilliant salad. All sorts included in it: red chicory, avocado, courgette ribbons, asparagus, apple, grains, samphire, spring onion and pineapple ketchup. I topped mine with halloumi, great choice. The vegans were well catered for and enjoyed the butternut squash, rosemary and sage soup followed by the pea and asparagus risotto which they said was excellent. Service by Katy was good. A steady pace throughout and we had plenty of time to chat. Highly recommend a visit but suggest you book, seemed quite full on a Tuesday lunchtime.

First visit and wasn’t disappointed. Lovely place…. Very busy for a Tuesday evening. Food was great and service from MEG who was so attentive and cheerful. Will definitely be returning.

Food was great and the service from Jamie was brilliant-he even managed to remember each time what we had individually ordered 10/10 for him.

I have been too The Gate a few times with friends and as it was Mother’s Day and my mother had never been. I booked a table for us. The menu was amazing and food was enjoyed by us both. The highlight was when asked if I could take the Cheese and Biscuits home ( expected to come wrapped in tin foil ) instead it came lovely presented in a superb little box. I also love the cauli badges I hope the server’s wearing them were rewarded for the amount they sold ? With it also being busy the staff were attentive and very hospitable

The staff and service is one of a kind! Lisa one of the managers gave us excellent service! The chicken starters and the fish main was absolutely fantastic and will definitely be coming here again! (Just a reminder to register your car for parking 😉)

Graham is welcoming as you walk into the pub. The staff are all very friendly. The portions of the food were decent and the food delicious. The pub has a great atmosphere, both inside and outside.

Mia was so helpful on Tuesday evening. It was quiz night, which I didn't know, and it was very busy, but she helped me find a table, helped me with the Glass Onion app, and recommended food for me to eat.

Lisa and Ange welcoming and friendly and new menu great. Pork belly to die for.

22.3.25 Lovely food absolutely disgusted with the price of 2 drinks 1 was a soft drink vodka and coke single £9.50!!! Shame as food was lovely but now completely put me off returning shame as been many times your a pub dearer than miller and carter your not in London or a restaurant eill be contacting head office!

Just popped in for a quick bite to eat. The chicken wings and onion fries are excellent and great price. Staff really friendly. Tylor James and Liza were so friendly and helpful. Well done.

Graham behind the bar was very nice and helpful. The food was delicious, the waiting staff very good. Have eaten there a few times now and have not been disappointed.

First time attending this establishment. In which bar staff had a friendly and welcoming vibe. Interaction with graham was extremely questionable. Although given a complementary birthday bottle of prosecco. His presence left many of us feeling awkward. After being told jokingly or not to keep it down this behaviour was not echoed to others.

We had a very nice Sunday lunch here. Graham was very welcoming.

We had an extremely pleasant time at the Gate. we came in for a couple drinks, so i can’t comment on the food, but the service from the staff was both efficient and welcoming, in particular praise should go to the very hard-working bartender James.

went to a 70th birthday party last night and the staff just seemed stressed out and rude the whole night. food was mediocre to say the least and look at the cheese in a cheese sandwich from the buffet. the manager girl behind the bar was just rude and annoying

Dreadful meal , ordered the sirloin steak as they “didn’t” have any rump . I’m pretty certain what we received was in fact rump as it didn’t look or taste anything like sirloin and was extremely tough , so tough I gave up trying to eat it after two mouthfuls No sign of any onion rings, just a few scraps of burnt onion . When pointing out to the manager, if she was even the manager, she was very rude and dismissive and accused me of raising my voice , which was not true , despite trying to be heard over the very loud quiz going on . Will definitely not be returning anytime soon .

We booked lunch here to meet with family. It was the perfect location for us to meet not far from the M25. The staff were lovely, very polite and helpful. The food was excellent and we didn’t have to wait too long. We particularly liked the lasagna and sticky toffee pudding. We will definitely be back. Thank you!

Pub lunch with mum....This pub is an absolute standout! It offers a cosy atmosphere with warm, low to moderate lighting that enhances the ambiance. The staff and patrons are friendly and welcoming, making me feel right at home. The food is well-presented, delicious, and reasonably priced. The service of food was really swift. Despite the pub being busy, the bartender took the time to recommend a beer and assist us in finding a table that suited our preferences. I would highly recommend this pub and will definitely return. We visited today, had lunch. Food was so lovely, we had starters which was garlic bread with cheese its was amazing, breaded mushrooms where lovely too. Main I had the steak pie and it was beautiful loved it would have it again. The fish dish, with a selection of the breaded fishes was a little disappointing but it was fine, your better off with fish and chips or the posh fish and chips. The drinks and service was lovely and staff are so friendly, welcoming, I would highly recommend and we look forward to returning. Keep being amazing !!!!! Thank you for a lovely afternoon. Visited The Gate Northwood with my auntie and baby twins. We are enjoying the lovely experience, really lovely staff, very helpful. We ordered nachos, lasagna, fisherman catch, chocolate orange sponge & wine - all lovely. Premises is warm and welcoming with soft music and fires, nice atmosphere and clean toilets. After previous bad experiences, seems to be under new management and there is a huge difference, in a good way, will be visiting regularly now.
