Had coffee and a cream scone, the scones were not great, very heavy doughy and dry, either need a new recipe or a change of supplier, definitely don't buy a scone we wished we hadn't.

Poor experience and shocking quality and value for money. Ordered a coffee and a meal from the ‘Specials’ board which turned out to be far from special! I chose a Hunter Chicken Burger. I waited for ages although the restaurant wasn’t busy. When it arrived I took one look at it and thought it must have come from a KFC outlet! It comprised of the thinnest deep fried and crumbed chicken fillet with a slice of cheap cheese that was curling up at the edges and transparent! There was also some bacon with all the fat and rind still on it. Gross! The chips were hard and cold. Paid £12.95 for this and £3.40 for a black coffee. Sheer greed I’m afraid. Felt totally ripped off and won’t be returning.

Upon arrival the restaurant was heaving! Ordered our food which consisted of .. 1 x scampi & chips 1x tuna ciabatta 2 portions of chips 1x cheese and beans jacket potato After waiting absolutely ages (by this time the the restaurant was near empty) the food arrived and shocked was an understatement! The portion sizes are absolutely shocking for the price of each dish! Considering a jacket potato was nearly £10!! You'd expect a bit more than a TINY ramekin dish with a few strands of cheese and beans . The size of the little dishes that had the cheese ans beans in were the equivalent of a tablespoon! Absolutely shocking! The chips that were on thr plate with the scampi were bare minimum too. The prices of each dish were £9/10 each.. I am currently waiting for thr manager to call me back because after paying over £40 this us unacceptable. Wouldn't be coming back in a hurry that's for sure.

6 of us visited for the carvery, and we enjoyed it. Plenty of choice and giant home cooked Yorkshire Puddings. It was reasonably priced too at £11.99/12.99 large. The only reason I’m not giving it 5 star is the time it took to get to the carvery. First you have to queue for 15 mins to get a ticket, then again for 15-20 mins to get to the carvery station. It wasn’t really that busy either. Worth a visit but expect to wait a while.

Only two vegan items on the menu; the usual curry or burger. Why do these establishments think that this is a satisfactory choice. No vegan breakfast on offer

Food miniscule and expensive as some really good cafes now giving reasonably priced meals. Plates cold so chips rock hard. Few peas and scampi. Friends had poor Chinese. Coffee cold

Chinese banquet advertised until 3, git there at 2, having endured a long queue with slow servers only to find many of the food pots were empty with them not being refilled. We were told we should have got there earlier!!!!! As a result very over priced rice and vegetable stir fry with a couple of soggy pancake rolls. Definitely won’t be going back there

Very poor experience today, we specifically went for breakfast and my wife had the loaded breakfast omelette and I had the full English. This is always a busy restaurant given that it's within the Garden Centre however we were kept waiting for longer than you'd expect for a couple of breakfasts especially as we were served at the counter with 20 minutes of it opening. My breakfast was best described as mediocre. The sausage was dry and almost had a crunchy skin as if it had been left baking in an oven for too long, but it and the rest of the meal was barely warm and the beans were positively cold. They also forgot the tomato. The breakfast omelette looked nothing like the picture on the menu, the omelette itself was flat, cold and burnt, the sausage was the same overcooked but cold offering as mine. Very very poor.

This is a very busy restaurant however the system they have in place for ordering and paying is not up to the job. It’s very slow resulting in long queues no matter what time you visit. We had a trip out on a Sunday, they had run out of sandwiches so the choice was very poor unless you opted for a hot option. This was 1.30pm not anywhere near closing time. My partner queued for over 20 minutes for two sausage rolls and two cold drinks. They need to review this system and make improvements to make the customer’s journey more streamline, resulting in a better experience overall.

Unfortunately I've low rated our meal because we didn't enjoy it at all. We live locally and popped in for my birthday lunch. We ordered the vegetarian nut roast with our carvery. I'm sorry to say I could only eat, and enjoyed, the mash potatoes. The Yorkshire pudding was very dry and bland, the roast potatoes were tasteless, and the nut roast was full of some sort of fruity things, not nutty at all and tasted horrible (sorry). So I've given one star for the mash, and a star for the lady who served us as she was very nice and helpful. But I'm afraid we won't be having the carvery again. We were really looking forward to the meal, but very disappointed. (Photo of the 'fruit' roast).

Went for breakfast with the other half, our first visit. Big dining area, menus on tables & limited signage displaying breakfast offering. Found a table, made our selection then headed to the small counter to place & pay for my order. Small queue but was efficiently & politely served. Breakfast was bought out & it didn’t disappoint. We chose the Big Breakfast that included a hot drink. The breakfast was nicely presented & cooked to perfection. Great tasting, quality produce. Well worth its £10.49 price tag (which included a drink). On browsing through the menu I did find some choices pricey (plain jacket potato with butter £6.99!) but as I’m reviewing our breakfast I have nothing negative to say. Tables were cleared & cleaned promptly when customers left. All in all a good dining experience.

Visited for lunch on Wednesday and had the Regular Carvery. The food quality was very good throughout and it was reasonably priced too. The service was friendly and polite, but they probably need to switch things around when it becomes extremely busy to prevent long queues. Having the people on the tills also making the drinks would be fine when quieter, but in the peak period it may benefit having others make the drinks. Would definitely recommend for the quality of the food.

Came to the restaurant a year ago and wasn’t very impressed…. Thought we’d give it one more chance but nothing much had changed. All the staff we dealt with were lovely and I can’t fault the service but the food I’m afraid again was a let down. My mum is gluten free and always enjoyed the sandwiches especially the prawn when we came several years ago. It used to be presented cut in quarters and the prawns big and juicy. Now they can’t even be bothered to cut the sandwiches in half let alone in quarters and there’s no butter on the bread . The ham sand which this time had very little ham and they tried to make it up with too much lettuce and not much else. I had the scampi and the scampi itself was beautifully cooked and hot… the chips however and peas, what there was of them were barely warm and some were hard . Gone was the nice tub of tartare sauce and in its place a sachet. They have posh new menus but I think the money would have been better spent on teaching people how to send out well presented hot food. Shall not be returning for a third go!

Nice breakfast but woman on the till was very stern when we asked to remove egg, mushroom and tomato, and asked for a slice of bacon instead. Understandable that establishments don’t like to swap but there’s no need to be blunt with how you tell us. Service with a smile please brigg garden centre :)

Dropped in for tea with a slice of apple pie. The tea was good but so it should be at £4.80 for two!!! The pie was sadly very disappointing. Not fresh but frozen with a peculiar perfumie taste. The service was OK. Won't waste our money next time.

We used to visit regularly pre covid so today’s visit was the first in a while. I don’t know what’s happened but the food today was bland to say the least. We ordered a ham and a prawn sandwich platter. It just wasn’t as good as it used to be. This with two glasses of Diet Coke (£2 each) came to over £18. We wouldn’t rush back. On a positive note, the staff were lovely

The best "full English" that I have had for quite some time, my wife had a filled omelet which was a meal in itself. Excellent food very well presented by excellent staff. Another big plus for me was the fact that this restaurant has a separate dog friendly section so we don't have to eat with other peoples pets.

Stopped on the way to skegness for a break. Such a large site had a wander trying to find it. Food was served quick and was tasty. No decaf coffee offering which was disappointing. Could do with a menu of drinks. It said drinks on the board but didn't see it Fresh juice would also be nice. Approx 40 for 4 meals and drinks which is very reasonable. Would have liked a sweet breakfast option such as pancakes but very nice.

Having just visited this restaurant I'm very unsatisfied. Yes they have the "eat out to help out" but even at half price the food is not really worth it. The ladies at the till point we're lovely but the lady who brought out our food was not, it was as if it was all too much effort for her. Having gammon in a restaurant normally you would receive a cerated knife but we needed to ask for one and this proved a little hard for her, along with asking for salt and pepper we got told oh well the till staff should have given you that. A little smile wouldn't go a miss, even my 4 year old commented on her attitude. We will certainly not be returning.

Hmm surprised at the reviews as what I saw today 14/3/20 was staff pushed to their absolute limits no hygiene control between serving food/drinks and handling money. Dirty tables and the food was okay but was expensive for ‘just okay’ £4.95 a slice of cake (the were some cheaper options at the till), don’t think I would rush back, but it is obviously extremely popular with others.

There are 2 restaurants next door to each other within Brigg Garden Centre; the Gardeners Retreat (which seems to be just a carvery restaurant) and was incredibly hot and busy on the day we visited, and the Coffee Haven which is a light and airy cafe’/restaurant with a more relaxed atmosphere, and comfortable seating. We chose the Coffee Haven and found a table with big easy chairs. We ordered home-made tomato soup with chunky bread & butter. It was delicious. We also shared a huge mince pie (more of a tart really) which was attractively decorated with a pastry star and was extremely tasty. With hot drinks the bill was just under £16. We would definitely visit again.

We were at Brigg Garden Centre so decided to stay for lunch. Lots of good choice from the menu with some that a good for slimmers like us. I opted for jacket potato with beans and a side salad. It was hot and tasty and the spud was super soft. Had a latte which was hot and a very nice coffee. Overall I would definetly revisit and highly recommed a visit here.

If you have any self respect, you would not eat here. It’s a dive. Don’t get me started on how dirty the staff look either. One with a pair of blue jeans on like she’d just rolled in from school. This place used to be good when Christopher Mayne was the manager but has since evidently gone downhill. The new manager looks totally uninterested and like he is wasting his time by being there. When he served us, it felt like he was doing us a favour by pouring a pint. My husband also agreed on his rude attitude. We have also heard bad things about a particular chef who works in the kitchen??? Need I say anymore about the kind of people they are employing here.

Where to start, easy look elsewhere! We compared on Google & decided on this one as advertised free breakfast & wifi, well neither were an option well WIFI is in public area in pub not rooms, went down for breakfast at time suggested by welcome book & we should have prebooked also it was not included! We could pay extra so found a cheap cafe! Also NO hot water or heating on at night so had to use a small electric heater in subzero temps! Just got told it was a mistake by Google with regards to breakfast! Sadly won't be heading back didn't bother going back to try n mention about other issues as the staff didn't seem to bothered about the place.

Went for a celebratory birthday meal to the Sheffield Arms which had come highly recommended. We weren't disappointed. It was the best 'pub' meal I've had in years. Two had meals from the menu and two of us had the wonderful all you can eat carvery. Everyone enjoyed their meals (lasagne and Yorkshire Pudding wrap) but the carvery was exceptional. Great choice of vegetables, meats, sausages and the most gorgeous baby potatoes. The staff were great, very cheerful and friendly and the puddings were delicious too. I understand that the Sunday carvery has even more choice. We paid £9.95 for the carvery - brilliant value. The pub is beautifully decorated; of course it was busy but the service was excellent. It still retains a local feel but definitely book if you want a meal. Thank you!!!!
