Nice little pub on the outskirts of Bilton. Close to the Beryl Burton cycleway. Lovely to sit in the beer garden when the weather is nice and thereis plentyofseating. . Actual pub is small inside. Lots of regular patrons who can dominate certain seating areas. Bar staff lovely. No food served but great drinks on tap.

It's a proper pub, bar just big enough for one person, proper lounge, natural stone decor, it's like a time walk, walk through the door and get transported back to the 1930s and the better for it. Lovely garden. What a fantastic find while I was walking the dogs.

A sign clearly marked on the doorway entrance stating "no dogs, no children, no phones" , can't understand why as there is no soft furnishings in the pub, we had a drink (we were the only ones in the pub). considering this pub is close to a campsite with campers who quite often have dogs , children and maybe wanting to research of things to do / routes in the area on their phones over a pint then it's totally missing out on being busy. cirtainly lost out on £20-£40 worth of drinks from us on the Saturday because of this ☹️

I got a lovely warm welcome at this pub, now they take cards it’s a good option for a post-walk drink with the dog. It’s a really quaint old building with an interesting bar/hatch area. Sam Smiths pub. If you’re a fan of signs asking you not to do things, you’re in for a treat, there are signs everywhere about kids, dogs, phones, glasses, rules, which do detract somewhat from what could be a really welcoming experience. Get rid of some of these and you’re onto a winner.

Unreconstructed Sam Smith's pub with several tiny dark bars which must be very atmospheric in winter with open fires. In summer an enormous beer garden comes into play. The pub is situated in a green oasis of trees with a stream running around it. The setting is bizarre, near the end of a long road that passes through a modern housing estate. First time you go you think your satnav has made a mistake.
