Great food staff polite and friendly

Great tea,coffee and cake sun was shining and great service what more do you want in a tropical setting

Have been going to the garden center for many years now, an occasionally have a meal in the cafe, but yesterday will be the last time, the menu is very limited and the staff and kitchen weren't willing to accommodate a simple request for a bacon sandwich for lunch even though bacon is on the lunch menu, the food I had was bland and tasteless and over priced for the quality, not sure the vibe that there going for but the new dark dacor, it was like eating in the jungle in the dark, sorry to say we left very disappointed.

We came in for a drink at about 11.45 and decided to get food for our toddler, so ordered a full English for 1 adult 1 child. 5 minutes later we were told they were no longer serving breakfast and I’d need to get a refund and then go up to reorder from the lunch menu in 10 minutes, at 12. This didn’t make much sense because the same fry up was on the lunch menu but for 50p more.. so we asked if we could just keep the order the same. They initially said yes but we would need to go up and pay the 50p in 10 minutes time, then said we needed a refund and then to repay in full after. We had a hungry toddler with us so we didn’t bother eating and left our drinks because it was no longer an enjoyable experience but we were baffled at the fuss they made over 50p with no initiative to sort the problem. We presume it came from a grumpy chef refusing to do it because a waitress took an order at the wrong time, but surely you’d just honour the sale and get on with it so that you don’t get a bad reputation… very basic customer service

Well prepared and presented range of snacks,meals and drinks. Great cake selection - not to be missed. Staff are very friendly and efficient despite it generally being busy.Seating available both indoors and out ( Inc under cover) Bonus is that well mannered dogs are welcome. Loyalty card system in operation

Popped in for lunch as we were picking up a couple of plants. Had the cottage pie which was of ample proportions and nice and hot 🔥. Only slight criticism is that the peas were a bit insipid ... prefer fresh/garden peas. The restaurant was very busy and hence quite noisy. The lovely staff were working their socks off to fulfill the orders .

A good, middle-of-the-road experience.

Simple garden centre café. Pretty full menu, quick and friendly service, chilled atmosphere. Dogs allowed (noisy ones outside). Meals were tasty and reasonably priced. Could have cooked my bacon a little more but I like it crispy!

Nice place, Cafe was busy. Ordered Two Flat Whites and two Toasted Teacakes. Coffee was nice but the Teacakes were very, very lightly toasted and they were chewy. I cannot recommend them. Not at all nice. The dough seemed to have been overworked before baking.

Whilst I like the staff, and food is excellent…..I and my friends booked for Afternoon Tea today…..we weren’t told till we got there that you don’t do Afternoon Tea! Cream Tea, yes but NOT Afternoon tea! So we were there under false pretences……. Then to be told we could have any Chiabatta as a sandwich, then a scone with cream nd jam and a piece/cake……hardly the same and twice the price of a Hotel Afternoon tea! I really think you are missing an opportunity here, it is very popular these days!

Super friendly and welcoming service team and fantastic food.

We hit the cafe dead on dinnertime at 12:30. There wasn't a spare table as they were so busy and staff did all they could do get us seated and we're very kind and friendly. Service was quick, staff were happy to answer questions about the menu and also make changes if needed. The food arrived and meals were thoroughly enjoyed by all. The meals are well priced. It may not be somewhere I'd think of as a first choice to eat and didn't know what to expect... but after going and enjoying our meal like we did.... We all said we'd go back again. Staff will do anything to help, what we liked, we didn't feel like we had to rush our food and leave because people needed tables or they was closing. So we was able to enjoy our food, chat to staff and also other customers.... And relax. Everyone that came into the cafe was friendly.... Even our furry friends are allowed in. The staff have treats for dogs too. If you can manage a cake too... You won't be disappointed. 😀 All in all a lovely afternoon. This is a cafe where you go and can have a chat... Meet some friendly dogs... Enjoy your food and enjoy the buzz of people coming in and out and staff saying hello and being welcoming. If you want a quiet meal meal with your other half check for quieter times. This is very much a family cafe where you can take everyone and everyone will be well looked after.

Excellent venue, food and service.

Had chilli jacket potato very small portion for £7.90 also felt like we weren’t trusted to pay as before we got our meal the waitress came over with the card machine saying you might as well pay now after paying then we was allowed our meal l thought this was extremely rude & l won’t be calling in again shame as within walking distance.

Very wet amd windy Saturday lunch time.... it was packed and the staff incredibly busy but food delicious and presented beautifully.. even the pup had a fuss .... thank you we highly recommend 👍

In for lunch,very busy. A very good varied menu and reasonably priced. Very friendly and helpful staff. Also you can have a takeaway of there cake. Breakfast menu before 11.30pm and lunch menu after that.

Went there for late lunch very friendly staff and nice sheltered outside area to sit...dogs are allowed on leads and they have doggy ice cream which our Retriever liked alot!

Had breakfast and Sunday roast here. Best breakfast around, cooked to perfection. Friendly and welcoming staff. Plenty of tables indoors and out! Roast chicken was great too!

As usual, good food and friendly staff. Very disappointed with coffee. I ordered flat white and wanted a big hit so went large. It’s a drink that should not really be large so anyone who has this on menu does not know what a flat white is - I should have known better. What came was a regular flat white filled up with water! Flat white is expresso and foamed milk - adding water to double volume makes a totally different drink! Yuck when expecting expresso. So a large expresso is an expresso with water added?! 🤣🤣🤣. Been back a few times and food always good. The eating spaces are varied, inside, just outside or down the steps amongst some plants etc. Latter is my favourite - lots of open space, under cover and the occasional visiting bird enjoying the space as well. Prices are good, £14 for double sausage egg and chips with large bottle of beer. Sunday lunch under £10! Not bad when you consider Birdies now charging £19 for crab sandwich! Well worth a visit just to eat, but also plenty to look at for garden and masses of parking.

Unimpressed. Went during a busy period so expected a wait.. But for others behind us to be seated because they cant acomodate a wheelchair is shocking!! And to be told that they dont know when they will be able to fit us in after waiting in a long que is not on just because of a wheelchair !!!!

Nice friendly women. Cake looked nice but was absolutely horrible. Sickly tasteless synthetic. I am greedy but started feeling sick after a few mouthfuls and left most of it.

What can you say oh my goodness we had a cream tea and my hubby rolled me out! It was amazing beautifully baked scones hats of whoever made them they are literally the best I've tasted 😁😋

A great place for a cooked breakfast!! My partner and I stopped in on a rainy day and we were so warm and satisfied after enjoying 2 cooked veggie breakfasts and lots of tea! Great shopping on the store as well. Thank you!

With the current COVID problems this establishment is doing a fine job , didn’t have table booked but were provided with a table outside under the large canopy which provided good shelter from the rain giving us great sound effects. Selection of Food good all-round including great vegetarian options service spot on .

I have visited the cafe before lockdown and would have rated it at 5 stars. Today, was a massive disappointment and worry. The staff, as always were polite and helpful. It is the Covid cleanliness that has made it just 1 star today. On arrival all tables appeared to be clean with either a reserved post on them and a notice saying they were covid clean or just a notice saying covid clean. I watched 2 tables be cleared and cleaned. Both tables were quickly wiped down with a cloth - no spray was used on the table, chairs or surrounding area. The edges of the tables ( an area that is touched often ) wasn't even wiped. In addition the loo sink had no hot water. I mentioned this to a member of staff who was pleasant and explained that it is unsafe as the water is too hot and it's been out of use for a while awaiting repair. I find this unacceptable when we are in the middle of a pandemic and the best way to stop contamination is to wash our hands in hot soapy water.
