I recently visited here with my mum and 4 year old son. We arrived and waited a while to be seated (it wasn't particularly busy) the menus arrived and we decided we only wanted a coffee and one of the cookie's my son had seen in the display fridge. The price was very steep but we were going to stay, the waitress took a while to return to take our order however I don't think they wanted our money as we were told my son couldn't have the cookie as it was for takeaway customers only. 🤷‍♀️ so if we had drank the coffees in the shop and put the cookie in a bag and ate it when we left we could have it?? This makes absolutely no sense. We left so they actually sold nothing. Will not be returning.

Lovely atmosphere and great service, but it used to be better. Breakfast is very overpriced for what you get. Their "full breakfast" costs £14, for which you get: 1 slice of toast 1 fried egg (no options) 1 slice of black pudding 1 sausage 1 rasher of bacon 1 small ramekin of beans 1 mushroom the size of a mini disc (remember those? 😆) Disappointing.

I came here for breakfast with my friend. From the get go the waitress was very rude. The table we were seated on was in the middle so it was very awkward. It was also dirty which is visible in the picture on the left hand side. After being seated you would expect your menus straight away, but for some reason it took forever for her to give us the menus. And then it took forever again for her to take our order. Which was upsetting because she was assisting everyone else but us. And when we would try call her over she would tell us to wait. I don’t know if it’s because both me and my friend are people of colour but it was very uncomfortable. This was also our first restaurant experience in wales so it left a bitter taste. Food was okay nothing wow or special. But the unpleasant service made us leave straight away. It’s just a shame it’s a nice establishment but you have staff who don’t have customer service skills. I would not recommend any tourist to go here. Our waitresses name is Sophie R.

We came here first for wreath making and it was amazing all round. The ladies there were so welcoming and we had a glass of bubbles when we arrived. They helped us put it all together and we had a lovely time. We then seen they do Sunday roasts. So we came for the dinner and had 2 courses for £24 which is amazing value for money. Again very welcoming and lovely atmosphere. Staff are really lovely and the roasts were amazing! The deserts were also stunning. Will definitely be returning. Love the inside decor and lots of lovely bits to buy. We couldn’t resist in buying these mugs.❤️ Thank you ☺️

First of all I have to say the person who served me initially was great and very welcoming. For me the place seemed to be trying to be this niche , smart sophisticated place and it looks great etc but logistic wise completely ridiculous that I could pay for my takeaway latte in the restaurant part( which was certainly over priced and nothing special) but then had to pay for my deli purchase at the shop till!! Which makes no sense at all.The deli product had been reduced and I just had a funny feeling I was going to have that moment when I’d have to say it should be 50% off …. And low and behold that’s exactly what happened when I went to the shop till ( which luckily didn’t have a queue ) because it scanned at full price and how is the person at the shop till suppose to know it’s discounted when as she said it doesn’t come up as there was no half price barcode etc and luckily she just took my word for it …. So great looking place but over priced takeaway drink and not a great system for paying for food items

One of my fave new places ,I love the choc chip n banana cake they sell at the shop side aswel as all the miniature unusual gifts they have ,love how they theme it out to the max for every occasion ,the decor in this place is just bang on aswel as the shop sides display of plants and succulents, there’s not a very big selection of plants n wat they do have is very pricey ,but the mini succulents are reasonably priced ,also to my absolute delight being a gardener n an avid garden centre shopper found they did sell quite a large selection of air plants ! Quite hard to find …but they’ve not had any since before Xmas ,over at the cafe side the pies were very tasty,I don’t like pies and I ate two !

The Garden Kitchen by Pugh's: A Partner's Lament (or, How My Partner's Brunch Trauma Became My Personal Vendetta) My partner, a beautiful and gentle soul who wouldn't harm a fly (unless it was trying to steal her meticulously crafted salad), recently ventured into the hallowed halls of The Garden Kitchen by Pugh's. She emerged, two and a half days later, still radiating the kind of simmering rage usually reserved for supervolcanoes and people who wear socks with sandals. Let me tell you, I've seen her less perturbed by a swarm of wasps at a picnic. It all started with a poached egg. Now, my partner is a poached egg aficionado. She whips them up at home with the casual grace of a Michelin-starred chef. Apparently, The Garden Kitchen, in their infinite wisdom, have decided that the only way to poach an egg is to bathe it in vinegar. Vinegar! The very word makes her lip curl. She claims it tastes "like a pickled egg's tragic backstory." And, as if that culinary crime wasn't enough, this vinegary assault is apparently a gluten-intolerant's nightmare. So, thanks, Garden Kitchen, for catering to… absolutely no one? But the egg-gate was just the beginning. Oh no. Next came the Great Cake Conspiracy. My partner and her friend, lured by the siren call of brownies, custard slices, and apple turnovers (the kind of baked goods that whisper sweet nothings of happiness), were informed, with the abruptness of a waitress who thinks she's a drill sergeant, that these delectable treats were for "take out" only. Take out?! They were sitting in the establishment! Were they supposed to grab a brownie and sprint for the exit like they'd just robbed the place? The staff member, clearly a disciple of Gordon Ramsay's school of charm, declared the place was "more of a restaurant." A restaurant that refuses to serve its most enticing desserts to its seated patrons? It’s like a car dealership refusing to sell cars, insisting they're "more of a parking lot." Two and a half days. That's how long I've been living with the fallout. I’ve had to endure detailed descriptions of each forbidden pastry, the phantom smell of vinegar clinging to the air, and dramatic reenactments of the "take out only" pronouncement. I’ve even started having nightmares where I’m trapped in a maze made of raspberry crumble flapjacks (apparently as hard as bricks, avoid at all costs), chased by a giant, vinegary poached egg. She can't stop making phone calls and telling everyone about her visit to your establishment. So, Garden Kitchen by Pugh's, here's the deal: you've created a monster. A hangry monster. Two and a half days of poached egg trauma and "take out only" brownie blues. I'm not saying I'm going to chain myself to the counter demanding cake equality, but... well, maybe I am. Just kidding (mostly). But seriously, vinegar eggs? No sit-down brownies? You're playing a dangerous game, Pugh's. A very dangerous game. Consider this my official brunch-partner declaration of... mild annoyance. And a deep, abiding craving for a brownie. For sitting down. Just sayin'.

I stopped coming here with family and friends due to a change in menu and chef. It had always been a favourite for a vegetarian breakfast, but they can now only cook a poached egg in vinegar!! Which is not a nice taste. I've been cooking poached eggs at home for years and never needed to use vinegar. Vinegar is no good for gluten intolerance. My friend and I thought we would give it a try after 6 months absence for just a cuppa and a cake. As we were looking and choosing from all the yummy brownies, custard slices, apple turnovers etc we were told by the lady behind the counter, that they were for "take out" only and not for eating in. She said we could only choose from the sponge cakes. When I asked why, she was quite abrupt and said that the place was more of a restaurant!!! The so called restaurant (know as a coffee shop) previously used to serve all the brownies etc. It makes no sense. The whole time we were there, not one person bought any take out brownies. What a waste. On the plus side, the waiting staff are very nice. Ps avoid the raspberry crumble flapjack as it was as hard as a brick.

Good location, just off M4 J27 or J28, but parking can be challenging as it’s next door to Co-Op so shared car park or park on the road . Staff very welcoming and quickly find you a table. We had breakfast here and the experience was disappointing. The Full English was extremely dry. From the toast through the beans to the sausage. All dry. The toast was really tough and hard to chew and arrived cold. I tried to soak it in the beans to soften it up a bit, but the beans had hardly any sauce. The best I can say is that the eggs arrived hot. For a breakfast at the steeper price end of £13, I expected better. My partner had the American Pancakes with bacon and said it was really good and pancakes were fluffy, hence the 3 stars.

The shop/cafe is really cute and different from your typical cafe. I had pancakes and bacon, which I found to be lovely. However, other parties in our group had the English breakfast, which they said the toast was quite tough, and the food was cold when it was served. Just a below average breakfast that could be improved upon, which would then leave a favourable lasting impression.

Great food, lovely venue, although, the bench seating is honestly the most claustrophobic, uncomfortable, awkward and extremely painful to sit in. I understand I am in the minority here but I live not far from Pughs and go in there fairly regularly as a coffee fanatic. I have bought from the shop also. However, the staff need training on customer service. I counted 12 members of staff in there yesterday, most doing very little, I also heard one of the staff swearing. Service is consistently slow and I have decided to stick to The Nook for my coffees in future! Such a shame as the food in Pughs is nice and the coffee is good too. However, for the prices they charge, service is horrendous. Today I went in to get coffees and pies 🥧 for my dinner, but after being ignored and standing round like a lemon, I fail to see why this place is so popular.

Food was really good, but service extremely slow. It wasn’t busy there and all staff just hanging around the till chatting. We had to call someone to serve us and then the drinks were very slow. Nobody seemed to be supervising the youngsters. Such a shame as the food was lovely when it came

Played pool against the team, always enjoys going there, however being epileptic, if manager isn't there, I find it hard to go into the pub

What type of pub has 3 gamblers plugged in all day with nobody using them, but paying customers are not allowed to charge their phone due to energy costs. You can charge your phone on public transport but can't in your local pub, what a joke.
