Food was alright but service was poor. Server rushed us and was moody. Brought us out wrong drinks and just dropped food in front of us. Wouldn’t recommend

I always enjoyed the place. At my last visit though, what was before in the menu as vegan burger (and was common to any other restaruants nowadays - a high protein equivalent), after recent brief 'out of stock' situation, it got replaced by a highstreet "fried chicken"&chipshops version of a veggie burger for last 20 years+, which is a mash of potatoes, peas, carrots and some bell pepper, ecompassed by breadcrumbs and fried. Together with a bun, few potato wedges, and a handful of salad (with at least one pinch of salt too much over it - so oversalted), mot only it represented next to no nutritional value, but with it's ingredients summing up to ~£3 in total value, they still want to charge you the full price of the previous dish under the same label (~£15). After highlighting the issue of unreasonable cheat (large tesco is literally round the corner, with at least 4 or 5 different full fledged alternatives of the vegan burger to use), noone even thought of taking that 'cheat dish' off my bill, but all I could hear was "I hope you'll come again".

The restaurant is inside the Penzance hotel, and we used it as hotel guests! It is advisable to book in advance! The place is very nice and you can enjoy a beautiful view!! The service is very professional and kind! The food is very good!! The atmosphere is relaxing, excellent for spending an evening with friends or as a couple!!

Highly recommend the festive menu during Christmas holiday. We enjoyed every single course for our family's Boxing Day dinner.

We visited the beautiful restaurant yesterday and we left really dissapointed. I work in a good restaurant myself and it was one of the worst restaurant-visits I‘ve ever had. I won’t spend a lot of time, writing a whole paragraph, here‘s a list: - 1/2 of the menu wasnt avaible or got changed - had to wait 50 minutes for the main course (almost empty restaurant) - two tables came after us (15-20 minute) ordered after us and got their food before us - no excuse - nobody asked if the food was alright - half way through the menu (~9:10pm) the chef de service asked us if we wanted to order the dessert cuz the kitchen was closing -> this was unbelievable for us because we had to wait for so long and then got stressed to finish our meal to order our dessert ! we told him the same and he just answered with „yeah sorry about that“, and left. - as soon as we wanted to pay, nobody gave payed attention to any of our signs - food was good. - they took the drinks off our bill - nobody had the guts to say goodbye to us, they just completely ignored us as soon as we payed. horrible experience and we will never visit again.

We absolutely loved it on a quiet Wednesday in July. The room is beautiful and it's all very comfortable. There are great views. We had fantastically friendly service. And, most importantly, the food was lovely. Strongly recommend the seafood platter. The sizzling brownie and tres leches cake were both fantastic. Drinks perhaps a bit expensive but overall we paid £60ish for two people (mains and desserts), which was well worthwhile for a lovely evening out.

Don’t let the outside fool you. Inside is modern and very beautifully decorated. We found this restaurant via Google Maps as we struggled to find nice restaurants in Penzance that day. Service is good as members of staff were friendly and they always checked in on us. Only downfall is that we felt the mussels were a bit over cooked so it wasn’t that nice but the flavour was good. There also wasn’t anyone at reception to greet us, and it got a bit awkward when we said we were here as we had a dinner reservation and I had to say, can we go to the restaurant, and is the restaurant that way? It would’ve been nice if she lead us the way first. Salad is very nice, I would come here again for the salad and ambience.

The best breakfast in Penzance! Went here for breakfast and was not disappointed.. truly delicious and a beautiful view. Definitely a must for visitors and locals alike.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at a wonderful restaurant that I simply must recommend to anyone in search of a great meal with fantastic service and a stunning view. The restaurant's location is simply unbeatable, situated right by the sea with a breathtaking view that truly adds to the dining experience. As for the food, I can honestly say that I was blown away by the quality and flavor of everything I tried. From the appetizers to the entrees to the desserts, each dish was expertly crafted and presented with care. The flavors were bold and delicious, and everything was cooked to perfection. But what truly sets this restaurant apart is the exceptional service. Ashima ( our waitress) was friendly, knowledgeable, and eager to ensure that my experience was a memorable one. From the moment I sat down to the moment I left, I felt truly cared for and attended to. I would like to say thanks to Rohit ( the Chef ) for his delicious food and coming to our table for the our birthday celebration. Overall, I cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough. The location, the food, and most importantly, the service, are all simply outstanding. I'm a coeliac (gluten free) and this was the worst experience of my life. GF options were listed on the menu and we had put the allergy in our booking notes too but somehow they still served me food with gluten TWICE and we were told that the food marked 'GF' was in fact not gluten free... Oh, and they wouldn't accept the voucher that they told us at the start of the meal would cover everything! a horrible experience. it was only because my wife interrogated the waiters at every step of the process, REPEATEDLY, that I was saved from being very ill. please don't visit here if you have an allergy as they seemingly don't care at all.

Lovely setting where you can look out to the harbour. Waitress was very cheerful and friendly offering a good welcome and fast service. We had Cornish steak and Linguini which was excellent. You can make 10 min walk from Harbour car park to use up some calories and take in the view. Definitely recommend.

I cannot recommend this place enough. They view is amazing both inside and oustide the restaurant especially if you take a sit nexx to a window or in the balcony which faces the swimming pool for the hotel and the harbour. The three girls who work there were super welcoming and helpful, cannot thank them enough for making our birthday dinner and surprise remarkable. Besides, if you want a place that is not too busy and enjoy the chat with your family, this is definitely the best choice. Is also romantic ❤️☺️.

Very average food. Also had a waiter make a small remark when I, a female, was paying the bill rather than my boyfriend.

Fast and friendly service from the wait staff. We ordered the 2 course fixed price meal of pork shank with a side of vegetables and fries. The veggies comprised of peppers with zucchinis. The pork was a bit tough but slathered in gravy. The Onion soup was very good with the right amount of sweetness. Fries were over cooked, notice the burned bits in the image. Meal for two with no desert or alcohol 55 pounds. A 10% service charge was applied to the bill automatically. In conclusion, it was a good meal and well presented.

We had an evening meal here (2 of us) which was nice, although there could have been more mash with the pork shoulder. Breakfast, my traditional breakfast had two eggs, but only half a rasher of bacon. Asked for some brown sauce and was told it was only available during the evening! The Longship Inn down the road is better value.

We went for our delayed aniversary dinner. Food was good but as Micky Flannigan says the ambienccce was not good. Big crowd of 45 people from a coach trip took their seats and it was deafening. Service was good but I wish we had been made aware when we booked that they were having a large group in. Left early.

Excellent quality food and service

The location and scenery is lovley. The food was well cooked, well presented and of great quality, absolutely delicious. Parking is extremely limited, so our advice is get there by alternative means.

Joke, cannot taste any alcohol in the cocktails and loaded with ice, they could use a smaller glass and less ice. Under seasoned fish, pork shoulder so small, not enough of a portion to give my partner any for a try!! Forgot to bring our sides out, £70 later, still need a decent drink and some more food!! Guys seriously go somewhere else and avoid this place

After a hiccup with a breakfast reservation this morning, the staff more than made up for the error in communication with a last minute evening meal booking. The service was impeccable, they couldn't have been more apologetic, and the food was just as good as the views! Overall great experience, and would highly recommend to anyone in the penzance area

Pretty restaurant over looking the sea, friendly service and nice food.

Whilst the food was delicious, I asked for the plain rice with one meal (offered as a vegan option) instead of egg fried rice, as I cannot eat egg, only to be brought egg fried rice anyway. When I pointed this out, they took it back and rectified this, during this time my partner ate his food, then had to wait whilst I ate mine. After finishing our mains, we waited over half an hour for our plates to be cleared, virtually no apology was made for the screw up with my main, and we had intended to stay for dessert, but none was offered, I assume the kitchen was closed, but since our late finish was not our fault, I felt a little jaded that they didn't offer.

Lovely location and great food but two issues: we had booked table for 7 outside. It was raining so they placed us in a room away from rest of the guests. we might as well have eaten at our hotel. Also, whilst food was good the portion was tinny and expensive. I had green curry and so did my brother-in-law and the portions was so small that we both left the place hungry.

I had dinner as a guest at the hotel this restaurant is in. The food was amazing and the team were lovely. My only suggestion is to please up the options of wine by the glass. An English Sparkling or a champagne would be ideal.

Lovely food and staff was fantastic and helpful in everyway

We visited here in a rainy evening. Make sure bring your umbrella as there is about 10mins walk from the train station. There is a nice view to the harbour and the coast (not much for us as it rained quite heavily). Dinner come as 2,3,4 course meal. Mains and the desserts are nice.

Ooh fabulous afternoon tea , made reservations and even reserved a carpark space for us , beautiful table looking over the swimming pool and harbour, I got a complimentary glass of champagne for my birthday and we had full indulgence tea , all fresh and tasty and plenty of tea or coffee , fantastic value for money too , we will return and recommend.

The garden restaurant was lovely really nice food and the staff very efficient and friendly.

We had such a wonderful meal here. Everything was delicious and the staff were very friendly, helpful and attentive. The Duck Bao bun was fantastic and we had incredible views of the Harbour from our table. Would highly recommend if you’re in Penzance!

Good quality food if a bit of a weirdly mixed menu. Staff seem fairly new and a bit inexperienced, though very friendly. Atmosphere very much a hotel restaurant, seemed very sterile, but amazing view!

- Awful scones (soggy and bicarbonate of soda flavour) - overpriced - poor view and aged decor - below average service Overall would not reccomend. Better of going to one for the Tea houses in Penzance

Visited the Garden Bar & Restaurant yesterday evening with my wife and we both thoroughly enjoyed our evening. Lovely food with beautiful food and very attentive and courteous staff.

Lovely welcoming staff. Just called in on the off chance for a Cream Tea. Super service and great views and dog friendly. Highly recommend.

Great value for money! The food was very tasty. Staff are mostly pleasant, apart from one 'no nonsense' waitress. There were no vegan options for dinner, but the chef prepared a lovely selection of vegetable dishes for my delicious breakfast.

We booked a table on a Thursday evening. No time slot was given at the time of the reservation nor it was mentioned when we got seated. The menu is restricted, the prices are confusing and doesn’t allow you to have 2 starters instead of a main. Few minutes after ordering a 2nd bottle of wine a rude grumpy waitress came to me saying: « it’s already 1h40 you are here. are you now gonna order dessert we need your table back ...» the bottle of wine wasn’t even touched since it was still chilling in the ice bucket. We then order a dessert, once finished the host came with a tray and move us to an empty room without any atmosphere nor music. (It was 7 empty table in the restaurant and the social distancing was more than what suggested by the government ) It really felt like they were trying to park us away from others. When we mentioned our frustration to our waiter, the « owner » (we assumed) walked into the room and say firmly to his waiter to explained us about the law and the rules due to COVID. (Not even he has acknowledged us) It was still 8.15 and no other booking came in nor a walk-in (kitchen last order was 8.45) What was suppose to be a beautiful night out résume to be a disappointment. I will not recommend anyone this place. Do not spend your money there, they don’t deserve it.

Ousoutstanding value for money with there set price courses. Good service, good food, and a nice looking place. The hotel Penzance in which the resturant is situated is also a great hotel.

Restaurant looks out over the harbour in Penzance. Our food was delicious with some interesting twists. Service was good but unobtrusive. A very pleasant evening.

Had a superb evening meal here. Cannot fault the service or the food and drinks. We had a lovely table overlooking Mount's Bay and the restaurant had a lovely relaxed atmosphere. Would definitely recommend.

Midweek dinner for two. Very Covid safe with staff all in shields or masks, and we were sat at a safe distance from other dinners. A lovely menu of interesting food, very fresh and lots of seafood with a Thai influence in some dishes. Fixed menu prices which we liked, you can see it online. The meal was well presented and appropriate portions for the richness of the food. And lovely views too!

Lovely place, great views over the bay from the restaurant, excellent food and great service. Nice to have the manager ask if things are OK randomly! Lovely evening out, was quiet in March, usually much busier, be sure to book to avoid disappointment!

The best meal I had in Penzance!!! They offered me a complimentary starter: deep fried shrimp with their special sauce. I ordered shallops and lamb cutlets. All the food tasted fresh and great!!!

Lovely homely Victorian Town House with a modern chique restaurant overlooking their pool, Penzance harbour and Mounts Bay. Great food, great service. One of my top favourites. I've had membership of their dining club for years. Highly recommended.

Decent food - could have been better for the price paid

Really disappointing.... went to have a quiet diner with friends and got turned down with an explanation of not having tables and shortest wait going to be 2 hours (though there was plenty empty tables). Called later to double check if they actually have space, and aparently they did. Only 30min wait. I'd like to know on what ground they didn't wanted us there? Felt really discriminatory.

We were staying at the Penzance Hotel, and ate breakfast and dinner in The Bay restaurant. Breakfast was amazing! Full english and pancakes, plus cereals and fruit, etc. All cooked to perfection and presented beautifully. The full english wasn't greasy at all and eggs were perfect. Dinner was just as good, we ate from a set menu which was delicious and good value for money. We weren't visiting during the high season though so I'm not sure if this is always available.

Took friends here last night as a thank you was very disappointed food was not worth the money wish we hadn't bothered . Service poor do not wish to return .

Perfect place in a perfect evening

We went in to have a dinner without being stopped or otherwise acknowledged. After 15 minutes wait I decided to go to a bar and asked for the menu cards, just to be told we cannot be served until 2 hrs later. No explanation was given. The restaurant wasn't full, so not sure what the reason was. Poor reception by any standards

Good restaurant,but it is noticeable that prices have increased whilst portion sizes have greatly reduced and all additional veg is highly priced. Not exactly value for money?
