Good service, nice vibes, live music or DJ often on. The food though, celiac friendly, super tasty with a good variety. A hidden gem on Gloucester Road (food wise that is)

Great roasts for a 60th birthday meal. Everyone loved their meals. Gluten and dairy allergy requirements were handled really well. Members of staff were very friendly and helpful. Nice coffee too.

Really like the pub but had the Korean food earlier today from the Sky Kong Kong pop up. Was excited to try it but the Korean fried chicken was very sweet and quite disappointing. Also the hot dog was almost inedibly salty. Real shame

Went here for the Sky Kong Korean food, but it was unfortunately disappointing. I had the tteokbokki with fishcakes and the veggie tempura, hoping I could dip it in the sauce as is traditional in Korea. The tteokbokki came out served as a broth, so very watery and didn't stick to the rice cakes at all. It also tasted pretty bad, sweet and spicy, but without any acidity or salt to balance it. The tempura was average, matchsticks of veg cut so thin it was difficult to tell what you were eating, mainly batter. It was crispy tho so not a complete fail. The staff/ atmosphere and price were all good, just a shame the food was such a let down .

The staff were friendly and it’s a beautiful pub but the food was very disappointing we ordered a Korean hot dog which only had about 3cm of hot dog in it and was covered in sugar. We then ordered the kimchi which came warm and flavourless along with that the Korean fried chicken was closer to sugar fried chicken as it was chicken in a sugar sauce.

The Korean food was oversold corn dogs were covered in sugar and had 3cm of actual hot dog inside. All the food was unbelievably too sweet in general. The place looks nice though.

Had a really lovely lunch here - Korean pop up kitchen was fantastic. Super dog friendly - we weren’t sure if dogs were allowed inside, but they are. Looked after us really well.

The Gallimaufry is a stand-out restaurant and pub on Gloucester Road with great food and atmosphere.

£8.50 for a glass of white wine that tastes like urine. Cider is alright tho

This pub had a decent amount of interesting drinks and a good outside seating out front which which was good. But the inside feels a little cramped and the drinks are on the more pricey side for pints. But that's not a problem if you've got the money for it. The bar staff was extremely friendly and helpful.

Great venue. I always seem to hear great music here. The decor in the gally is busy, eccentric, and pleasing on the eye.

Is a decent venue but unfortunately one of the musicians was too drunk and decided to try and pick a fight with my friend after overhearing a snippet of his conversation with my partner. Wasn't handled well by the security and bar staff who accused me of being aggressive when I explained that he had come over to us and picked a fight. Seems like if you are performing there you can treat the punters however you please and the staff will have your back/try to intimidate whoever you take a dislike to on a whim.

Fun pub with a good drinks selection and interesting food menu. We went early on a Friday evening and found a seat easily outside. The hummus and bread was generous for the price and really tasty with a crunchy chickpea topping. Would love to pop by for more food sometime.

I have been here a number of times for a drink. I came here last year to see a concert. I will likely come here again if I want a drink. The only negative thing I came say about this venue is that it can get very loud inside. Fortunately, they do have seating upstairs which is slightly quieter.

Oh wow where to start? The best Sunday lunch I’ve had in years (and I cook a mean Sunday lunch myself!) The braised beef, a lovely surprise under the deliciously tender medium rare generous roast slice, was succulent, savoury, more-ish - and I’d love to have the recipe!!! The seasonal vegetable selection was fresh, beautifully cooked, plentiful and varied - I counted at least five veggies as well as brilliant roasties. The yorkshires weren’t as crisp as I’d like but they were massive and tasty. I don’t ‘do’ dessert - lol - but when I read the description of the lemon curd, raspberry and shortbread pot I “gave in” and didn’t regret it!! Delicious end to a remarkable Sunday lunch!!

I have to say the place is really nice ! Staff customer service was a letdown, to be honest ! No interaction between us. There was more interaction amongst themselves. they should ask if you are finished with your glass instead of just moving it without saying anything!! Staff could do with a uniform or even T Shirts as at times you could not differentiate between them and the customers. Only one cider on tap is not good. I was watching numerous queues at the bar, and it wasn't overly busy. Props to the DJs playing vinyl 👏 I will definitely go back as I need to try the food and cocktails.

Absolutely delicious Roast, in my opinion the best in Bristol. Having been to The Bank Tavern previously and been underwhelmed I still don't understand the waiting list, I would say don't bother get to the Galli you won't be disappointed. Compliments to the Chef and their team.

Met a cute guy in there and the lady let me slither off with a free olive, she knows what time it is. Queen behaviour by any standard.

We came here on a Sunday afternoon for a roast after hearing a good recommendation from my friend who lives locally. The inside was colourful with a unique decor. The staff were friendly and welcoming. My only complaint was that we ordered and it took a lengthy time for the food to arrive. However, the food was worth the wait as the generous portions were all delicious and cooked beautifully. The roast beef was one of the best I've ever had!

Roast potatoes & gravy are unreal. £6-7 for a pint might make you tear up getting a round in.

I really wanted to like this place but maybe my pallette is refined enough for what they offer. The food looks lovely and I'm hoping for the expensive price it's all fresh etc. but I just have an issue on spending so much money on small portions in what is essentially a pub.

Food here is always excellent! The only thing that was a slight negative is how loud and rowdy it is if you go for food on a Saturday!

Had the beef roast here yesterday, was very impressed. Best roast I can remember having for a very long time if not ever. Worth the price for sure.

Great events, music is always groovy! First time having the Sunday roast today; a HEARTY portion. Expensive but delivers. Slow roasted Lamb was excellent. Gravy, full of oomph. Staff were lovely. My company thought the service was slow which was probably why the vegetables (red cabbage, two carrots and three peas) and potatoes weren’t singing songs of flavour. The potatoes lacked the fluffiness I’m after in the perfect ‘Tater. A cauliflower cheese is our litmus test for a good roast and so far, the best we’ve had in Bristol. Would go again

Superb Sunday lunch- the roast chicken was moist and tasty and the lamb perfectly cooked. Excellent service with a really tasty Italian red wine from Sardinia 'appessiemento style' Excellent value.

Great venue, tried here for some drinks and it was a great experience. I love the interior, it's unique and keeps you wondering about some of the art. Recommended and would definitely visit again

Such a vibrant atmosphere and love the ceiling decor. We were there for drinks - bit noisy if you want a quiet chat, but we enjoyed the buzz about the place.

Absolutely fantastic roast! I don't go out for roasts very often but very glad we went here, the roast beef was amazing and as well as the roast beef joint there is brisket on the plate which was fantastic. The selection of beers, drinks and cocktails was great. They were very busy so although the food took a little while to come out it arrived hot and tasty so no worries at all. I also had the arancini as a side which was absolutely brilliant, the flavour was incredible! Will definitely be back as it's a great place to take friends who are visiting even just to have a drink and hang out.

The Gali. What a place. Slightly scared of the random person paying for my drinks at the bar but on the whole fair decent place. To be surrounded by a courtyard of lovers at various stages of their romantic journeys brings me inner peace and the feeling of jumping off a bridge, hand in hand with my imaginary lover who would love it here . The dull thud of the kick drum through the burgundy walls rattled my soul and made me think of my grandmothers house who loved hitting me with her slippers and playing the drums 👍

Always at the Galli to see live music on a Wednesday and they never fail to provide

Fantastic evening here. Lighting perfect, service brilliant, waitress remembered who ordered what, was very attentive and efficient, but not fawning! Food was fab, vegans, veggies and meats all ate handsome generous tasty food. SO GOOD!

Can’t fault this place. It is aesthetically stunning inside - could have spent an hour just looking at the art. Shared small plates with friends and the food was delicious and beautifully presented. Would highly recommend the arancini and the crumbed tofu. Good choice of wines and all reasonably priced. Can’t wait to go back.

I came here for a roast as part of a friends Birthday surprise and honestly the service here was way above standard. The food and drinks were affordable, delicious and came with amazing hospitality. Great atmosphere, lovely food and efficient service. The arancini was particularly good, also nice were the buttermilk chicken and the aubergine tagine. Lots of vegetarian options and a good selection of wines and cocktails. Live Middle Eastern style music was a bonus. Would definitely visit again.

Booked inside table for 10 on a Sunday. Family occasion wanted somewhere funky and with enough space for little ones to get crayons out etc. Starters were excellent especially aricini sauce. Mains were so filling we left with doggy bags, my son cheerfully eating roast potatoes for next 24 hours.

We ate an excellent roast dinner here yesterday. It was the best vegan roast we have had in our lives! Portions were a very decent size too, a rare experience these days. One of us had the pork roast and said it was one of the best roasts he had eaten also :) Tried the arancini starter dish (with cashew sauce, pea and mint pesto) which was absolutely delicious also. The vegan roast consisted of butternut squash roast with herbs and onions, roast potatoes, peas cabbage and carrots, swede puree, beetroot, and a breadcrumbed cauliflower, with gravy on top. Just wonderful and went down very well with the delicious house red. Will be back again soon, delighted with the food and friendly service. Thank you! :)

Came here for a roast and it was very very nice, had a roast chicken and it ticked all the boxes. Chicken was delicious, gravy was nice and thick. Plenty of veg, cauli cheese was nice. Roast potatoes were crispy and soft on the inside. Service was very friendly and welcoming.

Just got cocktails. Used to be more impressive - the preparation and the cocktails. Passion has gone, unfortunately - very unwilling cocktail preparation. Sorry - but people come for some nice atmosphere not unhappy face of a barman and just sone drink mix - instead of a passion made cocktail

We arrived, got a table straight away, got served nice and quick (and was even given a coder taster from the very friendly barman). What more could you ask for

First visit to the “Gally” a few days ago for a spot of lunch and it was well worth it. Fantastic food, amazing staff and I’d love to be able to pop by in an evening they have live music on to soak up the atmosphere. Lots of space indoors and out front and a good selection of beers and ciders.
