We recently visited The Gallery, a charming bar just a couple of minutes from West Hampstead tube station. The atmosphere is intimate, relaxed, and cosy, with soft lighting and a mix of sofas, tables, and bench seating. One of the highlights is the interior balcony, which offers a great view of the whole bar, though it only has four tables. If you can, I’d recommend sitting there. The décor, featuring vintage-style photos and candle lighting, makes it a perfect spot for meeting friends or going on a date. Prices for drinks are reasonable for London, and they offer a great variety of craft beers, wines, and cocktails. Though we didn’t try the food, the efficient and polite staff made sure we were never waiting long to be served. One downside is the street outside, which often has open rubbish bags, detracting from the overall experience. Still, The Gallery is definitely one of the best bars in West Hampstead, full of personality and worth a visit if you’re in the area.

Nice resto bar. Good food options, limited vegetarian options. Music was a bit too loud but otherwise a nice place to catch up

Tuve mi cumpleaños número 30 en el bar del sótano, el equipo era increíble en la comunicación antes de la fiesta. Tanto el equipo de eventos y el equipo interno fueron rápidos para responder y acomodar todas mis solicitudes! Pude configurarlo exactamente como quería con todas mis decoraciones. La comida y bebidas pre-ordenadas eran deliciosos y perfectos para mi grupo. Podría usar mi propia música y nos lo pasamos de maravilla! Sinceramente recomendaría a cualquier organizador de fiestas para utilizar el espacio aquí!

Great little place to chill out with friends for a drink or two. Great selection of obscure beers or ciders that makes it even more appealing to visit. Customers are friendly and you can make some new acquaintances 👍

I’ve been for drinks/snacks a few times and always a cool vibe. Today I went for lunch with a friend and my 2 young kids. We had an excellent experience. The waiter was extremely helpful and accommodating to our many needs, the service was super speedy and excellent, the food and drinks were delicious and we overall had a really enjoyable time. Can be hard to find a nicer place to take children during the day but this is definitely it for us and we will be back! Thank you!

Pedí una cerveza estrictamente sin alcohol y me dieron una. Después de abrir he visto que una cerveza contenía alcohol y después de eso no la sustituyeron, no me ofrecieron otra bebida por lo que ya pagaba, así que solo tomé un vaso de agua... Creo que es muy injusto... Ni siquiera lo siento.

Friendly staff, tasty food, cosy atmosphere, not too loud yet not too quiet.

I wasn't happy with the staff that was so possessive for wanting us to charge £10 for us to stay in the bar even though we there earlier buying food and drinks. Also being conned by staff for to pay for a free drink that was included for the new year's eve party A place like that just shows that it's pure greed and extortionate even in these hard times. Roll on 2024 for very expensive greedy bars, I won't be coming back here again. 5 month's later after there review.... So I get my explanation and I am supposed to be persuaded by a  stupid price offer of small plate and a house drink??? To be honest I wouldn't want that stupid offer even if it was free!!  so really your just insulting my intelligence with your arrogant  Kill them with love policy/attitude which tells me that I won't ever be returning ever! as there are cheaper and better bars that dont treat people this way. For a cocktail bar that  looks very expensive, neet and tidy it's very difficult for anyone to believe you are struggling with customer's and very  high prices whilst cheaper pubs survive. I am sure that same as other critics of this place that  you  assume we all all stupid but like I said better places to go so happy summer to you and looking forward towards your closing down signs.

Worst bartenders. Gave drinks to others while rejected us.

The worst staff. Rejects drinks after 9:31pm while she gave others drinks till 10pm. Horrible experience. Pls Don’t ever go here

I love the fried chicken thighs, absolutely delicious. The interior and ambience are also great, and there’s a nice selection of lagers and IPAs. No real ale though :(

Delicious waffles for brunch, sweet and savoury options. Was empty for Sunday morning so it was easy to get a table for 3 without a booking. Very attentive staff, who supported mu dietary restrictions.

The food quality has really deteriorated. This place used to be top class with their fried chicken, salads, hot sauce etc. Now it is just a disappointment.

Excellent vibrant location for music and energy, with a lovely decor and friendly staff.

Although it boasts a chic interior, craft beers and some occasional deals (especially 2for1 beers on Tuesdays), it lets itself down by having incredibly loud music, big TVs, poor service, no real ales and very expensive drinks when the deals aren't on (which is most of the time). Overall, I'd personally recommend Luna's gin bar or even the Railway pub - better prices, more down to earth and it'll be easier to talk to your friends

A very cute and cozy pub with a great selection of cocktails and bar snacks. We went there for a birthday party, but I'd equally recommend it for a date night.

I booked out the basement for a party, and would 1000% recommend. Everything was so smooth in the lead-up and on the night - all of the staff were so friendly throughout. Reasonable minimum spend & booking fee. The space is really great with a good sound system (and the ability to play your own music), good lighting and great food/drinks options. Definitely consider if you're planning a party!

Really poor service. We arrived a few drinks in and a single individual within our group was refused drinks on without good reason. Within minutes the whole group was ejected from the bar by security guard Philip (sp?). He wasn't keen to give his name, but eventually couldn't even give a specific reason why our Indian friend was 'too drunk' whilst the rest of us were fine. Very disappointing, we will not be returning.

Great atmosphere and friendly staff, however the food has really gone down hill since I first came here a couple of years ago, far too expensive for what you get and not as tasty as it used to be!

A delightful bar, The Gallery offers a fine array of kegged beers, illustrated by the country's best Beer Badges! Lovely service and lovely staff. The place has a mezzanine, brilliant! A lovely small bar close to the underground, a great place for a beer. Sorry to the real drinkers on this occasion.

West Ealings hidden Gem. This bar has everything for a date night or a catchup with friends It's a fabulous bar with great beer selection and the food is superb. I love the atmosphere and the staff are excellent if you're unsure what to drink, ask them and they will be more than willing to help. Also great music in the background not too noisy. Love this place and recommend it to everyone.

What a super cute bar! Downstairs is cozy and they even have a few board games you can play. The drinks were delicious. Do yourself a favor and get the fried chicken!! It was juicy, crunchy, tender, and so freaking yummy! Will definitely come back

Like an overwhelming majority of restaurants and bars in London; this place has a nice atmosphere, nice drinks but a terrible menu with bad food. There is nothing healthy on the menu - everything is fried: fried cauliflower, fried chicken, fried croquettes, oh and fries. Would be nice if the menu could have some healthy alternatives & little more adventurous. I tried the chicken burger which is the equivalent of KFC chicken in a bun for £13.

I booked The Gallery for a 24th Birthday party for 35/40 people in mid-January, and honestly the entire experience there could not have been worse. I arrived 15 minutes in advance of my booking with some friends and family to set up. I was greeted by the bouncer where I was first informed that as my sister and her two friends were nineteen, he would have to double check their policy with management. He reassured me that as we were a large group, there have previously been exceptions. However, I was then approached by what I assume was the manager for that evening. I’ve forgotten her name, but she was clearly not intended for front of house. She informed me that despite not being mentioned anywhere on the website or events brochure; during my advance visits or calls to the venue; or during my extensive email exchange with the regional events manager where I had booked the tables, food, and drink - my sister and her two friends would not be permitted to join us after 7:30pm. My booking was from 7pm. I was delivered a series of unapologetic, attitude-laden, and patronising explanations about how I was ‘violating the contract I signed’ by inviting my sister to my birthday in the first place? In reality, I hadn’t signed any contract. Rooting through my emails the next day, I understood by ‘signed contract’ she might have meant the sentence of font-size-10 text in the footnote of an e-receipt from DesignMyNight.com from when I had paid upfront for the food and drink that mentioned under 21s. Easily missed, or dismissed as an automated Americanism. Somehow, after this, it managed to get worse. Despite asking for the food and bottles of to be delivered immediately after hearing my sister and her two friends were not welcome, I was met by staff telling me they didn’t have enough glasses, even though I had pre-ordered 6 bottles for £200. It was about 45 minutes before I had managed to frantically source a glass for everyone myself. The sharing/group food was also ridiculously overpriced for what it was. The mezzanine space included as part of my booking was also ill-suited, with a ceiling height of 6ft1, it is essentially a corridor cluttered with chairs and tables. I had visited the Gallery in advance so take some responsibility; however, given that the website states up to 25 people are able to fit there I was taken aback by how awkward it was on the night. Finally, the toilets were genuinely revolting. An overwhelming sewage smell, everything was dirty, and the toilet seat was broken. It might have been comical had that been the only issue with the venue, but it was not. While I waited for a majority of my group to arrive, my boyfriend sprinted around the West End Lane for an 11th hour alternative venue. Miraculously, within 90 minutes we managed to migrate everyone to Heads + Tails, where their fantastic team welcomed everyone in their basement and rescued the night with a private bar and sound system. Honestly, just go there instead. A bitterly disappointing experience, especially considering I’ve attended great events at other Urban Leisure Group locations (Alice House QP & WH, Bobby Fitzpatrick, NFE etc) and had wrongfully assumed that the quality of venues would be consistent. It is not.

Good range of drinks and fairly trendy. Food was good, but nothing to write home about. Staff service was great. Prices were very reasonable.

Been here a number of times and normally a great spot for drinks with friends. Reasonably priced for the area and good selection of drinks. Normally, service is chilled and friendly, but last couple of visits have been shocking. Not sure if currently in a turnover of staff, but rudeness and incompetence is rife at the moment. Their new staff that was training had the best service of the staff. Will be avoiding for a while, and coming back in a few months to see if things have turned around!

Absolute gem of a find. Had a private party here abd the staff are BRILLIANT. They are professional warm big smiles, discreet. The drinks work, good choice and variety, good music and TV with sport, cannot fault it It is excellent for friends to meet up, excellent location, easy to find, just walk through the doors and You're in a good place. Highly recommended

I went to the gallery with my whole department for a Christmas celebration. We were around 12 people at the table. I ordered a cocktail that was £9.50 on the menu. When the young arrogant barman came, he asked me to pay £10.50. I said the cocktail was £9.50 on the menu and not £10.50. He didn't want to hear anything and then removed the cocktail and left, leaving me with nothing to drink and a total embarrassment in front of my colleagues. What he should have done is apologise and let it go as he was in the wrong. The barman was extremely rude. Everyone around the table saw it. I will not come back and I don't advise.

Really nice chilled out bar. We tried the fried chicken, cauliflower wings and the jelapeno fries which were all amazing. Had a couple of beers and some cocktails. Really nice bar staff.

Always nice to be at The Gallery for a drink. The food quality is very good and the selection of drinks is nice because is a bit more unusual than the bog-standard pub drink list

The staff are great but it’s not clear whether it’s table service or go up to the bar. Usually I’d be happy to spend £9.50 on a gin and tonic for a really special night out or in centre however I think this place is overpriced. The food is fabulous though!! They’ve introduced fun evening events now which is fun! My friends and I love going here after work and will still keep going because it’s a great vibey place and I’ll order a larger shandy from now on!

Great little bar, with a cool set up, basement and inside balcony

Quirky bar with a unique twist. Very calm and laid back and full of records which gives it a touch of elegance and taste. There's a huge choice of drinks and also a very nice mezzanine bar to drink from which is fun and gives you a small space of exclusivity. There's a huge space downstairs too which they use to host special events like a pin quiz on Wednesday. I ordered a glass of wine and vodka soda (single) for just over £10.

What a local find. Chilled, laid back wonderfulness. Fab beer selection - bacon flavour went down a treat!

Quirky bar - perfect for drinks and a few snacks. If your after a dinner venue I wouldn’t suggest it. The menu was small but the food was fantastic! Definitely more of a bar rather than a restaurant. We sat up in the gallery which had a lovely vibe. Bar staff were attentive and we had a tab which worked great for us! Craft beer on tap was nice but I’d recommend asking to try a bit before you buy a pint!

I am a regular at this venue. I love the food, the drinks and the ambient. The staff is also very polite and attentive. It’s a bit of a shame that the music is unnecessarily far too loud, which makes the experience uncomfortable after some time. It is a cocktail bar and it should be possible to be able to speak with the people at the same table, but that is in fact very difficult. I will definitely go back and hopefully this will have changed.

This used to be our favourite place when we lived in West Hampstead and we regularly return when visiting London. The fried chicken is worth the trip alone but the rest of the visit was also great, friendly and helpful staff, the cauliflower wings are also excellent, good wine and beer selection, and a friendly buzzing atmosphere. It's great to see it survived Covid, and look forward to returning again in future.

I had my 30th birthday party in the basement bar, I couldn't ask for a better night and venue. The staff were unbeiliveable the whole process from booking to the night was seamless and everyone I spoke to was fantastic. Big Shout out to Caroline and David who were fantastic throughout. I cant remember the names of the staff on the Bar but please pass on my thanks to them all . We were at the bar on the 5th of March.

A very homely place, made welcome by great service provided by the warm and welcoming staff.
