You can get better food and a cheaper pint from more competent staff and in a friendlier atmosphere at the Abbey Tavern, a short walk away.

Lovely little cosy bar. A proper local pub.

Why does it smell like the toilets in the whole pub? Pretty rough. Want it to be better as it’s our neighborhood spot but we end up walking further afield to better run spots.

We hosted our joint 40th party upstairs and had a wonderful time. Really good communication at the start to get the booking organised and the night was brilliant. Everyone commented on the canapés saying how delicious they were. Thank you team for a great evening.

the service was really good here in this bar everyone was so friendly and helpful. the atmosphere was beyond nice, very cozy and warm but most of all the food was amazing, very well cooked and so tasty. Miss Karolina the Head chef is so welcoming, friendly and loving. i love coming here especially for the roasts. defo recommend ❤️❤️❤️

The smell of urine is quite apparent as you walk in. Staff are a bit lame. Poor selection Of beer.

Every time I go in this pub it stinks. Like really smells. How they cannot sort this out is beyond me. And there is never anyone behind the bar. You have to go and find them. Today they the barman was outside having a fag. I waited for him to finish his fag and then he served me a pint. The next drink I ordered he was busy writing a sign. I said ‘don’t worry I can see you’re busy’ after waiting for him to finish. There were 4 people in the pub. Can’t see it staying open for long.

Super mediocre, clearly an unmanaged money pump. Food was very bland. The service staff, however, were all really lovely, doing their best. When we first arrived, nobody was at the bar for take orders for nearly 10 minutes. When someone arrived and saw, she said "I'm so, so sorry", jumped on her phone and called someone to get more staff in. Again, all the staff were lovely. All quite young. Went into the bathroom to discover a broken urinal. Rather than closing that urinal, they just put a Pimm's jug to catch any errant urine. Lovely place, but the good vibes are because of the staff and completely despite the management and / or ownership. To the owners: do better. You have great staff.

I'm not sure if this was just a one-off experience but I visited a couple months ago for a Sunday Roast and it was sadly so disappointing. The chicken felt dry and reheated in taste and the accompanying sides lacked flavour. The pubs atmosphere was lovely so if I come back, it will just be for a drink.

I’ve visited this pub twice in the past 3 weeks. Whilst it’s a lovely place, it weirdly smells of toilet air freshener… I’ve seen a couple of similar reviews about the smell so hopefully something will be done about it. I’ll probably give it a third try but if it still smells I don’t think we’ll bother again.

Great selection of beers, friendly bar service

Siempre disfruté tomando una copa después del trabajo en The Grafton. El ambiente es relajante, y era el lugar perfecto para relajarse. Todos sabemos que Londres se está poniendo caro, pero me pareció absurdo pagar £ 8. 00 para un Leffe común. Aunque todavía es caro, podría entender tal precio para un IPA artesanal o un Beavertown. Es un pub acogedor en el corazón de Kentish Town, ni siquiera un lugar turístico en Camden o Mayfair. Esto se siente muy engañoso, y nunca volveré.

We were a table of 6 and a little dog as this place is dog allowed. The staff were very attentive, we have a huge Sunday roast for 4 of us and also they gave some food and treats for my dog, he was so happy to be spoiled. The atmosphere was great and the food as well, thank you Martin for your service.

Este solía ser un lugareño decente. Tenían un buen menú fresco y una amplia carta de vinos. Ahora la carta de vinos se ha reducido a una pizarra sobre la barra. El menú enmudeció. Al preguntarle al barman cuál era el vino de la casa, no sabía. Para ser justos, la comida que comimos estaba bien cocinada y fresca, pero el menú es definitivamente limitado de lo que era. Eso puede explicar por qué el lugar estaba relativamente vacío y faltaba ambiente. Qué pena, era un buen pub.

Took my Spanish family for a Sunday Roast and everyone loved it! We got a bit of a wait as they had a large function but many of them came to apologise, which was appreciated but we also understood that it happens. The family sharing roast its one of the best things i have ever seen! We used to go before summer many Sunday's and other days for drinks and we will be back many days now. Thank you for the great service ☺️

Do not book the private roof Terrace. they told us they were shutting the bar early because we were not buying enough drinks.

My first visit on Tuesday night: weird and persistent smell filling the room, service less than average and, most importantly, very disappointing food (rib eye steak: undercooked and tough, served with a horrible lumpy sauce that had a skin formed at the top). What a pity.

One of the best Sunday roasts I’ve ever had in a pub.

I was really looking forward to spend my evening at the Grafton. I had booked a table for my family, specifying that I had two kids with me and got my booking accepted. So the evening of the booking, we showed up and a member of stuff told us that we couldn't stay for dinner as kids were not allowed past 8pm. Although I understand this is the law, I would have much appreciated to know this at the time of the booking confirmation rather than on the day. So I am very disappointed by how the evening went!

Had a roast. Came out cold, no stuffing as stated, potato's not crispy and cold and hard. The pub absolutely stinks. Needs a deep clean and food needs to be fresher.

We absolutely love it here! Peter, the new co-owner, is a delightful host who really wants you to eat, drink and be merry in his establishment. Great selection of beers on tap, and the house red is one of many great wines they do. We had the fish and chips for lunch (2 for 1 on Fridays) and I have to say it’s the best I’ve had for a while - the chef brought it out to us and she was lovely too. Strongly recommend popping in if you’re in Kentish Town

I've been here a few times and the service is always great... Pretty much single handedly due to the one staff member that's always present when I've been in, shout out to Samia who always makes me feel welcome!

Only came here for a drink but really loved this pub. They had a great playlist (at a reasonable volume, unlike many venues), the staff were friendly, and a very nice comfortable sofa. Just a really nice environment to chill with a drink and some company.

The Grafton is one of my goto pubs when I'm in London. It's especially relaxed for a London pub the service is always really friendly, the beet taps exceptionally clean. It's a great place to just sit and catch up with mates.

Podrían cocinar demasiado tu bollo o no haber limpiado tu lechuga. ¡Podrían tardar siglos en hacer tu pedido, podrían servirte sopa de tomate, fría! Podrían confundirte con ese cliente molesto y escupir en tu salsa. Las lámparas podrían estar parpadeando, la sopa podría ser peluda. Pero cuando llegues a los postres, ¿cuándo es el momento de pedir tu pudín? Su caramelo pegajoso es glorioso. Tan esponjoso, tan dulce y salado, tan cremoso, tan aterciopelado, tan suave, tan bueno. Entonces todo lo demás no importa nada, y dices "hasta la vista" cuando pagas, porque sabes que volverás.

I didn't get food on my visit to the Grafton, however, I was disappointed by the atmosphere and vibe of the place (there was also a weird smell upon walking in). This pub is in an excellent location with lovely features such as dual aspect windows and vintage interior. It should be doing better than its current performance. Needs to sort out the smell first and foremost.

Inmediatamente me llamó la atención el ambiente relajado y amable del lugar. Tenía muy buen rollo. Una especie de chic de mala muerte y cómodo. El personal era cálido y amable y sinceramente sentí que había sido un habitual allí durante siglos. Un almuerzo muy satisfactorio, bien preparado y presentado utilizando buenos ingredientes y no eran tacaños con las porciones! Sin duda volveremos!

As soon as I walked in, I was struck by how welcoming and friendly the atmosphere was. A very comfortable pub with uber friendly people working there who made me feel I'd been a regular for ages, rather thank this being my first visit. The food was delicious too and very generous portions. I'm looking forward to going back

Strong smell of sweage as you walk into the pub and strong smell of stankment water when you go up stairs however; service was good and comfortable setting...

Visited for a quiz league match. Decent food brought to us in the upstairs function room on request. Good range of drinks.

The new management is transformative for what was getting to be a tired pub. Looking forward to more community table dinners, great food and excellent value.

Today we had bangers and mash. Once again, just like in recent months or even years, we were disappointed….. The mash had no potato flavor at all; it was watery and bland. I have no idea how they managed to make the sausages so dry. The gravy was lumpy and had a skin on top when served. I believe some changes need to be made in the kitchen…….

Came in on Friday night and had an amazing time! Loved the staff - Peter and Samia took good care of us. Made some great recommendations from the menu - loved the croquettes! Loved their vibe! Definitely making this my new local hang out. Can’t wait to be back!

I go to Grafton nearly every Sunday for roast. The food there was always delicious and now under the new management this place is running really well. I can’t thank enough to have a such a great place near my home.

I don’t recommend Sunday roast unless you like to eat dog food. The pork was very dry, the gravy tastes like dirty socks and boiled carrots remind me about hospital food.

Short pours and rubbish attitude - barman (tall/baseball cap/tattoos) poured two short beers. He then got irritated when challenged on one of them and tried to tell us that they serve 25cl as a half for some beers (to be fair the glass was marked at 25cl, though it still wasn’t properly poured and the other pint was also short). 1. You shouldn’t serve 25cl as half a pint - it’s not (smart way to increase your margin by 10% though). 2. Pour pints properly (I.e. fully). 3. Don’t get ratty and eye-rolling with customers who dare to ask you actually serve them a full drink.

The Grafton is under new management and it really shows. The food is really very good, my fish and chips was 1st class... and the staff are lovely. Great atmosphere. A definite place to return to.

Travelled over on the train for a pub quiz advertised on their website, and having actually booked a table, only to find out the pub was closed when we arrived. Annoying not to update the website and accept bookings considering. Huge waste of time and was too late to find any alternative pubs. Disappointed as had family visiting from afar who were keen to experience a pub quiz. We had even agreed our team name was going to be Stop Quizzing Your Heart Out (a clever reference to today’s news that Oasis were getting back together).

Just pop in for a pint on way back from the Roundhouse staff were pleasant and attentive then back to Brick Lane

Food was ok, but enjoyment was inhibited by poor plating. It was in very small print on the menu, but there is a 12.5% service charge. I’m not sure what for as you have to go up and order at the counter.

Had a burger and chips with a pint.. £28.. I was then asked for tip through card machine before I got food. When I asked how the bill came to £28 I was told there is a service charge.. think you should not be looking for tips also.. won't be back

Came in on a Sunday, had a wonderful roast lunch with my family. We were helped out amazingly by Samia. She was knowledgeable regarding the menu, courteous and had such a wonderful sense of humour. Will be back again!

Classic pub in the heart of Kentish Town with beautiful interior and really nice atmosphere. Friendly staff and excellent service. They have a lovey menu and I highly recommend their Sunday roasts!

Visited this evening, awful service and food, shame cause it used to be run so well. Had a Caesar salad and orzo salad, Caesar came with no chicken and orzo came with no orzo. Asked for chips on the side, these arrived but were clumsily thrown across the table by the bar maid dressed in her best pjs. Apologies were made on leaving but left with a £59 bill for sub-standard food and service. Won’t be returning. Thought it couldn’t get worse but the toilets were housing all the black flies of Kentish Town that would have probably made a better meal. Please change management and the chef!

What a great pub. Lovely atmosphere, friendly staff and a delightful varied menu. The outdoor decking is a great additional space.

Great food. I had the Irish pie and she had the fish. They have cool cocktails too, and the great taste of not having Bombay Sapphire gin (cause it sucks).

A little off the beaten track. Just far enough from the maddening crowds to be civil. The food is limited but good. Worth a visit to have a pint or relax & have lunch.

Loved the interior of the pub. The beer was a fair price and nicely kept. The staff were nice. The roast wasn’t a disaster but was a bit of a let down, especially the potatoes which were dry and a little burnt.

Quite a fancy pub. The skinny chips are really really good for a pub. Highly recommend, not sure about pricing, probably a bit pricey for how nice the food is.

A really pleasant Saturday evening. After a busy early evening arrived at just gone 9 and was so happy to find that the kitchen is open until 10. 5 meals, all excellent and well priced. Good choice of beer, busy enough to be interesting but not too noisy and packed out. Will definitely be back

I visited on Tuesday and your deputy manager Lucy was so gracious! I had a lovely brisket bagel and my partner had the fish and chips which he said was cooked very nicely too. Exceptional service from herself and the staff at the Grafton!

Worst experience I've had in a pub in London Went there in a Saturday night - standing at the bar waiting to order, just one guy next to me, the 3 bar tenders went to ask him if he has been served, completely ignoring me (not even looking at me) right next to him. The other costumer had point me out so they would even cared to look at me. One of them did, very annoyed asked me for my order - might be sexism, racism...? Who knows what about me it's what bothered the so much! We were made to move tables twice with no explanation - there wasn't a "reserved" sign on them so people wouldn't know we can't sit there. After the second time I went to ask the angry man why we could sit there and even more angry shouted at me a few times: look behind you! All that people It's not my fault if they can't deal with their reservations adequately. There's many other friendly places around - I recommend to avoid this place and being treated in a completely rude manner.

I had my retirement party at the Grafton in September 23, and this was my second visit for a friends mum celebration of life, the Grafton is a fantastic venue, lovely staff, great food. Highly recommended.

My partner and I went for a roast on Sunday at 4pm. Service was slow, but we didn’t mind as we were having a slow day. I got the veggie roast, I was really disappointed. The plate wasn’t warmed so the whole thing went cold quickly. Gravy was at the bottom of the plate, not poured on top and lukewarm. The potatoes were terrible, again not hot, not crispy on the outside. The veggies encroute parcel was the only hot thing on the plate. My boyfriend got the beef roast, the meat was cold, same bad potatoes and lukewarm gravy. We also ordered cauliflower cheese which again came to us barely warm, clearly briefly warmed up before bringing it out.

My exsperience at the Grafton was quality and smooth. There was a mistake with one of my orders by one of the waiting staff and a manager named Aaron came over, sorted out the confusion and generally sorted the issue out making the exsperience worth going back for again. I reccomend the grafton but most importantly I reccomend the friendly staff and manager.

Called in from a recommendation off a friend. The food was amazing! And so much nicer than most pub burgers. The lady that served us was fantastic 👏🏽 She was warm and welcoming, and took it in good jest when we mentioned an error on the specials. Overall a really chilled and welcoming atmosphere. Would definitely recommend

Superb food, l shall also be writing a review on TripAdvisor ... Because the food in The Grafton is worthy of 10 minutes of my time. We were there on Tuesday, to meet with family members who were visiting from Australia. The food which we had, was as close to 'Fine-dining' as you can get, without creeping into very expensive territory. There weren't any cask beers on unfortunately, but we were there for the food and a good chat, and The Grafton proved to be the perfect venue. Really wonderful food. The Scotch egg is the best l have had. I want the recipe!! And for the homemade Piccalilli too 😂 My Salmon 'mains', was terrific and my wife's Risotto was absolutely brilliant (I pinched a bit) Prices were very reasonable for the quality of the food that we had. Get in quickly before the word gets out. This place is currently bookable but imagine that it will become very busy, once people find out about it. My thanks to everyone concerned, but my very special thanks to your chef... Absolutely amazing! Thank you. Nic

Amazing food lives in Kentish Town!! This was our second visit to The Grafton. Our first visit was very good, but this week's visit was so good that l have to share. It was a wet and dreary Tuesday lunchtime in December and, whilst our first visit was good. This visit was exceptional. I am kicking myself that l didn't take pictures but the food that we had, looked, and was presented, as beautifully as it tasted. A Scotch egg, done well, can be a wonderful thing! And, at The Grafton, they do the best that l have ever had. My Salmon mains were incredible, and my wifes Risotto was excellent. Great food and very good prices! What more can we ask.
