This is now called "Porters" and is a good traditional style and reasonably priced cafe on the dockside.Simple menu and good coffee. A very pleasant experience all round and the staff were super friendly. The Pacific Melt was ace so around £5-6 for a light butty snack is a fair price for such a great location

Small cafe with Art on the walls close to the Tate Modern right on Albert dock. We had a good hour or so walk around the city centre an gravitated back to the dock after the cold whipped up a need for some sustenance. It is staffed/Run by some nice people and for the location offers simple Cafe food at a good price. Loved it. 2 breakfasts mugs of tea/coffee well under £20

Looking for a big breakfast type of cafe and this was still doing breakfast early lunch at a great price of £5.95. Eleven of us trundled in and staff very good catering to all our individual requirements, adding this on and taking that off, to the Mega Breakfasts. The staff really kept their cool for all us older fusspots! Fried eggs bit rubbery but hey they brought out more fresh yolky ones for two of us, and I could get my Lady or Earl Grey Tea! Orange Juice etc. This was what we all needed after partying for two days in Liverpool celebrating 40th & 50th birthdays! Would recommend it.

We visited for a quick panini and drink between museums. It was very busy on a Saturday lunchtime but we found a table and queued to order to be told 'you need to sit down and order' so we did. I wanted a cup of tea but I'm allergic to milk so asked for soya milk or similar only to be told 'no', not 'sorry no but we have ....' just 'no' even though they had a food allergy notice up! Panini was really nice actually though. 2 drinks and 2 paninis cost 13 quid. Cafe itself was basic, ok for cleanliness but staff surly and cafe nothing special. Wouldn't visit again.

Went for breakfast recently and decided to go for the XL breakfast. To be fair it was advertised with 2 eggs, 2 sausage, beans 2 bacon and 2 slices of toast, and that's exactly what we got. You could have other items added as side items, but it was hardly what I would call a mega breakfast. Come further north and you would get mushrooms, black pudding , tomato and hash browns as standard, so to me, it's more of a regular breakfast. I guess it depends on your definition of large. Sometimes size isn't everything, but in this case it was . It was cooked well enough, but nothing to rave about. Service was fairly slow, girls were ok but that's about it. I thought it was a bit of a let down for Albert Dock, but that's just my opinion, and opinions are not facts.

I never see him smile, he talks down to his customers- the other day he made one of his elderly customers (who looked like they struggled walking) walk back to the table to collect their receipt- he was quite rude to them and it has really put me off going.I don't think i'll be going back to the Gallery any time soon which is a shame as the rest of the people who work there are really friendly

I've been coming to the gallery on and off for two years now, always at lunch time and always for a takeout. However, it was because of my last visit that I've decided to leave a review. As the title suggests there are two types of gallery, one when the older gentleman (I presume the owner) is there and there other when he isn't. When he's not there, the three women that work there are friendly, attentive and polite. I don't have any complaints with them at all, I often feel for them having to work for the owner. The truth is, I'm not leaving a review based on one experience with him, it's at least a dozen times, each time similar to the below experience. The last time I visited, it was about 2pm and the place had a couple in there. I approached the counter, he didn't acknowledge me or look at me, so I just asked for what I wanted. Cajun chicken panini and I picked up some crisps. He keyed in the amount and I removed my card form my wallet. He took it from me and huffed, "Typical, I've just cashed up." He used my contactless and then tossed my card on the counter. He has 'given' me my card back in this manner about 5 or 6 times. It's this experience you receive from him that means when you leave the gallery, you feel as though you inturupted him or some how made his day worse. The things is, I hope he reads this and thinks differently. I don't know what is going on in his life and the world needs more patience. Hence why I've eaten there 50+ times in two years hoping it'll be different. However, this isn't isolated to me, there are 8-9 people in my team alone that talk openly about the service they get from him, it's become a bit of a running joke.I love your Cajun chicken panini and your baguettes are great, but I can't keep going whilst the owner continues to act the way he does.

Popped in for lunch, very busy. The menu was simple, the food came quickly, was piping hot, tasty and enjoyable and very reasonably priced, none of the inflated prices you see nearby. What's not to like?

Was looking for a nice cooked breakfast and I found it. Reasonably priced and a good sized breakfast. Plenty of tea available to wash it down.

I'll start with the positives. My mug of tea was hot and my baguette was quite nice. Now I'll turn to the negatives, which are considerably greater in number!Firstly, I could not eat my tomato and basil soup, which, in all honesty, tasted more like a pasta sauce than any soup I've ever had. I do enjoy a tomato and basil soup ordinarily, and I've consumed quite a few in my time, but never have I ever come across one that was so sharp, bitter and unpleasant that I couldn't eat more than a couple of mouthfuls. I asked my better half to help me out, thinking that perhaps my taste buds were a bit off colour, but she could not stomach it either. She insisted I tried some of her panini to make up for the soup, but unfortunately it wasn't much better. I found it to be very doughy, and the cheese was far too mild for my taste. I also tried some of her coffee, which she said was very weak and closer to boiled water than anything else, and I agreed with that assessment,The prices are not cheap, as is probably to be expected in the Albert Dock, but having paid a relatively high price for one soup, one panini, one tea and one coffee, I do not expect to be directed to a public toilet 50 metres down the street when I want to use the facilities. That is a disgrace, and if it is something that is common to all establishments in the Albert Dock, as stated by the server, then it is an embarrassment to the great city of Liverpool. If, however it is a situation that is unique to the Gallery Cafe, it's abysmal, and, in conjunction with the average service plus the poor and overpriced food, is another reason to avoid this place at all costs.

It's an average greasy spoon that charges more so you can sit amongst some overpriced paintings. The full English doesn't contain sausages and if you go for the mega breakfast you still have to pay extra for hash browns, mushrooms and black pudding. I expect better value from a cafe that specialises in breakfasts and sandwiches. What really got my goat was that when I asked to use the toilet, I was told matter of fairly to use the public facilities 50meters down the dock. That truly is criminal. Oh, lastly, my partners sausage butty was served on untoasted bread that looked like it had been buttered by somebody with a phobia of bread crusts.

We ordered a giant cookie on the second of feb to be collected on the 17th feb giving plenty time for it to be made. The day before pick up I ran the branch and asked about the cookie to which the lady rudely replied she hadn’t got an order and that there was lots of staff so it had gone missing, she didn’t even think to ask what was my order and instead told me to ring back at 4:30pm as she was extremely busy. As this cookie was for an event I didn’t want to risk not getting it and with the employee not really listening and being rude on the phone I went down to speak to her to my Surprise (not) she was not busy instead on her phone with her headphones in I spoke about the issue with the missing order and showed her my receipt to which she replied (I believe you) well I’m glad she did as she took my order on the 2nd. She never apologised or even acknowledges her mistake instead was extremely rude. I’m sure this isn’t the time of person Millie’s wants as the front for there business because I will not be going back and I’m sure others will feel the same if they have to deal with the same rudeness and inconvenience.

My girlfriend asked for a medium strawberry acai with lemonade but no ice and the drink cost £5.60 already for this price you could expect them to fill the cup, instead served a small cup half full, i asked if they could fill it up with lemonade as every other starbucks has done. I had to ask for a refund as i wasnt paying £5.60 for a half drink, we sat down to enjoy some time together and we overheard us them attempt to whisper about me asking for a refund by one staff member to the other and i found this to rude, when all i asked was a simple request. Any other starbucks or even staff have been much more accommodating. Wont be returning and ask people to go to the other starbucks in town centre.
