We stayed the night in room 1. We couldn’t have asked for more, absolutely stunning and all really well thought through. The staff are lovely, really accommodating, the pub itself is beautifully decorated and has everything you need. Both dinner and breakfast were spot on a great portion sizes. Lovely garden, can’t wait to visit again when we’re in the area! I would highly recommend this to stay or visit for food

Nice decor and decent prices for Sunday lunch. The order arrived super quickly and it was immediately apparent that at least some of the food was not hot-it was not steaming and the Yorkshire puddings were only slightly warm to the touch. The server was told straight away and brought a replacement pudding -at exactly the same temperature as the first one. My companions found theirs cold too and three out of four Yorkshires were uneaten. The roast beef was on the rare side of medium rare-and therefore barely warm. The accompaniments of sweet red cabbage, parsnips, carrots and roast potatoes with gravy were delicious-appropriately cooked and not over seasoned but BARELY warm. Had they been hot the meals would have been a perfect Sunday roast. No one asked how our meal was until time for the bill, when we related our experience. There was no attempt at redress or apology. I think the meals were perhaps already plated up and kept warm, hence the speedy service and hence the lukewarm temperature. A pity as they’ve clearly got so much right.

Couldn't have been looked after any better, despite a c*ck up with the booking (our fault), changes were accommodated quickly and with a great sense of humour. Sunday lunch was fantastic, the cheese souflee is to die for, locals were very friendly. A great night's sleep had surrounded by beautiful countryside and then a massive breakfast with locally sourced produce and the option of a bloody Mary!! Truly a 5* stay and we will definitely be coming back, just a little more organised this time. 2-1 to the Full Moon Inn team.

We stayed at the Full Moon Inn for 2 nights as a base to visit Longleat. We had a very comfortable stay. Rooms are well appointed and beautifully clean. Nice little extras in the mini fridge Milk, Fruit Juice & Water. And we also had home made biscuits provided which was a nice touch. The breakfast was outstanding. All high quality produce cooked freshly each morning. Plenty of choice too. We booked via Booking.com and didn't realise that the pub was closed in the evenings on the 2 nights were were there. So we were unable to drink or dine in the pub. However we found a couple of restaurants close by so ate there instead. The only negative was the sliding door on the bathroom as it didn't offer a lot of privacy and the loo creaked when you sat on it! But apart from that small negative I would definitely recommend the Full Moon inn if you are looking for a small, quaint, friendly and peaceful stay.

We visited this pub as it was down the road from the holiday park where we were staying for a few days. Very nice atmosphere and decor with friendly service. I was very impressed with the presentation of my meal as I ordered the buttermilk fried chicken. My husband had the fish and chips and my son tried the mac and cheese. Would definitely visit again if we come back to the area.

We were recommended this place by a neighboring hotel ( having arrived and realised I had booked the wrong date, doh!) . The room was lovely, very well appointed with fresh milk, water , juice and biscuits; good beds and excellent decor and cleanliness. Finner was very good quality and value for money. Breakfast was also excellent, one of the best Full English I have had in ages. Yhe only suggestion would be to have a larger table for the cereal, jams, toast etc...not enough space, and maybe little dishes to take the jam? However, everything was clearly local and of top quality.

We have just returned from a 2 night stay at the Full Moon Inn. We were attending a wedding nearby so we didn’t see much of the area but we will definitely be returning to the Inn. The staff were great, especially Eve. The rooms were spotless, comfortable and provided everything you could need - toiletries, coffee/tea making facilities along with a fridge, iron, fan and hairdryer. The breakfast was really superb and we had our evening meal in the pub on our first night which was also extremely good. We really enjoyed our stay, thank you!

We stayed for one night for my wife's 40th birthday and could not fault the place. A warm welcome from the bar staff and were shown to our room which had some lovely touches such as fresh milk and orange juice in the fridge and biscuits. Bed was comfortable and the room was spotlessly clean. Lovely beer garden, very peaceful and quiet. We had dinner and breakfast and all the meals were delicious. My wife is Gluten Free and I have to say they had lots of options on the menu which was nice to see. For the breakfast they'd also got some gluten free bread and pastries for her and she really appreciated that. Overall a fantastic place to stay, we hope to return one day and wouldn't hesitate to recommend to anyone. Thank you.

We visited Thursday night as we were staying nearby at the holiday park. What a lovely pub! Everything a traditional country pub should be. Lovely staff, welcoming from the moment we arrived. A really nice cosy vibe which is also dog friendly which is a bonus, we will be sure to bring our four legged friend with us next time. We ordered a few starters to share which were all lovely, evidently home made with fresh ingredients. We will be back for sure ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

If your thinking of booking this accommodation then don't hesitate. Beautiful spotless rooms overlooking the countryside. One of the best breakfasts I can remember and lovely food in the evening. We visited this Inn as part of a get away for my birthday. Located in a quiet village just outside of Frome, it's perfectly located for trips to local towns being central to Frome, Trowbridge and Bath. On arrival we found plenty of parking and a property that looked tidy from the exterior, on going inside we were warmly greeted and shown to our room. The room was spacious, clean and catered for anything you could need including cuddly hot water bottles. The wife loved the sight of the roll top bath so much that she couldn't resist before we went down for our evening meal. The evening menu was a bit on the smaller side, so any fussy eaters might struggle a bit, but to be honest the food we had both for tea and breakfast was cooked fantastically well and enjoyed by all.

Arrived at the pub/hotel and there was plenty of parking. Manager/Owner was super friendly and welcoming. The place appears to have been renovated inside and has been done really well. It is a small pub so please don’t be concerned with noise etc. Really warm and cozy inside. I said twice over a week, once with my 18 yr old son and then on my own. Both stays the rooms were identical apart from the first time we had requested a twin room which was accommodated. The second time was a large king bed. The rooms were immaculately clean with en-suite facilities, matching in cleanliness. There was an iron and board, tea, coffee making facilities and biccies (which is always a bonus). There is also a fridge with real milk , orange juice and water. Toiletries in bathroom are local providers and good quality. The room comes with a fan and as can be seen in the photos, little hot water bottles. Neither were required for our stay was temperature good. The pub is closed on Mondays and Tuesday I believe so we went to Trowbridge for dinner but there were more local haunts. And now to the best bit…. Breakfast. I had the Eggs Benedict which were gorgeous and hot and fresh. Also loads of choice of cold buffet including pastures, fruit and some gorgeous looking loaves of bread. Also a good strong coffee freshly made. In addition the manager kindly helped print off some paperwork which he didn’t need to do, which was hugely appreciated. This place is a little more expensive than some of the other local establishments but was well worth the little extra for the quality and care you get.

We stayed at The Full Moon for 3 nights so we could explore Somerset and Wiltshire, it was ideally placed being just outside Frome. We also had breakfast and dinner through our stay.

From up North, we needed the "Sat Nav" job to find it. To us, the place is in the middle of no-where, but it suited our requirements. Reason for our stay, was because we went to Longleat Safari Park. A Fantastic day out.

We went for an evening at the weekend. There was a warm and cosy atmosphere - seemed to be lots of 'locals' in the pub but we were made to feel very welcome. The food was standard pub offerings and was good home style rustic...

We came here to eat after see on the pubs website that they are Supporting Our Forces and offering a discount. This is not true and the Full Moon doesn't Support Our Forces. I'm not one that thinks as a serving solider you deserve a discount but if on the front page of the website says that you do then do it or take off the sign advertising that you do Support Our Forces.

Our whole family went out for a meal on Mother's Day. The food was very nice and did not take long despise there being a lot of us so we were very impressed. The pub had a lovely feel to it and the staff were very friendly. We will definitely return.

we arrived just as they were opening for lunch and so we found a quiet corner to sit in. The staff were very warm and welcoming and we had a lovely chat before placing our food order. I had the pate for starters followed by the most amazing fish and chips and a sumptuous chocolate brownie to finish off. All of the food was well prepared and served. Staff were attentive but not obtrusive and so we had a very fine lunch indeed. I am hoping to return next Sunday to try their Sunday Roast. I really cannot wait - definitely worth a visit if you are passing.

Difficult pub to find, we missed the traffic sign to Rudge and had to take a beautiful scenic tour around all the country lanes then when we reached a junction we spotted it to the right so it is well worth using a sat nav or figure out how to get there before you set off. However, it was well worth the effort as it was a little gem in the middle of nowhere but the end result paid off. We chose the same starter; the pate with onion relish and lightly toasted fresh white bread served with two pats of butter. The pate was delicious, was fine and smooth with a great taste on the palate. We both chose the beer battered cod and chunky chips for the main served with peas and side salad. The fish was very delicate and tasted really good, the batter was very thin and crispy, served with a generous portion of chips. These were delicious, crispy on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside. The peas could have been cooked for a few minutes longer as they were a bit hard. We both had a desert; I chose the strawberry cheesecake, my friend chose the chocolate brownie. The cheesecake had a really good texture, almost like a set strawberry flavoured mousse and the base was very moist. My friend's chocolate brownie looked very good, the brownie was served with a generous portion of chocolate sauce and came with a couple of scoops of ice cream.I would recommend it for families, friends having a catch up. There is a much larger seating area away from the area where we were and is more suited to large parties or large gatherings.Overall it was a very good restaurant, the service was very good and the standard of food we had was excellent and could not fault them.

We wanted to try Root's menu - it looked interesting and innovative - but we were pleasantly surprised by the ambience and approach to lunch service. A lot of the dishes were understated in their presentation, but there's obviously a (justified) confidence in the cooking. No need for flowery garnishes, just great dishes. There's a great skill in creating plates that look inviting rather than intimidating, and that draw unforseen levels of flavour from potentially unpromising ingredients - celeriac, for instance. Everything was enjoyable, and comforting on a cold December day in exactly the way we had hoped. Excellent.

Very disappointing. We came here once before and we were very impressed but this time the batter was burnt black in places.

Such a wonderfully welcoming and relaxed restaurant with the most amazing food right in the heart of England’s tiniest city. We went for a family New Years Eve meal and the service and food was absolutely spot on. We will definitely return. Highly recommended!

Had a delivery, excellent service, fast delivery. The cod was excellent, the chips not greasy, very hot and beautifully cooked.
