Patties were delicious and chips were the way I wanted. Friendly staff and one of the very clean premises.

The man is so rude and on his phone all the time even when busy doesn't listen or acknowledge staff. Had to wait cos he was more attentive to his phone than the poor girl on till she told him my order at least 3 times. His staff are clearly overworked. Needs to employ more staff should be 2 on like in all other chippies if he won't help them.Food nice, staff nice but overworked. Poor management. Hope they're on a good wage but highly doubt it.

I used to use my local fish and chip shop (not named, but would be now a 2 star, When their busy they don't cook the fish long enough). Was advised to try The Frying Pan. I was well impressed, they were no pricier, but the fish was at least half the size again, and cooked to perfection and the chips were also very good. I've been to Papa's in Cleethorpes, which has been voted in the top 10 in the country, but even they cannot hold a candle to "The Frying Pan".

Avoid this place. Terrible food. Chips rock hard or under done. Very rude staff. Worst chip shop in hull by far.

I have eaten lots of fish and chips in Hull and throughout the East Riding, but The Frying Pan fish and chips beat the rest hands down. This is the most spotless chippie i have been to. The owner and the staff are the friendliest there is. If you come to Hull and fancy fish chips or any other food that's on the menu this is the place to go to.For taste and value it cannot be beaten anywhere.

I have been here several times now, and every time it is fantastic, faultless and tastes gorgeous! This is by far the best chippy in Hull and I have tried several. The fish, sausage and patties are to die for! They have got everything from prices, quality, freshness, batter, choices to opening times down to the tee! In addition you can see how spotlessly clean it is. Happy to travel 3 miles across Hull for the best chippy this city has. An example to all who do and want to run a chippy.

Very nice plump haddock, very thick for this type of fish. And good value so would go again. They also take telephone orders so it will be ready upon your arrival.

Never disappointed, the large haddock are enormous, the curry is beautiful and the food isn't swimming in grease or oil. Just fantastic fish and chips, the best I've tasted on Holderness Road.

Popped in here for a quick take away tea - we have reviewed the fish and chips before but wanted something quick so got pattie and chips - now you can only get patties in Hull it is a local thing made of potato and herbs and fried in batter. They were delicious - best patties we have had in a long time - Sorry Bob Carver ( local famous fish shop) you have competition these beat you hands down - we got tons of chips and some lovely mushy peas. We will definately be going back soon

Food was OK but appalling service after a family member had a health incident at the pub. Bear in mind how cold it was outside my mother was told to go outside rather than stay inside and keep warm whilst her husband was getting checked over in an ambulance after having 3 fits. Disgusting, the least they could have done was to sit her down maybe give a warm drink whilst she waited for the ambulance people to come back to her as she was upset and worried and wait for them to let her know how her husband was and why he fitted.

A fabulous old school dining experience which you just don't find in Hull these days. A really warm welcome, we were seated in the comfortable bar area for drinks whilst we perused the menu, we gave our order and then after a short period of time we were shown to our table. My two sons had sirloin steak each that were cooked to perfection, I had a fantastic porterhouse steak that was packed full of flavour and my parents both had sea bass. The vegetables do not come with the meal, but this means you can choose what you want, and with the meal being silver served, you decide on your portions. Our table ordered three desserts as two of our party were full. A rather nice end to a great meal. I used the gents bathroom as I believe if a restaurants toilets are clean, everywhere else will be clean and my theory holds true. The toilets were clean, hygienic and smelled fresh. There was a plentiful stock of hand soap and hand towels. This little restaurant is a gem of a find, and it can be quite easily overlooked when walking down Whitefriargate. This restaurant has been going for a good 60 years and so I would hope people go and support this local business so they can look forward to another 60 years in Hull
