We ordered lunch for a home, for 30 people. The staff were incredible. So accommodating and friendly! The food was all hot and tasted incredible. Not a single complaint from anyone. We ordered different foods and changed the order before picking it up and not only was the order spot on but tasted perfect as well. We cannot recommend this place enough. Thank you to the team! We'll be back!

So late arriving I really couldn't care less if it's OK or not. If they claim to deliver then they should at least vaguely on time.

Thank you once again for cooking us 30 fish and chips plus sauces last minute for a care home when our ovens were down. Everybody loved it! Great friendly service!

Consistently awful chips. I’ve been here three times, the chips have been dry and hard each time. Staff are helpful which is nice.

Terrible experience again, after placing an order at 7pm received a to call at 8.20pm to say they have closed and cannot make the order. "Claim your money back from Just Eat" was the response. This place has let us down three times in three weeks. No doubt they will reply blaming Just Eat's software. Well... none of the other takeaways in Southport are experiencing the same issues. Avoid this takeaway. Unreliable.

Called in today October 19 2022 lunchtime. my husband and I sat in the little dining area which was really clean. The staff were so attentive and placed our order.We both had fish and chips with mushy peas, it was lovely and hot and very very tasty.We would definitely do it again.

We went for fish and chips tonight o 13/5/22 and got served by youngsters When we opened the bags of fish and chips we were disappointed Old chips were thrown in and they were very bitty, we dident finish all and were left disappointed, so we won't be returning

Came across this Chippy on line and booked through Diliveroo. Food was amazing ordered the fresh cod and chips. Batter was light and crispy and onion gravy delicious. Will certainly be ordering from here again.

This place is consistently brilliant. British chippy at its best. Lightly battered cod is to die for. Fish is cooked to order. Not sat in the warmer for 30 mins. Nothing more to add.

Simply the best chippy you will find! Light, crispy batter, beautiful fresh fish, chips are crisp on the outside and fluffy in the middle. Curry sauce is excellent. Can't fault it. Friendly service and spotless shop.

I’ve been using this chippy since it opened and the food, portion size and price is always fantastic. The fish, chips and peas are exactly how you’d imagine they should be from a proper chippy, and the home made pie is delicious. The staff are always nice too. This has to be the best chippy around!

Always come here on Friday evenings for fish & Chips with smooth curry source. It's always excellent. Love the spam fritter too!! Highly recommended

Been going to this little gem for over 2 years now and not only is it the best chippy in Birkdale it's the best Chippy in the NW and the people who work there are the most friendly keep up the good food.

The smooth curry sauce is amazing, it tastes exactly the same as my favourite and isn't as far away. The fish and chips haven't been oily on the 2 occasions we have eaten from here and the homemade onion rings are light and crispy. The portion sizes are decent. No complaints.

Today I took my mum and husband for a treat at the Fryery. We were met by a very pleasant assistant,who placed our order. Which was fish and chips, chip muffin, and steak pie, chips with gravy. We then sat in the dining area,when the order arrived it was extremely hot and had no greece to be seen at all. This was the best meal we’ve had in a long time, we will certainly come back.

Called into this little chippy today as my son had football training at Bedford park bought fish chips and gravy for us to share on the way home in the car but now wished 8 hand bought us one each!! Absolutely gorgeous, never been to this area before as I'm from churchtown but well worth a run out, place was immaculate staff very friendly we will most definitely be coming back 😊😊

Love this chippy! Tasty chips, lovely, crisp batter on the fish. The gravy and curry sauce is full of flavour. Great portion sizes. The staff are very friendly. My only negative are the peas, they are a little bland. Still, by far the best chippy in town!

The first time I went to the Fryery the fish and chips were lovely,no fat near them.On the last 2 occasions the chips were very fatty and soggy.The fish was not a patch on my first lot from here.I always give a chip shop a second and third chance but will not be returning again !!

Following a recommendation from a long-standing customer and friend, I have become a "regular" over the last year - visiting this "chippy" every couple of weeks and what a find it is!Clean, smart & presentable, with a friendly welcome and very efficient service, this is a fabulous traditional English chip shop in the Birkdale area of Southport.The blue & white nautical theme inside really puts you in the mood for fish & chips!Good menu, often including daily specials - I particularly like the homemade chicken curry and the freshly-fried chicken breasts.The chips are hot, crispy & delicious. And try the 2 different homemade curry sauces - they are fantastic.Prices are extremely competitive. It`s a busy venue and opens from lunchtime right through until close of business 6 days a week (closed Sunday)You can even eat in, as there are a few tables & chairs in a side room, or you can perch, as I do, on a chair in the window and eat, whilst watching the world go by outside.You get your order served to you on a large plate, with proper cutlery. How civilised! A nice touch is that daily newspapers are available to read whilst you wait for your order, or eat on-site.Note: parking outside can be a little tricky as it`s on a busy road.PRO TIP: if ordering their chicken curry, ask for it "half and half" - served with both chips & rice.

My go to chippy. Delicious fresh food, decent portions & speedy service. I've also had a couple of deliveries when time is of the essence. These also are as good. highly recommend.

Never been here before but tried it tonight as my usual chippy was shut. I was served straight away and dinner was served within a minute. No waiting no messing about and the chips and curry sauce were the best I have had in a long time. She even let me try the curry before I boughtI will be back soon

Called here for lunch. You can sit in the back if you like or takeaway. Had homemade chicken curry & Chips which was excellent, My mate had Pie chips & mushy peas. Good old fashioned chip shop. No frills just top chip shop food. Great VFM.

The Fryery is amazing. I feel so lucky to be living just a few doors down (although my waistline may argue). The chips are served in generous portions at a decent price and are delicious. Not too greasy! You can choose between onion gravy or regular, which is a winner as we are divided in our household. The homemade steak pie is an absolute must, though I'm kind of wishing I hadn't included that as I want to make sure there is always some available for me! The Fryery also has a great selection of soft drinks like Fentiman's, which is great. Nothing like a dandelion and burdock with your chips! It's my favourite chippy probably ever and I hope it never closes!

Visited for a take-away meal on a Friday evening.Southport is blessed with an abundance of good quality fish and chip shops and the Fryery is no exception. The menu is comprehensive and the variety of fish available is excellent. Fritters, fish etc are cooked to order so nothing has been in the warmer for ages before it is consumed and the daily specials are very nice. Home-made Beef and Ale pie dinner on the day in question was delicious.All in all this is a top notch chip shop and I would highly recommend a visit.

Never had decent chips from here allot of hard bits always fish ok but curry sauce very tasty,very pricey for an average product

Just had a delivery from here well what can I say but wow it was fabulous. Piping hot when it arrived not a bit greasy was absolutely delishious highly recommend this fish and chip shop. Try it you won't be dissapointed, will definatly be ordering a delivery from them again. 5 big fat stars.

Popped in in the way home with the family and was well greated, clean environment and friendly. Ordered an array of items and all were very well received by us all. The establishment had a very welcoming feel and this alone is worth a star. Everything tasted great and we will be coming again. We just found our favourite chippie in Southport.

Best fish and chips I’ve had since I was a kid.If this chippy was in my suburb in Perth West Oz I’d be there every week.Can’t fault it.Great food. Good, friendly service and beyond value for money.Go there. You won’t be disappointed.

At last! A chippy that isn't a Chinese or a tourist attraction. Absolutely amazing Food! So fresh. Won't ever go anywhere else for fish and chips now. Loved it.

This is the best chippy in Southport. The staff are lovely and everything is made fresh.. they offer a good varied menu and the curry sauce is devine.. this place deserves an award and some recognition. Wont use any other chippy in Southport.. this place is clean, good prices and portion sizes. I would eat there every night my waistline would let me.

Forget the “award winning” chippies, this is the best in the area. Freshly cooked, crispy and delicious. We travel 8 miles to eat here, it’s that good.

Originally wanted fish and chips but was told told ten minute wait. Fair enough as fish cooked from fresh. Decided against wait and ordered sausage and chips. Still ten minute wait???? Chips not even crispy. Won’t be rushing back.

We live a few doors down so visit quite regularly. I think they serve the best fish&chips in southport. All staff are friendy and always have a smile and a chat i would definitely reccommend. Amanda Southport

Very friendly staff,great modern chippy with a new little inside seating area,the food here is excellent,specially the homemade curry,good selection of chippy food on the menu,well worth a visit even though we live at the other end of town,spotlessly clean throughout.

A friend came to stay and asked for The Fryery fish and chips for dinner. The great thing is that they will poach your fish, so slimmers can enjoy a chippy meal!Poached fish and mushy peas is a good Slimming World meal, with just a few chips as syns, so we share a bag of chips among us.They also have pickled onions, pickled eggs, gherkins, onion rings, chop suey rolls, garlic breaded mushrooms and much more...Highly recommended!

This chip shop is AMAZING I have never had a bad experience! Fish is fresh and crispy, chips are golden and perfect combo of squidgy and crispy, smooth curry sauce is gorgeous! Specials made fresh are the best you'll find! The staff are lovely and can't help enough it's rare you get somewhere which can can balance friendly and efficient like they do - Not a hint of the rudeness you find in most other southport chip shops and prices are more than reasonable whilst still giving special touches! This place needs an award I know people who travel for miles - this one really does live up to the hype!

Everything is cooked fresh while you wait. Normal chip shop faire. Lovely chips, The black pudding, spam or pea fritter are delicious! Even the drinks are delicious!If you like a traditional English chippy tea then you need travel no further. The Fryer is top notch!

I live nearer to an "Award Winning" chippy but always drive past it to get to The Fryery on a Friday night.By far the best chippy we've been to. A great menu cooked to perfection. The smooth curry is the best ive had.The staff are both happy and friendly and I really wouldn't want to go anywhere else.
