Ordered a few fish dinners one sat afternoon, place had 4 people in. Took 30 minutes which i thought was odd. I would not have ordered had i known of such a wait. Chips then got peas spread across them and a fish on top. Everything generally tasted good but for the wait, fish quite mushy. I have since gone elsewhere for the same unfortunately

Vile. No other words to describe it. My partner got a meal from here around 3 weeks ago. When he got home to opened it and there was a huge long hair across his curry rice and chips. Long story short I phoned up complained ( baring in mind I didn’t get anything because I don’t like the hygiene ) and the fella said tell him to come in next time for a free full meal. Anyway that was that. He goes in yesterday (18th February 2024) even though I’ve told him to stay away. However he said he just got a pie. He didn’t mention anything about the free meal as it was only a pie and he didn’t want to cause a scene over the smallest thing on the menu. When the girl passed him the pie one of her huge fake eyelashes was on top of it!! He said there’s an eyelash on it so she give him a new one and quickly disposed of it before anyone could see. I’m in absolute shock! How can a chippy make any type of money with circumstances like this?? How do they even have a business??

Chicken Noodle Soup was fresh, hot and absolutely delicious. Chop Suey roll likewise. Well worth the extra money, ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Definitely the best chippy around and lots of variety.

Noodles, chips, curry, hotdog and prawn crackers for 24 quid and very average and cold. I’ll come in shop next time but most other places I’ve ordered from just eat don’t add the 40% on. Its handy getting deliveries when you have kids but I’ve had nice food from here in the past when picking up so I’ll stick to that next time.

En este momento estaba en camino allí mientras todavía estaba en el teléfono. Debe haber escuchado al menos 6 órdenes tomadas. Personal quejándose de lo ocupado que estaba. Es un trato de miércoles por la noche. Sólo para llegar y decir 15 minutos. En 10 minutos recibí mi pedido. Llega a casa y la comida era tan sosa. Nunca más volveré aquí después de años y años que he ido menos ya que ha estado resbalando, pero la comida estaba bien. Hoy me ha molestado seriamente. Después de todo lo que pasó y pagué lo que debía. Comida clasificada 3 / 10 Precio 3 / 10 Personal 2 / 10 . Impactante

Advised on the order not to put green peppers in the meal and the meal is full of green peppers. Unable to eat it as the smell and the taste is still there even though I had removed them. Did try but spoiled it. Disappointed and is not cheap. Has put me off ordering again.

I wish people would stop whingeing about the prices. George Gerry’s make it very clear about their pricing, and this is what I respect about this restaurant. Food is always delicious, and we have no complaints about the temperature on arrival. Great portion sizes too. Recommend the salt n pepper chicken!

The expected time changed a few times after I ordered so it arrived a lot later than I expected. When we opened it everything was only just lukewarm. It was the worst food we have had from you. I don’t know if it was cold when it left you or the courier had other food to deliver before ours. Or even if part of the order was done and you were waiting for something. Delivery isn’t cheap - and it should have been hot when it got to me. Previous orders have been lovely. This was awful.

Food arrived over 2 hours after ordering it and it was cold. Very disappointing

Between this and Lams. The best chippys in Bootle. Nowhere else comes close.

Food delivered on time and hot. But both the main meals (different dishes) tasted of bisto type gravy. Brown and sludgy. Hardly any ginger in the ginger and spring onion. The chicken and sweetcorn soup was sugary. Such a shame; it’s also so expensive.

The order was placed at 17:53. It still hasn’t arrived.

My favourite chippy and our whole football team have been coming here for years - Then we saw a reel on Facebook with some idiot called queenofscottyroad swearing. We will be using another chippy from now on !!

Paid £15 for mixed meat curry and egg fried rice. No prawns and was very tight on the beef chicken and char sui . Flavour of curry sauce was nice though.Halloumi fries might aswell of been a tray full of batter. Not nice atall

Ordered steak pie and received steak and kidney pie. I cannot tolerate steak and kidney pie it makes me physically unwell. Really disappointed. The chips, peas and gravy was nice and fresh.

Food a bit pricey but very nice

I really do like the food from George Gerrys, however, twice now I have received wrong items. Firstly, I ordered chicken strips and got spring rolls and secondly, I ordered a vegetable hot and sour soup and got soup containing chicken and prawns (the chicken wasn’t the problem but I am allergic to prawns which was why I ordered the vegetable soup). Apart from this, the food is great but I would like to see traditional fish and chips on the menu.

Desgracia absoluta... tengo sal y pimienta especial y se hizo literalmente en 1 minuto? Hacía calor, pero ¿cómo es posible si dices que sirves buena comida? El calamar era como masticar plástico. Esto supuestamente solía ser conocido como un chippy jefe en la ciudad, pero deben llegar a una etapa en la que las ganancias vienen antes de servir buena comida al público. Un desperdicio de £10... ..genuinamente nunca volverá a entrar allí. Realmente difícil de conseguir por una comida que sirve comida genuinamente decente en lugar de mierda.

Getting a little expensive nowadays but the food is lovely

Absolutely fuming, not well so can't get out at minute so ordered on just eat food hasn't arrived and shop were not very helpful blaming just eat I get that they are the delivery people but surely they could have sent replacement out i will never use this place again

Ordenado y pagado en 5 minutos, lo que no está mal, la señora detrás del mostrador gritó que pusiera dos peces pequeños para mí, pensó muy bien, será agradable y fresco. 28 minutos después y 600 pedidos masivos de UBER ordenados todavía no hay señales mías. Eventualmente el tipo detrás del mostrador le pregunta ¿qué estaba esperando?, le dijo y habló con otro tipo que luego fue a poner el pescado a cocinar. Estoy asumiendo que mi pequeño pez fue entregado a la orden Uber y eso significa que tengo que esperar. Pedí un reembolso, no puedo pagar con tarjeta, así que tuve que obtener dinero en efectivo. No iré allí de nuevo. Estoy a favor de esperar a que la comida se cocine fresca, pero ignorar a un cliente que entró en la tienda por los pedidos de UBER es una vergüenza y muestra dónde están sus prioridades.

Disappointed. Chips were okay, but sweet and sour chicken was chewy, there was a burnt type taste on the spring rolls and the special fried rice was cold. Waited an hour and a half for delivery too. Expensive chippy for what you get. I understand that meals food is pricier due to just eat charges, but other chip shops don’t charge this price. Was really looking forward to this too.

A little late but good was excellent. Ribs were the best I’ve had for a long time. Meaty and tasty. Curry also top drawer. Would definitely order from here again.

I wish they would read the note properly.. when someone says lots of vinegar they expect to be able to taste it on more than 3 chips!!!! so annoying!!

I took note of their pic on website for barbecue ribs they looked lovely with peppers and onions included, there were no peppers or onions in my order just ribs in sauce , so was a bit disappointed ribs ok but for £11 bit expensive for what you get !!

Burgers are seriously lovely, they only have onions and a sweet tomato sauce on them but so yummy!!! SCOLLOPS are always yummy 😋😋😋

Food was flavorless and my delivery was very late when I ordered it the app said 20- 45 minutes it took 1hour 20 minutes

Order didn’t turn up after waiting nearly 3 hours, restaurant were lovely when called but it was not there fault. They said the food had been ready for hours they was just waiting for a driver as there is no drivers! Absolute nuisance having to wait, it now says it’s been delivered when it hasn’t. Still trying to get a refund now.

Ordered plain chicken wings but they came in some sort of weird coating more like fried chicken wings which my son wont eat, so went straight in the bin, chicken fried rice was ok, curry was gorgeous and chips ok and big portion.

Simply the best! But wish their sausage dinners where on menu as their great

Paid nearly £50 for 3 meals and a sweet and sour sauce. Found a staple in the fried rice. Won’t be ordering again ! No compensation offers

Fish and chips with Gravy was enough for 3 of us.

Delivery wasn’t made to my address. Tried to call the restaurant but they can’t help. Absolutely awful service from all involved. Could see the driver on the app going to the wrong address. What would I do to get a refund. Why is it so hard to get someone to understand where to deliver. I am furious about this sh@t service

Pie , Chips and gravy...I can honestly say that the Chips were the very Best I have ever had from a Chip Shop., Hot , Fresh and cooked to perfection.

Hi, I’ve just been in approx 5:10 pm and ordered Small Fish , Chips and peas , Chicken with salad ( cabbage salad ) , and Sausage. Came to just over £14,00 , the guy didn’t put in the sausage even though I asked him and says yes … unfortunately the chicken ( wasn’t chicken ) taken from the kabab bar was very dry and the coating used was not cooked properly as it was still thick and powdery , this was not chicken as I expected to be cooked on a griddle fresh not kept warm in a hot tin bowl .. I not satisfied at all , as I live in Formby I regularly pass through from work in Bootle to get dinner for my elderly mother in Aintree , but I’m sorry this will be my last order as I ended up throwing it away …

Right..food - especially fish, was tasty. The problem was; you get stingy portions for you're money. I paid just over £19. I got 2 small fish, 2 tiny portions of chips, 2 cups of peas, and 1 cup of curry. In my opinion, that just doesn't compete with a lot of other local chippies - that give you a lot more for your money I won't be going back. Once rinsed - twice shy.
