Looking for excellent quality fish and chips look no further. Fish was huge, tasty and cooked perfectly, same for the chips. Added some peas and fruity curry for a perfect traditional dinner. Love the non stick sheets to keep the fish batter from sticking. Good job

Would not recommend this chippy. I used to often go but when I visited today I was appalled by the food I got Fruity curry that was like water and tasteless and chips that had been warmed up. The prices have gone up ridiculously not worth the money.

Got a special fried rice thinking it would be special but I should off just got a ham fried rice for the price it look like there cutting back on ingredients

The place is brilliant I just don't know why they have started using Just Eat? The prices are ridiculous and half the normal menu is not there. Please please just get your own delivery drivers surely this must be easier.

Phoned up was out through to a bit of a rude woman who had no customer service skills, ordered My food & then came in an 40 mins later and collected. Food was excellent when it arrived, but they need to improve the customer service.

Prices have gotten ridiculous , used to love having a sneaky chippy tea from here but the prices are scandalous especially for the tiny portions ,2 mini fish dinners n 2 steak pies £18 seriously that's a joke , place used to be packed out all the time but now it's not prices are to much n some of the staff are right snotty and the quality of food has gone down hill because of them, most of them can't get an order right despite being told multiple times seriously need to have a rethink of the business it used to be booming

I’d never order of Just Eat again, as order didn’t turn up. As for telephoning Georg Gerry’s the attitude of the staff was appalling and you could clearly hear the owner in background stating not our problem get them to ring Just Eat. Clearly a theme here in the reviews you contact Just Eat yourselves and complain then you wouldn’t get such bad reviews and yes you are overpriced for the food you sell it’s ok but it’s not Michelin star food but your practically charging for for a fast food outlet. Poor

Foods decent in there like cant knock it but the staff bit bone idle they let a crack head bring an xl bull dog in there shop and said nothing that's the last time our family go there very hygienic guys well done thats what people want dog hairs 👏

Gone down hill so much,staff are so rude and brassy puts you off going in there especially with kids with the swearing and topics of discussion...prices are not matching quality of food,I'd happily pay over the odds if it was worth having..won't be using again

Beautiful, clean and the staff don’t stop they really do work hard. By far the best Chinese food and fish. I love this chippy and have done for years. My go to is the Singapore chow mien and satay dishes but take your pick they’re all delicious.

Really disappointed: Of late George Gerrys has been a big disappointment for customer service, food quality and price. It used to be the best chippy in Sefton and now sadly my last four visits over two months has been a big let down with greasy warmed up chips and noticeably smaller portions resulting in my going there less frequently. In last couple of months prices for the same food seemed to have fluctuated one time it £17 and the next £20 for the same basic food...sausages, 3 x chips and two pots of gravy. Staff have also become a bit snide with customers and on a quieter period appear reluctant to stop chatting between themselves and serve a walk in customer. On Friday and Saturdays you can forget about good walk in service as all they are interested in is the delivery orders, leaving the traditional and regular walk in customers waiting up to 25 minutes only to be told 'we're waiting on chips' and then when you get home with the chips they're warm ups with presumably the fresh chips going to the deliveries.

Recently visited this place for a meal for my family for the first time I’d heard good things about them so decided to go and try a couple of meals off their menu I had a char Sui pork fried rice dish and a Spanish omelette my char Sui was the best tasting dish I’ve had from any chip shop I’ve eaten out of highly recommend this from there I was blown away by the taste definitely restaurant quality

Been eating at George Gerrys for years and never ordered Chinese food. Ordered a large number of meals and starters mid day - phoned beforehand and went to shop to pick up. Food was fab and starters some of the best sui mais we have ever tasted - had plain sui mais and salt and pepper which were awesome. Prawn toast packed with prawns.

Great takeaway, one of the best in the area. Had the small fish dinner with gravy – really tasty – excellent fish and fresh chip – gravy not thick and just right and has mushroom and onions in it. Everywhere very clean.

George Gerrys isn't what it once was, it's miles off. You would once go there and be assured of quality and service 10/10. The quality and service has been waning for years, a few times I've took breaks from there because of a poor quality meal & each time I returned there was no improvement. Recently returned again to give it a chance and it was worse than ever. Spent £14, poor food, even worse service & the 3 orders/food I had were slapped on the counter without even a bag supplied. The bearded fryer guy was more interested in himself & trying to make fun of customers than checking the quality of food being cooked. Never again!

One of the few chip shops open mist of the day, gor when you want a 1 o'clock meal or something. Other places always closed. Chips here are great, and burgers. Clean place too

Eaten here plenty of times without any issues but unfortunately had a curry Tuesday night. Curry unbelievably hot absolutely cleaned my insides out had the shites up until midday ( went the bog 9 (nine) times they need to sort this curry out it cost me a days work. Curry chips and a can of coke £205 (inc lost day rate) 😡

First visit. Great location (by car) in Bootle, 2 mins drive from Bootle New Strand shopping centre. Car parks all busy around daytime, so need a little walk too definitely. Place is immaculate, really clean, modern! Staff (2 girls by the counter) are helpful. Was busy at the time of my visit. Waiting time for the takeaway was less than 10 minutes. Ordered salt and pepper ribs and chips with a can of curry. As a takeaway, we consumed this at home. Ribs were overcooked, burnt to flames, chips was undercooked, soft but not crispy. The salt and pepper taste for this business is a lot of chilly power and flakes hint on the food, I would say extremely lot, therefore you can't taste nothing apart from the chilly. Curry was too spicy too. Usually I'm having this meal combi in every place I try so I've got a good sense of comparison. No it was NOT tasty, it was only spicy. I would never go back here for this meal in the future. It doesn't mean I wouldn't try something else within the same business...

BEST chips in Liverpool. The pad thai noodle box is amazing, but be warned one of the chefs sometimes puts too much chilli powder in it and it can be impossible to eat, same with the salt and pepper chicken, other than that, a great chippy with a good menu.

I won't be goung again, man behind the counter was rude, I was overcharged again and till lcd deliberately covered by a sign so you have no idea what you're being charged. Barricades still up to stop you queuing next to the counter and there's no need. To be fair the food was OK. Cheaper and friendlier places close by.

Best chippy for miles and the only one we go to. I was 70p short for my order and told them to take a bottle of Pepsi back, the lovely lady serving me said she would take it out of her tips and to pay it next time I go. You just don't get that type of service any more!

I absolutely love this place. Chicken kebab the best we even travel out to go here. My partner always has the fish, it is nice size and batter is so crispy and light. One of my top 5 takeaway places

Placed an order online, went to collect it and was told they recieved no order. We recieved payment confirmation-money left our bank account. Ended up with no food or no refund. Left with the situation of having paid for food and recieved nothing!!! We were provided with the offer that they would prepare our order but we would have to pay again! I feel very disappointed and upset of how this has been handled, especially as money is hard earned and limited with Christmas approaching. **As I can't reply to the comment from yourselves. The website must have been live, we were able to access it and place an order. I feel that you may need to look into how we were able to do that if the website is not meant to be live until the New Year?! I cannot grasp how this would be our problem as a customer placing an order. We did show proof that the order was placed and that the funds left our bank account. Also I feel that it is a bit strange how I have just tried to access the website just now and it is now saying that I can't access the server 🤔

Hands down the best chippy in liverpool! The food is fresh and delicious, the staff and management are so friendly. The fish is cooked to order and the Chinese meals are amazing. My go to place. Just read the review below mine I’ve Been going here for years and I know they don’t do any online orders it’s all in shop or by calling, so I can’t understand why somebody would leave a 1 star review over an online ordering system that doesn’t exist ??

I was in the shop last week first chippy meal in Liverpool for over 20 years and couldn't finish it the small portion was like 3 times that of an average portion in Scotland and a proper fishcake don't know how much it cost but it was worth it and I'll be back next time I'm down for a visit

I went in tonight for 2 fish dinners. I can’t fault. Absolutely amazing - the fish was cooked in front of you. It says in the window we don’t do fast food, we do food as fast as we can. It’s the cleanest chippy in Liverpool. Very surprised in how clean it was especially with how busy it was but it’s kept on top of. I’ll definitely be returning. Also, staff are very friendly!

Chicken kebab was inedible. Absolutely disgusting. The 'chicken' if that what it's called was black and chewy. Should not have even been served.

Food is great, but the waiting time when all you want is a portion of chips is ridiculous, people are waiting for meals but your still left waiting, when you could be served and gone, they seem more interested in taking big phone orders.

Between this and Lams. The best chippys in Bootle. Nowhere else comes close.

Loved the kebab from here with plenty of salad and their home made calsaw is thee best iv tated. All staff are friendly and professsional ensuring your order is unbelievable tasty. Their noodle box are fantastic. Great value for what you pay for. Would recommend to everyone. Best Chippy I have every been to.

We had another small fish dinner early December - great tasting fish and the gravy has onions and mushrooms in it. Good social distancing measures in place at this takeaway. Husband gets the curry on his dinner. Comes with peas. Great proper chips and fish not thick batter - really tasty as made to order.

Good hot food staff need to be pleasant

Average quality food from a chip shop that sells poor quality kebab meat on large skewers. The meat is definitely not cooked on a griddle/barbecue and is of inferior quality to shops that offer said service! Reasonably priced. Friendly staff. All in all I've been there once and there won't be a second time!

Had another takeaway in October. Husband went to collect and very good social distancing measures in place for ordering and collection. We both had the small fish dinner - mine with gravy and husband with curry. Both tasted great.

Food on Friday was so good...we had Chinese for lunch as part of a hen do for a colleague getting married on Monday. Can't fault the food, hot, tasty and very filling, 10/10 for the spring rolls...not greasy at all. If you haven't visited yet...get yourself down there!!!

Estuve en Liverpool justo antes de que comenzara el "encierro" y fui a ver a George Gerrys para comer pescado y patatas fritas de mi madre. Como de costumbre, el pescado estaba tan fresco como se puede y maravillosamente cocinado. Comencé a usar George Gerrys en 1989 cuando compré una casa cercana. He vivido en Londres durante más de 24 años, pero George Gerrys sigue siendo mi comida para llevar favorita de pescado y patatas fritas o comida china; lo recomiendo encarecidamente.

Just had a small sausage diner which was okay but cost £4 how can they charge so much on the GG specials board sausage diner is £2.30 if you go in after 8pm it should tell you to come in after eight so you don't get ripped right off robbing gets................
