The Fryar Tuck in Belfast

Great food, early delivery but prefer that to waiting ages on a Friday night.

This is my chippy of choice...fish and chips is always good and generous portions. Sometimes I've found they refuse an order, not sure why that is...if just busy on those occasions. For that reason I pre-ordered for 19:30 to allow me time to do a few things prior to eating. Order came almost immediately after ordering 1hr 15mins earlier than the requested time although that time was printed on the receipt. This has happened twice now. It's a personal thing for me that I would actually prefer late rather than early. I asked for that delivery time for a reason...what if I'd been out? Other than that food is lovely.

Batter far too thick on fish & chicken fillet. Otherwise chicken fillet good, fish OK, but wouldn't get the breakfast bap again (maybe try a bacon bap next trip).

Bit disappointing if I’m honest. Used to order from here all the time and never had an issue. Received my order tonight, chips were undercooked and I asked for them well done. Chicken burger had a 2p size amount of sauce on it. Shame

The fish batter was watery mush, the chips had practically became part of the sludge that was the supper. I appreciate that a chippy will be greasy, but this was beyond greasy. A great chippy, not anymore...wont be ordering again folks.

Everything was good, except they forgot my can of Fanta although it was on the receipt and paid for. Mistakes are easily made.

Food took a long time for delivery, was cold. onion rings missing from burgers and the extra onion rings i ordered where pretty much overcooked. Drink missing from delivery. Last time we ordered it wasn't as bad so thought we'd give it another go. Lesson learnt

It just was greasy very very greasy and the chips pure white , I didn’t eat most of it , have been disappointed the last few times with food from here won’t be ordering again … no option to order tartare sauce either … also delivery driver just left food at the doorway and by the time I came out he was in the car about to drive off … I had a tip for him which he obviously didn’t get …

Delivery time was great but the food was a bit disappointing. Chips undercooked and the burger was dry.

Chicken burger was nice but the chips were cold and for £2.60 I only got a handfull I know it was a small chip but really I could count on one hand how many chips I got... Don't think il order out of here again!

My daughters gravy chip tasted funny so she couldn't eat it and my fish was really sticky texture so it wasn't eaten either

Have ordered a few times from Frayar Tuck but won’t be ordering again. Chips and onion rings were extremely soggy and noticeably greasy, pretty unpleasant to eat… Scampi and chips meal portion is a bit of a rip off and the scampi was pretty pathetic tasted like it had been previously frozen. Chip, pea and gravy was drown in overly rich gravy and the whole thing was a complete waste of money. I wouldn’t usually leave a bad review but very annoyed after having some great take aways previously. £22 felt like it went down the drain due to this poor meal and sorry to say I’ll not be ordering from here again, a real shame.

Chips undercooked. 1 of the chips had the wrong sauce. Goujons portion was tiny.

Amazing food but again... the driver doesn't even bother checking the address or the note on the receipt. Had to go out and explain what "blue car directly outside" meant lol

Wasn’t great at all, ordered kids cod strips and ended up with chicken strips but couldn’t be bothered waiting for them to potentially send out the cod so didn’t even ring them, chips tasted like They had been reheated, certainly not fresh chips, got as a one off as it’s not my usual but I don’t think il be back tbh unless this was just a one off ?

The food is unbelievably delicious. It's got the best chicken burgers and chips in the whole of the Belfast area. Saying that though, the delivery driver keeps delivering my order to the wrong house. It's really irritating having your neighbors bringing your order.

This was never delivered I had to collect myself because it was going to be to long so I want the delivery charge back that I paid for and didn't receive

Not many chips with portions but food lovely

Even though delivery would be hour an half (ordered @ 5.35 & delivery was to be between 7-7.20pm, arrived 7.35pm) the food was warm & not greasy. Token bottle of coke thrown in for late delivery. Would order again, maybe not on a busy Friday.

My wife had to go to work without her dinner after waiting over an hour after the delivery time slot. Last ever delivery via just eat unfortunately.

Chicken breast from the burger was hard and chewy couldn’t eat it, chips and sausages were good but quite expensive and delivery times are quite long

Fish and chips very greasy and stone cold chicken strips were overcooked couldn't eat them and along with these the chips were cold

The fish was very greasy and the batter fell off when I cut it. I wanted salt and vinegar on my meal but couldn't taste any on the fish or chips. I thought there would have been more chips than a scoop full on the pensioners supper.

Fish was good but chips were awful, old fusty potato taste and some were black, no one ate them

Based on the number of positive reviews and feeling like a good fish n chip, the order was placed. Now been classed as a fish n chip, you'd expect them to excel in their job. However, the chips were hard and some tasted either uncooked or had been sitting there for days. My partner could survive of chips and would stuff anything down her throat, but even she was disappointed with the chips and 90% of them went straight to the bin.

Best chippy in the East! Cant fault this place at all,quick delivery,good quality food and delivery drivers are friendly.

Ordered two burgers both came cold, one of the burgers with onions were more over the bai and box than in the bun. Ordered two chips one with vinegar and I couldn’t taste any vinegar on them.

Really tasty chippy that wasn't too soggy after delivery. Would recommend!

Our delivery window came and went, with no update. I think they forgot about our order until I called them. Finally arrived late and cold.

Arrived after hour and a half , busy I guess which is fair enough but annoying not to be told. Cod and chips average, not the worst I’ve had but far from the best. Tartar sauce weird taste, maybe for some but not for me. Maybe would have been better if it was hot.

Ordered from here on Saturday, chicken burger but chips were stone cold and under cooked. Also ordered a kids meal which was meant to come with a drink but it didn't arrive, certainly won't order again, the fryar tuck has certainly let its standards slip

Very small portion for an extra large cod supper

Food was delayed and still arrived 15 minutes later than the delayed time. Chips were greasy and burgers were cold.

1. One of our 4oz burgers came battered, even though it wasn’t requested. 2. Delivery was as per stated, but 90mins was to long a wait 3. The Steakette came as a thin burger, was expecting more of a strips of beef in a sandwich

Five star fish and chips with a side order of burger. Best fish n chips in Belfast. Wouldn’t buy them from anywhere else.

Was a little disappointed with my order as the portions were so much smaller than expected, despite being full price meals. The chicken goujons were fine but nothing special and the chips were okay too. Nothing bad but not really worth the price.

Love the food was so tasty and it came piping hot would recommend and will be definitely getting out of there again ☺️☺️☺️

This was my first time ordering a chippy from the fryar truck and must say was well pleased with it fish and chips were great plus breakfast bap decent too all round good service I be making this my regular whenever I want fish and chips and its really good that they deliver in the afternoon as that suits me more compared to evenings thanks very much.

Chips where a bit soggy and rubbery and the portions aren’t very big when you order the meal deal but the curry sauce was nice but the chicken goujons where like something from an Iceland packet

Ordered food at 6.45, app said it would arrive at 8pm which was a bit crazy as I live 5 mins away, obv I understand they’re busy so can’t complain about that too much. Food was amazing as always, arrived at 7.55 and was roasting! Never had a bad word to say about this place! Time is usually much quicker as well, usually about 30 mins max

Not impressed. First time ordering, saw great reviews but the food wasn't very warm, very greasy and the batter on the fish was wet. Truly horrible. My kids enjoyed the chicken strips but the fish was gross. I wont order again..

The food was really hot when it came. The chips were like home made chips and not those blanched chips. Good sized portions and cod was large.

I have been getting food from The Fryar Tuck for over 25 years now and the Food beautiful as always, Thank To all the staff.

I always write in the delivery instructions but I known it isn't read as its never followed, just wonder why this is. For pricing the portions are small.

Food came after 1 hour and 25 minutes. Food wasn’t hot and was greasy and soggy. Although I did get a complimentary bottle of coke to make up for the wait.

They forgot my bottle a coke just

Said it would be delivered at 9.30 - later than I would have liked but delivered at 8.30. Didn't have plate heated or condiments etc ready. Food ok but not to usual standard nor as hot as I would have liked.
