Highly Recommend The Friary in Beauly. Great team there, great food. Proper chips! Fast, organised service and friendly, helpful staff.

I went in for fish and chips for me and my husband on my way home. I happened to mention we don't live locally and Connor kindly wrapped my food in foil to keep it warm till I got home. Food was really good and we will definitely go back. Great service. Go

My wee boy and I decided a trip to beauly for tea as heard about the haggis special , absolutely loved it 😊 Well worth our jaunt ( even managed an ice cream ) Lovely bunch of girls in there tonight

We were attended to by two young women who seemed put off to serve foreigners. Any questions we asked about the food (such as portion size) was met with snickers and looks of dumbfoundedness. Once our ordering was complete, the young women, in plain sight of us, started talking about us and laughing at us. Not what an out of town family would expect on holiday. The food was GREAT, however the unwelcomeness overshadowed the entire meal.

Sausage suppers and chips were lovely but unfortunately the fish was awful 3 of us had fish and it was old and definitely did not taste fresh. We also paid for a single white pudding which failed to make it into the order but I paid for it according to the receipt. Not a great end to the holiday.

Really enjoyed our chip suppers from the friary Beauly. Best we have had in a long time. Better than any we have had in Inverness.

This by far the worst chop shop I've ever been in ! The fish was at least a day old (I know as I'm a chef) the portion I ordered was a large/jumbo fish supper and it was dry very small for an alleged jumbo it was a total joke ! I will always buy locally but this place has turned into a tourist trap for the gullible ! A damn disgrace are my only words ! Appalling to take money for day old fish in a tiny portion ! Disgraceful! Please go to another and in Dingwall you won't believe the difference! I feel robbed and yea I'm local although the staff aren't 🙈 gave the dog the fish ! Disgusting and dry ! Avoid

Have not been for a while and still as good as when I had previously been there. Always enjoy that their black pudding is in round patties. I also have been there for an ice cream recently

Fabulous battered haddock - no skin and light batter. Good chips and a huge menu to choose fromn very reasonably priced too. Friendly, helpful staff; no wonder the place is busy.

Good food, great and extensive menu, ok pricing. You can see why the place is popular. Service is friendly and it’s a real mixed crowd who turn up to enjoy the food which is take away only.

The village chippy where do I start! This place is great. It was like I was eating the best food I'd ever had. I just love the place. It was very quick service, everyone was friendly. Maybe a bit too much oil but who cares about that. The chippy is just amazing. I honestly recommend it, especially if you're a tourist and you just want to get some food and relax. Really just like a really nice place to go out and you've got the Priory next door lots of tourist attractions great ice cream don't get me started on the ice cream the ice cream is delicious. I got all the flavors. Could be cheaper than yeah it's very expensive for what it is but it's delicious I highly recommend it.

Recently enjoyed a fish and scampi suppers here. Hadn’t visited for a while but it was great. The batter was particularly good and the fish was nice and fresh. I’ll be back soon!

Tried to phone an order but no one answered the phone, so called in person at 7pm to order white pudding supper & haggis supper around 7:10pm.There were a few people waiting around , no one serving .Eventually a lady with a little girl in front responded when the young school girl shouted who is next. On completion of her order ,another gentleman went forward who it turned out had pre ordered and was awaiting his order.Iafter 10 mins waiting I stepped forward and gave my order.I waited and waited more customers came in one being told by the person cooking it’s a 15/20min wait.By this time I was on 10 mins after having given my order.My disabled husband was awaiting in our car so I decided I had time to drop him off at our sons before coming back.This I did still the same faces were awaiting in the queue.A lady came in and placed an order. In between a gentleman who had ordered a single haggis was offered an extra portion as the boy cooking said he had a spare one ????A group of other schoolboys came in to whom the boy cooking started chatting and was quiteunperturbed about customers waiting.Then to cap it all, the lady who ordered long after me got her order & off she went. Eventually,45 mins after having given my order I went up to the counter to enquire if it was near ready and was told it would be ready after this order.When “this order” would be ready who knows.Eventually the same boy cooking came round to the till to tell me that he had given out my white pudding in error to someone else !!!I said I had waited 45 mins since giving my order, he said without me prompting, the lady that ordered after me got hers first because she’d just ordered a single supper and I had ordered two.I did not see any notices to say you can just order one supper at a time or you would be penalised.By this time, after over 45 mins I requested a refund I was given £6 on the counter,I paid £12:70 originally. I said a full refund which the original young schoolgirl said she would do it.Eventually having got my refund, I proceeded to the store next door to get something for my husbands tea.On returning to my vehicle I was confronted by the schoolgirl to satay “ my food order was ready!! Totally unbelievable ,but when the establishment seems to be run by school kids who didn’t have a clue on how to run such a place it’s no wonder it was chaos.Will not be back. And if you fancy a chippy then just order 1 thing at a time.

This was definitely the worst fish and chips I've ever had the misfortune to eat- the entire family agreed and most of the food got binned. The shop itself had a rancid fish smell, staff were having inappropriate conversations about a previous argument, the floor was dirty, the food was terrible. Scallops so over cooked we couldn't eat with a normal knife, rubbery calamari, soggy scampi and greasy chips. I have attached a photo of the portion on mushy peas as opened and untouched apart from removing the lid, the pot was less than half full. Such a shame as this place used to be great.Dire.

Sunday evening, hungry, tired, no food in what can you do but eat out. Except it's Bella and everywhere is fully booked. With trepidation we tried the chippy having heard it was new owners and considerably better than before. So right! Delicious chips with crispy haddock. Long wait in the queue but so worth it. Keep it up. There are not many decent chippies around Inverness.

Didn't actually have any fish & chips as we ate else where,however the ice-cream was amazing so good we visited a couple of times.

Orders taken promptly. Customer service friendly. Meal good but chips could have done with while longer in fryer as they were very white. Overall, I found the Friary of a reasonable standard but on the downside, I feel that customers who are ordering and paying do so at same end of counter as those uplifting their carryout and this leads to limited space and unnecessary bunching.

We were starving after a long drive and stopped here and saw this chippie. Well the Haddock and Chips were best I've had in a very long time. Piece of fish was so big, I'd be frightened to go swimming ever again! Batter was crisp and tasty and chips were beautifully and freshly cooked to order In all honesty I couldn't come near to finishing the generous portion I had and it was truly terrific value as well. Definitely the place to come to satisfy that craving we get for a poke of chips and a succulent piece of fresh fish to go with it. Shame I don't stay in Scotland really!

Called in at The Friary for fish and chips on Thursday while staying nearby. I can honestly say it's the best fish I've had in a very long time, absolutely beautiful!!! A great size portion too.. Perfectly cooked , no greasiness or after taste. Can't wait to visit the area again and I'll definitely be calling into the Friary for another fish and chips !!! Highly recommend a visit ...

As a local to beauly we visit the Friary every so often and have always found it ok. Today, at 5 months pregnant, I went in for lunch today and ordered chips and cheese. Unfortunately after I had started eating them, my fiancé had said they tasted off and they smell was over baring. As we were on our way to family further north we decided not to return. I noticed on entering the box of cheese was sitting out of the fridge and it was extremely warm today so not surprised at this however serving off food products to someone pregnant and of course other customers and charging £5 for this ? Shocking, I think their hygiene and food safety needs to be seriously re assessed. Luckily I didn't eat many at all however if I had done I would have been escalating this further.

Broke off from fishing the River Beauly for fish and chips in The Square. Delighted with the freshness and quality of the fish, nicely cooked and perfect home made chips. Friendly and cheery staff - a wee bit of a fussy ordering and serving system seemed to slow things down a bit - but otherwise excellent!

As this is now my local chippy it seems only right to review it, used it a few times now and it never disappoints, fresh and tasty fish every time, always busy with friendly staff.

What can I say swung in here for some fish and chips and it was delicious beautiful crispy batter what more can I say highly recommended!

Really nice small, village fish and chip shop. their food is always freshly cooked to order and always delicious. Great service from friendly staff. They do pizzas too.

Tried the food under the new management and it was really good. They were very busy,but everyone got served promptly. Lovely friendly staff on the day. They have introduced a Seniors menu which is a good idea as it is a bit cheaper. Noticed free lolipops for the kids too. Will be back again for sure.

Stopped in on my way through the village and absolutely loved it, great value for money with fresh fish. So good we have already been back on another occasion to enjoy their food

We visited Beauly recently and decided to call in at the Friary for Haddock suppers.

I am a regular of this place but since it was taken over i must say the food is despicable and now at a very low quality, the service has also gone downhill too

I decided to order 2 fish suppers and a chicken fillet supper, customer service was okay but the wait for the order was 35 minutes! The employee that was serving me I believe was called Callum, I was expecting an apology for the wait but he was very serious and dry towards me and never said anything about the wait but was very keen to take money!
